BRIANNA W | First ImpressionsI made my reservation on line and expected and quick pickup of the trailer. That was not the case. I arrived for p/u at 9:30am and left exactly 1 hour later. There was only one person working the counter and she was very pleasant and competent but there more customers than she could quickly process. I had 6 groups of customers ahead of me and each group consisted of 1-3 people. This meant a lot of people standing and waiting in a small space. Everyone was waiting patiently for their turn. Even though I had made my reservation well in advance my requested trailer was not available because it had not yet been returned. My reservation was to return a local trailer. It ended up that I was a given a one way trailer that was reserved by someone else. My rental worked out great but I’m not so sure about the person who had reserved the trailer that ended up with. The checkout process needs to be streamlined. The employees were competent and very pleasant but very overworked. Check in was quicker. I was the only one checking in and it took less than 5 minutes. I expected a similar check out process.

I had an employee try and rent a truck from them Sunday and the woman at the desk got into an argument with him and refused to rent to him. I went there to solve the problem and had to get a smaller truck because the canceled the reservation.

ALLEN GHad a reservation for a week. Drove 4 hrs, spent night in hotel and received a text on the 9th truck was upgraded to a 26’ truck because of equipment availability and would be ready for pickup on the 10th at 1:30 PM. I got to the location at 1:20 and was told they had rented my reservation to someone else and I would not get a truck. The older lady working that day told me I was supposed to be there at 11:00 and I tried to show her the email I received for a 1:30 pick up and she said she didn’t need to see it she has it on her computer. She got very upset at this point which made me very upset as well. She the gave me to the younger man working there that day because she was going to “loose her mind”. The younger man was very helpful and worked me through the process all the while the older lady was constantly ranting and raving. Terrible experience for something that should have been a simple reservation and pick up. I will not use this location again because I feel this was a racial issue and have never experienced anything like it from a business.

Franquisia WWhen appointment is scheduled would be good to say where to go to get access. Had to drive around the site a bit to figure out where office is. Would also be good if people at the desk could speak up a bit. Was hard to hear them sometimes.

Sherry COn-site pickup process is very inefficient. I pre-registered using the app but was still asked for the same information at the service rep desk. Pickup process is too slow. Dropoff process using the app was excellent.
DAVID ZWe came into the Skyland Blvd facility on March 1, 2025 SPECIFICALLY to reserve a storage unit beginning May 1. We were given a written statement marked "quote" but the young man at the counter told us it was not a problem and our space was reserved regardless of what the paper said. On a hunch, I phoned in on April 30 to find out that, in fact, the piece of paper provided to us on March 1 was worthless and only a quote. It did not guarantee us the space we thought we reserved and the young man grossly mislead us. A somewhat helpful older woman assisted me by phone on April 30 to allegedly clear up the matter and told me I was "lucky" because there was still space available. I went through the gymnastics of providing my son's name, both of our contact info and my credit card. I even went so far as to explain my ex-husband was handling move out with my son and it was in everyone's best interests if everything was handled ahead of time. When my son arrived on May 1 there was STILL NO RESERVATION FOR HIM!!! Additionally, the size space we had now reserved TWICE was no longer available and coincidentally we had to rent a larger, pricier space (keep in mind that at first my son was led to the appropriate size space however it already had a lock on it - i.e., it had theoretically been sold twice!). Furthermore, the woman on site assisting him abruptly decided she "needed food" and left him in the middle of the efforts for what was apparently her lunch. We are sorely disappointed with the experience we had at U-haul but given that it was move out "day" we didn't have a lot of options, notwithstanding we had prepared months in advance.
Rocco S | First ImpressionsCalled ahead for auto transport. Told my oversize tires would fit. When they didn’t I was forced to pay for extension parts that can only be used with U-Haul trailer. Was also charged $30 for a hitch that on your website lists for 12. No sense of ugency, jokes about not being there when the phone rang, associate left us while in the middle of trying to figure out a solution, and was found in the warehouse completely moved on and shooting the breeze with another employee! Then no discount offered for inconvenience of the miscommunication about the tires fitting or matching the price listed online! Poor all the way around!

PAUL SAlthough I had a reservation and there were 4 trailers that fit what I reserved I was told the trailers there had other reservations. I stood my ground and was finally given what I had reserved (I was at the reserved location at the reserved time.) This is not the first time I have had an issue at this location. In August 2024 I reserved a trailer to take my stored “box” to my home to unload it and although I reserved a trailer there were none available so we had to unload it to our truck and make several trips.
Blackshear CI was able to make a reservation yet when I arrived nothing was available, I had to get a larger size

I have rented from this location many times before and this was typical of past returns. Unfortunately, this did not happen and I had to call three times to finally get my ticket closed. Then Uhaul tried to charge me for an extra day. Extremely frustrating experience.
MATTHEW MI made the reservation for weeks in advance for a 9' cargo van. Four days prior to pick up date, I was contacted and was informed that the vehicle I made the reservation was not going to be available. I was disappointed to say the least. On the day of pickup, I pulled in into parking lot and saw that there's was a 9' cargo in the lot. When I asked, I was told that they couldn't honor my original reservation because it was already reserved. My complain is that the minute the 9'cargo became available, I should've been contacted and ask if I wanted to change trucks. That's not counting that, I rented some pats that were not given to me, I rented a storage unit as well and the one given to me was already occupied so it needed to be change. In all it took over an hour to fix all the problems. Good employees but overall experience left too much to desired. And, is was not that busy.

CHANDRA HThere was used chewing gum in wrapper in passenger door. Also the amount posted was like $29, but with insurance etc, it was over 150 Plus we put in. Over $40 in gas. It did not even have enough gas in it to get back to town to fill up. Also only needed a pick up truck that was $19, but they wanted credit card and not cash or debit card for the pickup truck. We only need it for approx 6 hrs.

ASPEN CCustomer service was horrid. I reserved a car dolly and truck. When I arrived I was greeted with "Oh it's you. We ain't got that dolly. Then nothing. No suggestions, no options, just staring at me. I ended up going with a more expensive Box truck and trailer. I was forced to pay an upcharge and was charged $150 more than the quoted $200 for what i booked. No apologies, no discounts or compensation. I just got starred at until I figured out what I needed to do to the predicament i was left in after being lied to. The trailer didn't work properly and I wasn't even able to use it. Still payed the full amount for equipment that wasn't what I reserved and didn't work properly. Highway robbery
MARK LThe right side mirror was broken. Once moved to the proper location it would move outward while driving. I called the location to let them know the problem which is obviously a significant safety issue and I was informed that they did not have another truck my size to rent me. I was not offered another truck or any other type of assistance. I did call uhaul corporate to notify them of the issue. A side mirror not working on a large Uhaul is unacceptable and could lead to a tragic accident. Also, technical difficulties were an issue and the website was not able to be used which I understand happens time to time. The movers named Lewis Pro Move called the morning of the move seeking additional payment due to a flight of stairs. Movers in the past did not seek more payment. Once I mentioned that I would have to contact Uhaul regarding their request, they decided that additional payment was not required. Two hours later and several texts and phone calls later they informed us that they would not be able to move as promised. This obviously caused a hardship and was very frustrating. Since the app didn't work, I had to spend too much time on the phone waiting to speak to a representative. I have used Uhaul in the past and this was not a good experience.

First day we went in the guy at the counter had to go outside to get an answer to every question we had. this happened about 5 times before the gentleman outside came in himself. They tried to send us with a emply ubox, when my husband pointed it out the female said he was being aggressive to her and he shouldnt because she was a female. We spent thousands of dollars with uhaul for our move and this location/experience was horrible. I will never deal with this location again. We had to wait over an hour one time because noone was there that could drive a forklift. The rudeness and lack of knowledge was the worst, they acted like they did not need our business. will not recommend this location or process to anyone.

My only suggestion of improvement are the timed lights inside the storage facility. It would be nice if the lights stayed on longer for those cleaning or loading their storage unit. A huge thumbs up for the inside "free for all" designated location where customers can either take or leave items for free. Yes, for those looking for a storage unit, I would suggest UHAUL on Skyland Blvd. Thank You.

Every time I had an issue and had to call or go in to fix the problem the staff was always rude and had attitudes, the women at least. They did not notify me (email or text me) when it was time for my first payment and I had to pay a $20 late fee because of it. They had never sent me anything about the app or mentioned autopay when I first got my storage unit, which I did not appreciate. I was not notified about a price raise on my unit until my next payment. When I called and asked how I could get my regular price back, they told me I had to enroll in autopay and when I did the price was still raised, so they lied to me. Overall, I was not satisfied with the service and cancelled my unit.

Heather S | First ImpressionsAlthough we were disappointed to find out that our storage unit was on a second level and only accessible through steep stairs, when we specifically told the reservation agent on the phone and booking that we had heavy furniture, I do not believe that was the fault of the local staff. I believe we were calling a call-center during the reservation. Period once we got to the Skyland U-Haul location they had no first level left and they said that it’s a common problem that when people make reservations, they are not told up their set up. I feel bad for the staff at that location because it sounds like that is a common thing that happens they are the ones left having to explain to an upset customer. Although there were no additional spaces left on the first floor and no other options for us, the manager to at least give us a free lock for our troubles and we somehow managed to get the furniture up on the second floor between my son myself and three other adults who helped us! We did not have time to look for another storage unit anywhere else as we had a deadline so we were forced to make it work. I would rest this location again because again it wasn’t their fault but I would definitely tell people when making reservation to ask a lot of questions to make sure they’re what they need.

They count not even get a hold of the GM. I even sent an email with my questions regarding my daughter checking in for the storage unit and never received a response. But the day she went in to sigh the contract everything went very smoothly for her and she said the staff was extremely nice. I think we were more stressed over a 1,000 miles away hoping she would not have any issues. Glad everything working out perfectly for her. No issues at all.

After the First Gentlemen who opened was mean and curt with the customers, Robin was a breath of fresh air. We came in on July 26th 2023 at 7 AM. Although we had a reservation, the gentlemen told us he didn’t have a truck or a storage unit. He didn’t even look for it. He sent us away. Robin found it and got us squared away with a smile. We will come back! Two students at UA do we would’ve been lost without her. Thanks again!!

Every time I needed an employee for assistance, I had to wait 10+ minutes. The parking lot is terrible and inaccessible. The manager was incredibly rude the two times I interacted with him, including one time where I was trying to solve an ADA issue. The only reason this gets two stars is because the non-manager employee were kind and generally helpful.

Arrived that next morning early at the facility, I was also renting a 16’ truck and needed a unit to store items and I only had one day to do it in. The facility representative told me that I could not get or be assigned a unit until I had items ready to put in the unit. This didn’t make any sense to me but I just let it go and completed the rental got the keys and went outside. She had given me the wrong size truck keys were to the largest truck on the lot instead of a 12’. Went back in to argue that, which was another waste of time and a big deal getting her to understand that. Finally left the building over an hour behind schedule. Went back to the store with the first load and was given a unit with a lock already on it. Went back to desk and was given another unit with a lock on it. Went back and was given a unit outside that was 1/2 the size I reserved. Went back and they told me that all other units were already rented and that I should have reserved it that morning because they had just rented the last 2 they had available. After searching and searching they gave me a unit outside that was much smaller than I reserved and not climate controlled and not in the promotion and rent was much higher than I had reserved. Was supposed to also get a free lock which they would not honor because it was no longer a online Reservation. Barely got her things out on time and then had to unload in the dark trying to fit her things into the much smaller space. Rude employees and management. Never again! Now they are not refunding my rental fees after closing out and emptying the unit. Absolutely the worst and I have used many storage facilities-NEVER AGAIN!!!!

The mgr overheard the interaction with me and the customer service team member and stopped what he was doing to assist me. He was very helpful At this point, I was so upset that I decided to move out sooner. Jonathan H | Overall ExperienceThe main problem with this facility is that inside storage units are too small and access is very inconvenient. My email gave me a price of $74 and the receipt I was given said $119. The renewal notice also said $119. I did add insurance, but it was certainly not $43 per month. The size of these units is barely worth $74. They are certainly not worth $119. The halls are too narrow, so you can't get some furniture into the unit. Access to the unit in one way in/one way out. If someone else is loading/unloading, you can't get anything in/out except a few boxes and small items while front door is blocked. To make that more inconvenient, if you are parked at the front door with a trailer or U-haul, you are blocking or being blocked by the U-haul drop off area. Perhaps the purpose of these inside units is boxes and small items only, but that should have been made clear on the website when the unit was offered. Thankfully this unit was free with the rental of a truck. I would not have paid for this unit, which is why I moved out before the next months fee was due.

The storage hours are until 10pm but you can never get in through the front gate until 10pm which is exactly where our unit was. Incredibly inconvenient to have to go and use the side door opposite end of the facility for anything after 7pm. We asked if there was a pest problem when we moved in and told no, but the dead belly up cockroaches everywhere was a little concerning. If I had any other choice for storage I would not have been there. I appreciate that they were dead, but for the number of people there, one should be able to find the time to sweep or vacuum them daily. People are nice and helpful but the overall facility is in desperate need of a good cleaning and overhaul

Rented a truck online with mobile check in that did not work. A representative who lied about procedures, costing me valuable time, so much so that I almost had to extend my truck rental, wrong size unit reserved, then unavailable unit reserved, then wrong size unit reserved again and then finally the found a unit that I had to make work. Rushed to throw everything in the unit, so I did not have time to replace the 4 gallons of gas used to then be charged $5/per gallon. When the current price is $2.88/per gallon. On and then my reserved unit went from $89.99 climate controlled to $109.00 not climate controlled. I’m done. Enjoy the money you have already received because there will not be any more coming from me.

My son moved in after office hours and found a full bedroom set in his storage unit. The bedroom set is still in the unit and hopefully it will be inspected prior to someone else moving in, as it took away much of the storage space available to my son. He was leaving to return home early the next day, so he wasn't able to contact anyone prior to moving his things in to have the situation remedied. He also discovered a very large dead rodent dangling from the wire mesh on top of his unit. We have also always been given the first month (May) of storage rental for free, as my son is a college student. I contacted your establishment several times requesting reimbursement for the first month and was denied. I'm not sure why so much has changed over the past couple of years, but we certainly were not happy with our most recent experience.

The staff are helpful and friendly. It’s clean. Easily accessible. The automatic lighting always works. I set up the storage space rental on line in just a fee minutes at the end of my daughter’s freshman year at Bama. She moved her stuff in. The 24-hour access always worked. When it came time to move her stuff out, there were adequate carts and access. All her belongings were clean and intact. No signs of insect or rodent activity. All good. We’ll be back!

Ronald M | First ImpressionsThis storage unit was supposed to be climate controlled but this was not the case as there was obviously some kind of leak (because there wasn’t a proper ceiling above the unit) causing water damage and mold to form on all of my furniture within the short time I had it stored here. The storage facility had to know about this because all the wood around my unit was also ruined, but they never notified me of such and I only found out as I was moving out. There was also a rat problem in the facility and I was again not informed of this; the staff’s response was to drop a rat trap into the unit from above (since there’s not a ceiling) which cracked a piece of my furniture. There were rat droppings throughout the unit. Because of the poor conditions of the unit/facility, I had to throw out everything since it was ruined- such a waste of money. Moreover, I could never reach the facility on the phone. Lastly, the majority of the storage units are off the ground level and can only be accessed by a set of wheeling stairs- such a hassle to move stuff in/out of. I can not stress enough not to get a storage unit here- horrible experience

The employee was snippy and very short with me throughout my checkin process and was extremely bothered that she had to show me and my son how to get to the available units so we could see which unit to rent. We had to trample through a repair garage with tools, boxes, fans and crap all over as well as a car the repair guy was working on. It wasn’t until the very end of the process, when I was paying for the unit, I had asked for her name, which she hesitated in answering that she decided to be nice. I am in the customer service business and I would never treat a customer the way she treated me and this transaction. She does not represent UHAUL company well and in my opinion she shouldn’t be working in customer service.
