I had a pick up at 4 and was the next person in line while I wanted one of u haul team members thought it would be better to help someone who didn’t not have a reservation and the only thing they got was two boxes witch not a problem but the problem was she made 2 u haul toy box truck and that took her OVER 30 MINS witch caused me to get irritated and witch caused 5 people also behind to sit there and wait would not recommend this location
JESSE TWe received good service from the employees in a tense situation. I reserved the trailer a month ago and it was not available. What is the point of a reservation that isn't honored? The staff worked hard to find us a larger trailer and we left. My frustration is not with that location, but the business model in general.

DONALD LI wanted to rent a car trailer. And they told me that they didn't have any. In des moines, within a sixty mile radius, when I showed up to the location, they had multiple car trailers. When I to hold them that I was interested in running a car trailer and not the car Dolly, they didn't care. And the lady got up and walked away because she had to receive a phone call and she left the table without saying sorry or anything. And handed me off to one of her co-workers, who was totally caught off guard. And when she returned, she didn't even say sorry or anything very disappointed in the customer service, I receive that this location i will definitely not be coming back
JONATHAN FWe took the trailer off ant Ankeney, which was arranged when talked to the U-Haul rep. Drop off was fine except when unhooked the trailer started rolling just glad there was 2 of us so one person could find something to put under tires. If was after hours so we have no comment on personnel

Spent 10 minutes waiting to talk to the person as he was on the phone. He was trying to multitask - working on an other rental while working on ours. Then more people came in and had to wait in line. It would also be helpful to have the trailer size that the system said was available actually available.

RUSSELL RThe only reason I gave it an average rating was because the lack of employees. I arrived early for pick up and there was only one employee on site. Which she was GREAT btw!!! Very nice, respectful and helpful! But she was also left to handle the line of customers by herself! Which she handled it VERY well! She definitely deserves a raise and some recognition! I would put her name but I’d destroy it trying to spell it. It should be on my receipt. Kudos to her!

I didn’t go over the miles but yet they charge me another $16 after they charge me 90 some dollars and when I looked it up online it was supposed to be $50 so I really don’t know why That was charged $120 for something that was supposed to be $50 $58 whatever it was but rest of your I will try to find different businesses with rental next time

MARK HProcess for returning a pickup truck was not explained, so following the signage, I left the truck in Bay 2 (no one there) and walked some distance over to the main desk.
BRIAN SI was quoted $1400 for the total price and was charged over $1600. The truck I had kept displaying the check engine light. The key was a struggle to get out of the ignition.

Kevin PI greatly appreciated that a chained padlock is provided for the U-Haul door latch! However, I initially did not notice it and was scrambling to find my own padlock after packing up. Luckily I noticed the one provided by you guys - my recommendation would be to advise customers of the padlock provided :)

SHAWN WThe U-Haul working was very confused on the promotion deal. He said that the deal to rent a U-Haul truck and get one month free storage rental was not possible stills available, but was wrong. He was rude and was rushing us. Besides that everything went smoothly.

TRUDY MHad to switch equipment after adding a 1 way rental to the end of my local rental but certainly understand. If I had known I needed the 1 way at the end when I started out they might have been able to set me up better in the first place, so really my own fault. Allowed me to do it easily with some things in the trailer though so I definitely appreciate their understanding! Good folks at that location.

It was freezing out, and took a while to locate it. Also, the UHaul app - though a good idea in theory - did not work well without good internet service, and failed to upload my pictures. I had to just leave without completing the app info.

One of the overhead doors to the west loading bay wouldn’t open two different times when I pulled up, fortunately the others were ok. An “occupied” light would be nice there. Some loading spots out front are blocked by stuff on the sidewalk and the curb there makes things harder than they need to be. Dealing with the city is a whole thing I know, but those driveways onto Hubbell are terrible! Cleanliness was ok but sometimes saw the same dirt in the aisles across several visits, and the main entry collects stuff that’s not “gently” used and sometimes in the way. Access to a dumpster on site, maybe with an extra fee or for a cleanup day each month, would be really great. Staff were friendly to me! They seemed to be dealing with irritated customers a lot when I was in there. Hugs to them. Thank you! Happy with my stay and hope this comes across as constructive :)

They seemed put out that customers walked in, and basically handed me the keys to the truck and said good luck. Any other U-Haul facility I have been into was completely different employee-wise, helpful, asked if I had any questions, so accommodating.

They said they will probably do a full sweep of all units but would get back to me and took down my information. I am in 1349. I recommend bombing the entire place bc I would be upset if my clean items became infested. Besides that everything was great and smooth sailing from beginning to finish and renting the U-Haul truck. I had a few conversations with employees and was told to call back the first part of January. When I called to pay and get my things I was informed my locker had already been auctioned off! I lost thousands of dollars worth of my mom and dad's stuff that was all I had left of my parents! I will never use UHaul ever again. And I have been a loyal customer for years and years.

Prasad M | First ImpressionsOne thing that really annoyed me when I lost my key to my lock was the fact that the first person I had a whole crew of people when I was going to move out come over on a Saturday and the people there said well you can't cut your lock off your locker unit and we will not do it either you have to hire a locksmith well that's kind of funny the next day after consulting with a locksmith and how they would do it because I know people that are locksmiths I attempted to draw out my lock cuz that's the way they would do it somebody from your unit your storage facility decided oh well you're not doing it right I'm just going to come over with a soul and cut it off for you and he said well we'll we normally charge $50 for this oh okay well the first person told me you wouldn't even do it so basically I had a whole crew there on a day that I could have had all my stuff out two days before it was due and you the communication there that people don't know what's going on and that's just not convenient on top of that if you're laid in your storage unit by one day you're charged 100 bucks $50 for a lien fee and $50 for a late fee which is more than what the price on the rental unit was they're asking me about my experience

A couple of months ago I found out that my boyfriend had gone in and was able to get himself added to my unit without my consent. Come to find out, he has been gradually getting all of my stuff out of the unit. I never said I wanted anyone else added to my storage unit. I'm not sure why this lists my move out date as the 18th because I did not move out and I don't plan on moving out anytime soon.

Juan M | First ImpressionsThe new staff member was struggling a little bit so we weren’t sure about the transaction at the beginning, but the manager stepped in to help and everything went so smoothly after that. The manager was more than helpful and provided us all the info we needed. The only issue I have is that the answers we received from the 800 number when reserving the storage unit (it’s a 20x10) was different than the answer received when I called the local place (10x20 and two 5x10) vs the answer I received when we were there (15x10 and a 5x10). If it was reserved for us as indicated when I initially called, then why was it decided upon arrival? Uhaul corporate needs to do better so local branch doesn’t have to deal with the fallout.

Regardless of the wait, the staff was amazing and when it was your turn, they gave you all the attention needed. The facility was super easy to get in and out of. We even found a lovely plant shelf in the share area. I highly recommend this U-Haul center for all of your moving needs.

I went ahead and (tried ) to take advantage of the free storage unit your app enticed me in doing when I rented the truck and I ended up having to get the truck g or another day because it said incould doneverything online and be to check in at the unit by 10pm Got there at 730pm. Couldnt use the app. Rang the buzzer the man who ansswered told me to call the 800 number at uhaul.com. was yikd it would.be 30 to 45 min. Wait on hold. Waited gor an hour finally hung up. Went duting office hours the next day, the agent checked us in ( took over an hour) even tho I had spent about that much time trying to navigate the u your web site to complete the rental only to find out that the while unit thing was a total waste of over 2 hours.of my life that could of been put to use doing something great! Instead I was left with extra milage (20 or more at 89 cents a mile, an extra days truck rental as I could get into my init to empty the truck so I could return it! And A LOT OF STRESS! the unit still set empty as I had to return the truck by noon today and was unable to access my unit and the agent that was there was unwilling to answer the nick at the door or the buzzer on the wall. I have a video of him sitting at the desk staring at is knocking on the door 5 min. After GE said we were all set. We were not all set because we went to the door put in our access code ( he said he was out of access cards) and it said our unit was disarmed but the slifing doors would not open to let us in.! IT WILL BE A VERY DESPERATE SITUATION BEFORE I WOULD USE UHAUL FOR ANY REASON. FOR A LONG TIME! P.S DONT HAVE THE RESERVATION NUMBER but the storage units location is 2526 Hubble Ave. And I have video of everything I am telling you (tie.. him sitting at the desk and ignoring our numerous call for help

However, bathroom was dirty, used paper towels on floor, no trash bins in bathroom or indoor offloading area. Could have used one or two more carts. I made a payment and it took 2 days for the lock to get taken off of my unit and then the day my payment was due for my next payment there was a lock back on my unit and then I was given until the time the office closed to move out of my unit that I again had to wait for someone to come take the lock off again when I was in my unit just previously that same day. And nobody even called to clarify what was really going on. I called and got sent to customer service which was no help either.

James S | Overall ExperienceOver all things are good. How ever there needs to be more help on staff. Having customers wait 20 to 30 plus minutes in line is not good. The location I went to,had only 2 men doing everything . They where working very hard, but they definitely need extra help to make things go smoothly for them and the customers. Once I was attended to, the service was great and they where friendly. Please get them some more help.

Phillip L | Online Move InThe space is great and security is great. Largest complaint is it was under staffed both times and staff seemed as if they didn’t care if they got to you in a timely manner. I had to wait in line for an hour (2nd in line) while other staff members were outside and walking around. Facility is great however do t expect to get in an out in a timely manner and a lot of DYI to help move things faster.

I sprayed cockroach killer each visit and did see mouse traps the last time in the units that the doors were opened, but I will never leave my stuff here again for fear of what I will bring back to my house. I had my stuff here for 4 months and after 2 months the rate went up by $40 a month (about 50%) and no one ever told me that was going to happen, and since I have auto pay, it blindsided me, I was told that was the new rate. Overall a bad experience for me

Lonnie A | First ImpressionsMy experience was not necessarily a positive one, but I feel the staff and the manager made every effort to assist me. It feels as though they may be very short-staffed, which is stressful for both staff and customers. I had an exceedingly long wait on multiple occasions prior to my move-in, and noticed that some people walked out, unable to make their purchases. To their credit, the staff remain friendly, professional and helpful so I feel they are doing the best they can under difficult circumstances. I had to pay additional charges from the trucking company that moved me due to the long wait to get checked in. There is some type of construction taking place at this time in the storage area, so I found there is dust in the air. Someone was smoking in the storage area and I am hoping that it is not something that continues as I do not want our belongings to smell like cigarette smoke. The manager/staff assisted me with issues that occurred and I am appreciative of their efforts and satisfied at this time.
