Alani is a superstar of a manager and helped me tremendously with my issue. The U-Haul I rented had a tire issue and with her help and diligence I was made whole after the problem was resolved. I appreciate her hard work and effort and would absolutely rent again for future moves.
CEDRIC HNo RAMPS! How are you in the moving business and dont think to add ramps to your facility!!?! Staff is trash, seldom, and rarely at desk when needed. The intercom/doorbell doesn’t work or so the employee claimed. A staff member might be there but there’s no body home. The poor costumer service is why I took all my stuff out of storage and closed my account. Terrible, terrible, terrible place. So bad, that when I was waiting for so long as others came to book a truck, I told them how much this place sucks and they’re better off going to the uhaul up the street.

I truly have no complaints with him. However, he was new on the job and under-trained. He did not know how ro answer basic questions about the size of units, nor could his manager when he phoned her. I rented a 4'x10'x10' unit, assuming that these referred to the length, width, and height of the locker. When I arrived, the unit was 6' tall. The deceptive advertising of a 10' tall unit meant I had to rent a different unit at a greater cost. It was simply impossible to fit all of our belongings in the smaller-than-advertised unit. Nowhere on the U-Haul website is it made clear that a "10' tall" unit could be as short as 6'. I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of clarity regarding the size of units, and I will not be renting storage here again.

Both of them were very professional personable and their customer service is top-notch. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone and I will use this location in the future. They made the process so quick and easy, this was very convenient for me. I really appreciate the great customer service they gave.
LEANDRA BThe desk/billing lady was rude and cold. Gave us a blocked out van keys THREE times before finally giving us a van that we could actually pull out from the parking. It was freezing cold and there ice everywhere- very difficult to get to any of the 4 vans plus we wasted like 30mins trying to get one that wasn't blocked off. She also didnt see the furniture dolly i had added in my order and was going to itemize the wrong equipment before I had to point it out The van we did get was also dirty with left over food on both sides. Return official was very nice and polite. Return was a lot smoother
Prerana GI had gone to the wrong location to pick up the truck and the lady canceled it at the other location and let me have the 15 ft truck from there. Everyone with drop off and pick up were very friendly and great!

ELI RI rented a room and was getting free lock as promised. Now I go there and they say my room is "having issues" and they changed it to one for same price EXCEPT I'M being charged a $22 payment on the day I move in... That is ridiculous....

JOHN BLocation isn’t marked for easy finding. The process seemed unprofessional. The truck was dirty ie: windows were really dirty and the floor mats had sticky crap all over them. The trucks could use some attention. When returning the door was locked as the sign said they were open. Probably won’t rent from this location again.
PHILIP MI will never use or recommend u-haul again. Nothing but unsolved problems from the start From Flofida to Massachusetts. Terrible.

CHARLES M1. pick up took well over an hour 2. The side view mirror on the right side of the truck automatically moved with driving (extremely unsafe rendering no view for the passenger side while driving) 3. Even though I reached 45 mins before closing, the store was locked with no prior information. 4. There was only one parking spot to park the truck while returning and it was extremely tight. I had to call a friend to assist me otherwise it was just not possible to park with the space given the broken side view mirror.

LAURYN DI was charged $80 for fuel service, even though I filled the gas to the same level it was at when I picked up the truck. I have been doing business with U-Haul for years, and this is the first time I feel betrayed.

TOD MVery difficult to load and unload during busy times due to the lack of loading docks (only 2) and the fact that there’s only one main freight elevator that travels to the upper levels. Trying to use that elevator in conjunction with other customers was tedious at best. With that being said, the staff was very friendly and was attentive to my needs. Thank you!

DEEK CI have an issue in how I was charged, I NEVER do 100 miles yet I am always charged the "day" rate for 100,--I argue it, and then I am told it's the best rate... and then I am always promised that it will be adjusted, and for the 2nd year in a row it has not, I only drove 81 (80.6) so if I calculate correctly I should have been charged ( all fees and insurance) should have been 152.67 but yet I was charged 166.68. To you that might not be much of a difference but it is a bit aggravating and when it was rented he was very helpful and told me it would be adjusted, but when I dropped off the key, she did not want to get away from her phone, and I asked about it being adjusted, and she just told me I would get an email. Very disappointing. 1.39 x 81 miles 112.59, environment fee 1.00, rental tax 90.68 sales surcharge 2.00 safe move 25 figure it out should be 152.67 NOT 166.68

PIEE EThis location is very cramped and busy for driving large trucks in and out and they didn't have the dollies I reserved. The truck back hadn't been swept out and was dirty, plus the check engine light was on. I made my reservation a month in advance for an entirely different location 25 minutes away, but that location had no trucks (apparently the word "reservation" has no meaning) and they sent me an automated text message and email 30 minutes before I was supposed to pick up my truck to tell me to go to this location in Malden instead, which put my entire move schedule behind by an hour. Terrible organization and service.
CASSANRA LGentleman at the return counter is the opposite of helpful and actively tried to not assist in any manner. When I picked up the truck, the moving blankets weren’t in there and when I asked to adjust the bill he said that was a manager issue and he couldn’t do it. Will recommend people to go to other UHaul places first or other companies before using the Malden location.

My only problem is that there are no ramps at this facility which means trying to fit everything through the two stair entrances or trying to balance things over my head at the loading docks. They can fix the loading area to be more accessible for their vans and rental trucks then this place would easily be a 5 out of 5 stars

Lola N | Overall ExperienceMy one concern was in relation to a return on Sunday evening. I attempted calling the location at 430pm and no one answered. I was forwarded to customer service after a 3 minute wait on the phone. When I explained to the representative that I was less than 5 minutes away and was just hoping to make the deadline, the representative told me in Sunday when they're ready to go there's, "morning that can be done." I'm every other service industry, this is not the man's in which a business would comport themselves with the goal being retention and recommendation. Upon my arrival at 454pm, the on site employee was walking around the property with his headphones in, which would amount for his inability to not only answer the phone, but hear the phone ring. I think outside of everything else, this was a largely unprofessional way to go about business. Having the customer service representative over the phone priced to take 5 minutes to explain to me why I was wrong and the U-Haul model was right was irritating as well. If this is U-Haul's general business practice, that's immensely disappointing

liang lI went there and the room I reserved was not available. I was given a room in the basement which I agreed to cause I was hurrying. When I tried to get my stuff back, the elevator was not moving, which made the process horrible. There is only 1 elevator that says that riders are not allowed, a very dangerous and outdated elevator. The experience was bad. I don't think I'd be using Uhaul storage again. An employee came and helped with the elevator but I had to use the narrow stairs to get upstairs many times. Bad experience overall, plus the basement had a smell that my clothes have gotten.

Additionally, sometimes staff were multitasking with personal phone calls/texts, which felt frustrating as well. Other than my card though, the facility was amazing and I would still recommend it!

jean rAs I moved out, I found broken glass, a dirty sock, an empty alcohol bottle and a used Covid mask, among other things, in my unit. None of the items belonged to me. The customer service is horrid. Being ignored by staff, and when they finally acknowledged me, they’re were on personal phone calls and doing the bare minimum and talking to others the whole time while trying to ‘help’ me. Most of my questions were met with a responsive of, “That’s not my job”. Restrooms were broken. Honestly, I am not a complainer, but this is the worst storage facility I’ve ever seen in my life, it’s filthy and I’ll never be back.

jean c | First ImpressionsA complete disaster trying to get the U-Haul for my move. I first reserved a truck online well in advance from a location close to where I was moving to. Not long after I completed this order, I got a call from U-Haul saying they couldn't let me rent a truck from that location despite it being available online, so they moved my order to a place 5 miles away. I arrived there when I was supposed to pick up the truck, but it wasn't until later I realized I had to do it online since the place was closed. Then when I got the whole process done, I couldn't leave the facility in the truck because the street was too narrow. A police officer who happened to be driving by at the time tried to help me, but there was no way to get onto the street. Then I had to go to the Malden location for the uhaul and that ended up being fine, just a long and disastrous process that led to me being billed way more than I should have because it was that is where I added more of my miles

Eugene LFacility is disgusting and there were roaches on the floor. Dollies were not big enough to hold any stuff. The walls of my unit were layers of patched particleboard nailed together. Unit did not have a ceiling and was covered in chicken wire. My reservation was cancelled without my consent, and when I finally got there after calling customer service a billion times, the unit I had booked was not even empty and we had to get a smaller one, which does not hold everything we need. Would not recommend this place in a million years.

SALEH HI didn't get her name, but a truly fabulous employee helped me move into my unit, 1625. I knocked on an exit only door and she opened it for me anyway to explain where I can find maps for the storage facility, carts to push my objects, how to use the cargo lift, and so forth. She was short with long dark hair - hopefully that will help isolate who this wonderful person was! She had so much patience for my boyfriend and I and was very kind. We might've been lost in that facility without her!

The manager, Nicole, was very friendly and helpful, and the communication/coordination aspect was great. On the policy front, I would recommend a better solution for allowing access to the unit when the customer cannot be there to open it (for instance, a form where they can grant permission to U-Haul to break their lock). Under the current policy I had to hire a locksmith to allow access into my unit.

Lisa P | First ImpressionsConvenient place for storage but I had some issues: 1) my storage unit was on the top floor and had no roof over the unit itself so parts of the building's roof fell all over my things, 2) there isn't enough customer parking so I often had to park in the wrong spots and staff would yell at me to move my car but never suggested where. Otherwise, staff was friendly when I signed and canceled my lease and the units with roofs seemed fine.

On hold over52 minutes... no cell reception sales areas to puck up equipment. Great for cities but not rural spots. Maine president called me back immediately and solved those issues. But having issues trying to get in touch for another reason now. Ugh!! I shouldn't have to bug the man again for this!

LUIS C | First ImpressionsThe Uhaul staff at Malden were excellent, problem-solving, and helpful. However, the Uhaul system they are working with is broken. When I showed up after a long day of moving out of my apartment (with a Uhaul truck, with moving help hired through Uhaul) having reserved a storage area online many weeks earlier, the unit was not available. While the staff ultimately found a solution (giving me 3 smaller units and a discount), this led to stress, hours of extra time, and hours of expense on my part paying the moving help contractor. If a unit is not available, the system should not offer it. This is 2021. Thanks again to the staff, and I hope management gives them a better service to work with.

The elevator was out of service 2 out of 5 times I went there, and unfortunately it was when I needed to move heavy items. There is no parking lot for customers cars. You either need to park in the bank across the street or on the sideline and if you have to carry boxes then keep in mind you will have to do several trips back and forth. Apart from these 2 things, everything else is excellent. Nicole is very helpful. There are units for every need. Everything is clean and well maintained. Will definitely recommend it

Amilcar set up our nonprofit with a storage unit for our clothing drive fundraiser and when that one was filled, he gave us another, in exchange for a truck rental. He even coordinated with Luis Cardona, Jr., General Manager, of 420 Eastern Ave., Malden, so that we could have storage units until we deliver the clothing to Savers on August 29. Devine is a member of Amilcar's staff and has also been exceptional. He carried bags from the loading dock to the basement when the elevator was out of order. It was a heavy job on a hot day. It is clear that the staff are well-treated. When staff are respected by their manager, they work efficiently and have a great attitude.
