Had a reservation for 10am arrived at 9:51am. Lady working the desk did not acknowledge us until 10:12am and after doing so continued to answer the phone and take reservations while we stood there waiting. After about 20 minutes of this we finally got acknowledged and went through the counter process. We were handed keys and simply told to use the Uhaul app to confirm truck condition prior to leaving. We did this. Truck had multiple damages in front end and sides. We assumed Uhaul inspected this truck and that it was road worthy and left to location around 11 am. After about 3 minutes of driving and being on the highway/interstate with nowhere to safely pull over or turn around we quickly realized the brakes were almost non existent. Steering was very delayed suggesting worn out pitman arm or other steering components. Alignment was way off. Steering wheel was pointed at 3 o’clock. front end of truck went wherever it wanting for the most part. By a miracle we made it to the next Uhaul location to pick up an auto transport trailer and called roadside assistance. My wife politely explained the situation to the roadside agent and she told my wife we had to drive it back to the pickup location. My wife insisted it was not safe to drive and after doing so the agent got very rude with my wife and hung up on her. This whole fiasco ended with us leaving the truck at the second location and having to drive 50 minutes north to pick up another truck that had no air conditioning and drive back to the second location to get the auto transport trailer and then all the way home 1 hr away to begin loading. Nobody at Uhaul has bothered to try to make the situation right in anyway shape or form. Very upset and will not use a uhaul truck ever again.

MARTIN WWhen I picked up the vehicle no walk around was done and I was sent on my way as fast as possible as the man seemed to not want to deal with me and was very rude. Then upon returning the vehicle which I could not take pictures of or even really review before leaving because it was far out in the lot, I was told there was a scratch that I could not see but was just told it was there so I would be charged and extra $150 to cover damages. Honestly won’t ever be using U-Haul again if I can help it.

When handed me receipt it had only $110.00 charge to my the next day, it was extra $46. Dollars charge to me, and I ask him at the counter what is my and said only $110 dollars and gave me my receipt and said that it...I call back and the manager said it was an hour late, and I told her,..we told him twice 1:30 pm or 2 pm . He said Okay that's fine...So the manager said she would refund the fee back.$46.00. So I am still waiting for it to be refund back into my account.......!
MARNETTE S4/12/25 U-Haul, picking up the reserved pickup truck was more difficult than it should have been. Even having needed documents, I was pressured into buying your insurance as though I had no choice even after repeating at least 4 times that my insurance covers me regardless of what I'm driving, including "Commercial" vehicles. The $20 a day truck rental ended up costing 3 times that and for only a short distance. If I had known that I would have made other arrangements. Links to my older phone didn't work properly. No, I don't need another app on my phone. The pickup ran fine and served the purpose for which it was rented. I was dreading the return process being as long and adversarial as earlier but the young man that did the check in was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable, kind, patient, helpful, and did his job most admirably making things so easy and pleasant. He even showed me how to get the links to work. As far as I'm concerned, I am owed a refund of $15 for the unnecessary insurance, and the gentleman that checked me in needs a raise and promotion.

STEVEN BThey rushed us on the loading process. Called us at 3:00p telling us we had to be finished by 4:30p. The boxes were not the best quality. When we moved in 2024 we had the nicer metal/plastic containers and all our belongings fit perfectly fine. These wooden boxes were not as large and our couch didn't fit very well.

WADE HI was told by customer service that a member of Uhaul would assist me in loading my vehicle on the Auto Transport. I didn't receive any assistance until I started to head for the door and a guy came out to help secure the rear of the vehicle with the AT Chain. I was wore out due to my disability and felt as if I was going to collapse pulling the ramps, moving the straps out of the way, pulling my vehicle onto the AT, try to climb off the AT, and then securing the straps, and stowing the ramps. Please let your future disabled persons know that they will receive little to no help in securing their vehicle on the AT.

JANICE RI feel it's unfair to have mileage count against you when the only truck rental available is 14 miles from home. So 28 miles from my 68 Miles total was just to obtain/return your equipment. I will look into other options next time I need a truck. Over $100 to use your truck from 4p-8a. Not even 24 hrs. What a rip off smh
K JThis particular location I have rented equipment from many times. They have never given me a trailer or any equipment that I have had issues with. They took the time to check the trailer in and listened to my concerns and then check the trailer for those concerns while it was still hooked to my truck. They took the trailer out of commission when they saw the seriousness of the issues that I was bringing to their attention. This trailer should never have left Dallas Texas in this condition. I feel that Dallas/Plano Texas just wanted to get rid of this piece of equipment and have somebody else to deal with it.

MARY KTerrible experience. I've been using Uhaul for 40+ years and have never been treated so poorly. My $19.95 pick up truck, for ONE hour, ended up costing me $60. I will be filing a Better Business Bureau Claim.
SHARON HThis location has a rule stating all renters have to buy Uhaul insurance if they do not have commercial vehicle insurance(with commercial vehical stated on insurance card). Of course very few people have "commercial vehicle" insurance and those who do probably don't need to rent from Uhaul. Despite having insurance that would cover my rental, I was forced to purchase Uhaul Insurance. This is a trap and a junk fee. I will advise other consumers in need of rentals not to use this Uhaul location.

I had to fog my stuff 2 times inside the truck in an attempt to hope I haven't transported any into my new place. They need to do a better and professional job of exterminating. When I told them about the roaches, they sent the cleaning lady with Ortho Home Defense (Home Depot) to spray the perimeter.

And while we appreciate the level of security, it has become cumbersome on regular operation as a tenant there between swiping into bathrooms and the sliding door only opening from the inside. Frustrating, despite the added security.

In order to receive 1month free storage it has to be a 1 way move. So your truck has to be reserved at a different location than your drop off. Which mine was but someone changed my drop off to same location. Make sure to check your records, constantly online.

It was very tiring & frustrating for the total process to check-in was at least 1/2 an hour. Especially since I moved & drove close to 200 miles to get to Tulsa. My experiences with U-Haul in Springfield Missouri 3500 S Campbell were Excellent from start to finish. This location was very slow check-ins, poor customer service with just one girl on the counter to help customers. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I barely met the 7 pm closing deadline to check-in the truck & tow dolly & unload into my storage unit. I must say the female at the desk was friendly & very helpful. It was obvious that this U-Haul store is poorly staffed especially when I faced the 7pm closing deadline to return the truck that day. I did not want to have to come back the next morning to get my car & turn the truck & tow dolly in.

I had such a horrible and confusing Ubox rental, where Uhaul in Arlington, Texas left one of our boxes back in Texas. But Tanya and her staff have been great and I would recommend Uhaul because of them. Also, the customer service agent that handled our Ubox issue over the phone was great as well, as she got our box to us as soon as it could be delivered! Great customer service out weighed errors that occured on Uhaul's end.

Locks: they guy at the counter ask me multiple time to make sure the locks ( that i got free while renting)is at the unit with key as they are for renting purpose only 2. Moved out: After move out of my stuff, I left the access card of storage on 7/26/2023 to the lady at counter and she told me she will move me out the same day after she check the unit. But she did not. I have to make call the next day where i was not able to connect to storage facility person and again the another day I need call where i waited for longs time on phone and finally able to check out properly.
SUDIP R | Overall ExperienceI only had one issue with the storage and that's if you take your belongings out early or before your month is through they do not prorate and give your money back or at least some of it. They said it was in the contract of which I had no prior knowledge of it being in there that you don't get part of your money back but I have rented from U-Haul before and the policy was that you do get a portion of your money back prorated if you take your belongings out early. Other than that the staff was always courteous and polite. Thanks

TIMARIAN C | First ImpressionsI arrived in person to rent a unit but was told they couldn’t rent them directly, that all transactions had to take place online. The process was inconvenient and did not let me select a specific unit out of those available. Then the next day the key card would not work. After visiting the office we found out that we have to swipe at two separate key pads (at different doors) just to enter the storage area. According to the staff, the first swipe is to check in and the second swipe at a different pad 50 ft away is to open the door. The door will not open if you don’t swipe to check in first. Completely inconvenient, with no signage or anything else that explains this.

I paid on time but came and a extra lock was put on my storage and had to have the front to come and take it off. The hours on the doors close too early and there is NOT enough crates available after hours they leave a majority of them in the garage which closes early.

David J | First ImpressionsMy experience with the UHaul location at 3500 s Sheridan has been horrible. After my hour wait, it was my turn. I went in hopeful that my experience would be smooth. After all, I only needed to return my trailer and get access to my storage unit I had reserved about a month ago. I showed up 30 minutes before my movers were to arrive so I was already 30 minutes into them sitting around doing nothing. When he rudely asked what I needed, I explained that I needed to drop off my auto transport and get access to my storage unit, I also informed him that I had my reservation numbers for both items. He asked what size unit I needed and I explained that I had a reservation for a 10x15. He then rudely shoved a piece of paper with a bunch of scribbles on in it to my face and said "I don't have any units in that size available. see, look here". I tried to explain that I had a reservation and asked if he could look into it while he rudely yelled "NEXT". I reminded him that I still would like my trailer returned. He then asked me for the trailer number for my AT. I told him that I didn't have that in front of me but maybe I could pull it up on my phone. He tried pulling it up on his computer under my name but couldn't find it. At first he tried telling me I must of had the wrong location but I showed him my phone listing his location but for Monday. I know I was early but I needed to just get it out of the way to unload the truck. He then asked his helper I guess? The guy didn't interact with customers directly. He went out and got a number but for the wrong trailer because apparently I have an RT? I never understood the difference. William ended up going out after trying to send his helper 3 different times. He came back in and said it was all checked in. I asked him if he could print me some proof because it still showed it was still under my reservation. He tried pulling it up on the computer again but couldn't. he ended up being able to print out a form that didn't show anything with my name on it and it even showed him as a customer. I will attach it here. He also mentioned that I would get an email. I then asked again about a storage unit because I had all my movers there and needed to offload my truck. He mentioned he had one in the system but the GM had it either reserved or it wasn't cleaned yet. William mumbled when he told me. I said I didn't care, I needed a unit. He then took my insurance money and assigned me unit 1396. I backed my truck up to the storage area and slide the ramp open. I quickly told my movers to hold on until I get eyes on my unit. I'm glad I did because there was a padlock on my supposed unit. So I left the truck parked there, told them to wait and walked all the way around the building to the office. When I walked in, I stood off to the side of the line towards the desk and explained that there was a lock on my unit and needed to know if that it could either be removed or a new unit assigned to me. He then looked around for some keys that he couldn't seem to find and after a few seconds of looking, he went back to helping the customer at his desk. I patiently waited since I was on hold with uhaul to discuss my trailer dropoff since I didnt feel confident he completed it correctly. After he finished with that customer, he just jumped to the next one. I know that I "jumped" the line but I was just in there and didn't want to wait another hour just to get what I originally came in for. After 30 more minutes and more people joining the line, I gave up on my uhaul call and started calling other storage places. I couldn't afford to pay my movers all day for them to stand and do nothing. Unfortunately I couldnt find anything nearby. I then got in the back of the line and waited. My wife then called her grandmother and asked if we could move her cars out of her garage and put our stuff there. She was very reluctant because her husband (grandpa) and sister (grandaunt) have a hard time getting to the car when it's in the driveway due to their disabilities. With no other options in sight though, we were going to make it work. After standing in line again for another 30 minutes while on hold with uhaul again, I finally get up to William and asked him for an update regarding my storage unit. He said if it was locked there was nothing he could do. I had to ask him for a refund like he didn't know that was an option.. He was again, very short and never apologized for the inconvenience. I attached photos of the paperwork William gave me. I also will attach photos of the equipment being returned. I left the office at 11:30 and told people our new plan. We had one mover have to leave due a previous engagement so I had to pay him for doing nothing. While driving to the grandmothers house, I finally had a uhaul representative get on the line and I asked about my trailer dropoff. on her end, it didn't look like he had returned it and that she would make a note of it... I have more but won't fit

In all fairness it never seemed to be above the 85 mark that it was promised to stay under but moving things around in a building that's 82 or 83 degrees is not a comfortable environment. The staff also seemed to be incompetent in the simplest task. The staff members I dealt with were either rude, unmotivated, complained about how much they didn't like their jobs or overshared information about their personal life with information that should have never been shared with a customer. Overall the facility seemed to well kept but I would not recommend this place to anyone I know because of the terrible customer service.

I talked to the manager, and he said that as long as I kept him informed, he would work with me. It wouldn't do any good to sell my things, they would just have to throw them away. I sent in my driver's license and waited for a form to be sent to me to sign to sign and send back. However, The form I received Was incorrect it was for the full amount. I kept messages messaging that I needed the corrected form but the manager would never reply. I can only presume my things have been trashed. I still don't have a job but I start one hopefully August 1st. I would have to have a hutch attached to my vehicle since I couldn't get two men and a truck to respond. I lost luggage, clothing and some momentos of my deceased mother. I only asked for help and patience till I could get back to Tulsa to get everything out of the unit. I was told I was already being helped, I'd be able to get everything out for $0.

Kerri F | First ImpressionsI am not blaming uhaul for the theft that occurred in my unit. However, I find it strange that the alarm system to the unit’s we’re mysteriously unarmed that night. Fron previous reviews this is the second time this has happened. Then I moved to an inside more secure unit. My access card never worked and then I find out that they changed the access hours to during office business hours only. It would have been nice too have been told instead of making several trips trying to get in. I would not recommend this location- they have poor customer service- I even observed the Mgr Chris Munoz tell a customer that his propane filler was down and sent her to another location. When she left he laughed and said it just too cold to go out and do it so I tell them it’s down.

Mike L | First ImpressionsSo I asked for a trailer and a storage unit. First off, the unfriendly guy [Lucas] gave me a unit that was already occupied. I had to go back to the front to get the issue resolved. Luckily the one next to it was free so he told me to use that one instead. He also failed horribly to mention that I needed to disarm my unit with the card before opening my unit door or else the alarm will blare very loudly for a few minutes before shutting off. This happened 3 times; thank goodness I'm not deaf....it just so happened that an older gentlemen saw our distress and told us how things worked. Lastly, I can't believe they only have one loading dock. I had to keep my uhaul for an extra day because every time I tried to move my stuff in, there was someone else taking up the space and carts. I finally backed up in front of the ramp that is intended for people and unloaded my stuff there because I wasn't about to risk hitting another truck or scrape off my front bumper on the ridiculous brick wall they have bordering the parking lot when trying to park in-between or next to a truck. If I would've known it was that difficult I would've went with my old storage place. Oh and to top it all off some random guy and my contract got mixed up so a uhaul store in Texas tried to charge me $244 for his truck, which luckily my bank declined....such a headache.

Nick H | Overall ExperienceThe only issue I had was lack of communication between the uhaul employees what I mean by that is that my debit card was used over the phone to one place but then I use my debit card at the store but it's only showing that my debit card was used once and it doesn't show that it was ever used again for another amount so it just basically looks like I didn't pay a and that's not the case but otherwise I mean they really try to help get the situation taken care of as much as possible you just have to have a lot of proof of what you've done and what you have so but otherwise pretty cool

I literally walked up and down the floors 4or 5 times going to wrong units- after being on the road for hours. I am alarmed the emergency call bottom had no response. How is that secure and safe environment if there is no response. I called because the alarm kept going off. The service has drastically declined and just very disappointed with the service.

I called because I needed to find a unit fast and a unit not to far from where I was moving from and get to work. My previous Storage was vandalized and just a mess but in less than a few minutes the young lady had a unit reserved a truck just in case and conformation numbers ready and we laughed . When I got to the actual midtown location I was greeted with a smile and response of urgency to meet my needs. Had the grand tour to my selected storage spot and a few chuckles along the way, I throughly understood what... how to operate and the young man was very kind. I left mid town feeling a sence of satisfaction and gratitude as I went to work feeling all the stress of the morning was defeated by the kindness that I received from these total strangers... However, after arriving to the storage location the agent who assisted with providing the rental space were persistent and misleading regarding purchasing a lock for the unit. He stated that I had to purchase a lock from them in order to use the unit. Also, my entrance card never worked to get into the building. The agent upon check out was polite and knowledgeable.
constance l | Overall ExperienceDoors should be locked at all times, that’s why I was given a code/card. Never used it once because doors where unlocked. I believe you need to review your process with sending letters to the emergency contacts. I missed a payment, received your email and immediately paid it. A week or so later, my emergency contact received a letter that I owed a balance. First off, it was never clearly explained that was your intention to use an emergency contact in that manner. Second, not even 24hrs late and you sent such a letter to them. You already have the authority to lock me out of my belongings, and ultimately can sell them for their value. Bottomline, this policy doesn’t work for me and I have moved out, and no longer will use ”any” of your services in the future and will share to others why when asked for recommendations.
