The agents were not knowledgeable about the equipment. I asked about downshifting to lower gears to drive through the mountains but they did not have the procedure for doing this safely (can the vehicle be downshifted while in motion or does it need to come to a complete stop?). Instead they told me to call the main U-Haul number but I was placed on hold for over 15 minutes with no answer. Then I was told to call roadside assistance. After some back and forth, the manager finally went into one of the vehicles and tried various downshifting procedures to determine which was the correct one. The on-site representatives need to know about the equipmentâ€”the customers do not use it on a regular basis and it is not realistic for them to depend on the 1800 number for which wait times are incredibly long. Also, Belnita forgot to put the moving blankets which I rented into the truck and I almost drove off without them!
I know it's not related to you guys but don't recommend movers help to your customers. I booked it twice the first one said that they are not available and changed my reservation date by themselves and second one after confirmation never showed up. And maked everything stressful for us.
I had an appointment to pick up at 5 pm and had already done the online check in but it still took over 20 minutes (waiting in line) to pick up the truck. The guy that checked me out was nice. No issue there. I returned the truck early and stopped at a gas station less than 1/4 mile from the drop off location. I actually put in more gas than I thought I needed to ensure that I would not be charged for gas. Yep, you guessed it. Had a charge for $7.48. When I dropped off the truck (early and with more gas than I picked up) there was a super rude woman who banged on my window telling me to move because I was blocking cars. Ridiculous because there was someone blocking the truck return lane and no one was trying to pull out where I pulled in. She was just rude. Then I went in to return the truck and the man behind the counter said to just leave the keys and I'd get a receipt. (Aren't they supposed to go with you to look at the condition and check the gas and mileage??) I felt like I wa shoo go to regret that decision but I was tired from moving so I left. Pretty disappointed that you are nickle and dining people upon return. I'll rent from another company next time.
The truck I rented air didn't work properly. I was headed to my destination and I didn't turn the vehicle around because I was on a time frame. It was out as two cows on a bbq pit. It was a miserable day moving moving my child into her college apartment. Upon returning the truck I informed the clerk she played it off by saying it's hot in Houston that had nothing to do with why the air wasn't working had to ride with windows down to get a breeze. I felt I should have been compensated for having to suffer in the heat on the drive. I was truly upset to put it nicely.
Very unprofessional. We waited for 10 min to pay for our mileage overage while Mr. Cole and his employees literally watching cooking videos. Then when it came time to pay he told me that he was going to charge my card an additional $150 because what I paid in the morning when I picked up the truck was pending. After my husband explained how asinine that is when the difference was $40 he came to his senses and allowed us to pay the difference in cash. Mr. Cole is extremely arrogant and condescending.
Waiting time for getting the truck was long and the front desk office was not friendly.

Great customer service
Ä° made a reservation from fondren location 7:30 am for a 26 ft truck. Ä° got a phone cal around 8 telling me truck broke down they sent me another location which didnt have 20 ft . This cost me so much money had to make 2 trips and Pay 3 guys 110$ more .

I used this location twice to drop off rentals. People were courteous and efficient each time.
I got charged twice
More speedy check out. Takes too long at the counter even when you complete the registration on line. Other than this, everything else went smoothly.
Why was I charged an after hours fee?
This location was seriously under staffed. Due to the traffic and trucks at this location, there should be 3 employees working during usual hours. Today, there were 10+ customers in line with no one behind the counter to help us. The one employee there was off helping a customer for 15+ minutes straight. I saw several people get fed up with waiting and just leave. Having more employees would more than pay for itself here.

The dropbox was nowhere to be found so now I have to return the key at 7am

Online check in was much slower than if we had gone into the store.
Checking in took a long time even though I had previously checked in on-line. Make sure to inspect the equipment for damage before leaving and document with the mobile text app they send you.
