Mike at this location was wonderful, kind and had a big old smile on his face! Much different than the person who greeted us at the Dorchester Rd location in Charleston, the pick up location. Truck was VERY dirty, cup holders had spilled (and then dried juice or soda?) liquid with crumbs all through. Layers of dust on the dash and impressive amount of bug marks on the windshield. Would be nice if they actually cleaned the cabs. Truck ran great otherwise and we completed the mission! Thank you! I would still rent from here, because the price is unbeatable.

I just had them install a trailer hitch on an suv and it turned out well and the work was done for a lot less than having the dealership install it. I would definitely check with this UHaul location about installing a trailer hitch before going elsewhere!

Ron KI really didn’t like that I was forced to buy the insurance on a van without that being indicated on the website when booking. I was informed “this is a manager policy and I can’t let you decline it because other people have refused to pay for damages”. This felt like a scam to me and the customer was not well informed of this “new policy” according to the person at the counter. If this is a policy, it should be clearly stated and built in to the price at the beginning. $15 doesn’t break the bank, it’s simply confusing to give you an option to decline only to be told it’s required later.

John RI love to rent from U-Haul! Love to drive the trucks and vans and have also used the pods! The staff is wonderful! U-Haul has saved me many times as I’ve had to move often! However the check in by phone needs tweaking. I’ve tried it the last two times I’ve rented and it never works and I end up going inside to have staff get me my vehicle. The phone check in asks the same questions that I had previously input when I made the reservation online, (i.e. terms and conditions, do you want insurance, etc.) is slow and doesn’t seem to go through (phone internet circling), and there are things it asks (picture of renter, picture of drivers license) that could have been done when you reserved it versus sitting in car with poor internet connection.

April MBeing charged for 100 miles at $1 a mile was a bit of a surprise. If I knew the price was that much I would have never kept the vehicle any additional time.
Arnold KCheck the U-Hauls before they go out with safety inspections. The brakes on our U-Haul were slipping extremely bad and was extremely unsafe! I suggest maybe a 2 mile drive to check all gauges of the U-Haul before renting it otherwise it could be a not so good outcome for the next driver.

Jeremy S | Online Move InI've rented 3 vehicles at this location recently. On my most recent rental, (Dec 31), I had a significant issue. I made a mobile reservation with a pickup time at 8AM. At 4:30PM on Dec 30, an employee from the store, Mike, called me and told me mobile check-in was not available but he would come in at 8AM to dispatch me (even though they don't open until 9AM). He volunteered to do this. I did not ask. When I showed up on Dec 31st at 8AM, the store was locked up and Mike was not there. It remained locked until 9AM when another employee showed up. When I explained the situation to him, he was rude, never apologized, and said another store must have called me--that I had to be mistaken. The hour delay in picking up the vehicle was a major inconvenience as I had workers waiting on me. This was very disappointing. Brian Batson 210-382-4646
