I requested to hold my property due to until resolution of family legal issues several times. However no one listen my request and dispose of my property. It’s not good for organization. I don’t know how legal department of local U-Haul at Toronto area works. Main office and local storage facility working different ways one says it’s going to auction and local storage facility GM dispose. Good job. I lost $50,000 property. Thank you

I really needed a storage unit so I thought U-Haul would be a good bet so I reserved one online and got a moving company to help me move all my belongings as I am alone here in toronto as a student once we got to the unit a very rude and unfriendly staff member told me “no we have no storage go somewhere else” I was confused as I had reserved the unit but apparently it’s first come first serve U-Haul do better you need to make sure people know this because what am I supposed to do? I had all my stuff with me with no where else to go an hour away from my friends house where I was staying and I had to pay my moving company for three extra hours because of this ordeal. The lady would not help me whatsoever and I started crying then all of a sudden she was like there is another facility (this was all at the Queensway facility) the other place was rexdale Blvd so we drive there about 30 minutes away and get there and they also tell me no u it’s but the lady at the previous place told me she had called and reserved a u it for me there I was furious and did not know what to do like come on U-Haul plus the lady at the fest had no idea whatsoever how to do her job they do not what to help you here. Then the manager comes out and they talk and she says yes sure we have a unit. Finally my stuff moved in I leave it there for exactly one month and I come back to get it and there are literal cockroaches on my furniture so many of them half dead and half alive it was disgusting I had to throw my stuff away I told the staff and they did not seems to care they just told me to call this number as per usual with businesses like these. Absolute nightmare will never be going to U-Haul again and I would never suggest anyone else go ever very bad customer service and awful standards absolutely not.

At one point I moved to another unit to downsize and my original unit was FULL of mouse droppings, on the floors AND on my items. Upon leaving this second unit - although it wasn't as bad - I also had to get of many items again due to mouse droppings. I did tell them at the counter both times, and they just went "Oh"....nothing was ever done...I kind of thought that might be part of why I paid for insurance for those years? Perhaps in the future, damage from mice should be covered in the insurance and customers should be compensated. I also didn't like the fact that there are no bins for disposing of trash items. (Actually, there is but you have to pay). I spent 10 years and approximately $36,000 there (on a minimum wage job) and thought that wasn't fair. Also, I drove to that location NUMEROUS, NUMEROUS times only to have absolutely ZERO parking available. I couldn't afford to pay the extra money to have 24 hour access. Like I said, most days in the mornings there was NO parking to be had. And I work until 8:00 - 9:00 pm so couldn't get there after work. The wait in the line is always FAR TOO LONG. When picking up my reserved cargo van yesterday, I was in line for about 45 minutes. Before moving, I have often waited 20-40 minutes just to make a storage payment. I often had to leave there to go to work before I could get my payment processed. (I had no credit card at the time to do my payments on line). I do feel that the storage units are safe. The general area is tidy (with the exception of the rodents, which can be VERY damaging and costly to customers)! The staff are okay, but I think they could DEFINITELY use more help in there! And MORE parking....or a different area for staff parking, as they often occupy all of the customer spots!

michael m. | Overall ExperienceI find the pricing for a 10x10 absolutely ridiculous. When asking the staff why the prices are like this they told me that it was head office which was located in texas. They then provided me with the phone number to contact somebody in Texas. When I contacted Texas they told me it was the general manager who made the decision of constantly raising the price when I had actually gotten in touch with the general manager which took about 3 to 4 business days, the general manager said that she was not the one that decided upon this and it was head office. So ultimately each location just gave me the runaround between Rexdale in Ontario and then head office in texas. They are not competitively priced. I will be moving not too long from now out of this unit because I had found a better unit in Vaughan which was an indoor unit, unlike the unit that I have right now with U-Haul. Their prices were much cheaper than yours.
