I have dropped off rentals here two times before and had a decent experience. This time I ran into a teenager with an attitude that I was working for him. I needed to put the equipment up so he didn’t have too.

JOSE LCedar Hill will be the location we use from now on. We tried Waxahachie then we were transferred to Desoto then another location in Desoto then finally Cedar Hill. They were a bit out of the way for us but had what we needed they were very friendly and fast. We were on the road quickly which we really appreciated. Hated we had to pay for the miles above and beyond because we had to go there for what we needed but at this point it is what it is. That would probably be my only complaint but that had nothing to do with this location. They were awesome!

I got a email yesterday saying I was charged for 2 extra days and I’m not happy at all. I will not use that location ever again. So I’m not a happy customer. I called them and they said I was to Che k I’m on an app and I was not told that.
DARLENE Bthe employee that hooked up the AT, didn't check my lights, nor make sure it was all the way down and latched. i had to latch it and ask her multiple time to check my lights, luckily I was paying attention and didn't drive off with it just sitting on top of the ball. it could have come undone. she was to busy talking and laughing with another woman.

VINCENT CI initially rented a trailer for four days. We returned it within two days. When I asked if I could have the money back for the two days I did not use they said NO......excuse was that their system isn't set up to give customers money back if the trailer is returned early. I JUST WANT TO PAY FOR WHAT I USED. Also, they had me drive the trailer back on the lot, (UNASSITED) . Nobody checked the trailer out, they just printed me a receipt and said have a nice day. I WILL NOT EVER USE UHAUL AGAIN!

CHARLES GMy 35ft camper was stolen from “secure lot”. Cc security cameras covering my spot and back exit gate were not functioning. Security footage that should have shown my trailer’s exit were never shared with police. Cedar Hill police detective told me U Haul staff were not very cooperative and didn’t allow police to review to security footage. I rented the same spot for 10 years. During that time my trailer’s was damaged two other times while parked there. Once by an attempted break in the other by being crashed into the front end breaking the electric jack. I recently witnessed employees driving box trucks thru the lot at hi speed and recklessly. The back electric gate has been broken and left open for days and weeks on different occasions. Monthly bill has increased nearly 50% over 10 years. Overall experience poor.

This caused some headache on my part to get corrected to be able to drop the equipment at my destination.

JAMES FYou all need to inform customers of your app and hidden fees. I don't care if it's a copper penny you let customers know that they'll have more money to pay after returning keys, and stop lying about the reason for the charge.

Then after I insisted he allowed me to use my email address. After this ordeal, the agent told me where to pick up my trainer and let me know me into the storage side. My trailer was not located there and I was locked in that area for about 30 min - not being about to get out of the gate. The trailer was in a different area. I was on a short time line and it took me over an hour. I will do everything I can to keep from renting from u-haul in the future - mainly because of the insistence of providing a mobile number. I get enough calls. I don’t need you selling or exposing my information.

MARK WWe were charged an additional "missing/damage fee" of $208 with NO indication of what that even means! A total rip-off, considering we already paid for a dolly and additional dozen furniture pads that NEVER CAME WITH THE VEHICLE as on the original invoice (which was over $1000). I raised my concern through uhaul's website as soon as I received the charge, and was told "I do not see any notes about the truck being damaged but I do see that upon pickup you had 24 furniture pads and upon return there were only 13." Dude, I returned every single one (12 - not 13) that I received. I was then told it would take up to 3 days for their internal dispute with the uhaul location. That's ridiculous, no: give me my money back or I'll get it myself. I had a representative call me the day after our rental return and essentially argue with me about my "check in" and "check out" (which was which) and then continue to tell me that *I* need to contact the location I picked up my uhaul from (in Georgia) because the location I dropped it off at (in Texas) apparently didn't have the information I recorded of my original rental pick-up. I will instead be raising a dispute directly with my card company, since uhaul can't be bothered to ensure swift and *accurate* online check-in and check-outs, and since they expect customers to do all the back-and-forth work to fix THEIR internal issues. I took my own photos outside of uhaul's requirements for my "check-in" and "check-out" to corroborate the truth here, and I'll be letting everyone know how much of a scam this turned out to be. I'M SO MAD >:(
Emily WI was charged $150 for gas. When I started my trip I had half a tank of gas. When I dropped the UhAul off I was at 1/4 tank of gas. So I was charged $150. I feel that $150 for 1/4 tank of gas is a bit excessive.

Johanna RI was thoroughly impressed with the atttention to detail and the customer orientation of the entire team at this location. The manager onsite is very accessible (unlie some of the previous locations I have encountered), and witnessed the manager go beyond to place a call to another locatin to locate a storage type that was unavailable at this location. The truck that I rented was clean and in good operating condition, and the staff was very professional, and their check in/out process was very well articulated to me on the front end and they were "PRESENT" and helpful during during the RETURN process. With all of the automation, most employees would just direct you to the App or allow the signage to direct the customer. these employees were at work until closing and offered their assistance to ensure me (the customer_ was totally satisfied with the service, the vehicle, and the process. Customer Service is immpeccable at this location and I highly recommend the Cedar Hill location to anyone who needs to move locally, or long distance. This staff will walk you though the process and offe r you the tips you need. Communication was excellent, and it is apparent that the manager is an effective leader and motivator. Also, the site was very clean and orgainized.
GWENDOLYN CI stood in line behind 3 other people to only get to the counter and he tell me oh I will take your keys if you are dropping off. Then I get a receipt of gas charge and mileage charge which he could have told me instead of rushing me off. Its nothing to go and get gas instead I was charged $51.00 for gas. If you take time with other customers take time with me.
Melinda BI had to pay for a dolly and pads that I didn’t use. The GM said she looked at pictures before my rental where the items were secured with the green tag but was not secured to mount to prevent it from moving around when driving. The result the dolly popped the green when I started driving. I didn’t even pay attention to what was in the bag hanging from side but was told those were the pads.but according to the GM the green tag was popped on that as well. I moved two basic full size beds, I moved my two 22 yr old daughters who didn’t have much of anything.. Two basic full size beds, two night stands, a small dresser, dog cage, some clothes bins. Nothing glass Didn’t fill but only 1/4 of the truck. I had my own dolly, and definitely didn’t have anything to use pads for. Very disappointing and I feel I was hustled and scammed.

CLARK JUpon arrival, and after waiting for 15 minutes, I was checked in and asked if I could hook everything up myself, which I having rented from U-Haul for years, said yes. The trailer they assigned to me was so caked in mud that I spent 10 minutes knocking mud off the front tire straps just to see that they were functional. I then hooked the trailer up and proceeded to pull to allow them to take a photo. When I stopped, I noticed one of the tires was flat, it was so covered with mud until I drove it and some of the mud came off, that I couldn't tell. I took the trailer back to the yard, disconnected it and hooked up the other trailer.
Jeffery IMy rating is over the 10 years I've had the unit. The issue is always in the suummer when the a/c unit goes out & takes weeks to fix. On the occasions I had to communicate with staff regarding this, they were not very helpful in rectifying the situation or compensating in any way.

The truck rental process took jumping through a few hoops, none of which were the locations fault, but the ladies on lication (NOT CORPORATE) didnt stop trying until they got me into a truck! My only complaint, is that although you have several people working at your location, no one ever answers the phone. Calls are always sent to the 800 number. It doesn’t matter what time you call, the phone goes unanswered. It is very frustrating when you need to speak with someone at the Cedar Hill location. When I actually did get through to someone at your location, they were supposed to call me back with an answer to a question on two units in the climate controlled section. Because I never heard back from anyone, I moved what I had in storage at your location to another facility and rented two additional units at that storage facility as well.

Had no one to call for assistance and had to leave the truck at the storage facility until the next day. It delayed our moving process and I was charged for services that were out of my control. A sign needs to be posted not to park returned trucks in that area so storage renters can access their units. The facility only has one entrance and I pay extra to have 24 hour access.

I went to another storage company and got a unit three times the size for the same amount. We were not compensated for our belongings. Why would I carry insurance on a unit that I pay a ridiculous amount of money for? By the time we moved our items, we had paid close to $20,000.00 for storage fees that UHAUL couldn't be bothered to keep safe! Would I recommend the Cedar Hill facility again? Absolutely not. We rented a trailer there a year ago, and someone neglected to check it back in. When we rented another trailer 2 weeks ago, the facility argued that we had never returned it. If this is what passes for service, I wish i had known that before we trusted them with our storage. I hope others have better luck than we did with our losses.

LUIS M | Overall ExperienceWe opened our account for a RV space in February 2022 and expected that it was being stored in a secure location with surveillance cameras, particularly focused on this area where many high-dollar vehicles are openly stored. On approximately March 23 we went to pick up the RV for a trip. As soon as it started, it was obvious there was a problem. The catalytic converter had been removed from the RV. Needing to be able to take the vehicle on a planned trip, we had to immediately get it repaired. It cost over $1400 for the repair. We talked with the office personnel who gave us the phone number for the manager. We called, but our calls were not returned. Office personnel told us that two other RVs had also been vandalized, but the U-haul facility had not filed a police report. Apparently they did file a report after several vehicles were vandalized and an investigator came to view the video, but since the cameras were either not working or not focused on the open storage area, there was nothing to see. We did file a police report and, as instructed, contacted RepWest Insurance. We explained that the cameras at the facility did not even capture the area of these vehicles for the monitoring company or were not functioning and not providing secure storage. Over the course of several weeks, we dealt with the adjuster, AndreaGomez Olea. She was quite condescending and, of course, continued to deny any liability on the part of U-Haul in spite of U-haul's failures. We finally gave up with her after her final, impertinent message, and decided at that point we would find another means of storage for our RV. U-haul promotes these facilities as secure and safe, but we certainly found in a short time that not to be true. We would not recommend anyone storing a boat, RV, truck or any other vehicle at this facility.

I couldn’t take it all so I rented a smaller storage to keep the remainder until I could pick it up. Picked it up, no issues and checked out. It was a very positive experience for me. I saw personnel changes but the quality of service and friendliness never changed.

I am aware that for an additional cost you can get a remote key but that’s more money going out the door. I switched to another location that has a drive up keypad and unlimited entry hours. The employees were nice.

Only found out when I arrived at the facility after making the 20 mile trip from my home. The initial monthly phone quote of $154.95 went to $167 and some change. Not that much money on a one time deal, but will add up for our new RV that we had planned on keeping there for as long as we own it which will equate to years. Was not at all happy with the surprise increase.
