The general manager has a serious attitude problem. I asked for a resolution to changing the card on file taking someone off the account and she wasn’t able to do it for 8 months. Horrible power trip.

The Vestavia location was top ter (EXCELLENT!!!) The Valley Ave (Homewood ,AL) horrible experience with the exception of the you lady on duty. I was at the location during the 3 pm hour. She is awesome. But from the moment I walked in there was a white guy dress in UHAUL apparel I spoke as I entered and he never spoke or acknowledged I was there. Another lady came in and she greated the room as she entered and was only greeted back by me. After that the young lady came in with a bright spirit and turned the experience around. She was pleasant,helpful, and professional. At the end of the experience things turned again. I put trash in the business next door trash which I was unaware that I could not there were no posting. The young lady made me aware that I could not. I removed the items and loaded them on my truck. The owner show up and words were exchanged. I explained to him what happened ,apologized, and told him the item had been removed and that your employee to vouch that those items were removed. She later walked over too pictures of the i side of the trash can and gave me her phone qith the store manager on the phone. The store manage was very rude and aggressive in her tone. She stated to me to get my things out of his trash and that it had nothing to do with uhaul and that they were not running cameras back for the police because by this time I was on the phone with the police. The dispatcher heard the exchange between the store manager and I can asked me not to continue to speak with her. I was also told by the young lady before all of this when she informed me that I could not use that dumpster that it was a $200 fine that would be charged by uhaul. I would really like to speak with someone other than the manager of the Valley Ave location because this was a horrible experience when I have had my items in storage there for more than 6 years.

I was charged $7 more than originally agreed upon because I was "over the mileage." But I was over the mileage because I was moved to a less convenient location! I know $7 isn't a lot, but I paid extra to be inconvenienced. That seems wrong. The people were all nice and the equipment was good, but I might try a different company next time.

I was chastised for being late and not made to feel like my business was appreciated. They did not have the truck packed with the supplies I requested. I asked for a dolly. They did not have one. I asked to have blankets and tape. It was said that all would be in the truck. I had to ask for the blankets and forgot to ask for the tape. It was not a professional experience.

Michael PThe van I rented was very dirty. I was unable to clearly see through the front windshield, as it was covered in bugs and dirt. I was also unable to view the odometer upon entering the vehicle because of the "Change Engine Oil Soon" message that stayed for the duration of my rental. I had already had my reservation moved from the location I reserved it at without my knowledge, and had to rent from this location -- an additional 15 minutes from the original location. Because I was renting a cargo van, I was told that I was unable to return the van to a closer store, therefore having to pay extra mileage. I would suggest better maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicles at the Valley location, as well as more access to cargo vans and pick-up trucks at all locations. Lastly, stores should be required to notify customers when reservations are moved/changed by the store prior to pick up.

The reservations had my daughter name on it but it was mine and my card was used I’m not sure why it had the incorrect name . However the morning employee attitude is horrible and she hung up On my daughter but per the reviews I’m not the only who thinks that. I asked the afternoon worker for a final receipt because he told my husband to just put the kids down. He told me I had to wait 15 minutes for a receipt I patiently waited. Customer service not customer service anymore these days.

MATTHEW RI reserved a truck at a location close to my house and they changed location pick up. I had reserved lock, dolly and blankets. When I was rerouted to different location of truck they didn’t have the supplies I reserved. Lady in valley ave location was very rude. It was my first time renting a truck and I don’t know that I will rent U-Haul again. Truck was a newer truck and was easy to drive. Customer service needs to be better!!

After being told by representatives there were some and the inside were bigger than what I was told available and if course climate controlled which I didn't need and had to pay extra for and insurance.. the manager Ms. Andrea was helpful. The hired help a male who drove a white vehicle was unprofessional,rude,and resentful. I needed to use restroom which was at the office and locked. I waited til just before closing to have things moved and when I asked him to use it he was in his way to leave and complained that he was leaving and would have to walk all the hat way to unload ck it and then wait for me to finish using the bathroom and then have to pick it back up. I told him not to bother. He left as I was walking back down the inside lane to lo go inside building and lock my unit to leave. He didn't tell me I was to leave when he did. He reeked of marijuana in another occasion. I don't care. I care he is unprofessional. I noticed on the last two times I was there that there were vehicles parked inside after I came in only to sit there the whole time. Not getting out of vehicle or unloading or loading. Only sitting and left when I did and also parked at n car lot just sitting there also. Idk how they got inside yet they did. I moved out early due to these vehicles

I am going through identity theft right now and know who is behind it, so my A118 was part of my cousin doing and even though I was wrong letting it build up. Jordan has a heart and was helping me sort it out and was about to set up a plan of payment for that one so i could get it paid and out of my name. However, B252 was prepaid and who really keeps up with receipts when it is put in the system. Now i can not get my belongings due to the fact that Andrea said i have to have a receipt but by law since it is documented in y'all system I have a right to get my belongings out of that one. I have spoken with my lawyer as well and will be going forward with this, so if she has gotten rid of my belongings then I feel y'all owe me as well. My main concern was my laptop with documentation on it, my chest full of paperwork and some house items that i just brought. Overall, I really like the facility and hope in the future when all is resolved if I ever have to get a storage I can or even a U-Haul rental to move.

When we arrived yesterday to actually move in , we were informed that they were sold out of that type of unit . At that point, we had a moving truck full and a crew ready to unload . Because we needed a temp-controlled unit, we had to downgrade to a 10x15. Not everything would fit and it has been a massive headache on top of an already stressful move . Why offer advance reservations if this situation is a possibility ?! Will not be recommending .

In a so called secure unit, none of their cameras record just plays live video. I got a call to come close out my account I pay the guy cash & next thing I know I’m still getting a bill 4 months later! This place it’s owned and ran by scammers & thieves!

The only negative comment I have is that the air conditioning ducts would drip condensation or either it was rain as it would leak a lot more when it rained. This resulted in getting some of my items wet and ruined a nightstand. I brought up a clear plastic tarp to cover the area so my items wouldn’t keep getting ruined.

When I came from Tennessee to clean it out I was unable to get into it and the staff didn’t have the code. I had to have it cut off at my own expense. Make inside enclosed climate control storage units with building access with double doors where you can access them with larger furniture or whatever. We had to store an art piece at a location at UAB because it wouldn’t fit in the single access doors. It was an 4X8X2 enclosed art piece crate. We lacked about 2 inches from being able to get it through the inside access doors to the hallway to our storage room. But besides that, no complaints what so ever. Thanks Mr Phillips.

Also I need to get in touch with someone and cannot connect with a human about this storage facility. I’ve called multiple times and been on hold for the longest wait times eventually having to hang up, I’ve emailed, tried online chat and still cannot get the help I need. I hired movers who showed up with two movers when I ordered 3. Then it was very difficult to get my refund, because at one point they hung on when I called. Four times in a row. They wouldn’t answer they just picked up and hung up. It was not a pleasant uhaul experience.

I need to make sure I’m not charged $1000.00 my original drop off on the phone was Bessemer RD 35208 bham then an hour after the drop off a representative called me warning me of outrageous charges. We used the truck in a 10hr time frame, utilized UHAUL storage I spent over $600 in one day with this company now threats of a $1000 charge because a communications error. Can someone please make sure I’m not charged the fee. 205.667.3018 I will call the scheduling office at 9a today

The staff were very friendly and helped show us where our unit was and was very helpful in showing us the size options of the units. Fast forward to a week later - my husband drives over to drop off some items at the unit. Our code isn't working and he's confused as to why. Turns out we were "moved out of the system", our code was cancelled and a lock was put on our unit. Absolutely no notice whatsoever. Had we not shown up today our unit would have probably been sold, cleaned out, etc. And all of our belongings gone. Is it customary to move someone out without any notice whatsoever?!? He ended up having to resubmit all our information and start a new contract since our other one had been cancelled out. Thankfully we showed up today or who knows what would have happened.
