The vehicle smelled awful. Not sure if it is the cleaning product used, but very unpleasant. The man who took the car at the end was incredibly rude and spoke to me in a disrespectful way. For no reason. I will not be coming back.

Our truck was was not clean on the inside and the outside was not so great (peeling paint, dings, scuff marks, missing paint. We used it for 2 hours and did NOT get it dirty at all. We were charged for the clean-up of the people before us!!!!

Brigette ONever again go to this U-Haul location: 3630 College Point Blvd Flushing, NY 11354 Even if you rent equipment ( hand truck, dolly...) with a vehicle it does not mean you will get it. They will push you to buy it from them. There are errors uploading pictures of the vehicle you rent and cannot get confirmation. Then they tell you to leave without confirmation which is illegal.

CORNEL JThe cargo van was good. The 15’ van I upgraded to was a rolling piece of junk. The counter woman who helped with the van and my 15’ truck upgrade was great and an amazing employee. That 15’ truck needs a complete overhaul or taken off the road. The highway vibrations, the rubbing noises that came and went, the sliding cargo door that stuck at halfway. I felt like the truck was made in the 1970s and needs to be retired.
THOMAS PI wanted a Dodge van at the desk, but they just lent me a Chevy van and ignored my request. So I went outside and asked if they had a Dodge van, and they said they had a few available. When I asked again at the desk, they changed it to a very rude one. I don't know why I have to go through all this trouble to get one.
SEONG HI inspected the outside of the truck however inside the truck once I got to my destination was filled with garbage. I had to unload all the garbage and boxes and leave it by my house and pay someone to haul it away

NEXSO Cthey first give me a car dolly with a flat tire, the attendant did not see the tire was flat....how is that possible I had to tell him it was flat on the floor.......then attendant gives me another tow dolly and says go inside to give them the number of the tow dolly....after I go inside and wait again on line the inside attendant tells me no u can't take it....its out of service.....he calls the outside attendant and he does not answer, I waited an extra 45 minutes finally after I made a seen...the outside attendant comes in and tells the inside attendant that the tow dolly is ok he can take it.....so I lost 45 minutes of my time and got charged 100.00 more to get my car out of the storage yard because I was held up at u haul........never again college pt location is the worst, and this is not the first time

NALAM KI didn't like that when I rented the car to move something small, I had to make a short trip and return the car. I had measured the miles and the exact costs, but they charged me for insurance that I never asked for. I didn't want any insurance, but when I returned the car, they charged me $30 that I didn't want for insurance that at the time of the reservation, the person who helped me never mentioned that insurance. I think they should be more transparent with customers when it comes to charging or notifying them of the costs and not charge them after they never told me anything. I filed a claim for my $30. BRAYAN OGood experience, getting the key out of key box (combination on lock needs to be a bit clearer, bit hard to see) easy getting the truck, make sure to take pictures of damage that are visible and down load to the site. Upon return was asked about the damage and good thing picture was there or I was liable.

When I drove and came to stop the wheel was pulling to the left, the wheel also had like almost 2 inches of wheel play …also was very loose signifying it may need a wheel alignment and probably has went to long without one . That is very dangerous for drivers it makes the wheel unstable.

JESSICAA B | Overall ExperienceBeen using the storage facilities for about 15 yrs (2 different accounts) and in the beginning everything was okay... just okay. There were no storage facilities with 24 hr access in the area, so didn't have much choice. Prices, availability, cleanliness, and service was not all that bad. Was even offered a free month when a year was paid upfront. As time went by, prices were jacked up, started getting dirty from people leaving garbage all over or wait a good 30 - 45 mins standing in line just to get some help because online service wasn't available back then (and sometimes even to this day). Once the online service was available, the horror story began. Don't know who made it, but it was a shitshow. Couldn't use it without getting a migraine or constantly going down. Even up until today looks like a website that was made by a 80 year old person who just started using the internet. Hope they hire a second grader who can definitely make it better in 2024. Installed sliding doors that were shutoff or inoperable most of the time. Should've made it accessible to people with their cards or at least make the manual door wider for people that access at 2 or 3 in the morning to avoid the rush. And speaking of rushes, the traffic on the weekends to get to the storage facilities was a nightmare! The street traffic, is something that can't be controlled but during the day, there are so many soliciting "illegal aliens" that don't even speak English trying to look for work or sneak into the bathroom especially when it rains, snows, or the weather gets bad, they go stand inside the facilities where they don't belong! Even took pictures of some of them, and had to threaten to call police before finally leaving me alone. Recently, even during the day, there is no parking available for the storage unit owners because of the "genius" employees that park the UHAUL vehicles in our spots or the "mentally handicapped" people that leave their cars thinking it's all day free parking! And as for the nighttime, that's a whole other story. On top of the sliding door situation, sometimes the elevator was inoperable, someone sleeping in the bathroom, and it also seemed like some people were living in their storage units! Got dirtier and started to smell! After the so-called climate controlled atmosphere was placed in, this got worse. Also, on the weekends, almost definitely, we could barely get into the driveway because of the "idiots" that drop-off the vehicles so amazingly! Had to come back the next day soooo many times! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! If I could request a refund everytime I was inconvenienced, UHAUL will probably pay me to use their storage. It is highly recommended NOT to rent the storage units unless you REALLY are a glutton for pain and REALLY have money or time to waste. But again, it's not like we have a choice around this area. If you must... GOOD LUCK!

Treats customers differently based on race, and treated me with a nasty attitude because I looked Asian. Even after first initial payment issue was settled about a week ago, our storage door had a lock. He lied that he sent someone to unlock it when it was a lie. I had to go back and forth from our storage on forth floor to the front desk three times to have him go up to unlock it himself without any apology for the inconvenience and for his lies…. NEVER will I use this facility for my storage needs, nor say anything nice about renting a space at this location. I have been having great experiences in different Uhaul locations, but this location needs to change its manager to make this place to be on par with other locations and your company’s standard if there is any…. Stop hiring unqualified individuals as managers because it ruins the entire facility…. I really think that your company should do a surprise audit or inspection to get this issue corrected fast as I often see so many unhappy customers on the lines to get helped…. Truck rental is another disaster in itself…. People are arguing outside. Gas gauge is working where I put in gas, but the needle doesn’t move at all…. If I was nasty, I could sue for faulty gas gauge that defrauds customers…. Please do bring sanity to this place as I like using Uhaul!!!

We Had to wait until the other trucks get moved for us to get the one we rented. He gives me a truck that has almost no gas. I asked him if he had one with atleast half a tank of gas. I wanted to make sure i didn't get stuck getting to my destination and he tells me there's a gas station up the block... Very unprofessional..

Lin L | Overall ExperienceThe website advertised 24 hour access moving from out of state and living temporarily in a hotel it worked best for me as i have used that feature for other out of state moves in the past usually for an additional small fee. when i arrived with a fully loaded u haul truck the front desk attendant stated that it was for "commercial guest only" businesses etc. I stated that that was clearly stated on the website or on the signage that was next to the desk. She stated that's just how it is. Having to catch a flight back i was put in a position of having no choice but to complete the move in. When i was moving out i asked for 24 hour access again because i am again completing this alone and when i called the gentleman i spoke to said that they stopped offering that service a while ago and extended the normal access hours. I advised him that i am requesting this as a last resort and he reiterated that the service is completely unavailable to everyone. I advised him of again the website and the posted signage in the facility and they stated that "we just didn't change it yet" and reiterated the hours are from 5am to 10pm implying that that should be more than enough time. I think its unfair for someone who does not know my life situation or responsibilities to decide that their hours should not be a problem for me. i work nights and have people to take care of during the day. i shouldn't have to explain that to someone to get the services as advertised when that was the reason i chose that storage facility

I had rented a truck from one U-Haul location and drove it to another U-Haul location across states. The location I brought the U-Haul too was a storage facility where I had rented a storage unit. The elevator at this location was broken and it required me to use the back stairs to go up 3 flights of stairs with all my livelihood into this storage unit. The staff there was extremely friendly and accommodating because of this and were able to compensate me graciously for this experience and their apology came from a place of true empathy for a customer. The staff at the 25 Jefferson Street location in Stamford, CT that were working yesterday deserve some recognition for this. At a time like this during the pandemic, it is acts like this that make a company, that make customer service, that make people's days and they remember these moments. Thank you UHaul, and please make sure to recognize the staff that day who helped me, they deserve it. I will continue to be a long term Uhaul customer because of acts like this and the payoff on the bottom line will be well worth it for the compensation that was provided out of the kindness of their hearts. He was working till very late and I passed by him a few times as I was loading my unit. True team player and should be in a higher role than just one store management especially for almost 18 years.
Harjit S | First ImpressionsAndre was great the storage room not great it was dark , even smaller than the one displayed, dirty, smelled like mildew, the young Asian guy was nice to me until I declined the storage room then he was rude and not helpful plus he did not know the floor to go to then I told him it’s one floor below and the sad part was there wasn’t enough staff and the manager was the reason why I was interested at first because of his knowledge, understanding, patience, excellent customer service It’s just the store needs a make over and the storage facility or put Andre into a new store in a higher traffic location he is an asset to any company especially U-haul. He is the reason why there’s any business his personality is excellent and service is A1!!!!! Thank you Andre

Our belongings were destroyed by water damage, mold and mildew destroyed our storage boxes and possessions. It was disgraceful!! The precious valuables were things treasured from years, decades ago and no value could be put on them. We will never get those pictures, diplomas and various other treasures our family saved. Shame on uhaul and their flushing facility and employees. I will never use or recommend you again!

The day befor I pickup, I came to U-Haul saturday to make reservations that I needed the 15'N Truck Van, same as I had rented before, I sad. But that U-Haul employer he dont answered, he just printed the papers he needed and he give me the copy. Than he serving athers customers. On the ways I go home I repeat to read the paper he gives to me that I realized that I got big citing from that guys, he dont give me the 15'N truck Van as I ask hem, he just put van in the paper. The nex days when I came to pickup the car, I asking again the Van'15 N, but he answered 'you get what in the paper printed.!!* This is actually reason I can't returned the van as shedulled...! Good luck U-Haul.....!!!**
