Truck rented was in very bad shape. There were green damage stickers throughout the truck. The steering wheel was worn away. We found the truck being charged via an outlet when we arrived (made me question if there was also some kind of battery issue). Customer service was subpar. Upon checking in, we waited awhile to have the truck retrieved for us. The location is very convienent.

I was called on the day before by a U Haul representative saying that my truck was not available at that location. Had to fight for it and that is not nice. Also, the dolly inside the truck was bothering the loading of it and we had to move it out of the way, causing me to unnecessarily pay an extra 7 dollars, even if I did not need it. I should not be there.

It was great if we're talking strictly about location. The Flushing U-Haul center is nice in that when you return the vehicle, there's a place where you bring it and they clean it immediately. The truck that I received was basically brand new. It had exactly 38 miles to it, so It was nice to have driven a new truck. My only qualm is with the checkout process. You have to go through so many steps in order to get your vehicle that it seems to make more sense to go inside the store and pick up your truck and keys. The interaction with the mobile version still requires a human to intervene and check the photo ID and headshot. It seems like the mobile version was created in order to make the checkout process quicker and more convenient, but I'm not sure it quite solved the problem. A suggestion would be this: If you're going to use the mobile checkout, a user should create an online profile with the information already placed into the system beforehand. This will give some buffer time since it seems like you still need a human to verify the ID. If one does input the information ahead of time, when you get to the rental center, all you need to do is find your vehicle, find the key, and head out. I saw people around me getting rejected asking for a new photo of themselves or their driver's license and they all seemed in a hurry to leave. Thankfully my photo went through in less than 5 minutes. A I have a couple of more thoughts on areas of improvement but I'll leave it here. Other than that, my experience was beyond what I was expecting. I've rented U-Haul vehicles in the past and this was by far the best experience. Definitely an improvement from the past.

After reserving a van for 12:00pm that I was supposed to pick up in Long Island City, and riding an hour on the train to get there, I was told they didn't have a van reserved for me. At 12:30 I received a text message saying my van was to be picked up in Flushing Queens. It took me another hour and a half to get there by train. I needed the Van at 12:00 in Brooklyn and I didn't get one until 2:30 and had to pay for gas and 20 extra miles of your mileage charge to travel from Queens to Brooklyn and back to do my move. Because of this, besides the headache of this mess up, I couldn't get my belongings moved in time and had to pay for all the extra miles. No one was helpful to me. This was a very poor experience.

The reps should've helped the customers quicker. I was in line for a long time due to the reps having a private conversation while people were waiting, no class!! I received the truck with a 3/4 full of gas and I turned it in with 7/8 tank and I was told very rudely that I should've read my contract there is nothing they could do!! Last time I use any uhaul for my move I'd rather spend the money and contract a moving company.. thanks for the bad experience uhaul...
