Truck has an engine misfire. The brakes hesitated going down steep grades and had strong smell at times. Oil pressure went up all the way sometimes then back down. Would not go above 70. Even pushing the gas pedal it just doesn’t seem to go. Had to stay in slow lane entire time. But hey the radio and ac work great.

I had forgotten my keys at home upon dropping off the uhaul so I asked my son to bring me my keys while I waited for him. When he pulled up the manager was extremely rude to him as he didn't know where I was and was driving around the property looking for me. For whatever reason he felt he needed to be rude to my teenage son. It was unnecessary.

There is mice poop everywhere in my unit, no light inside the unit, an inch opening along the bottom of my entire unit making it very accessible for mice, and the outdoor access code box didn't work so anyone can just walk in with the automatic door.

The check-in experience was originally unhelpful and unpleasant. This is my first experience renting a Uhaul and apparently I reserved to use mobile pick-up. No idea I had done this so when I checked in was given attitude about how I made the reservation. I suggested that maybe it had been changed when I had to speak to 2 different representatives because of the changes that were made to my reservation within the 2 days before the rental. Also while checking in I had to use my debit card although I had mad arrangement for Affirm to be used which could have also made the reservation mobile. However, when I put my debit card in the machine I wen to put in my pin as it asked for and the man acted as though I had messed it all up. I didn't know not to enter my pin. Perhaps, he should have told me. I thought he was rude when he told me, but it was someone with me who pointed out he acted like I was "breaking the law". He also never told us that we need to return the truck with a full gas tank and not to the level we had received it at thus costing me additional money at the end of the rental. Overall a negative experience.

The only problem that I had is that I wanted to make sure that it was completed before I left. Apparently this location only had one thing to check it in on the mobile app, and the employee couldn't finish it on the computer before I left. When the other guy (an older gentlemen) finally came with the phone that they had, I felt he was being rude by asking me if that I had checked in and they would finish it and send it thru email. Uhm, excuse you, but I was patiently waiting on YOU to get done with your customer, he could have given the guy the phone or whatever so I could finish. The guy that checked the truck out, he was great. He had already told me, that I could go, and I didn't want to because I wanted to make sure it got done.

The employee (Mark) was unbelievably unprofessional. He threw my ID at me after your program has issues reading the back side of the card. Then when we went outside he backed up the truck, left the door open, pointed to it and walked away. There wasn’t ANY walk around, any instruction given, nothing. Thankfully the truck was sound and did t have any issues. I’ve used that location several times and never had any issues. Honestly the guy was a complete jerk and I’ll be using another location moving forward.

Went to return truck, the guy was not nice. Told me to go start truck and he’d check it in. I waited 20 mins he didn’t come. I turned truck off because I didn’t want the 55.00 of gas running out I just put in there. I also had a bird hit the passenger mirror there was blood and feathers on the passenger door. I didn’t get to tell him anything. I finally left, then a few mins later another charge to my card. I’d never recommend this U-Haul. The guy in the morning was tolerable, not nice by any means. The guy at check in was awful.

We were given a vehicle with 5/8ths of a tank of gas and told there would be no charge if it was still 5/8ths of a tank when we returned it. No gas gauge that I am aware of does 8ths, as a result we brought the vehicle back with the gas gauge showing above half a tank (4/8ths) assuming we were fine, it was not. There was an additional charge for 1.5 gallons of gas. I suggest in the future when a truck is signed out it is full and the request is made to the customer that they bring it back topped off to avoid confusion and irritation at the conclusion of the transaction.

I don’t like name calling but I truly believe the man I dealt with was sexist and stupid. Don’t know his name but he’s bald and wasted our time for almost an hour and didn’t listen to a word I (a woman) said. I just needed the keys but he refused to listen to my 3 attempts of saying I need the keys to a truck I’ve already rented at this point but he was so adamant about talking to my boyfriend about the renting process EVEN though I had already rented it under me and just needed the keys. And the bathroom had dried pee, kid you not, all over the seat. Get a new team is my opinion, everything else was superb with the equipment

You are understaffed and the office employees are not properly trained for Management duties. Records on the rentals are inaccurate and conflicting with records from the same primary store middle management has but, still in conflict. Management is a mess!

Tell people about the charge for the extra days. I flat out asked if it was a miles or time for the trip. I was told to my face it was just the miles. Then after enough difficulty in getting here I return the dolly and get charged an extra $75 with no idea it was coming because I was lied to. I will never use nor recommend uhaul again. I was lied to in the beginning by an incompetent employee that told me 136$ to rent the dolly because according to the next employee the previous guy that set up my reservation made it for helena to helena with a note moving to West Virginia. Then once in the office booking it found out then it was $507. That one I understand I had to pay because it was an error for the wrong trip and was told up front. However not being told about a charge I directly asked about and then charged after the fact and finding out by getting charged and an email.

Confusion on which indoor locker I was getting. Signed up for one and after making my way there, to find out 2 locks were on that one...so all the wah back out to be shown a different one. Confusion on the price of the locker. Was told 1 month free when pre paying for a year. Total wasn't for 11 months ...was for 12. Questioned and then after the 2nd time he adjusted to paying for 11 months. Experience wasn't the best but my stuff sure better be in the new locker that I DIDNT get paper work on but was assured it was right when I left.

door security keypad had issue's a couple of times. was also charged two separate late fees although I had specifically asked the Uhaul rep to ensure my bill was set to 'auto-pay' from my bank when my storage units were set up both times. one of the Uhaul rep' guys didn't know how to use your computer system.

When originally renting unit I was told ground level and a 10x10. When I arrived to start using the unit it was on the second floor and only 8x10. Pricing was also a little on the steep side. I just rented a 10x20 for MUCH cheaper with someone else.

Numerous times I had to go to the office to have them unlock the back sliding door during business hours. At least three times after office hours the doors with the codes did not work. The latest was last week at 6;55 and the office was already locked up when it says they don’t leave until 7. I needed in that night and had to incur another charge. I moved all my stuff to a new site because of accessibility.

This is the second summer I have rented a small storage unit for my son who attends college in Helena, MT, while permanently residing in IL. The best thing about this location is the staff. They are kind, helpful, and just all around great people. They make a process that is potentially miserable (moving kids back and forth to college) way easier and more pleasant.

The gentleman in the store Tuesday was not super helpful until the third time I came back in stating that I did not understand how to disarm my unit and that the door kept saying it was denied and not checked in. He finally came out and showed us the correct terminal to use to disarm the unit... then I had to go back in because the lock was not in the unit only for the janitor lady who was chillin inside to say oh yeah we don't do that anymore you'll have to give her one from behind the counter. One of the keys is bent but works. The facility is nice but the young gentleman at the counter was not super helpful.

There was some miscommunication at first. As when I had called we had set up the storage and the truck. However that was not what happen when my kids got there. It was fixed and taken care of. I was charged 62.00 for a truck wr had for a couple hours and a free storage for 30 days. Seems really expensive when I was told 29.00.

We were told to use your company because of the K-Mart facility. If Lyndale is to be regarded as convenient for storage of heavy furniture and other heavy household items, then please kindly replace the second level stairs with ramps because your company is not offering any equipment that allows us to safely get heavy items up those stairs. Now I will have to hire another expensive moving crew to get all of those items out of there and it is almost impossible to find reliable and trustworthy moving crews in Helena who actually want to work. My understanding is that move-in to your K-Mart facility would have been much easier. Also, there needs to be enhancement of the instructions for initial entry into the building. The current instructions are not clear about the fact that we have to input access information on two different keypads before entering.

The customer service was excellent. I originally made reservation via the web since I live out-of-state. However, my daughter who attends college in Helena felt the storage unit we reserved may be too small. I went online to reserve bigger unit but couldn't find a way to cancel my previous reservation. When I called the U-haul storage facility, the person I spoke to took care of cancelling my reservation (no hassle) and moved me to a better unit for my daughter than what I originally reserved. Being so far away, I am so thankful for all of the help that was provided. My daughter successfully moved her stuff in and is very happy with the unit and the service that was provided to her. Ok, SO I had a terrible moving experience (That's what I get for not just going with Uhaul in the first place). I spoke with Taylor, the GM, at my Uhaul branch and she was absolutely amazing! She got me my first 30 days for my storage unit for free and got me a unit close to the door for my very very crappy moving company to deliver my stuff to. The price was comparable to many other storage facilities AND offered heated storage which was a HUGE bonus for me to not have my things in a storage unit where the outdoor temp can fluctuate between -5 degrees and 50 degrees in a weeks period. Every time I was at the unit the common area was clean and well lit. The staff was always super helpful whenever I needed assistance. My only gripe about the whole thing is that their parking situation could be a little better. It was difficult trying to get a Dodge truck and covered trailer in there because loading docks had parking blocks on them that could be easily tripped over loading and unloading trailers (and in my case, made it impossible to lower my covered trailer's loading ramp down, {This however would be a non-issue if you are using a Uhaul rental truck/trailer}) and so the only other entrance to the building is not well designed to handle a vehicle with an attached trailer for unloading and loading, but we got it done. It's because of the STELLAR customer service I experienced with Taylor (The GM) that I will never bother with a moving company again and just go straight to Uhaul for any and all moving and storage needs. PS. PLEASE PLEASE If you choose to use a moving company make sure you RESEARCH and check the Better Business Bureau for that specific moving company.

I paid for a 10x10x10 space (or something like that). There was a pole in the middle of it this cutting the space into quadrants. The space I paid for is NOT the space I got. The store wouldn’t even offer me a discount! AND...there is NO elevator. NO ELEVATOR?!??

When my mother passed away, I needed a place to store her items so I could sort through them all. I was able to get the right size unit immediately, and had access whenever I needed it. The staff was always super professional and helpful. I also very much appreciated how quickly COVID measures were adopted so that the facility was safe.

We did run across some mice running around in the storage facility. Also was displeased when I delayed a payment by about 2 days when Covid-19 hit us. I was charged a "late fee" and even though I explained my situation (husband just died), no break at all. I thought it was rather inhuman considering the circumstances. I'd never had a late payment to them for the years we had the unit.

The service was great. What was NOT great was finding out the large storage locker I ordered has a support beam running through it. That makes is functionally NOT the size of the locker I rented. You should inform clients and offer a discount. That is crap.

We keep getting storage bills after I paid and turned in card keys. First month was free but next 3 days cost over $54. Now they $20.00 for a late fee . Something wrong somewhere, over.
