MARIA Pfirst guy was not very helpful. equipment had non working lights. to get different dolly was easy, but clerk was making it seem like on return it was gonna be a paperwork issue n was going to charge me. what?? u-haul error and charge me??

WALTER T | First ImpressionsThe main two reasons that I left is the cost continuing to increase over and over again and how obnoxiously loud the alarms are. I get the reason but 99% of the time it is someone forgetting to check in before going to their unit. It is deafening and when I would spend time at my unit getting items or moving stuff around, I had the alarm go off 4 different times in a 45 minute span. It was terrible for my tinnitus. Only good part is the 24 hour access as my new storage location doesn't have that.

Mary R | Overall ExperienceHad to wait 10 minutes to be helped. I had a reservation but the truck was not ready. When I returned the truck I had replaced the gas that I had used. But when I got my final bill it said that the truck needed 2 gallons of gas. That is not true. I called customer support and the called the store to take a picture of the fuel gage to prove that it needed more gas but instead it proved that I did bring back the truck with the correct amount of gas. I had to spend 28 minutes on the phone over a charge I should have never had to pay. It's just $10 but I'm sure it adds up if you do this to all your customers. So what you can improve is to just be honest and charge the amount that should be charged.
DAVID M1. No invoice was provided that shows all of the expenses. Instead, expenses were divided into 3 or 4 different invoices. 2. I had the feeling that I was not talking to one company, but several who did not always know what the others were doing. Overall, the personnel were courteous and knowledgeable except that each one didn't seem to know what I had already said or info I provided to another office in the U-Haul chain. Three or four different times I had to provide the phone contact of where the box was to be delivered --they always called me who was the originator, even though several times I had already given the contact info of the receiver in another state. Overall, the experience was good, and I would use U-Haul again, even though each office that contacted me did not seem to have the info I provided to other offices.

CARL HSO YOU KNOW - I NEVER SET FOOR ON this location property, but the review won't submit if you dont answer the questions - - For whatever reason, this location was unaware that I was directed to drop he trailer off at another location and when they called, I informed them that I had dropped off the trailer at the address on the contract I received, which was not the address U-Haul apparently thought I SHOULD be dropping it off at, so I called the location and gave them the information for where I left the trailer last week, then they guy began telling me that it was important that we clear this up and I should call the manager or wait for a call from his manager - - - I gave them the date I picked up, dropped off, the name & location of the place I returned the trailer and asked that they figure it out so that there'd be no need to have a conversation with his manager. Will also note that the location I dropped off (address provided to me by UHaul on confirmation email, by the way) also had no record and ended up calling me later that day asking me about someone I had never heard of, asking me if I knew of that person....wth?. I'm sure the facilities involved in this transaction are fine establishments - and apart from the guy who wasn't quite able to grasp that this missing-trailer issue wasn't really my problem, it seems the issue in question has more to do with U-Haul systems not being sufficiently helpful so that the folks using them don't need the Customer to participate in search and rescue efforts for what seems to be simple logistical issues with rental equipment.
JERRY LTell us what to bring when pickingf up the truck. Need to help us find the truck we rented and explain how to operate some of the controls'wipers' lights etc. One empoyee that first tried to check us in was very rude, we didn't recall the address to where we are moving, sent my wife home to get it. The empoyee need to him started talking t o me and found out we bought a resort in Minnesota. He looked it up and found the address. Now I call this customer service.
TERRY Bwhoever picked up the phone and answered my call on the first day was absolutely terrible. Aside from the location itself, i never called them directly again. The text to help service is incredible, makes it so even a bad location can be bypassed by simply using the text service to resolve anything. The drivers were also incredible, both pick up and drop off.

MILTON CU-Haul computers were down nationwide which I understood, it happens. I had a 7:30 reservation for a cargo van and specified I needed the dodge ram for the extra space. Around 8:30 I was told they were back. Once back I believe the manager helped finalize my rental. After finding the van I realized I was given a ford and upon request to rent the van I asked for I was told by the manager that a cargo van is a cargo van and no you can’t change it. This bothered me because I was going roughly 300 miles that day and had done my part in reserving the vehicle the day before. I took off work to complete the move and was forced to start almost two hours later. All of which I understood and accepted. I feel his attitude was a bit uncalled for as accepting I was being to a problem on u-haul’s part. And to top it all off the van was only at 7/16 tank which again I realize that’s where it was returned at but it was still an inconvenience.

BRIAN ETruck I rented was not clean, had tons of rivets and nails all over the back when I picked, and drove like a loaf a bread. There was about and inch and a half of play in the steering box, really hope it does get rented to an inexperienced driver. When I dropped off the truck I asked the staff member if he wanted to inspect the vehicle, he said “nope, just the keys” as he leaned back in his chair. Customer service lacks, and the truck is only as good as the people at the location. So rent wisely if you are going on more than a few miles like myself.

DENISE BI reserved a truck online for lockbox pickup, however when I got there at 5:00p. It directed me to pickup my key inside the store. However the guy was outside in the lot helping another customer and I waited 1 hour! I asked them to adjust my time for the 1 hour, and they said it was not possible because I booked online! They told me to call Uhaul customer service, and I waited on hold for 2 hours for they person to tell me they was not able to adjust it, I needed to speak with another customer service agent. So I was transferred and waited another hour and then gave up! This is the worst place to rent from!!!
Sabrina EI return the truck back with the gas almost full, I took it out just under full, why was I charged for gas, also the attended told me and another customer just to leave the keys and wait for a email, I was not present when he checked milage and gas, I was charged 120.00. I'm not happy feeling wronged.

In the last few days I was in your facility numerous times to buy supplies and rent a van to move and then rent a storage unit. I was waited on by multiple people. Every time the attitude was as if they were being bothered to help customers. The most disturbing experience was yesterday (Saturday, June 3rd) around 11AM. There was a line of 4 people waiting in line inside at the counter. There was a younger gentleman with spiky messy hair waiting on us. He was wearing his sunglasses indoors and mid transaction of the person in front of me he said, “I’ll be back, im going to the restroom. He slowly walked away to the restroom and didn't come back for over 5 mins. The other customers and i were left there wondering what was going on. When he finally returned, he seemed a little out of it. I cant be sure, but im fairly confident he was doing some type of drug in the restroom.

First they put a $ as my street address… then not communicating with me on what would happen by this X date if I couldn’t make a payment or fix my situation so I lost everything I know my social security # was in my unit & they’re saying it belongs to whomever the auction buyer was like that’s PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION in which I have to lock now due to this incident. Should communicate a lot more during signing up.

It was like COVID didn't exist to those people who were by the way some of the most unsanitary individuals I have had to interact with.

Although we made a few late payments, as food and utilities came first, payments were always made. A female made several calls to press us for a payment not made by the due date. She was disrespectful on the phone. Chris was somewhat helpful regarding late payments and penalties, we were still charged a “lean” charge. Every month was paid in full. As mortgage companies and landlords were required by the government to stop penalties for late payments and evictions haulted, U-haul should have taken notes out of that book.

Christopher R | First ImpressionsI have a couple of issues. I thought the online process was was smooth and easy until the alarm on my unit went off every time I opened it. I asked some employees about it and they told me the access code I was given via email doesn’t do anything I needed an access card, to which they gave me. Now that I had my access card ( which wasn’t mentioned as part of the online purchase process) I assumed my alarm issues would be solved. Wrong again. The alarm still goes off every time I open my unit. Then I come to find out that my unit has a wiring problem and is crossed up with another unit. So when I check into my unit I am deactivating the alarm for another unit, and some other unit deactivates my alarm. This is very annoying and discomforting. It defeats the purpose of the alarm in the first place. I was also informed that the issue “should be resolved in a few months”. If I hadn’t already filled most of the unit I probably would have canceled due to this issue. On a side note, the employees were very helpful and friendly.
