They messed up my reservation amd I had to drive 80km out of the way
kATHERINE FLADEZThe gas in the tank was written down wrong, although she did say the correct amount. Nobody checked the truck over with us and we were asked about it when we returned… not my job to organize that. When my son showed a picture of the gas level and mileage when we started out, the person on when we returned seemed not to believe us. She asked to see the time and date and he showed her. I was never sure she did believe us. I will be phoning to understand if they charged us $49.00 for the gas, but we had filled it slightly over the amount shown in the picture when we picked it up.

Gary JonesI went into the office and inquired about a unit. I was told there was only an RV spot. I drove 10 mins away, checked online and there were 2. Called and was told to book it online. Did that, drove back and was told they had become available after I walked out. It wasted my time, my gas, and stressed me out more. Is this your normal practice of business?
Liza Belcourt | First ImpressionsThe Nordel Crt location was fine, however, our experience started earlier somewhere else. I had asked for a pick up location in Langley. We were sent to Port Moody. Port Moody did not have the trailer, apparently, because the system did not log that the returning customer was in Trail, BC - no where near Port Moody. We then had to drive to Delta who, luckily, had a trailer. This system error caused us a 2 hour delay and we were driving to Kelowna that same day. So, this was an unnecessarily long day.

The staff told their manager that I was angry and I was literary scared they will call the police on me while they're the one who annoyed me with their service in the first place and the customer! I definitely would not recommend these guys. They are troublemaker! It was not a pick up in and out process, it was something else!!

william leeIn general good experience coz of the girl at the front desk but company tried its best to ruin it for us. We reserved uhaul a day before and when we went to receive it, we were informed it’s canceled, and actually was given to someone else prolly someone gave it to their known. We received no email nothing , just saw thw status canceled when we went there. Thanks to the girl at the front, super nice, accommodating, compensated us. Hopefully if you get her as helper, good otherwise they will call you and ask you to go to far location if you want it!

Mark BaileyI had originally booked at a different location in Delta but the next day i was told there was nothing available besides a U-Haul in Vancouver. So I changed all my plans to pick it up in Vancouver this morning only to find out AFTER my check-in time (since it wouldn’t let me) that the U-Haul I had reserved is not available. I was then sent back to Delta to pick up a larger truck than needed. Overall, customer service and communication from the company were poor. If the company knew the night before that the truck I had in Vancouver was not ready, why not co tact me then or early morning so I can alter my plans instead of delaying the entire day. I will not recommend U-Haul to anyone.

The vehicle is, however, somewhat touch shape, clean but in tough shape nonetheless, in the cab anyway. Radio didn't work, sunshade loose, seats kindoff rough. That said, I'd do it all over again as moving is moving and just getting the job done is a relief. Overall, good job U-Haul. DW

David BlewettTerrible experience. The staff was not helpful and the manager was rude. They did not want to accept the trailer for drop off citing they a had no room, which was not true as there was a lot of room to drop it off. We were charged a $275 drop off fee that we were not informed about nor did we sign off on it. This was half the cost of the rent, so if we knew we wouldn't have dropped it off here. I would never use this location and have already asked for the regional manager to follow up regarding the charges.

Alvictor ChanThe vehicle description could be better, if I ordered the larger unit I wouldn't have had to use so much KM with multiple trips, I'm sure it says that somewhere but I wasn't here to read. The customer service was helpful, in-store was fantastic I can't say anything bad about them; the online and phone were helpful, but the online website as well as the app was so stressful to use by the end of my day. I wouldn't like to do that again.

heyle stewartThe windows were filthy on the inside. Also the air conditioning, defrost, air vents didn’t work. I was given the vehicle with a 1/4 of a tank of gas, which I had to fill. So no the vehicle wasn’t ready for dispatch. Not impressed.
Aaron ToddThe location and the staff are fine. The problem is in your website and mobile check-in process. Whomever designed that process needs to throw it out and do it again. I have an account with U-Haul, and so all my information is kept on your site; you already have my photo, scans of my driver's license, my credit card on file, my address. I logged into my account when I was using mobile check-in to pick up the vehicle; after all, the very reason that any of your customers have accounts is to make the rental process easier, so we don't have to repeatedly enter the same information, is that not correct? There is no rewards program, no discount, so there is no other reason to have an account except to make the rental process swifter. Instead, once I logged in to check-in, I had to manually re-enter EVERYTHING. My name, address, all my DL info - and THEN it asked me to scan both sides of my license???? AFTER I had already input the information, and when you already have these scans in my account? And then, despite having my photo on my DL, I had to take a selfie? Then I had to enter my credit card info, WHICH YOU KEEP ON FILE? Whomever designed this mobile check-in is, frankly, among the lease competent process / web / app designers I've ever encountered. Useful to note that I am an engineer, and now a professor, and I've been coding since 1976; that's right, coding for 47 years. This process is pathetic, and it is likely costing you, and more importantly, costing your franchisees money! I told the ladies at this location that they should relay my concerns upward, and hopefully spur a redesign process, because it is literally costing them customers and money. I will rethink whether or not there is any utility in keeping my account with you, or renting from you again; and I will use this experience as an example in my tech entrepreneurship courses as how NOT to design a customer-facing web process. Seriously, let's translate it to something you may relate to: if you have, say, the McDonald's app, and you open it to place an order; then you get to the McDonald's, but before you may pick up your order, you have to completely re-enter all the information about you AGAIN, even though it is held in the app data? Why would you keep the app? Would it cause you to reconsider buying from McDonald's again?

And the Guest wi-fi does not work afterhours for drop off, it said connected but with an Exclamation mark in the symbol with "No internet connection", written in orange and Also Tried the App when I got home but it would not let me click on the "click here to complete after hours return", but I am happy the morning crew did not need me to come into the store to finalized the return when I called them.

sandeep dhaliwalI've rented storage at this location, and now rented a cube-van. Every experience with staff has been smooth and trouble-free. The facility and vehicles are very well maintained. The office has a fantastic selection of moving supplies, especially the box selection. The only items that might not be on-hand are the rental dollies and moving blankets. The vans are fully booked at month end, so if you are planning a month-end move, then I would recommend reserving your van/truck in advance. Overall, U-Haul is a great company to deal with. This location raises the bar even higher.

jan mullerThe vehicle was clean but the inside of the windshield was quite dirty and spotted. The front defrost didn’t fix it. It was difficult to see through on the sunny day because of the glare on the spots on the inside of the window. The online sign in system is cumbersome to use so I had to have the sales representative register the rented van. She was very helpful. I will not be using the online option to pick up the vehicle again; it didn’t save time and it wasn’t straight forward to use.

When I rented a truck recently and it was time to pay in advance for my rental, the options on the debit machine were: Minimum due if paying with cash $114.19 Minimum due if paying with debit $125.00 I was paying with debit, and when I asked the girl about this difference in amounts, she struggled to explain. When I took out my phone and took a photo of the screen she quickly took back the debit machine, made a change, handed it back to me and told me I would only be charged the $114.19. The $125 option was no longer on the screen. This is the second time I have felt like this location was trying to scam customers, and spoke previously with a uhaul rep about it. I would like to know what was done about the last scam and what will be done about this time. Thanks very much. Corina 778-847-6739

We were extremely disappointed and confused as to why we could not drop off at a location near our destination but instead had to return to the pick up location.

Our reservation said we had the truck 8:00am July 29th until 8:00am July 30th. Nowhere did it say that if we weren’t there by 8:00 our reservation would be cancelled??!! Like WTF. Nobody called us…nothing. Turns out the gal working gave our truck to her “buddies” who were suppose to pick up their 20 ft tryck in Burnaby. My daughter was standing in line right behind them unaware it was OUR truck she was giving them. What a joke. Her attitude and customer service was appalling. Your Customer Service agent wasn’t any help either. The gal ended up renting us a dirty 15ft truck with only a 1/4 tank of gas in it. We ended up having to make two trips from Tsawwassen to WhiteRock because the 15ft truck wasn’t big enough. The whole experience was so disappointing, stressful and infuriating. I cannot believe such a large corporation operates with such incompetence . The previous two times I rented a U-Haul was wonderful and went smoothly without a hitch. Not a single time was I ever concerned about the safety of my belongings and that sense of security may well have been worth the cost. Thank you for just about a year's worth of storage.

But when someone is allowed to fill your vehicle with garbage without anyone knowing or seeing, I wouldn't say it was secure. But the manager was nice enough to let me use their garbage can to get rid of it so that was nice and very helpful. The rest of the complex is spotless. Just the vehicle area in back seems to get forgotten about but still gets charged the same amount regardless.

I was moving from Richmond to South Surrey. I chose to except the FREE MONTH rent on the storage through the U-Haul app which is being encouraged by your company.The free month rent was authorized by the App .I was not contacted by the Delta location or notified by the App of any change to this offer. I rented another truck from Richmond U-Haul and arrived at the locker to be told they decided not to honor this.This would not have been my chosen location to store my belongings as it is a distance away from my home. The manager of the location has admitted that a mistake was made by not notifying me of the cancellation of the FREE month rent but has refused my email request to cancel the charge. I feel that this is false advertising and the fact that it was accepted and authorized by the App I am entitled to a refund.It has cost me more than if I had rented a locker closer to my home.

Just the light inside the storage unit was inoperative making it a bit difficult to see specially at night but not a big deal. I hope it get fixed soon so the next customer won’t have any troubles. Other than that, a 5 star experience with a customer satisfaction orientated staff. Highly recommended!

Richard Sen | First ImpressionsThe security gates are open more than they are shut, and this isn’t a recent development, it’s happened for the entire time I had this storage unit. Everything I’m about to mention has happened on Uhaul property, *inside* the gates where things *should* be secure. I’ve met people wandering on the property who were clearly under the influence of some illicit substance and clearly not customers there. Many times I’ve seen drug paraphernalia (needles, pipes, butane cans etc.) dumped on the property. I stored a travel trailer there and the propane tanks were stolen. When I mentioned this to the employees, they shrugged and said Uhaul had no liability and that storing my trailer there was the same as storing it in a field. To all this I ask, “What was I paying for?” Gates that aren’t secure, property stolen, dangerous people and drug materials on the property? If I could have, I would have moved much sooner.

Jason Vanderhill | Overall ExperienceI was advised by uhaul headquarters that I was eligible for a free month of storage utilize at my convenience within a year from June 2022. I received it in writing via an email and when I went to use it I was denied by your location despite having the email indicating so. Your location charged me in a very vulnerable situation and there was zero empathy or compassion from your agents. I have been using uhaul for over 25 years in different locations and the past 3 interactions have been an absolute deterrent to using uhaul ever again. The right thing to do was to honor the email from uhaul. Also your agents forced me to buy a round lock where that is not proper policy. As long as I had my own lock it shouldn't have mattered. The response from this location was it was for my own protection of the contents of the init which is not your decision and does not align with the policies of uhaul. And finally the sign on the outside of the store indicated 84.95 for a 5x5 and I was charged more because they did not take down the sign. That is false advertising. Overall I am very disappointed by the service of your uhaul location and staff.

When I was online it did not tell me that I could lose my spot to someone else or that it was even an option for me to lock my spot so I’m not sure how that happened.

Convenient location close to 91 connector and HWY 17 .They have also inside storages with climate control but too small for myself .You can store there RV ,boat ,car. Moving trucks for hire on side, a definitely an asset ,with all the packing supply including locks makes such a hassle as moving ,a great experience .Thank You!
PIOTR Wojtowicz | Overall ExperienceThe initial ‘terms’ I signed up for in the beginning- changed drastically over the years. The power to the locker was shut down in the evening. So no lights at night inside the unit. I had to pay for extended access, as the site hours were cut down. It was hard to access the locker often as there were so many Uhaul trucks blocking the access to the unit aisles. The power plugs outside were locked and there started to be a charge for that. I only very rarely needed to test an item and that was made difficult after hours. The rental costs increased at least every six months, and always an excuse that there were site improvements- none that I noticed. The drain over my unit leaked and dripped down in my door area. I had issues with my credit card due to hacking etc and the bank said regular charges would go through. But obviously not set up that way. So recently a charge didn’t go through and the office knew it on that day and could have sent a courtesy email, but NO courtesy with Uhaul, instead wait until the 4 th day so that they could bill the extra $15.00. Then also seemed to start billing on the 28th, not the due date of the 29th. On sign out day, I asked the office girl to attend the locker to confirm it was clean and empty- several times, and she refused. She was rude and did not even thank me for my over 10 years of business. One of the workers was letting their friend park in one of the aisles one day. Of course right in front of my door. Hard to get the guy to move and the worker seeing the problem didn’t even step up and ask him to move. I’m sure I can come up with more items. You asked for feedback- also I have given feedback in the past and it was met with deaf ears at the ‘head office’ level. Just forwarded back to the actual site, which was pointless as they were the ones unwilling to listen to any feed. Thanks to Uhaul for the many years of questionable service.

These clients would maximize their space with multiple items, cars, junk. When the space is clearly for a one vehicle, rv, or boat. In my opinion there is enough demand for your parking space, you don’t need to have clients that use, abuse every square footage or the liability to potentially damage vehicles beside those few abusers.

Valerie Kelly | First ImpressionsThe service I received at UHaul was very slow and unprofessional. When I rented a truck about a week in advance I also rented a furniture dolly. On the day of pickup I was advised that the facility does not carry furniture dollies and offered a utility dolly instead. I felt frustrated by this as we never received any call to advise us of this and we were reliant on having a furniture dolly. We should not be able to select this on the website if that location does not carry it. As well, an additional padlock was put on my unit despite my lock being the same as those sold at the front desk. When I was preparing to move out the keys provided by the customer service agent were not correct and she had to go remove the lock herself. Overall, the service was far below par. I would actively discourage people from using Uhaul in the future.

I understand the dynamics of the storage market but a heads up text or email would have been helpful. I still need a 5x10. Upgrade to the first available should be automatic. Staff were not able to speak to it. Your staff are very pleasant and customer focused. Management/owner should routinely listen to their ideas and input for improvement. This would make a difference!
