I was only told to bring a smart phone to check out the vehicle. Turns out you need to have a second person with a phone or a passport. Very inconvenient to find that out at 5:30 in the morning. Everything else was fine but that alone will cause me to use another firm next time. So frustrating to not be told that in advance.

I will say 1 suggestion- I was in line for at least 10 min waiting to be checked in. There were 5 people behind me also waiting. They had one employee checking people in on a Saturday... He then had to go attach a trailer for a customer- couldn't there be a system where he could call someone to do that instead of leaving everyone waiting for 10-15 min?

The person who made my reservation over the phone screwed up my drop off location and I ended up having to drive an extra hour to drop it back off at the same location when she told me I’d be able to drop it off back in my hometown (which would make sense since it’s a one-way kinda thing) so now I have to wait 72 hours for the dispute to be viewed so hopefully I can get my $100 bucks back for having to return it far away. Thanks Kimberly for making the mistake that cost me an extra $100 bucks, hope they listen to the recording where you told me you set up the drop off for my hometown and then clicked the wrong place while making the reservation.

Our U-Haul staff person was very new to his job, which can frequently result in a slow, error-filled experience for the customer. That was NOT the case for us, as the person training him did a great job keeping an eye on what he was doing, and responding quickly when he needed information. It was a pleasure to see the good quality teaching/learning relationship. Also, I was much happier to have the photo of my driver's license taken with a company phone. Last time, the clerk took it with her personal phone, and I had no way to know that my personal info was not immediately and permanently available to her and anyone with whom she would choose to share it. We really love the great value of renting a trailer from U-Haul for small, local needs. The equipment is clean, in great condition, and the service of hooking it up, unhooking, etc. is super!

We got the truck with 1/8 tank of gas. We barely were on the highway for 25 min and had to stop for gas. That is not professional and very inconvenient for people who are trying to move and now have to go out of their way after barely picking up The truck to have to fill the tank and now sets back out schedule. Please fill your tanks to atleast a half tank for people when they are paying big money to rent your trucks. Also we were not acknowledged at the counter when we arrived. We stood there for five minutes before Anyone acknowledged us. You should always greet someone and if busy say “we will be right with you”.

My only complaint is that the app did not work for the late return. I kept the truck at the location and came back in the morning to return the keys. The attendant seemed upset I parked the truck where I did and said I should have dropped the keys in the return box. If the system does not allow me to return the truck why would I leave the keys?

I attempted to drop our truck off at 77th and Appleton Ave, but was told they had too many trucks, and was rerouted to Capital Drive location. Good instructions were provided, tho.

Everything was well done. The truck was ready. The person I called to check the reservation the day before was helpful and courteous. Same for the counter person I got the truck from, and the person that checked me in and figured the final bill. Best U-Haul experience I ever had!

This is a scam location for the reason that they charged me $75 cleaning fee without my permission. Before you write back, read below. Yes, i did bring in a dirty utility trailer but the manner in which the location handled this was very unprofessional. 1. Sign on the trailer clearly says '$15 cleaning fee'. I was ok payin the $15 but I was told I will be charged $75 and when asked why they would, they said "they can charge whatever they want for a cleaning fee". The contract does not says " Individual Employees can charge whatever comes to their mind". If i knew UHAUL charges whatever comes to their mind, i'd have simply taken the trailer back, cleaned it good, return it with the cost of an extra day which is even cheaper that $75 illegal cleaning fee. 2. After arguing, the employee who did the inspection confirmed they will not charge the $75 cleaning fee. He went it and got my final copy of the receipt which did not have the $75 cleaning fee on it. I left the location. 2-3 hours later, a $75 fee was added to my card WITHOUT my permission AFTER the final transaction was over. This is totally unacceptable. If you think you can charge whatever you want, you must take all the signs off the trailers that says " $15 cleaning fee". I need UHAUL to fix this ASAP for me. It is unacceptable the way this location has handled this issue.
