Sirs: I had a terrible experience with the Rexdale location. When I received my instructions on how to inspect the truck rental, I was told everything had to be done using a smart phone. Being 71 years old I am not very efficient with a smart phone. I asked what would happen if a person did not have a smart what would they do and was told they would not be able to rent a vehicle. What ever happened to personal service and assistance when renting a vehicle???

Helped me sort out an issue re: billing. I had booked movers through one of the U-Haul people on the phone for an evening move on the Wednesday, and when I called the movers, they didn’t do evening moves. So we ended up having to keep it an extra two days. The person I spoke to on the phone on Wednesday said the next two days would be complementary at no charge, but when I got to the drop off location a charge of been added. So there were two mistakes made by the call centre people. The person at the U-Haul Was helpful in fixing this. I don’t assume the call-center people are that much at fault. I presume they are not paid that well, and really incentivized to get four or five stars, and maybe not given the information that they need in the format that they need to be able to help, for example to know if the movers do an evening move and to brief the customer accordingly.

When finishing the paperwork, a little more explanation may help the driver follow through the required process. Once the messages have been sent to drivers sms, explain what each message means so the driver can follow the instructions especially when it is his/her first experience with U Hsul.

I had to wait a very long time, despite arriving on time for my reservation and checking in, because the keys were misplaced. I was also charged for mileage when I had my reservation moved last minute to a further location that was inaccessible. I want a refund for the mileage and time wasted at the desk.

I'm not writing about this location,my main concern is the location in 135 Ormont Dr. I had reserved a 15' truck about 3 weeks ago for March 30th. I booked the truck for 9:30 am, since the location was supposed to open on 10:30, I chose truck 24/7 service, when I arrived at the location and proceeded the online check in, at the end I encountered an error,I called the customer service, they told me they can't do anything and I should wait until 10:30,while I reserved the elevator in my building starting 10am,then I called the the person working there, he told me he had some situation he would not be at location on time! I was so frustrated because I was losing my time, I called the customer service again and after a long hold they modified my reservation and sent me to 240 Rexdale Bl, finally I got my truck at 11:15, I lost about 2 hours just because of negligence of the person working in 135 Ormont Dr, I'm totally unsatisfied for this service and I believe at least I deserve a partial refund for what I have been through.

I arrived before closing but the guys refused to help me, wouldn't talk to me, and when I finally confronted them they said they wee closed..but I had already been there for 10 minutes. They made the whole drop off the worst experience. On top of that the app wasn't working properly and I had to do the return pages many times.

i rented a trailer from u haul back in February 26 and it was empty when the side of tire blew out i spoke to head office in arizona name zacery and spoke to kel tire in brampton and got the same result to drive the trailer to the depot on a flat seeing i was only a mile away from there at 2 pm in the afternoon seening i had to pick up my wife at 3 kel tire wasnt showing up until at 5 so it took me half hour to drive 1 km but they charged me for the rim whitch i was told by kel tire there was no rim change only tire so no i am not happy with the result

I rented a pickup truck and trailer and they didn’t even have a hitch so I had to buy one. The km’s on the truck were 180 more then written down prior to leaving. The had to adjust once I went in to complain. Also gas was 1/4 tank but showed full on the contract. When we got the trailer the bed was dirt with dirt and rocks. When we returned they tried to blame me for it. I’m a loyal customer to you guys but this is unacceptable and will never visit this location and will be leaving a bad google review also. A horrible experience from start to finish this time around. Was extremely respectful to the staff but got nothing but rudeness in return.

Good rental experience. A little more clarity on the rental process ahead of time would have been useful. Knowing prior to the day of rental that I was going to need a trailer electrical adapter from 4 pin flat to 7 pin round would have been appreciated so I didn't have to buy one from the Uhaul store at about 25% more than I could have bought one elsewhere.

These are the most ridiculous Costumer service I ever seen, They want to rent the truck for 4 hrs And charge $19.99 same asdailly renta. I got the truck 11am these person said i must returned by 2pm I returmed by 4 pm i got a charged for 2 days rental plus $39 of insurance cpveraged. A total $149 for 4 hrs What the hell is wrong with these people. Put in notes what you discuss with customers over the phone. You didn’t have a truck at my original location so I was offered a deal but the location didn’t know that so my time was wasted and I did not get the discount discussed. By only letting me know at 4pm the day before that my rental wasn’t available you left me with no choice but to make it work with U-Haul. I’ve previously been an enterprise customer and I only switched because of the convenience of the location I originally booked.

I rented a trailer and the roll up door wasn’t working properly. It would have half way and was tough to open and close. I told the person that was helping me when I hooked it up and he said to just use it like that. It was really nice staff at the pickup location I rented a furniture dolly and I forgot to take it with me so I called the same location and they were so nice and reimbursed me for the dolly rent . The truck was new and perfect and it really helped me a lots with moving the only thing I would say (not complaining) is the price a bit high . The only reason I didn't give it excellent which is a five stars is due to the increases of rental rates. Especially because the rate was higher than some of the competition prices after being a customer for a few years. I feel like the storage unit caters to attracting new people but not trying to maintain existing individuals. I know that this comes from had office located in Texas but it was important to increase the prices twice within a 6-month period during the pandemic.

Uhaul, in its entirety, is the most useless, unorganized, neglectful, unsafe business I have ever seen. I honestly don’t know how you’re still in business. Every possible thing that you could screw up with my move, you did. 100%. I reserved a trailer, weeks ahead. You messed up the date, time and city of pickup! Your employee didn’t attach the trailer properly and it came off, thankfully nobody died. You messed up my storage in Drop off city. Your staff is clueless and rude. They get mad and rude if you call them out on their screw ups. Absolutely useless company and I can’t wait until you talk to my lawyer. As I’ve already informed you, that’s on the way.

I really needed a storage unit so I thought U-Haul would be a good bet so I reserved one online and got a moving company to help me move all my belongings as I am alone here in toronto as a student once we got to the unit a very rude and unfriendly staff member told me “no we have no storage go somewhere else” I was confused as I had reserved the unit but apparently it’s first come first serve U-Haul do better you need to make sure people know this because what am I supposed to do? I had all my stuff with me with no where else to go an hour away from my friends house where I was staying and I had to pay my moving company for three extra hours because of this ordeal. The lady would not help me whatsoever and I started crying then all of a sudden she was like there is another facility (this was all at the Queensway facility) the other place was rexdale Blvd so we drive there about 30 minutes away and get there and they also tell me no u it’s but the lady at the previous place told me she had called and reserved a u it for me there I was furious and did not know what to do like come on U-Haul plus the lady at the fest had no idea whatsoever how to do her job they do not what to help you here. Then the manager comes out and they talk and she says yes sure we have a unit. Finally my stuff moved in I leave it there for exactly one month and I come back to get it and there are literal cockroaches on my furniture so many of them half dead and half alive it was disgusting I had to throw my stuff away I told the staff and they did not seems to care they just told me to call this number as per usual with businesses like these. Absolute nightmare will never be going to U-Haul again and I would never suggest anyone else go ever very bad customer service and awful standards absolutely not.

I rented a space for 10 years at the same location. At one point I moved to another unit to downsize and my original unit was FULL of mouse droppings, on the floors AND on my items. Upon leaving this second unit - although it wasn't as bad - I also had to get of many items again due to mouse droppings. I did tell them at the counter both times, and they just went "Oh"....nothing was ever done...I kind of thought that might be part of why I paid for insurance for those years? Perhaps in the future, damage from mice should be covered in the insurance and customers should be compensated. I also didn't like the fact that there are no bins for disposing of trash items. (Actually, there is but you have to pay). I spent 10 years and approximately $36,000 there (on a minimum wage job) and thought that wasn't fair. Also, I drove to that location NUMEROUS, NUMEROUS times only to have absolutely ZERO parking available. I couldn't afford to pay the extra money to have 24 hour access. Like I said, most days in the mornings there was NO parking to be had. And I work until 8:00 - 9:00 pm so couldn't get there after work. The wait in the line is always FAR TOO LONG. When picking up my reserved cargo van yesterday, I was in line for about 45 minutes. Before moving, I have often waited 20-40 minutes just to make a storage payment. I often had to leave there to go to work before I could get my payment processed. (I had no credit card at the time to do my payments on line). I do feel that the storage units are safe. The general area is tidy (with the exception of the rodents, which can be VERY damaging and costly to customers)! The staff are okay, but I think they could DEFINITELY use more help in there! And MORE parking....or a different area for staff parking, as they often occupy all of the customer spots!

I find the pricing for a 10x10 absolutely ridiculous. When asking the staff why the prices are like this they told me that it was head office which was located in texas. They then provided me with the phone number to contact somebody in Texas. When I contacted Texas they told me it was the general manager who made the decision of constantly raising the price when I had actually gotten in touch with the general manager which took about 3 to 4 business days, the general manager said that she was not the one that decided upon this and it was head office. So ultimately each location just gave me the runaround between Rexdale in Ontario and then head office in texas. They are not competitively priced. I will be moving not too long from now out of this unit because I had found a better unit in Vaughan which was an indoor unit, unlike the unit that I have right now with U-Haul. Their prices were much cheaper than yours.

Since I arrived to Toronto from Ottawa with the U-Haul truck, I called Rexdale location and asked if I could park the truck there overnight as I am moving in the next morning (Monday) into a storage unit as I couldn't get movers during Sunday through U-Haul; they were very accommodating. I arrived and the staff were so friendly, she walked me to the storage and assisted me with the access. Those reviews on Google are so harsh and don't do justice to the staff at this location. I reserved a storage unit which they gave to a another customer. I was offered a bigger unit with no payment for the first month. When I went back to the unit there was a lock for bib payment after I was told I wouldn’t have to pay for the first month. When it was time to move to a smaller unit after the first free month, they didn’t know how to process the payment and another lock was put on my unit for non payment. For a starter head office told me over the phone when I reserved the unit that it was going to be $1 for the first month since I was renting a moving truck with them which to i already had reserved BUT when I picked up the truck for the 2 days to complete the move went back to get the unit and needles to say I was charged a full amount on the storage $289+tax i was told that the $1 fee only applies to those who are coming from other town I was also charged extra $60 for being 1 hour late returning the truck when I wasn't even past my 48hrs on the rental of the truck also I was charged on my mastercard before I even picked up the truck when I specifically Buy customer service then I could use other methods of payment. SO AT THE END OF ALL THIS I WAS BETTER OF GETTING A MOVING COMPANY TO COMPLETE MY MOVE IT WOULD HAVE COST ME LEES THANE WHAT I PAID IN 2 TIME TRUCK RENTAL AND STORAGE THAT WAS ONLY USED FOR 5 DAYS VERY DISAPPOINTED

I've moved into two other self-storage facilities in GTA recently. U-Haul on Rexdale was the best by far. I'm a female. I could not lift the door on the locker in one facility any more than 2 and 1/2 feet. It was hard getting in and out. I vacated my items without even asking for a refund. The other facility didn't bother to clean out the locker before renting. I ended up spending a day purchasing a small broom, and sweeping the entire locker ... I am not comfortable with the locker without having washed the floor, so I keep a box of sanitary wipes in the locker. The security at U-Haul is excellent because access hours are limited, and there appears to be a number of people always around. It is very very very clean and apparently, the lockers are kept in good repair. Furthermore, the staff are very considerate and friendly. The individual who introduced me to the locker initially, took the time to be very explicit and clear in her instructions. If U-Haul on Rexdale, had a locker large enough, I would definitely be staying despite this location being quite a distance from my home in North York.

My only comment is a person blocked direct entrance to the "unloading area". I am a senior citizen and found it difficult to unload my belongings. He didn't move his vehicle to make our job easier. The frustrating part for me is that he was still there after we had unloaded and left.

Bad experience number 1. They cut my lock off without my permission number 2. The uhaul truck ran into my truck and messed it up and lied about it because the driver was driving recklessly and I had to call the police just to get information from the driver

Only one of the 3 staff members working behind the desk knew what they were doing. She had to help the 2 others with everything. 3 people were in line in front of me and I was next it took 25 minutes for me to get to the check out desk and another 20 mins to get the keys to my storage unit. The staff is very slow and is unable multi task. This location is convenient however I would not recommend others this time. I did appreciate the staff member resetting my swipe card when it was not done done properly the first time and bringing out a rodent trap out to me at the storage unit. All other U-Haul locations were able to use the online reservation info however I had to fill out a paper copy at this location.

It took well over an hour to get our trailer. Hooked it up and brake lights didn’t work. Staff slowly tried to fix them and an hour later said they were “tired of this”...all the while not communicating with us. Then offered a trailer at a facility at least a half hour out of our way. We asked for a truck then instead. Were given one another 1/2 hour later reluctantly with very rude staff. Our kids even commented how rude the staff were.

Mark went above and beyond! My helper didnt show up. Mark saw me crying and helped load the truck. Totally above and beyond! I couldn't have done it without him. I hope uhaul recognises Mark!!!!

I had a storage unit for quite a long time. Over that period, the facility was always clean and well kept. While I did not often have any interaction with staff, when I did, they were quite helpful.

You cancelled my 26 foot truck rental just 2 days before I was to pick it up, forcing me to get an last minute rental. I've emptied my uhaul locker that I've had for 6 years. Will NOT recommend UHAUL!

**Abuse to customer parking!* staff uses (customer paid parking only) for own needs. No snow plowing in main lot, access doors were blocked several times, Chaotic and poorly monitored loading zone.

Staff at this location clearly hate their jobs! Sharmaine looked annoyed when I walked in, took 40 min to check me in, only inside unit available, movers waiting with a full truck, mngr Dawn is a joke
