When I made my pick up, this lady went above and beyond. She maid sure I had everything that I needed. wonderful experience as always.

LATOYA WI tried two locations in Wilson to drop off my U-Haul trailer, but no one can help me there. Take it off my truck so they sent me to another location which once I got there, the guy said they could take the trailer but later on I found out that they charged me $58 for dropping the trailer there and I don’t think that was my fault should ever be my fault and nobody can tell me why
Roy NOver charge me for a wrong gas usage. Took me three days for someone check the mistake and return me money back to my account.

Leigh-Anne BThis Uhaul rental couldn't have gone more smoothly. We first called a competitor that we rented 2 years ago for move in and their price had practically tripled (for half the distance!) The other company rental quote we got had a really onerous insurance procedure (and also upcharged for changing date a few days... after having a reservation for month+.) But uhaul was easy, clean, open both days & very convenient locations. Will be our goto for future moving trucks. Thanks

Michael SWe turned in the Truck at 11am like we were supposed to and handed the key to employee as she was exiting the building. She said she would take care of it but seemed overwhelmed being only employee there. I was charged $70 extra due to your system saying it wasn’t turned in until 230pm. I called “Heather”, she remembered me and corrected it. Heather needs a raise.
Scott HYou should have some type of cleaning crew or something to clean the insides of the vehicles after each use. That would clear out the dirt and kill the smell that's inside.
MARCUS HThe store manager had a very rude attitude at time of pickup which was late because she didn't arrive at work on time and still had a poor standoffish attitude at the time of srop off highly recommend some customer service mediation with her moving forward it will be a very long time before I go back for any reason due to the very poor standoffish attitude of the store manager in Elizabeth City

I was having a bad week but the agent was very professional and helpful and the process went smoothly which didn’t exacerbate an already stressful personal situation. It shows how U-Haul trains employees well and maintains a positive atmosphere. I greatly appreciated the service and will recommend this location to my associates.
Jamie NWhen we came to book the truck, absolutely no one was in the store. We waited 15 minutes, and another customer who knew the manager had to call her to let her know employee was missing. She also wasn’t very professional. When we came to pick up the truck, the general manager was nice and helped us out so that was a plus. Unfortunately we were given a truck with a 1/4th tank of gas… for a 150 mile trip. So we had to spend unnecessary money on gas.

MELVIN RWaited over 2 hours past reservation time. This location was horrible at maintaining vehicle status and reservations. Had to use a smaller than reserved truck due to poor management and communication after wasting two hours of my day waiting for this location to figure out truck availability.

Scott HWe had called last Monday and reserved a 26 foot truck for 3/21/2026 at the U-Haul Center in Elizabeth City, NC. We called the day before to verify it would be there. When we went to pick up the truck when they opened on 3/21/2026 we were told they had none. There were 2 shorter trucks in the parking. Rather than offering one of those, the clerk told us we would have to drive to Hertford to get a 20 foot truck. When we stated we had a reservation the clerk informed us that it only meant a truck would be available. We asked about the 2 trucks in the parking lot and the clerk said they were reserved for someone else. This is totally an unacceptable. This seems to me to be false advertising. Not to mention poor customer service. We went ahead and reserved one for Sunday. We'll see how that goes. Really upset that they treat their customers this way. We had 2 storage units rented there for 4 months. This is no way to get a repeat customer.

Michael OPower was out, there was only one employee. My husband and moved trailers by hand and did our best to help the lady working there. We were there close to 2 hours. The scheduler for the Hampton Roads area who reserved that location is absolutely one of the most rude people Ive ever dealt with in a customer service position. It was an awful experience.

PATRICK DI would highly recommend having more staff on duty for checking in / checking out customers. Both times we have used this facility there was only one employee working. This resulting in wait times over 30 minutes to check in / check out the trailers we rented. I prefer to deal with people and not use apps for service.

STEVEN FYou should ensure that the application and the receiving office are able to access the others information. It is irritating to have to redo the very information input into the app, again at the customer service desk. You should also institute a comments or additional info section on the computer contract page, as to alleviate confusion between co-workers with different shifts.
ANIKA WThe facility is clean and well maintained, which is expected for a new location. However, the overall service did not meet expectations. My reservation was scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Given the forecasted winter weather at my destination and the fact that the location opens at 7:00 a.m., I planned to depart early. No staff were present at opening. I waited at 7:00, 7:15, and 7:30 a.m. without assistance. After contacting U-Haul customer service, I was informed that the delay was not related to the holiday (day after Christmas) but was due to staffing issues. The general manager arrived around 8:55 a.m., and I departed with the trailer at approximately 9:15 a.m., nearly two hours later than scheduled. Additionally, my reservation time was adjusted by 30 minutes so it would not reflect as late in their system, despite the delay being caused by the location not opening as scheduled. Because of the delayed departure, I encountered the forecasted weather and was required to stop overnight and complete my trip the following day. Although the manager was professional, no discount or compensation was offered for the delay. I also returned the trailer one full day earlier than planned but was charged the full rental amount. Overall, the lack of reliable staffing, accountability, and customer accommodation significantly impacted the experience. Based on this visit, I would not choose this location again.
CORWIN TTraining is needed on how to rent one way. Staff struggled and got wrong but destination resolved.
