The man helping us figure out our uhaul reservation was really impatient and rude. He seemed really irritated to help us. Obviously he does this job every day but he was rushing and mumbling through everything.

I thought the Hyannis location where we pick up our uboxes was excellent. It must be because of the manager there. I believe her name is Barbara. Very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the use of uboxes. From Georgia to Cape Cod no problems at all.

Took 35 minutes to check in. My app kept asking me to cancel my reservation if I wasn’t going to make it. I was in line for a life time. It took me longer to check out and check in than the length of time I needed the trailer. I hope that Tractor Supply starts renting at this location so that I don’t have to rent from. Uhaul.

When we were able to get to the manager, the experience was great. There was only one person manning the register/rental desk. This is great if the customers in front of you don't have a problem and need each rental charge explained to them for ten minutes or more. Otherwise you wait and wait...... Just a suggestion. Thanks!

Was fortunate to get a new truck for my 7-hour, one-way trip to PA. The truck was clean, ran well and had WiFi, all good.

I picked up a u-haul truck on April 19 and picked up two u-boxes on sunday April 27. On both days i got to the store there was a very long line of people. It took over an hour to get helped at the service counter. There was one person working the counter and two other people wearing u-haul shirts doing nothing. The u-box pick up on the 27 was a complete disaster. I arranged to pick up the u-boxes in Hyannis. I called the store on Saturday the 26th to confirm the u-boxes would be in hyannis at 9AM on the 27th and was told they would be. When I arrived in Hyannis on Sunday the 27th I was told the U-boxes were available in New Bedford. A U-haul dispatcher (on the phone with hyannis) said they tried calling me on saturday to tell me the u-boxes would be in New Bedford. No one from u-haul called me about the switch to New Bedford.

I think you should be able to go into the location and be able to get help with checking out a truck and not be told that everything has to go through the app.

They called the day after dropping off the trailer asking when the trailer would be returned. I only had to send them a picture of the trailer license plate and they located the trailer on their lot. All was fine and receipt was texted to me. They were kind and responsive. Thank you. Gary

This facility is either understaffed or staffed by dis-intetested employees. One man at the counter, short with people waiting, no personality and not even remotely helpful beyond the bare, bare minimum. Didn't expect a new trailer but this one must have been one of the first purchased by U Haul. Another provider would not have to work too hard to put Hyannis out of business.

Had reservation ready to go. Ended up waiting close to an hour and half before I could hook up to the trailer. Ended up costing me 2 hours to make it to the New London ferry.

The only reason I gave it an average rating. It’s because of my interaction with an individual who called himself the assistant manager by the name of JOE. It happened at my initial Rental he was ill-informed of the contract and the pricing he was abrasive and condescending. If it wasn’t for a young man who was in training and had only worked there for five days, I would’ve walked out and not come back. Also, the policy you have I was giving an emergency contact person and their phone number and then calling them to make sure it’s really them and the phone number is right is absurd. I waited almost 45 minutes Well, giving numbers and having my contacts not answer their phone they would not let me leave until I had the correct numbers this policy is ludicrous.

My first inquiry and making the reservation on this rental was pleasant. Unfortunately, upon my return to actually pick up the rental, my experience was not pleasurable. I honestly don’t think I have met a less accommodating person in retail in many many years. I am a very easy person to deal with, but this one certainly tested my patience. If I would’ve had another option for a rental location in this proximity, I would’ve taken it. But unfortunately, I did not have an option.

The employee working was extremely friendly and offered his assistance if we ran into any problems using the app to pickup our truck. The truck was clean and in its designated spot. This experience was very positive and different from my UHAUL experience 2 weeks earlier at a different location and which was a nightmare. .

I was not a big fan of having to use the app and reserving the U-Haul , when I finally got it figured out I needed help and nobody was in the store that could assist me . The workers outside were amazing !

There were quite a few customers making returns at the same time (2:30 pm), and too few people to receive the vehicles. It was quite a backup. However, the young man working the problem was very good and took care of the backup. Well done to him. All in all it was a very good experience, and solved my logistics problem very well.

We had a very good experience. Joe (or John) was very professional & quick to get us on our way. Returning the truck went very smoothly too. The only “negative” that we could find was that the front desk needed additional personnel on a Saturday morning.

A few things that could be improved 1) Having less customer service than the last time I rented at uphaul a little more explanation on the pickup process for I was a little confused at first getting the key for vehicle, but figured it out. 2) I noted the top of the truck box has ice/snow on top and some fell off on highway and the rest when I parked it on a hill. This should have been removed prior to rental. I assume this is a High liability for Uhaul.

The online checkin and out process through the app was lengthy and difficult to navigate. When I went to drop the truck off, I was struggling through the check out on the app while an employee kept walking by me, never once checking if I needed help! I was there at least ten minutes while he just walked back and forth to other trucks cleaning around me.

Originally I was told if moving out early I would get a pro rated refund but when I moved out on 1/17/25 I was told there were no refunds. I could have left some smaller items in there that I could have moved without assistance at a gradual pace. As a senior citizen this bothered me.

I live some distance from the facility and I had an issue that was unable to be resolved on a Saturday. However, staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful and quickly resolved my issue on Monday with professionalism and courtesy. This facility refused to pro rate 2/3 of a month not used and kept a full months payment. They allowed a partially disassembled vehicle with parts strewn on the ground, loose tarps and fiber board next to my RV. Wind blew material up against and under m the vehicle. Loose metal parts were strewn about.

They were very patient while undergoing the entire experience. I can't tell you how grateful I am for your team and their cooperation. Most of all my tardiness. I notified you in person on Friday September 27th at 3:00pm I had moved out, a female went to my unit to confirm I had removed the lock. When I did not receive a confirmation email I called the next day several times with no answer. I called again several times on Sunday, no answer. I left SEVERAL messages with the number it transfers to, they assured me they sent you a message to call me. On Oct. 3rd I received an email my rent was due. I called the Hyannis office to notify them again I had moved out. I called 7-8 TIMES throughout the day on Oct 3, 4, & 5 , it always transfers to someone else, who sends you a message to call me and that I moved out Sept 27. I received a call from Hyannis office Oct 6 because someone noticed my lock was gone. YOU NEED TO START CHECKING YOUR MESSAGES, OR ANSWERING THE PHONE.

I am a disabled person and they knew that because when I pulled in he told me I couldn’t park in the handicap spot cause I need to get trucks in so I had to move my van and come back there’s five people in line before we had to wait another 45 minutes to get there and they put me in a place where I couldn’t get in and out of the storage area because of the ramp it was so awful one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life

I moved out on 9/13. Payment was automatically made the day before on 9/12. I was hoping to receive a refund for the unused 29 days but I was told that wasn’t Uhauls policy. My question is why isn’t it your policy? My question was escalated to Barbara on 800-468-4285 who said she would look into my request and call me back, bust I’ve not yet heard from her.

Intake was perfect , staff , especially Ronnie were very helpful in getting my wife squared away with my home for the college kid(s) stuff Unit 1077 Hyannis MA However the closure process was not the same experience , we were always checking out on 8/27 for my son’s departure back to college . Not made aware that pre-payment pulled on 8/20 would not be prorated or refunded in any way We expected to be a repeat customer for many years to come with 2 other college age students in the family These terms were never disclosed to us ! Horrible place for both truck rentals and storage u it’s. I had 10k of items destroyed by water damage from their leaky roofs in storage units. She. Was told I had to throw away the stuff their damaged poor maintained storage units damaged significantly a lot of my belongings. I said they can. So I said you need to fix these u it’s. She said she will. Im sure she says it but does nothing. Like when I rented the unit. She should disclose that their roofs are damaged. I have tons of proof. As I would not have garbage if they took care of the u it’s that they charged a fortune for. Mildew and wet items ruined everything. Then I return the truck and the rude manager chases me down saying I did t clean the truck. So then I clean it. Then they send me a receipt saying I owed gas when I topped it off to the half tank I was given. I only went 87 miles and put in ten gallons of gas. Do the math. Horrible place. They should be shut down.

I got charged a full month's rent for one day even though I came in to your office the same day as I was charged on the autopay to inform you that I would be emptying out the bin the next day and that I had reserved a truck from you the day before. If I had been able to penetrate your phone system, I would have called, but the phone system is useless and I did not have time to come over and had no idea that you would be that inflexible. I rented two bins for about 6 months and paid on time by autopay and this is how you treat people? Not good. I understand this decision comes from corporate, but it was ridiculous.

I fell behind in my storage payments and I asked to have someone help me and they transferred me to somone hire up and she did not help at all . Or even try . These storage people not just U-Haul but every single company is all about themselves none of them help in any way . They don’t except partial Payments cause it will mess up there company amd that never will help customer especially I’m todays economy where everyone is struggle . Very sad .

U-Haul truck was parked in the spot (very s mall spot for what is advertised) I reserved and paid for. It took over 40 minutes for staff to move the vehicle out of the spot. I went to exit the security gate only to find that a remote was needed to open the gate. I had no idea that a remote was needed. Never was offered. Even on the reservation page.

Outdoor unit had plastic sheeting lining the ceiling of my unit. It decayed over the years and left fragments of decomposed plastic over everything leaving a mess. Wind came through over the walls with no seal at the ceiling so this caused your plastic sheeting to flap and disintegrate all the more quickly. Terrible design flaw for those outdoor units

I need to say this I’m just stable and I parked out front there’s another vehicle beside deer Park there and they were putting boxes in the car and I parked beside him and I pull up farther than them and I go inside I’m still in line waiting waiting I finally go up and some guy comes in at work here and said I have to move my van because it’s in the lane and I’m like OK so I won’t move it which wasn’t easy for me believe me and I come back in and there’s five people in front of me now so I’m waiting and waiting and waiting in line she finally text me again and the girl at the desk was very nice she’s very helpful but the guy who told me the movie was very rude to me he was very rude to me since you’ve got to move it right now so I go to the place now I’m disabled and I got a van in and it’s uphill in a ramp and there’s railing in front of my thing so I can’t put the boxes out there up I got a move him up and then put them in very hard for me and my girlfriend was there and she was so mad that it took so long inside she start arguing with me and we broke up I tell you I will never ever use you guys again and I’m gonna tell everybody about the situation I am disabled I shouldn’t be treated like a second-class citizen

Poor customer service; bad corporate policies; terrible and stringent policy of locking units after only two days late on a payment; lost hundreds of $$$ because of said policy; complained to corporate _ nothing was done; the only positive aspect was the hours of access & the key fob button. Otherwise, U-HAUL treats their loyal customers like shitheads. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible...

There wasn’t specific information about the split level unit, because when I googled it I had a different understanding based on pictures on a uhaul website (it made it look like part of the unit would be on the ground, and part would need to be accessed by a ladder, like split into 2 units within the unit if that makes sense - as opposed to the whole unit being up a flight of steps). So I couldn’t move one of the items of furniture in there because I was so physically worn out from the move. And I was told in the initial email it would be on the first floor so I had assumed it was the actual floor. I selected it because it looked like it was discounted but really it was just the normal price of that unit, it was confusing. If I had understood I would’ve paid for a first floor unit that was on the first floor.

Jake provided some of the worst customer service I have experienced in many years. Jake is rude. He over talks his customers & shhhhed my husband. Jake refused to complete the sale of a storage unit at the counter and told us to back to our car to down load the app and complete the rental ourselves.

Was not happy to find that after a snowstorm my storage unit had snow in it. The inside roof insulation had all fallen off. My two laptops & many other electronics were ruined after having sat in melted snow. No one said anything about the unit not being safe from to much rain or snow. Had I known that I never would have taken an outside unit.

‘No’s & average’ for broken gate, not well maintained. So not secure, & misleading. Otherwise, great cust service! They need a raise & more help! Sara was very professional & accommodating, from my call, to in person contact on Fri, 4/14/23. She told me she wouldn’t be there when I arrived almost an hr later, but assured me, Tom would assign me my ‘new’ storage container. Low & behold, she was still there, due to being very busy & the 2 were bogged down w/all kinds of things going on, in & outside w/ppl. They’d even had an auction earlier! Sara was very calm, polite & friendly at all times, to everyone, despite the obviously stressful time she was immersed in...Well after she was supposed to have gone home! Tom was kept busy outside w/just sporadic moments in, to help Sara w/different ppl & issues, incl computer. I had to wait a good hr, myself, so had time to observe everything going on. And pretty much everything did, w/a wide variety of ppl w/numerous requests & problems. Tom was very friendly, smiling w/everyone, & disarming impatient ppl w/his friendly demeanor, as if it was just a regular day at the office. When clearly, it was not. They easily needed at least 2 more knowledgeable ppl on. When I finally got my much awaited storage, I walked right by the swiper, to the gate. I was just going to walk in, to see my spot. So just passed it. Back inside, Sara, finally leaving, told me ‘the yellow post’. But again, I just went for the gate!😂 There were numerous returned rentals lined up I walked around, so I guess on foot, I just didn’t see it. I went in again, now to Tom, holding down the fort solo. Knowing I’d been there a very long time, he finished w/his customer & immediately came out to show me the ‘yellow post’ Sara told me it was on...Before the gate!LOL We both had a good laugh & I again thanked him very much, while telling him how great they both were under so much pressure, when so short handed. I called them ‘the dynamic duo’! And certainly were! They obviously have a good working relationship & their personalities complement each other well. Not 1 being laid back & the other more tense, under stress. It could have easily been 2 nervous, tense nellies, that would have fed into some antsy, impatient ppl waiting. Everyone kept cool, all around. I engaged a couple ppl for distraction, myself. My one complaint has nothing to do with them. The back gate is broken. Wide open. What’s the point of ppl thinking their storage is safe behind locked gates? Especially w/prices stretching some pocketbooks. I’m a senior, myself. My unit is close to that wide open gate. I can easily be seen from well outside it. If I’m there later, do I feel safe w/no one else outside close by? NO! We, as customers paying for a ‘secure’ service, should feel our belongings are safe, yes. More importantly, WE should feel safe, when at our units, alone. Upon my retun today, I also returned scissors I had to go back inside yet again for, yesterday, B/C my new unit had a zip tie on. In a hurry to leave, I forgot to return them! 3 Different ppl were there, w/just 1 client, in an empty place! The 2 guys I spoke with said it was a very slow day. Told them they were definitely needed the day prior! Returned the scissors & asked about the gate. I was told by Sara it wasn’t working right, but I didn’t expect it to be wide open, totally non functional. Both guys said it’s a regular problem w/it. I said I didn’t think it was right & I would be there a lot, solo. And will be concerned. I rented thinking it was going to be secure for both people & their things. I would think U Haul makes enough money to keep their gates working well at all times. Why pay extra for after hours, if you can just go in? Worse, if it’s late, dark & you’re alone in that area of Hyannis. No thank you! I went to Sun Self Storage a couple days prior & no question that was secure. For everyone & everything. They were even less $. UHaul is closer & for $20 more w/all the back ‘n forth w/things, I went w/UHaul. If I’d known there is a regular problem w/a broken gate right at my unit, I would have gone further for $20 less, + a Sr discount & no required ins costing more on top of rental fee. Guess I’m glad I’m paying the extra for ins here, now that I know there’s no gate secure storage at this location. If something happens to a customer, especially at night, cameras, if working, are not going to help prevent it. Especially when so close to the exit. A SECURE gate will. They don’t seem to care it’s a regular issue. I’m retired from working w/NYC crime. It all happens very fast. I’ll see how long it takes to fix. And STAYS fixed, since I was told it may only last a day or 2. And I’ll keep my eye open for another locale I will feel safer at. I need storage for a little while. Same size is no longer avail at Sun.

Renting a storage unit was a painful process. It took 3 calls and 2 trips to the facility. I had the unit for a week and never used it but had to pay for the full month. I was also forced to buy the lock that the staff put on the unit. The experience was awful and I will recommend that no one do business with U-Haul.

The 1st girl who tried to help me, tried. I was under a very stressful situation ,had to be moved out of the place I lived at within 5 hours, a near impossible task. I told her how much stuff and what kind of things I had and at least I got the right size truck. She made no mention of the moving company being out of state and there was no way to personally get hold of them. I was under a lot of stress and not able to navigate emailing them at cetera. The movers were very careful and considerate in moving when they finally arrived an hour later than scheduled. I understand it wasn't their fault as they came from out of state and hit traffic. Would be nice to know that if Uhaul was going to recommend movers they would pick somebody closer more local. The storage unit however was half the size of what I needed. And so by the time I went to move in the next morning the larger unit was no longer available. And so I had to rent a second unit costing me more out of my budget and Uhaul offered no discount no apology no nothing. The 2nd gentleman that tried to help was Grumpy and very snappy, matter of factly with me. I get you probably hear a lot of sob stories but when people are under a lot of stress it would be nice to have more of an empathetic ear.

I was a tenant of U Haul for 14 years. 1 Each year my rent went up 2 My roll up door on my unit did NOT work properly for 18 months buttt you still got your $ on a monthly basis. Even as staff and managers were told on a monthly basis I still paid my monthly price and had to endure another rate hike before the door was fixed. 3 Your increase letter always stated the increase was due to daily checks of the grounds a d sweeping between rows of units. I never noticed the area had been swept. I am sorry to say but sometimes the truth hurts. Having to be living on Cape Cod one only has so little to choose from of course.

I initially was irritated by having to wait on hold as I had trouble booking online and as attempting to call the Hyannis office directly to see if they could help. George, manager, answered and quickly eased my irritation as well as panic even managing to get a little laugh out of me. I had my issue resolved in very little time thereafter. THIS transaction was stellar. However my previous experience was not. Trailer hitch was not available at time of appt and no one told me until I arrived. Rescheduled. 2nd appt had to wait 30 minutes to be waited on, even though there was only one customer ahead of me. Was told it would be 2 hours to install but it took 4. No waiting area so I had to walk half a mile and wait at another business. Unacceptable in my opinion. I booked storage here because of convenience since I'll be returning a trailer here. Don't get me wrong, everyone was nice, but the trailer hitch situation was not handled professionally

Your staff and management are awful. I was miss lead or lied to several times with no remorse. The locks are all busted up the staff have no clue how to look up stuff on the computer. I was told I would get an extension on the truck and still brought it back that day to see I was still charged that extra day. How can you stit there and tell me you see it was extended just to go back and charge me. Your facility is terrible and the staff need to be retrained oh and I do have pictures of the incident if needed.

I had to upgrade because the truck they said would fit all my things was way too small then they insisted that my things would fit in the storage comparable with the truck I got and lo and behold it did not I had to find somewhere else to put some of my things because they didn’t have another unit available that was bigger even though I said that was probably not big enough and asked for something bigger but they insisted that it would be big enough

Thomas and his team are all very helpful and accommodating. Moves are stressful and I had some challenges with the moving truck itself. The staff were all very helpful and went out of their way to help me find a storage solution while I await truck repairs. I was expecting to have the situation to be a conflict but I was pleasantly surprised with how willing Thomas was to helping solve the situation with the needed truck repairs. I would while heatedly recommend this U-haul store to anyone considering truck rentals, supplies or storage. Thanks again to Thomas and his helpful and informed crew.
