The worker helping us was talking about mileage and trying to figure out how that worked - I was always under the impression that mileage doesn’t matter for trailers, but it does for all other vehicles. A phone call made stated this would be reconciled but I have yet to receive any information regarding this.

BRANDON MI had them install my hitch 10 days ago. Came to pick up my trailer to find they never installed the wiring. So I couldn’t use the trailer with my new car- had to spend an extra hour transferring everything to our other car so we could haul the trailer to our destination and back. WHO DOESNT INSTALL OR EVEN ASK ABOUT WIRING WHEN YOU INSTALL A HITCH? I would think it is all in one package- or at least would have had the conversation! I now have to find another day to bring it back and spend more time out of my day getting the wiring installed. Really not happy.

Not what I expected when reserving a trailer. If there wasn’t a third option my trip to pick up my vehicle would have been in jeopardy of ever happening which would have caused a huge problem for me. Very disappointing.

Kathy-lynn O | Overall ExperienceI have nothing negative to say about the U-Haul location. The gentleman who worked with me both at pick-up and drop-off was friendly and courteous. My only real complaints were with the trucks. The floor was extremely slick, made only worse with the blizzard I was moving in. It did make sliding boxes a bit easier, but it was treacherous walking inside the back. I was also surprised that there were no anchor points for bungee cords or straps - I would have thought that would be a given. That said - my cargo didn't shift much at all, despite the truck only being about half full and unsecured. Undoubtedly, the blizzard helped because I had no choice but to drive extremely slow and make very slow turns. I honestly thought I was heading for disaster driving in a blizzard, and if I hadn't been driving so slowly, I'm sure I would have. But the truck handled remarkably well on the icy roads. The blizzard was an 'x' factor that seemed to make things both worse and better. I'm curious what my experience would have been like if I had been moving in warmer, dryer conditions.

GUNTIS KThe van smelled horrible. There was cigarette ashes the dash cubby and it was very apparent that whoever had it before smoked in it heavily. Putting on 75 miles in a van that smells that bad when it's winter and you can't roll the windows down makes the over 100 bucks the rental cost fell like a lot.

JOEL EWas annoyed when the East Town called me and told me I had to drop the trailer at another location when I had a confirmed reservation for dropping at same location. They finally allowed me to drop at East Town.

There a huge gap/access point at the back of the storage where you can see everything in the unit next to me you can stick your hand into their unit from my side I believe that's how I stole from me. There's no reason why there's such an open Gap for somebody to be able to stick their arm all the way into my unit.

They had a meal, and the guy was in and out the front doors going out to smoke. They left to somewhere inside the storage area and advised us about how to keep the door from closing. Not sure if they spent the night inside a unit or not. The lady was in a wheelchair.

Then I walked in and explained my situation and whoever was working that day, went above and beyond explaining how everything worked. I got the first month free which was a huge plus for me/and beyond nice and amazing. Then you can add insurance and get the after hour availability option, which was also a huge plus. The unit was super clean and I couldn’t recommend renting from U-haul enough. When you’re in a pinch, this place was beyond awesome. I could drive right into the garage area and the unit was super easy to get into. Thank you U-haul!!

Trinette G | Overall ExperienceSinage in relation to the timing for the garage doors to the loading/unloading bay for vehicles to exit is lacking. No time is posted to state how long before the doors automatically close. Also the eyes that are supposed to detect if anything/anyone is in the way of the door are not properly aligned on any of the doors and are mostly at a 45° angle so they have no way of properly detecting anything. Also management chose to communicate mostly via text which I found to be odd and a bit sketchy. Along with the fact that the garage door situation that occurred we contacted law enforcement for an incident report which the manager should have done as it was his property. Overall not a bad experience but definitely not one I want to have again.

Steven L | Overall ExperienceAfter a harrowing move from a family member's upstairs apartment on a rainy day, we were pleasantly surprised that we could unload indoors and use a heavy duty hand cart for a quick and stress-free unload. Staff was friendly and helpful on check-in. The only concerns were that the garbage really needs to be emptied on the particular day were were there, and when we had a question the intercom was not answered and we had to go back to the office to ask. This was not a major concern and as a general rule we would highly recommend U-Haul storage. We also were happy that a lock was provided on check-in and we didn't have to run out and buy one. The system seems to be very well organized.

I tried to get roadside assistance and got a recording that they could not take my call at this time. Please try calling at a later time Goodbye. I will NOT pay for extra days. Because I could get a hold of anyone. I even called from there parking lot and got the voicemail was not set up. I walk in and there was one person there no phones were ringing. I am pretty sure they didn’t answer because they didn’t want to work. They never called me they just came and took the truck. Now they have my things. That were in the truck they said I couldn’t take the truck and dropped my things at my storage facility. Now I will go tomorrow I am not paying anything extra because had they bothered to call me and actually talk to me this would not be happening. Now I need to get the rest of my things out on Tuesday and I will need a truck I better not have any trouble. Also they left a blue metal object that when I went to leave and because it was small I did not see it and it’s probably damaged my car but I saw others that were put up by building to get them out of the way.

Richard V | Online Move InThere’s ad bit of confusion about 24 hour access terms when I converted from a 5x10 storage to 10x10. The 10x10 requires contact with a CSR to rent while the smaller units were entirely contactless and automated almost instantaneously. Otherwise I am very satisfied and would highly recommend!
FRANCIS L | Online Move InI have used Uhaul in the past and have never dealt with someone so rude. Who ever worked yesterday when I came to get my storage unit at 2pm was very unprofessional. He was on a personal call when I walked in and continued to talk to them for a few minutes before telling the person to call them back because he had a customer as if I was an inconvenience to his time. He then proceeded to require a second contact name and number. Not once before have I had to provide this since I am a single adult. He then told me it was company policy to have 2 contacts. I get thay is normal in most cases cases but the fact that I had to provide my mother's information who lives in Florida was demeaning to say the least. Then when it came time to get my storage unit that was reserved he told me that just because something is reserved does not mean you actually have one. So after I just drove 17 hours I was told that I would just have to wait a unit to become available or use one they have which is a larger size. So originally my climate controlled 10 × 15 was 145 a month and the only one available that day was a 16 × 20 which was close to 300 dollars. I can't give the exact amount because he would not give me a receipt. He said it would be emailed. Still haven't received the email for that even though I ask for one. Once I had finished unloading my 20ft truck I asked for the receipt and to show that I had turned it in in the 19th since I was told the price of the truck was by day. He again refused to give me a receipt and told me it doesn't matter you aren't going to save any money any way. I have worked in customer service jobs before and I get people have bad days. But this man was rude, demeaning, and honestly just lazy. I will continue to call customer service until I speak to someone about this because never before have I been treated so poorly for no reason at all.

Also, there was NO clear explanation of the process to get into the building and the BLUE keypad versus the other ones that are there. It is simple now that I now the process, but it was very frustrating not knowing what to do and having an alarm sound when we opened the doors. Also, there should be a much easier way to remove the zip-tie during your 1st entry into the storage units.
