My reservation took way to long at the counter. The associate explained it was due to a lag in the U-Haul system... I was given equipment with expired plates, and when I asked who would be responsible for the ticket if I got pulled over I could not get a straight answer, all I got was "You should be fine" The person who attached the trailer wiring left it hanging too low, the wiring was rubbing on the ground and broke. I had to buy a new one during my trip.
MICHAEL GU-Haul was very helpful when I was struggling to pay. They always gave me a chance. I’m forever grateful for the U-Haul company not putting my stuff for auction but actually giving customers a chance thank you U-Haul you are the best.

They were clearly in a hurry to get back inside and continue chit chatting, which is how I found them when I first showed up. I felt like an inconvenience from the start, which isn’t right when I’m dropping $377 for a trailer rental. The tires were also old and dry-rotted. One was low on pressure when I left. I topped it off at each stop on my journey but the leak got worse and it eventually went totally flat, interrupting my trip by 1.5 hours while I waited for roadside assistance to come and replace. I am lucky it did not blow out on the highway. Why not just include a spare tire on the trailers?

She was on a personal phone call on speaker and I clearly interrupted her. Dolly was not on van and I was charged a $120 fee that I am currently disputing even though the pictures taken before I left the lot clearly show no equipment on the truck.

Aaron JWhen I arrived at the location, the staff was not welcoming at all. The person who executed the contract was not friendly. The facility/office was clean. I was handed a key and told generally where the truck was, so it might be nice to have someone walk you out and orient you with the truck. Upon return, the two individuals were watching a TV/streaming program and it again felt as if I was interrupting them.
JOHN BIf you give someone two days to retrieve their shit then they should get the two days. You don’t alllow employees to shop they customers personal belongings and a reasonable amount of time has no t passed. Why would you say that I stole the truck and I clearly rented it. I was supposed to move into 3 different units and lwas tricked each time by landlords Now I stand with all my personal belongings given away to uhaul employees. Nothing in there would pass as garbage. A reasonable amount time had not passed. They disposed of my things in less than 2 days. So many memories and valuables given to uhaul employees. I am homeless with nothing!

The truck was clean and ran well, but the transmission needs some work. It tended to stay in 1st gear too long. Also, the driver door had to be pushed closed pretty hard to latch. The checkout process was quick, although it was odd to pay for mileage used prior to actually driving the truck. The price was reasonable given that the project involved driving a mile to Costco, loading a couch, driving another 2 miles to my house, dropping it off, and then driving the 3 miles back. Overall, a decent experience with an old truck, although the staff could have been far nicer

GEORGE MI have been using this location almost every week for the past couple of years. Yesterday I was charged $15 for fuel charge since I "didn't returned" with the same gas level. I used for 20 miles, and put 2 gallons before I returned. I'll pay more attention to the gas nidle next time so I don't get screwed up again
JOSE GMake sure the new safety chains that they installed on the trailers are universal that fit on all vehicles. We have a Honda Ridgeline 2023 and the safety chain hooks that they installed would not fit because they were too close. had to get a different trailer overall was a great experience.

Locally they gave a couple a lock which was used for my reserved unit. It took an hour to get it straightened out. Cost me 200. Lisa F | Overall ExperienceI live in PA and rented an outside parking space at U-Haul in Melrose Park, IL to store my car while I rented a different vehicle for a work contract in the upper midwest for the winter. I've always had a great experience with the U-Haul facilities I've done business with and this location absolutely upheld those standards. I was very nervous to leave my car in one of the most populated areas in the country for a few months, but Christina eased my worry by pointing out the good lighting and the security cameras when she showed me where to park. I picked up my car on a Sunday during business hours and everyone was helpful with my questions and my car was exactly as I had left it. I don't know if the inside storage units operate the same but note that there is not a prorated rate offered, only a monthly rate - this information is in the contract so I knew ahead of time and planned accordingly. Very happy with this facility!

The staff seemed to be accustomed to these break downs as if they were usual fare. The whole place is clean inside. Outside, the parking surfaces are uneven and bumpy. The computer systems seemed to be regularly down when we were dealing with the front staff.

We told them we werecgoing to drop off after hours. They Never went through the process of having to go on line and check it in or there would be an additional $20 fee. In addition opening our locker same day as rented kept setting off the alarm. We were told the system needs a day to process us.
