So had to go in to get someone to move the truck in front if it. Shouldnt have been a surprise that I was picking up exactly when I came, because thats when I scheduled it for. Then, no moving blankets in the truck even though I preordered them. Whats the point of preordering if I have to go back in the store to pick them up? Then my key wasnt in the box, instead the app said I needed to go in and get my key (not what I signed up for). So, I had to go in 3 separate times when it should’ve been 0. Truck interior was dirty. Smelled like smoke and ash in cupholders. This is the first time this happened at this location so something must’ve changed with mgmt/staff?

Donald NFinding the unit after store closed was not easy to locate. So we will be back today to to get assistance. I had left my car at the location when I originally rented the truck. I ended up parking the rental truck and leaving it fulll and was hoping to turn the truck in early. Due to the map being hard to find the unit and we were just exhausted at that point. We will be back today.

THOMAS THad to return original trailer because I was mistakenly given the wrong one. The second one that I actually used ended up losing a tread 30 miles outside of Milwaukee. Had to have on side road assistance come out to fix it and replace it. The overall experience was poor.

TYRONE MI have used this location twice now in the last couple of months. Reservation agents were polite, friendly and efficient. The guys helping to hook up trailers were especially awesome, both times! First time was an older gent, super nice guy. Second time was a younger guy, who was very knowledgeable, respectful and friendly. Really a very good experience, both times. Thank you!! Keep up the good work!

Jeffrey KI rented 20 foot truck and auto transport. I was told I have to load the truck first then come back pick up the auto transport when I came to pick up the auto transport. I was told I did not pay for it. However, when I picked the truck I paid the full amount and the employer was extremely rude. I waited for three hours waiting for her to figure out if I paid or not, there were no manager at the facility. We had to call customer service to figure this out. Customer service mention that I paid in full and tried to assist her through the phone, but she was not still able to figure it out after all that I spent another hour for them to hook the auto transport to the U-Haul and I can definitely tell it was hooked very poor and not safe. She hooked it and didn’t even wait for me to ask any question she started walking away.

JAMES MWhen I rented a truck on 2/28. There was a small misunderstanding when I returned the equipment which lead to me being triple charged. I was also recently charged again although there was a promissory note on my account to stop charges. These charges led to my account being overdrawn. I could not by necessities for my new home or food. I had to borrow money until the money was returned. This was my first time using this location and will be the last. My experience has been a nightmare.

Marquitta M | First ImpressionsWhen I called after picking up my truck to ask if I could drop it off at a different location, I was told yes as long as the other location was okay with it (because I had a one way). I understood that because of the mileage, etc. It would be a slightly bigger payment than I was originally quoted per a conversation I had the day before with an employee. I called the other location and the employee said "yeah I have no problem with that." I dropped it off at that location and when I got my finalized bill I was charged the extra fee that I expected AND a $286 fee for a "wrong drop-off location." I was NEVER told that this additional fee would occur or I would have scrapped my whole plan. I tried to dispute it with corporate and had an incredibly rude manager try to tell me that I was told this from the start.... which again, I wasn't. I am extremely frustrated with this experience and wish that both the employees would have more clearly explained this. I am also very disappointed in corporate for being so unwilling to do anything for me... oh and this is after I was told they would call me back within 72 hours and I had to call a week later because no one followed up. I never have issues like this with companies and I am not one to complain, but this will likely be the last time I ever use U-haul. Typical large company doing what they can to make sure they get their money and unwilling to work with you to resolve it.

LARON TThis location texted me approximately 4 hours into my 24 hour rental that they had customers waiting for equipment. Upon my arrival to this location about 2 hours later, I saw no customers; but I did see many many many trucks. The text was uncalled for. It came as I was driving on the interstate. They did not need my truck because I they had customers waiting. I hate it when a business lies to me.
Claudette DDonovan did an excellent job of setting me up with a trailer and blankets. Very professional. And the 2 young men that hooked up the trailer did a great job too. If you want the best uhaul experience, I would recommend this location.

TIMOTHY MThe reason I gave my experience a poor rating is because the clerk who initially assisted me (his name was Anthony) was completely rude and did not understand how to treat me as a customer. Upon attempting to pick up my rental, he stated my reservation was not in the system. I showed him my rental reservation on my phone with all the information stating I reserved the vehicle. He continued in a very dismissive fashion that I did not have a reservation and maybe my reservation was at a different location. I again showed him my reservation document on my phone but he insisted that nothing showed in the computer. He stated it was not his problem and I said you are representing UHaul so it is your problem. I had to remind him that he represented your company so he needed to watch how he spoke to customers. His attitude was extremely dismissive and uncaring to say the least. I asked him to call the manager up to the front. When he arrived (I think his name was Donovan) he took about 10 seconds to clear up the situation. He showed Anthony where he missed my reservation in the system and was looking in the wrong area. I thanked Donovan for his quick action and excellent customer service to find my reservation. I turned to Anthony and said “no apology huh…unbelievable”. Anthony is not a good representation of your company and should probably not be in the front assisting customers. He was terrible and to add insult to injury he did not have the decency to apologize for his unacceptable behavior. I will probably not rent from UHaul again after this experience but may come back due to Donovan’s great care to assist me. Undecided. Unhappy Customer

Even afterwards when I received my bill and was charged for gas, I called to dispute the charges and he took the time to go and check and see that the gas was over the necessary line and he refunded me that charge. Excellent service by your employee! I am sorry but I do not see his name on the paperwork.

THEODORE HRented a tow dolly. Getting the rental was quick and easy. The person helping me hook up the dolly was rude. Was told by the desk worker it was an extra $20 for the person outside to help me hook up the car. Being towed. At first he refused, then came back and said he’d do it for $30. After some back and forth, he accepted the $20. I tried to ask some clarifying questions, and he asked me if I read the instructions. I said I watched the video, then he replied then I should know the answer. He said he knows what I need to do, but he wasn’t going to share that with me. He had forgotten to secure one of the chains to the car being towed, and when I got home, I had to retighten the tire straps. Not worth the extra $20.

Duane H | Online Move InThe staff was good and helpful. However I had my items stored in a inside 10x10 storage space. Had it in there for two year approximately (2022- 2024). I chose the inside storage unit to bettet protect my items. In the process of the two years, there was apparently a ceiling leak or something that led to water flowing into my unit. I had a big section couch and some paints, in this storage unit. Paintings was warped due to the water damage. And there was significant staining rhe fabric of the couch and rusting to the metal clips that would've kept the sectional in place. Mind you, my couch had plastic wrap on it, but the water was still able to get in somehow. I don't recall getting notice of any possible water leaks which would've allowed me to check my storage or make arrangements to protect it. But either way, I got an inside unit to better avoid damage to my property. Imagine my surprise when I open up my storage unit, which seemingly looked fine at first glance. Believing my items are fine, and picking them up to see they're damaged. I got someone to clean it and see about removing the damage- but the furniture service couldn't remove the outer damage fully. Things like this happens but it definitely lessens my comforts of using or recommending this Uhaul in the future.

THERESA C | Overall ExperienceI would recommend this location, hands down. Most of the employees were very helpful, especially when we first started renting a space about two years ago. That helpful attitude has slipped somewhat lately yet it’s still good. The only reason I dinged the location is because the bathrooms in the storage area haven’t worked for I believe over a year. That’s ridiculous. One thing I’d like to mention is that when I reserved the second unit, I asked if it would be on autopsy like my first unit and was told yes. So I specifically asked if I needed to do anything to make that happen and was told no, that it was set up on autopay so would be paid. In fact, the woman helping me was irritated that I asked twice, which fit with her less than helpful attitude from the beginning. And nope, , it wasn’t on autopay so I ended up with a penalty charge. Not the worst thing to happen but I mention it because this situation also reflects how some employees attitudes - I believe they are new employees - have changed since we first reserved a storage unit. Yet overall we’ve felt grateful for this storage location. The service started out as six stars out of five - off the charts - yet has slipped since then. After a few visits to the front desk within the last six months, I do believe some of the new employees attitudes need some adjusting as customer service willingness and friendliness is going down, which is vastly different from the team we dealt with two years ago. The climate controlled units are wonderful 👍🏼 I’d recommend them. Just get the bathrooms fixed and hire a couple more friendly helpful staff and the location would be off the charts again.

My frustration came from the app that frequently wouldn’t load, would stall out on the last page, or wouldn’t have the tabs that were reported in the email confirmation (there was no pick up my truck tab that I could see easily).

In the last month, talk have received over $400 from me and now I have no money to take care of myself for the rest of the month because of your ridiculous rules about not prorating. I will not be using you all again and will NEVER store things or recommend your services to anyone.

The area is always clean no debris around and my bill was accessible to change payment methods. I am a bit upset that the pricing has gone up soi much just for bike storage but it is what it is. If my spot is available in november, I plan to be back.

And make notes when they're given. I owed a small balance and one of the employees stated it was more I told her it wasn't but I'll be there on Friday to close the balance out. When I made it there to close it. The employee mentioned it wasn't there I told him it was supposed to been NOTED! After 15 minutes of me insisting I still want to pay it because I didn't want anything to come up later amd the balance would be larger. He still couldn't fi d it. Finally he found it and said wow..someone took it out of the system as tho it was paid already. This is why I say they need to be a bit more attentive because if they're doing this on a regular or here and there they can cause the company thousands and thousands of dollars in loss funds. However I am very pleased with Uhaul storage for my storage and the security of my storage unit. Thank you.

Even though It was not in use. Contacted them multiple times because maybe that person was misinformed. Didn’t get through got hung up on multiple times. Ridiculous, now I’m being charged multiple fees because they wouldn’t allow me to close my unit. Tried to close mid October it is now February.

More frustrating was the fact that power was apparently only turned on to certain outlets at certain intervals, even though you are paying for a spot that has a power outlet. You cannot rely upon that outlet to be powered 24/7/365 like a normal power outlet, and they do not disclose this. Finally, upon moving out after being ordered to remove all vehicles from vehicular storage (since they are shutting down this aspect of the business, in theory) as soon as possible, there is no prorated refund for the two weeks left that was already paid for. I guess it's a good thing you're shutting down the vehicle storage aspect because it was not managed well at all.

I requested a day off and called the University of Wisconsin to pick up art models that they put away for me after a gallery presentation. I packed them for the short trip and went to U-Haul to get the truck (4 miles away). James let me pay for the truck but didn’t let me pay for the storage until I came back with the truck. I picked up the models and went back to U-Haul. Then, James told me that I can’t pay for the unit as it’s not available. U-Haul send me a confirmation,but didn’t tell me the storage isn’t available. They let me drive to UWM, package and move the models, and asked me to drive back to U-Haul. U-Haul had 4 days to tell me that the listed storage is a clickbait scam and there is no unit. Then, I was offered a smaller storage in an unsafe area. I was allowed to keep the truck and return it the next day free of charge due to the inconvenience. That wasn’t a feasible option for me as I wasn’t able to lift the models into a cell that sits on top of another cell. I called customer service. Linda found the same size unit somewhere else and gave me the confirmation numbers: 923029-00109870 and 4142692487. The storage was $10 more expensive. She connected me with a reservation manager to extend the truck rental for free and customer service was to match the price to the original price U-Haul confirmed. The manager, Tiffany, extended the reservation, but charged me and made it sound as if it was my fault that I was in that situation. I was disappointed but drove to Wauwatosa. I was told the storage actually costs more. I opened the truck and saw the models didn’t make the long trip and got damaged. I lost work hours and pay, I paid for extra mileage, and my art got damaged. I didn’t get a refund on all the extra charges I had to pay. The truck’s breaks and steering system need to be fixed. It was very unsafe to drive that vehicle.

The location is extremely well maintained.' The staff is very supportive and helpful with renting vehicles, purchasing moving boxes and equipment . Erica Eberhardy has been very supportive and worked very hard to secure a 26ft moving van for us and also just completed another rental of a 16ft van at her facility. We were forced to move ourselves after our planned move carrier informed us that they could not move us in a timely manner due to a trucker shortage. John A | First ImpressionsI was going to let my experience go but though if the situation is addressed, I would be doing all the next customers a disservice. The guy who checked me in needs immediate coaching on how to work with customers. It has nothing to do with age (he's older than I am. I'm 54) but it's common customer service protocol that if you're taking longer than necessary, you apologize - even if it's just a one-time apology. We registered online, including entering all the license information. When I got there, yes, I was in the system but it seemed like my name was the only thing in there because of all the questions I was asked and him needing to enter it. - He needed my address (which was already there), - the front and back of my licenses (which we entered all that info already), - a 3rd, THIRD, phone number "as a back up" he said. I said, "You already confirmed one number to me, you asked for an alternative number so I gave you my mobile number, so you're not getting any other number." He said, "Well this is a new screen and it's asking for one." To which I replied, "I don't care. Do you really think it makes sense to have three numbers on file? I know you didn't make the system but you need to tell management that they need a system that can pull info from one screen to another because this is really inconvenient and frustrating for the customer." I had my son in the car and hot lunch for the family to take home right after my "quick stop" at U-Haul to get the truck. Apparently I was wrong to think to put all information online prior to my arrival because it would speed up the pick-up process would be a good idea. I'm not kidding when I say three to four other customers came and went while I was still there ... waiting ... while he was staring at the screen trying to figure things out. This also doesn't bode well for the girl who was at the other counter - and super fast with the other customers - and didn't notice I was STILL THERE after she helped 3-4 other customers. ??. I think I got there at around 9:15-9:30AM and didn't leave until after 10AM. If I were in his shoes, I would not have started the rental time for when we made the reservation for - 9:00AM because: 1. I didn't walk out of that office until after 10AM and 2. The cargo van wasn't even ready and sitting outside, Plus, 3. How does that make sense? You charge people for using your products. I didn't use it until 10 am. It doesn't hurt U-Haul financially, but it does leave a real bad taste with the customer. But he did. He left it at 9 am starting time. What sense does that make? He knew I was frustrated because I asked at least twice, "How much longer is this going to take?" I'm pretty sure most people would hear a question like that and know that this person is concerned about the time or length of time the process is taking and therefore. 1. apologize, 2. give the customer some idea of how much longer - since that's what the customer asked the employee who is representing U-Haul and/or 3. explain to the customer: A. "I'm so sorry it's taking so long. I'm new" or B. "I'm sorry. I'm still learning this system" or C. "I'm sorry. I know you've been waiting a while. I appreciate your patience. Let me get some help to speed this up" ... or some other rational explanation, not an excuse. I got nothing! This is what was said to me, "I dunno. I gotta fill in the information the screen is asking me." THAT'S what you're going to say to an obviously fidgety, anxious customer, who told you that he has his son and food to take home in the car, waiting. . I'm sure you know how far an apology goes. If he was new and that's why, fine. Tell me. We've all been new at jobs before. Every single person who has ever worked has been new at a job. But even so, that new employee needs to know it's not about THEM, Mr. U-Haul Representative Employee. Customers can't read minds. Tell me. Talk to me. Tell me something like you feel bad it's taking so long but you're doing your best. Perfect! Tell me that. I'd understand 100%. That's all I would have needed to hear. Customers don't want excuses. Just a reason ... and there's a big difference. Customers is one of the reasons you actually have a job. If you didn't have customers, you wouldn't be open. 40,000,000+ people filed for unemployment because of the Covid. Forty million!
