I rented a 20 foot Uhaul truck for a local trip on 6/30/19 from the Uhaul Moving and Storage, 3630 College Point Blvd, Flushing, NY. Unfortunately, as I was driving the truck back to the Uhaul store location that same day, another driver crashed into my truck, due to no fault of my own. The other driver admitted to losing control of her vehicle and colliding into my Uhaul truck (this is documented in the police report, which I shared with Uhaul’s insurance company Repwest). I contacted Uhaul’s roadside assistance department soon after the accident, and they recommended use a local Uhaul recommended tow truck company so it could be returned directly to Uhaul. I asked the police officers at the accident scene if I could choose a Uhaul recommended tow truck company, and they did not allow me to. Instead, they chose a local tow company that did not partner with Uhaul, and that company took the truck to its own local impound lot. I had to pay for an Uber so I could return to the Uhaul store to retrieve my personal vehicle, which I had parked there earlier that morning. I made sure I retrieved the 18 furniture pads I rented from the truck and carried them myself to the Uhaul store so they would not get lost at the impound lot. Upon returning to the Uhaul store later that day, I informed the manager, Andre, about the accident. I shared the details of what occurred with him, and followed his recommendations to submit a claim with Repwest. I also let him know that I returned all of the furniture pad rentals, and he confirmed he received them, so I would not be charged any extra fees. I also gave Andre the name, location and contact information for the tow truck company to help him retrieve the damaged truck (I also shared this information with Uhaul’s roadside assistance department). Later that same day on 6/30/19, I filed an accident claim with both GEICO (my personal insurance, which provides coverage for rental vehicles) and Repwest. Afterwards, I provided Andre with all of the accident claim numbers as he requested, in addition to the mileage on the truck, to assist him with completing the truck reservation. On 7/2/2019, I contacted Andre via telephone to confirm the status of the truck repair, and he informed me that he was having difficulty retrieving the truck because he did not have all of the vehicle documentation required by the tow truck company; so the truck remained in the impound lot longer than I had anticipated, due to no fault of my own. Additionally, GEICO informed me that I would not have to pay anything out of pocket for truck damages while the accident claims were in process, especially since the other driver caused the accident; and they further elaborated that Uhaul should not charge me directly for damages because one of the auto insurance companies involved with the claim would cover the costs. Windshield to the truck was full of dead bugs so I had to scrub it off after loading the truck. The interior of the truck was very clean otherwise.

Please have your employees stop trying to force customers to check out their rental online. I specifically wanted to deal with someone in the store when picking up my rental. Long story short, the online process was not working, and 40 minutes later, the employee ended up having to manually enter in all my information for the rental (as I originally requested). Waste of time and energy.

I arrived to return my truck at about 1:30pm on a Friday afternoon. There was no body at this location to handle the return check out process. The signs says pull up to the return bay to be processed for truck return. I waited over 20 minutes. I even went into the customer counter and ask. The check out clerk told me that there should be someone at the return bay. NOT! Finally, I guess he was a manager, told me to do the self check out. After wasted almost 30 minutes and then I had to spend another 20 minutes to do my own check out. All in all, the UHAUL corporation just wasted 50 minutes of my time to do the job of someone else's. I think UHAUL owe my $60 because that is how much I charge for my professional service.

Three times I got off line to try to get a truck through my smart phone at the encouragement of your employees. Three times when I got to the truck it had a problem. I finally got to clerk who was able to give me a truck. an hour and a half for nothing. Very frustrating! Only reason I am giving you a below average rating.

For both pick up and drop off, it took an hour of waiting in line and the lines only had 3-4 people with some of them only buying boxes. Staff was exceptionally slow.

This was the worst customer service experience of my life. The equipment was not only unavailable for several hours after the supposedly “guaranteed” pickup time - the representatives also refused to provide information about the timing we would be able to get a truck, if at all. U haul made my moving weekend deeply frustrating and stressful even though I made this reservation months in advance. In the end I had to drive 45 minutes away from the designated pickup to get a truck 4 hours after the scheduled time.

The process for booking a reservation was very quick and convenient. However, to retrieve the vehicle it took nearly 30 minutes and none of the employees were helpful. Was told to wait on a line when I didn't need to, never got the dolley i requested and approval of my information took 15 minutes

This is the worst place I went. I just remembered when I got there. The owner is unfriendly and rude. I am pretty sure that you will be loosing a lot of customers because of poor customer service. I won't go back to this place again
