Amy MThe review is for the pickup location. They had nothing to do with the # of containers or the shipping, just the local delivery. While everyone was VERY FRIENDLY, the delivery and pickup was a mess. I requested Friday delivery and while it appeared to be confirmed, UHaul changed it to Saturday due to scheduling without checking with me first. Saturday was inconvenient due to other issues and I could have scheduled for Monday (this was not a "we must have our stuff to live" situation). Pickup of the empty was slated for Sunday. The container arrived two hours early and I was not called to be notified of ETA before so I could meet them there. Fortunately I was 10 mins away and rushed over to get it in place (at a long-term storage facility). We unloaded and the truck had issues, so we gave them a 30 min heads up so they could immediately pick up the box, rather than come out on Easter Sunday. They got the truck working and left 10 mins before we were done with no warning or callback. So it was slated for Sunday as planned. The storage facility we used requested firmly we have it there less than 24 hours (as it was blocking other access). However, Sunday, we get a message that the truck is again having issues, so it will be TUESDAY before they pickup. On Monday I get a call asking if I'm done with the unit, I said yes and it needed to be picked up Monday. She said it would be Tuesday, but MAYBE Monday. Of course it was Tuesday (two days late) before they picked it up. And then the code I gave them for the gate was not passed to the driver, so she called concerned that she couldn't get into the facility. So very unfortunate that the beginning of the experience was so good and then the end was marred by lack of urgency and scheduling errors. Fortunately the storage facility was very patient, but will probably not allow other tenants to have Ubox deliver to their location directly.

DAVID PA U-Haul team member met me at the door both for pick-up and return and immediately attended to me and my rental. I am (unfortunately) used to having to wait and have a long process at U-Haul... doing the check-in on-line helped but this location seems to have better service than others I've used in my travels.

PHILLIP RThe North St team, CJ and Chris, were excellent! We had a reservation for a cargo van at the Hwy 78 office booked weeks in advance. When we went to there to pickup our rental they did not have a vehicle available for us. They did nothing to attempt to help us with other arrangements, just cancelled our reservation and showed us the door. We called the 494 North St location ourselves for help. CJ and Chris were able to pull together the truck we needed with almost no notice. They were fast, kind and efficient. Go to the 494 North St. Office if you need a rental.

MICHELLE CTruck wasn't clean. Lights on car dolly didn't work on one side. My wife followed me out of the parking lot so I know they weren't checked when it was hooked to truck. I would have taken it back but I was strapped for time and knew my wife would be following me the entire trip. Reported it when I dropped it off in Tampa.

Martalian H | Online Move InThere is no signage instructing customers where to park, only where to return equipment. Also, I reserved a auto transport trailer. It started snowing heavily before I got there. I hooked up and left and found the roads to be too dangerous. I returned immediately and was still charged for the equipment. They would not move my reservation to another day or offer a refund. It's 48 hours later and now I am renting it again because I have no other options. You can improve by offering a refund or a "rain check" if the equipment is quickly returned and road conditions support the customers claims.
Daniel UI did the 24 hour drop off and did not meet anyone but the lot was well organized and drop off was easy.
Richard SI went to pick up my truck at the first location and was told property manager was out sick and the next person available would be an hour before he/she would arrive. I told her that I could not wait an hour and that my reservation had been confirmed. She sent to another location and I was assured they had one available, so I drove to the next location and there was not another truck available in the size I needed so I had to get a larger truck for 3 small pieces of furniture. I finally had to rent a much larger truck and pay more for it and was an hour behind schedule. It was a very bad experience.

TIFFANY LRates and fees caused me to move to cube smart. I'll always have a storage unit and U-Haul lost over $100 a month with me and $100 a month with my daughter because your rules and staff are inflexible, and your rates are over the market rate. I would never recommend U-Haul as a first resort.

The young lady who checked me out was stuck to her chair and promised to bring my contract out but gave an excuse of not being able to find the truck. She said, " I tried to find you but I didn't see you." From that I had to discern that she did not know where her equipment was. I don't understand that.

Being right next to the woods with homeless people living there… and there would be sketchy people lingering outside the facility. Basically every time I left the facility I felt lucky nothing bad happened. The whole area should probably be gated off, like other storage facilities. If I had visited before reserving online, I wouldn’t have gotten the unit.

Checkout process was easy. Facility is in a high crime area but that is outside the purview of UHAUL and not their fault.

Sheeba J | First ImpressionsEvery time we have to deal with this location, it's a very slow process. We tried to do remote pick-up for our van, but it didn't work, so we had to talk to somebody. They gave us a van that was parked about 4 inches from the vans on either side of it and had to switch out which van we were renting. This meant that we ended up having to call corporate later when we were being charged for driving 95 miles when we had only driven 15. Side note, because I know this isn't an issue with this location: Literally every time we've had to deal with UHaul in the past few years, there have been extra charges we've had to call back and change. Every single time. It makes me feel like I can't trust the company and that there is a lack of consideration for the consequences of whatever actions are making this happen.

Reba B | First ImpressionsThe place was really nice and the people were nice most days. You could tell they were overwhelmed and short staffed. It's why I always gave them a little grace. The reason that this place is only getting two three stars is because they didn't do a great job at explaining how to get in when the bays were closed. It was very sweet cleaning lady who showed me how to actually get in and make the door work not just sign in. The other complaint I had was that I had set it up on auto pay multiple times and every time I turned around it was not pulling the money out even when the money was in there. The first time I let it go but after the third time I had enough and decided to leave. Lastly, I didn't appreciate being upselled on insurance when my renters insurance would have covered my stuff I even asked my insurance company if they would cover it, and they said yes but I was forced to get the extra insurance by the manager who said I couldn't store my stuff there if I didn't. All in all it wasn't too bad of an experience but some of those things need to change.

The facility was clean and appeared to be well maintained, except they were not able to creat a key card for us. We had to stand around in the parking lot with the homeless people waiting for someone inside to hopefully open the door for us. This was not a good situation. We finally got a key the next day.

I'd want to say average and also give it five stars because there were no issues other than apparently UHAUL did not communicate between locations that our first month was supposed to be free. I had to wait an hour to get checked in:for the truck, the supplies and the storage units that was while a man came in and threatened with blowing up the place with a malfunctioning propane tank. And USPS trying to drop off 10-15 trucks that weren’t supposed to be there. So I understand that it was unexpected but if you had just one other staff person none of this would have slowed down the process of checking people in and out.

We needed multiple units and had a little mixup with an assigned unit having abandoned furniture already in it, but staff worked quickly to resolve the situation. The alarms for climate controlled units go off regularly so it doesn’t seem like they are especially useful for detecting real security threats.

The surrounding area often has loitering, but the facility itself is so easy to back or pull up to and carts are often readily available. The staff of Uhaul are so very pleasant, professional and helpful! I highly recommend. We were able to use Uhaul vans on a few occasions and storage.

She is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with in life. If I didn’t just come in from a 14 hour ride I would have never stored my items there. I definitely will be moving my things soon. Grant also is another one that needs retraining. If these two are someone you guess think should work for your company your wrong cause they give u haul very bad look. anna c | First ImpressionsRented a truck and storage space during my visit. Staff was prompt and responsive and the process of check-in was a breeze, so we could get right to the business of moving. The storage area appeared new and/or was very well maintained. There were covered loading docks so we could drive our 10' truck right inside to unload. Carts were available to help haul things from the truck to the storage room and they were all clean and in good working condition. Once inside the storage area, it was well lit and temperature controlled. Everything was clean inside - walls, floors, hallways, storage rooms - so I judged that my things would be in good shape while there. As for the truck we rented, it too was clean and in good repair (it even had its own padlock built in which is a brilliant addition but sadly probably just a fluke). All in all, we were quite satisfied with our experience and would recommend this location to others.

I asked him what time does the storage unit close he said 7, I asked about the time on the piece of paper that’s says 10. He say he don’t know about that but added 24hrs for $10. But I didn’t need it after 10. I came in when it was closing time about 6:55. My access card don’t work. I will call back in to talk to store management about this. This not my first time having an issue with this u haul company

When checking out, you provide an emergency contact to uhaul and they insist on calling the contact and won’t let you complete checkout until they verify the emergency contact. I have never heard of this type of policy. It was taking so long that people were telling the clerks to hurry up and people just started leaving. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get my rental. I arrived at 9:45 and left with the truck at 11:10. It was just to long of a process . I struggled to give uhaul an average rating.

The facility is very clean and we are very happy with it. U Haul provide moving carts which helped tremendously and it was really easy to find the unit with the map that was provided. I also really liked the security system. Much better than most places I have seen. I would highly recommend the facility to anyone needing to rent storage.

By the time it was my turn in line they could only help me with my box truck. The other person for the storage unit was not around and that I would have to wait for the storage person. I just waited in line??? Why do I need to wait again? I left so I could pack up my daughters dork room. There was a time frame for move out that day. Which meant after packing up all her furniture I had to come back and wait in line again. This process which was suppose to be quick because of the “online check in” was painfully slow. The staff was nice but considering it was move out dates for UGA you would think you would schedule staff accordingly. The other people in line were also waiting a long time and having worse issues than I. I guess I should consider myself. lucky. I’ve used another Uhaul facility in Athens and did not have these issues.
