My biggest issue is that I was give a vehicle with a 1/4 a tank of gas and had to drive to Kaneohe. I had to put gas in the vehicle once I got to Kaneohe before I even loaded the truck it was very inconvenient and should have been provided with no less than a half tank of gas! It is unacceptable to make a person renting a truck take even more on to have to worry about getting gas before loading and unloading the truck. I get returning it with the same amount as it’s issued but the rental location should make sure that it is issued out with no less than 1/2 a tank at all times! This not only added time to my move, it added unnecessary stress, unplanned/inconvenient stop and is truly unacceptable when renting a moving truck! Other than that the equipment was fine. There was scratches and dents not noted but I ensured I noted everything and took pictures to protect myself should the need arise. I made sure the vehicle was turned in clean and with more gas then I was given it with but had to get gas twice due to the fact it barely had enough to make it to Kaneohe just to load up the truck! That was sooooo disappointing and frustrating!

Halamehi AholeileiI booked a reservation on March 5, 2024 for 4:30 PM pick up and the associate asked me whether I need the rental for longer, so I asked if there’s an extra fee and the associate said no, then his colleague then suggested to have it until 7 AM for the next day drop off considering there’s no price difference according to them. The rental was returned at 12 AM and dropped the keys. Then on March 6, I received a receipt through email that I was charged an after hours fee of $20. They didn’t disclose this and they misled me on wrong information and therefore I am asking for a refund.

ITS NOT THE POINT! AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS ARE HORRIBLE!! THEY NEED NEW MANAGEMENT!!!

Noa Souki1. The tall blonde fellow who checked us in was pleasant enough. However, he instructed us to leave the truck on site/closeby if delivered after 5pm closing. Leave keys in drop. When we returned the van shortly after 5pm, one truck was blocking the entrance. Fortunately, a woman employee who will be leaving UHAUL for another opportunity asked if Taylor? who checked us in informed us that we needed to take pictures & upload otherwise we'd be charged an additional penalty. He did not. She stayed past her work time to check our vehicle, move the van that someone else left in the way. 2. The two vans offered both had only a quarter tank of fuel which required us to add gas before we started our move (causing unnecessary delays). Our van also had a "change oil" light on. Lock on passenger side out of order. Truck heavily used, but clean. 3. The women who worked on Sunday 2/25th who will be leaving UHAUL soon for opportunity in the Philipines should be given a raise and management position.

DARRYL ROSAEveryone in the counter was very polite and efficient. They gave great customer service despite the problems with the data connection and the long lines. Even returning the truck was the easiest I ever experienced. Kudos to everyone and I will likely come back in the future. I also liked that there was a promo for free month storage after my reservation with a participating location.

Maybe best to tell them to look up on photo before accusing customer… A/C of this vehicle did not get cold. Please consider not charging me rental fee.. w head no AC and it is very hot in Hawaii. Dean CheyneyStaff was responsive, professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Condition of the vehicle was very good: clean, voluminous, and easy to drive. Greatly appreciate remotely articulated side mirrors. Will not hesitate to recommend U-Haul to family and friends if moving stuff too large for their cars. Kilihau lot is crowded, and in a congested area - no surprise in urban Honolulu, but there may be other locations that could accommodate a renter's personal vehicle while he or she leased from you. While we had a solution, it involved another family member to drop off/pick up. That said, the inconvenience was clearly outweighed by your staff, and the capabilities of the van. Thank you, and keep up the good work.

Maureen CopeskeyMy sure that the mileage is actually correct. I had 2 extra miles before I began use of the truck. The general manager even took a picture and said not to worry. I dropped the truck off 5 minutes before closing and was told that they had already closed for the day. The next morning my contract was completed with the 2 extra miles. I figured what's the point of getting up set, this is how they do at this location.
Larry MetoyerThere appeared to be old damages on the rental that were not indicated on the picture of the rental during inspection. The app gave me the choice to accept or dispute the picture. When I tried to dispute the picture to indicate the damages, the app froze and didn’t allow me to upload any pictures. However, the app would continue only if I pressed the accept option. Upon return of the vehicle I was delayed because I was questioned about the damage and had to explain that the damage on the vehicle was already present during the rental process. In my opinion, U-Haul should update the inspection pictures with current photos. Also the link to check out these rental vehicles should be more user friendly. Thank you.

Paul CoolWhen I got the truck it was at 1/4 tank but the website indicated that the truck had 3/8 tank inside. I took a picture to upload to your website and it was clearly at a 1/4 tank. The mileage was also off by a mile or so. I am charged $50+ because I brought it back with it being a tick below 1/4 tank and they said it’s because when I took it it was at 3/8. Check pictures uploaded to your website please. I find that unfair. Mahalo

Debra LoThe woman that checked me in was not polite at all and had me running checks on the vehicle like I worked there. Please teach your people how to do a turn in without having the customer assist. Also, she scolded me for "disputing" the damages in the app when I checked the vehicle out. The images were far too small for me to tell what, if any, were identified so I took new pictures showing the damage that was there before I got it. Then she got mad at me and said, "great, now I have to take pictures all over again." No hello, goodbye, please or thank you. This is the rudest interaction I've had with anyone on the island. The equipment did it's job far better than she did.

What I personally noticed was the effort put into keeping a customer pleased. whether it be using one of their many rental vehicles or changing your storage units to better suit your needs, the employees at U-Haul Nimitz were helpful in every way and more.....I would rate them 8 out of 10 🌟 stars if that were an option because their price is a little steeper then the more rinky dink storage facilities around. Very deserving of a 5 star 🌟 rating.

They are not moving slow, it is usually only one person there! Also, it was very frustrating to get into the storage facility because we would have to swipe the card over and over to get in and there was nothing wrong with my card and I saw it happening to other people. Your security is good, but don't keep your customers out too!

When i got to the facility, they had no record of my reservation, except for my credit card. My card was on file, but NOTHING else, so they were prepared to charge me, but I had to repeat the process to reserve for a third time since the first two times were not good enough. The supervisor of the employee helping me was not very helpful and they let her struggle and it took over 30 minutes for me to REDO my reservation. Waste of time and then they forgot my dolly and made the swipe card wrong for the facility. Will not use Uhaul again after my one month of storage is up.
