The staff was always helpful when I visited the site. They were very personable and accommodating to my needs or concerns. They are often busy and the computer system could be glitch but the staff always did their best under pressure. There is riffraff in the area and they try to manage it and keep customers safe-ish

JONATHAN KThe Truck was at 3/4 tank of gas, but contract said tank was full. I made comments about leaving to drive out of state with 3/4 tank of gas. They politely told me where nearest Gas station was $26.00 was the amount from 3/4 to full. Didn"t notice they had marked full on contract until a day later. Yes MY BAD. WHY would a U-Hall Send you going out of stat pulling a Trailer and not fill the tank. Used this same location seven years ago, Rented same Equipment, Truck and Car trailer. SLOPPY
GEORGE RRobin and Jeremiah were amazing !!! They both helped with renting an auto transport from start to finish. Every question we had they were able to answer in a professional and kind way they were very patient. We give them 20stars!!!

Demetria M | Overall ExperienceThe people at the front desk were great. Other than that everything was horrible. The truck was unsafe and should not of been on the road. It had a check engine light the moment I got it and I asked about it and was told it will be fine. The brakes sucked and barely stopped the truck in a timely manner. The steering sucked. It needs a major alignment. The transmission needs some work too because it took forever to shift and the shifts are very hard. That truck shouldn’t be on the road again until it has had a major overhaul.

LEVI AThe safety of the item i rented was NOT up to safe operation standards. Straps were frayed and second safety chain had a severely bent S hook and was not operational. I helped remove a shackle from another hauler to use this one safely. So, whomever is the site manager really needs to thoroughly inspect the equipment before it it rented out. "SAFETY" should always be priority as oppose to how many are rented out.
WILLIAM LRobin, the manager was great. The size I selected was inadequate, so he assigned me another locker. The locker that was supposed to be 5'x8' was smaller than the 5'x5'. It measured out at 4'6” x 5'8". So he assigned me an 8'x8'. The lot has too many Uhaul trucks in it. They had a small box truck blocking the one part of the loading area that ramped down to the parking lot. I arrived with a truck and trailer and could not park in the loading/unloading area. Perpendicular to the building, I would have blocked all access through the lot, parallel, I would have blocked access to the building. I took up a truck parking lane across the lot and spend three hours shuttling my stuff back and forth. As I neared the end of my labors Antoine came over and told me to move as I was preventing them from parking trucks, and his boss would "say something about it". To which I told him that would block others access or access through the lot. (Super cab long bed truck + 16ft long trailer) He suggested I park diagonally. I was almost done and I told him I only had one more trip into the facility. He asked me to "hurry up". I assume this may be his first real job and lacks situational awareness and tact. I returned my trailer and departed. Now I am wondering if I remembered to "check out" with your security system. I found the scan card system rather tedious, but understand it is preventing people from living in the facility
ADAM C | First ImpressionsThis was my third U-Haul rental this month, and unfortunately, this location provided the worst experience so far. When I arrived, I was told I couldn’t use my Apple Card because it was “just like a Cash App or Venmo card.” I explained that it wasn’t the same, but the employee insisted they don’t accept it because “people freeze their cards so they can’t be charged”—and suggested I could do the same. I found that assumption both unprofessional and insulting. I asked to cancel my reservation so I could go to another location, and only then was he willing to try the card, which worked immediately—just as it had at the two previous U-Haul locations with no issues. The truck itself was in poor and unsafe condition. It was dirty upon pickup, which I documented through the online check-out process. While driving, I noticed neither turn signal worked, and I was later informed that two of the three brake lights were out. I returned the truck early because I didn’t feel safe continuing to drive it. Between the attitude at pickup and the unacceptable condition of the vehicle, I won’t be returning to this location.
Patience Lairbag light was on with no way to trun it off.Service Air Bag stayed on on the dash.Check all the lights on the dash and make sure all working.The last time the window washer fluid was empty .

NANCY Rmake sure all the fluids all full , washer fluid was empty when I p/u the van and I had no way to full it. The employee make no attempt to walk around the van with me or explain any controls or how to open hood to check the oil or other fluids. I had to figure out all the controls by mysef using the manual in the glove box.
BARRY NHave return lanes away from active pickup locations. This will make less interruption for both the person dropping off and the one picking up.

BEVERLY TThey told me that my credit card would be charged $54 and they actually charge it $72. The did not give me credit for putting gas in a truck that was on E. Empty. They told me to bring it back 1/4 and I actually bought it back over that. They frauded my account

I went in on the 28th and they told me my account was canceled by somebody and they rented it to another person. That’s double booking. Then they tell me I should’ve had a lock on it or they never told me to put a lock. I told him my disability.

DAN GI put a claim in for the past when I came to move out of my storage unit in October 2024. I notified the general manager well knowledgeable and helpful thank you. Assistant manager truly needs to work on customer service and business ethics and not patronize the customers when he has made numerous errors which caused the general manager to clean up. Therefore customer service is key you're only costing people more money when you're not professional. Also claim department close a claim than ever inquired about and there's numerous funds that needs to be replaced. Kind of upset because me and my son had a surgery and weren't offered a better services without having to come out of the claimants pocket. Did appreciate the support with our families situation.

Fortunately for my move out I found one in good working order and it seems some were finally tagged as out of order. There are parts of the floor that need to be leveled out. Otherwise, the experience was good and I would come back if I need storage in the future.

Jesus R | Overall Experience•I believe the storage facility would benefit from mold remediation like placing charcoal bags in units (standard, like rodent trap) and selling charcoal and mold & moisture repellent products. •Entire staff was incredible including the guy who checked me in originally and out, Vernard, Jeremiah Johnson, the site manager, and every employee. They all deserve raises. Incredibly helpful, efficient, friendly, polite. •There is a lot going on at and near the property that the employees need to be on their toes about and they do not miss a beat. • I was told over the phone (not on site) that I would receive a first floor unit. While technically true, my unit was above ground so I had to use mobile stairs to move in and out. This proved challenging and dangerous as we stored electrical and construction equipment. From the top of the stair/ladder/grate I dropped an entire Home Depot bucket of loose tools to the ground. Luckily none of it landed on me or anyone else and nothing was broken. Please distribute units according to weight of what’s being stored.

I'm truly grateful I found this place!

The only thing I can say I really can give a positive opinion about is the location of my assigned unit !! First one just inside the double doors would have been very convenient! The only other very concerning issue was / is the obvious , very recent water stains that are evident from a water leak that has run down the support pole holding up the roof, which shows that it encroached into the unit we just rented? As well as the water staining in our unit on our walls, & floor!! So I did not move into this unit yet!

To have someone step up in a ladder to put items in or take them out is dangerous. I was very surprised, discouraged and saddened that a woman or men for that much will have to climb up on a ladder to retrieve their belongings. What happened if you are inside, someone takes the ladder, how are they supposed to get down. You all ( if you haven’t) eventually have a law suit file against you for negligence if someone falls. That was a deal breaker for me. Other than that. Everything was great. Your website needs to describe in detail that the storage is on top of another one and you have to climb a ladder with steps to enter or exit.

Most vital items (among others) were my retirement portfolio (Gold Coins and watches - over $100,000) I am still waiting to hear from UHALL in Lemon Grove since October 2022. I hope to receive some support from UHALL as soon as possible.

First time I went to customer service they helped me check in, and showed me on a map where my unit was. Walked around the whole placed still confused about where my unit was, and when I found it, it was locked! I went back and water in line again in customer service explaining I couldn’t get into it. They sent the trainee to unlock my locker, and there was not a lock ready for me to apply. After going back to customer service a 3rd time explaining I rented online they gave me a lock, and sent me on my way.

There was no lighting inside the inside the unit, and next door, labelled mechanical room was racks of servers, and a multitude of monitors. This dealership, just to make clear, had become a target of frequent smash and grab runs, some involving equipment. One day, there were three intelligence analysts in the mechanical room studying their footage of the theft of a truck off the lot. Literally, a veritable hub of Intel for the border just south via the rail line. 10/10 I would trust my stuff to them yet again. Bang on staff, management that will surprise you with the best deal even you least expect it, and really understanding.. Do not go to the National City location. They are like visiting OCS on pick up day.

Ceasar S | Overall ExperienceWe had an unfortunate reservation mix up that cost us to lose much needed time & money. I had made the reservation online for a 4x7x8 size unit weeks prior. Our son wanted to move some items in prior to our arrival/original move in date of May 22. I was able to change it to May 20 but unfortunately our son ended up not being able to borrow a truck so he did not go, which ended up being a “no show” resulting in canceling the entire reservation. I was not made aware of this cancellation policy so was very surprised to show up on the 22nd, no reservation to be found & discovering that this particular size was no longer available—only a larger, more expensive 8x10 was. We were in a ‘must have’ situation since we were only there to help our son for the day & the Uhaul truck we had rented at this same location was waiting. I feel a simple phone call or email to notify me of this change/no-show/cancel policy would have alleviated a lot of stress.

She acknowledged my concerns and apologized, which is everything to a customer, and she followed up to ensure resolution was reached. In doing so, she'll have a repeat customer and referrals from me.

On Sunday the 8/2/20 I had a different experience I did not receive the care like on Friday, I was not pleased with how the day turned out due to not having all information. On 8/4/20 my storage had a flood and Levi again went above and beyond helping me get my unit in order, Daniel the manager went above and beyond as well. I’m happy they helped me.

You kept incorrectly billing me and I would call to fix it. Thinking it was resolved I then would receive emails saying I still owed. This happened multiple times. I then went in person and they would look up my account and say everything was fine. I then would receive another email so back in person I went- 4 different times. I spent so much time on the phone and going into the facility to resolve your mistakes. Then you sent my emergency contact a bill-this was my father and it got him very upset thinking I wasn't paying my bills. My dad had a heart attack and stroke a year ago and upsetting him was extremely upsetting to me. Final straw, I moved out and went to the office to inform you all that I was moving. I was assured I was moving out on time and would not be billed. I was billed and told I was late and there would be a lean on my property which is a joke since I emptied out the storage unit. You guys have your heads up you know where. Never doing business with uhaul again.
