Michelle TBooked a truck three weeks in advance and confirmed twice—once with the Kings Highway location and again with the Christine Street location. Despite multiple confirmations and a final email the night before, there was no truck when I arrived after driving 3.5 hours. No communication, no apology, no solution—just a $50 refund offer. We had to spend eight hours on the road, over $200 in extra gas, and missed important family plans. Completely unreliable. Do not trust this location with your move.
DENNIS KWhen i picked my uhaul up from the branson 248 location i was told that if i dropped the uhaul off at the cape girardeau location that i would receive a $60 discount on the price. When i dropped it off the guys in cape had no idea about any discount so i called the branson location and the employee there called their store manager who called the store manager in cape who told them they already applied the discount but i was still charged the $60 plus i had to spend an additional $40 on fuel to drive the truck to the cape location instead of dropping it off at the location in Sikeston where i now live.

ROBERT EI had a low tire pressure light, but the technician took the tire pressure on all four tires and it was fine. It was assumed that the sensor was bad. I would recommend to keep spare sensors available and do not send customers out with a warning light.

BRUCE BThe equipment needs to be checked and fixed when they the person before returns the equipment. They hooked up dolly to my truck. Then I noticed the wheel tie down was shredded. Connected another dolly. I drove 15 miles to place to pickup van. When trying to tie down van noticed safety chain hook had been worn off. So had to get hotel and wait for U-Haul to open the next day to get another dolly. We should not have had to get a hotel room and wait over night for a working dolly.

steven t | Overall ExperienceMake sure you have them inspect it right in front of you. Our Uhaul was filthy inside. Also, there was no oil, so the engine was smoking not even 2 minutes off the lot. They did well in refunding us for the premium oil we bought, though. However, we selected the basic $20 coverage for the truck and at check out the receipt read that they charged us for the $28 insurance. Sneaky.

JESSICA CThe only issue was they gave no instructions on how to get in. Just said enter the code to access. Didn't tell us we had to put it in two key pads. One to disarm the alarm and one to actually get in. Then the door was having issues so we were not able to get in a couple times to get stuff out. We cleared out due to this issue . They were working on getting new key pads ( don't know if that was the issue). On a positive note staff was very friendly, it was very clean, and there were carts to wheel items back to your units and indoor loading and unloading zones.

ROY GI had a box in my car so I put it in the storage unit ran to get something to eat and came back my Loui V bag was stolen I feel it was an inside job because no one was in the storage facility when I was so out of all of the lockers why would they go to mine but anyway I called and told the manager he was literally sitting in the phone making scenarios then when I said I was going to call the cops to watch the tape he acted oblivious to the facts that my bag was stolen and asked me was it still there like what. When I asked did he view the tapes he acted like he couldn't work wherever you view the tapes at...stoping back by there today..Yea it is sad that they steel from the people that bring them business just sad I am pressing charges

When moving day arrives and help is on site it’s too late to make other arrangements. And the charge for fuel is estimated by looking at the gauge, which is basically a guess. The GM didn’t believe me that my code didn’t work even though I spent 20 years Active Duty with Top Secret clearance and years of using alarm/access control systems. So he went over and found out I’m not an idiot and my code didn’t actually work. He then gives me his code to use since he has to contact IT support and he will call me when it’s fixed. So I go back to the storage unit which is not located at the office and this makes my THIRD drive over on this Friday 28 July 2023. So using the GM’s code I gain access to the building where the storage unit was located. The unit I signed a contract for was already locked, with two locks. After screaming my frustrations to no one since this building is empty, I have to make my way back over to the office and let them know that the unit I signed contract for was already occupied. The GM takes over my paperwork, starts a whole new contract with a new unit assigned to me. I drive back over to the building, gain access with the GM’s code and go look into the new unit I’m assigned to. When I open the sliding door an alarm goes off so I immediately shut the door. I go back over to the office and inform them I did gain access to the storage building but was unable to inspect the newly assigned unit but I was leaving. The GM assured me he would call to let me know when my code would be working. Saturday arrives and just after noon I have not received a phone call yet so I go back to the storage unit. My code is still not working so I drive over to the office to let them know my code still is not working. I’m going to fill up the storage unit on Sunday, tomorrow, and I’m assured if I use the GM’s code all will be good. Today is Tuesday with no phone call saying everything is fixed so far but the business equipment I bought is stored and secured. Observing that office and the people who work there, evaluations need to be performed. I didn’t even mention the mistakes made on the first contract but pointing them out to the GM when he did a second new contract he corrected those mistakes even though I pointed the mistakes out to the first intake person and she has not the personality for sales. Rude and condescending started when I showed up to tell them the issues I was having in the beginning.

I realize it is hard to maintain a pest/bug/rodent free space with multiple people moving in and out. I realize bugs can come through the smallest crack, but I still think storage unit walk enclosures should be built from bottom to top. I did not like being able to see my neighbors mistress hanging into my unit. The facility advertises 24/hr security- 2 separate occasions a side entry door was propped open upon my arrival making me feel unsafe to enter the building. My unit door had a sensor that needed to be replaced, according to a security guard, when my alarm went off while I was sorting through my belongings, but it was never fixed. The new building is excellent and clean, but the prices are higher so I had to move to another building. U-Haul advertises a clean bathroom facility, which is a bonus. I found it odd that the restroom entry was outside of an interior storage unit facility. This is a disadvantage for both employees and consumer, as it’s apparently forgotten about when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing. I moved out early without a prorated discount- not impressed but I do not have experience with storage units nor do I have anything to compare my experience with.

The staff is just always so short with me and ALWAYS talks to me like I couldn’t be a bigger inconvenience. I had a storage unit there for almost two years never missed a payment and just never had a polite interaction with the staff. I tried my best to always be polite but it was never enough to gain a pleasant interaction. Outside of the reservation system allowing a room to get double booked, the unit didn't have the greatest ventilation as we did have some signs of light mold.

It was horribly inconvenient with no outside access. They do offer carts and have a friendly staff. I would only recommend this storage facility for small items. It is definitely not the route to go if your moving a house full of furniture!
