Nothing wrong with actual location. The truck shook when driving. Brakes were atrocious. It took a significant amount of effort to engage. We arrived at uhaul at apx 6pm, left around 640, yet our return time was 618. When we asked how much a second day would cost we were not given an amount, rather it's around $40. She didn't mention until the end that in addition to the we would be charged for blankets dollies and insurance, making the amount significantly more.
WILLIAM TCould work on the new locker process with are by step access instructions, as staff failed to mention that if don’t swipe bar card the alarm sounds when try yo open unit. And that the lock is inside on the floor.

ROBERT SHad requested 12 of the moving blankets. One of the packages had turned out to have been used before by someone who had not cleaned them off. The blankets were covered in tree pollen and ???, disgusting. It took more than just shaking them off to remove the pollen and other debris from the blankets. Very disappointed.

SYLVIA CWell we paid $85.96 i think we need refund as we did so little mileage i believe we should get refund like $30 also we didn’t pick the mileage the guy wanted to close and he picked and ask for credit card The guy in front desk is the rudest to us and very very bad customer service i dont want to get anyone in trouble i believe his name is Dereck or maybe said wrong name he knew he was so wrong and he kept saying u don’t understand anything u don’t know what u want we want to close and we arrived 5:45 and kept talking very low to me and kept telling me i dont understand anything i never met anyone rude like this in my life and Iam not a complainer but u guys need to know who work for u so i need refund but u dont need to write him up he need a well talk how to respect and talk to customers
KHALED AThe pickup location was changed from somewhere nearby to a location much further out. The wait to obtain the trailer was extremely long. Then the dropoff location was pretty far although there were U-Haul locations that were closer.

LAVONZA HThe unit that I was assigned had a rusty latch so after sitting around for almost an hour to have it fixed, we were told that we’d have to empty out the current unit and move all of my furniture to a new one. Things like this should be checked and confirmed before having someone move in. Very inconvenient and I would like for the manager to contact me ASAP regarding this.

Tiffoney k | First ImpressionsI was scheduled to pick up at the 911 Gate City location. The location was utter chaos and the only 5x8 trailer had one light that was not working. So I had to call this U-Haul location (because the Gate City employees were too busy to help) to see if they had any available trailers. I got lucky and was able to pick one up at this location. However, I wasted 2 hours between arriving at the first location, waiting in line, getting the trailer connected only to discover the light bulb was out, calling the other location and driving to it. I will likely try to keep my rental activity with this location from now on. Everyone at this location was great to work with.

ROSS HI was informed that the truck had been flagged for an issue, but staff later assured me that it had been tested and was cleared for rental. Unfortunately, the truck did, in fact, have a problem, which made my journey unnecessarily difficult and stressful.

Aamer Ohave the equipment reserved. Make sure your inventory is up to date and correct. I reserved a 6 x 10 before going over there. When I arrived, was told they didn't have any available despite being able to see 4 or 5 on the lot. the CSR said one was damaged but still showed up in inventory. Wouldn't it have been better to not showing it as available? I ended up getting a 5x8 with a crappy roll up door instead. Otherwise, a good experience. Will continue to use them in the future.
NATHAN SI want to say that James, and the other (2) guys that worked with him on April 20th were very professional, knowledgeable friendly had smiles on their faces they assistants me with all of my needs. Took the time to explain to me on options that I could use with my move. I rate these guys a 100+++. They were extremely helpful. These are some great guys.

When asking for a padlock for the truck, which we have received before, the male employee refused to give us one and when we stated that we would call uhaul to ask about this, made the statement to another person in the office "See that's that entitlement that I am talking about". I informed him that my entitlement came from the fact that I was paying150.00 for a truck. There is no excuse for racist remarks being made.
ERIC FNieela was the only customer service person helping on a Saturday morning. She was amazing! Handled customers with a friendly, professional manner, stayed even keel. I noticed in particular because I have been in Customer service for many years. I don't know how she did it. Pay her well, she is super. However, me and two other people were needing help, others started pouring into the store. We have to wait a few minutes since she was juggling alot at one time. She really needed help. She should be paid like three people. She was also training someone who was standing and watching her do all of this.

DAVID MGet your truck serviced! It was making all sorts of sounds. Engine light was one. Front driver side mirror was broken. Scheduling was off. Incorrect work times on Google on several locations. Waited half an hour before someone came to help me check out.

DANA Bas a newcomer to Greensboro, this location was hard to find. When I got there, it was difficult to determine where to take the truck for dropoff. Inside was very cluttered and crowded with boxes and equipment to sell. Could not find counter. People in front of me were apparently acquaintances of counter person who was shouting to me over their heads. I do not hear well and what he was trying to say to me was confusing. A very disappointing experience from beginning to end.

I went inside to get someone and I was told to leave the keys in the cup holder and a receipt would be emailed to me Well, I still have not received this emailed receipt or confirmation that the truck was checked in.

I was forced to pay for a dolly bc couldn't park the truck anywhere close to my downtown townhouse. And forced to buy insurance bc I had to drive in tight spaces with a large truck. I'll never rent from uhaul again bc they don't guarantee the equipment you reserved 2 weeks prior will be avail.

The staff very clearly let me use this truck because they were too lazy to take one from further in the lane; in other words, they made me take the one that was in the back of the line so they wouldn’t have to move another vehicle.
JULIAN MU-Haul has become greedy - I’ve never seen so many random fees- and to top it off they charge me an extra 20$ because I couldn’t get the app to work to drop off my equipment. I hope I never have to use U-Haul again.

Staff acknowledge and knows about water damage and shrugged it off as they know they are losing a lot of business from it and common complaint. Also that they’ve been asking about getting the roof work completed to stop the leaks yet nothing from upper management to be done.

Was told it wasn't their responsible for the parking lot. I made the decision to leave that day.

If you ask the General Manager who those four employees were he will be able to tell you who they were. I was the customer that drove from Indiana to remove my stuff and left my storage locker key there. This is when those employees kicked in to ensure I was well taken care of in my time of distress. Please ask Everett because those four employees need to be recognized for their outstanding service to me. Customer service that was top notch!

Byron P | Overall ExperienceFor a majority of my experience, the automatic lights would rarely turn on unless I jumped up and down continuously for about five minutes waving my hands frantically. While this might not seem like the end of the world to most, being a woman and going to this facility alone always made me feel unsafe. I would never go there after 5pm by myself. The rat problem was also disgusting and one of the main reasons why I moved out. To deal with that and then have U-Haul increase the rental fees was pretty ridiculous. To still see rat droppings on the floor of my unit and around but have to pay more each month pretty much sealed the deal for me.

The access time should be longer and if something happen like getting lock out while the unit is still open we should be able to go back in and lock it up. I never experience so small of a unit that I have to purchase an additional unit to have enough space.

The front office people were nice for the most part, but just kind of confused or unhelpful sometimes. It’s accessible, easy to get into once you get the hang of it, and convenient. It was a bit pricey and not worth it for us at a certain point. $140 for storing is pretty steep so I’m glad to finally be able to have that money to put towards stuff I will actually enjoy.

Also accessing the unloading dock is blocked by excessive Uboxes. Makes it hard if more than two customers are trying to get there stuff only two spots available for use.

I have had My Storage Unit for over the past 8.5 years paid yearly without even accessing the unit for past 2.5 years. The moment my unit goes into Lien Status I ask to hold for two days to pay the unit off. The Staff advised me they could not do that, along with the isn’t the first time the same unit meet the same status and was paid in full. Meanwhile when the unit in the past was in the same status I still didn’t access the unit.just paid the bill. I’m just here to say all they wanted and received was my money but never asked me what my situation was for making into Lien Status in the first place. You are not treated with No respect for your Business.

I've had a storage unit at the Friendly location for over a year and have reserved a U-Haul truck on several occasions. They always make a way to ensure that I have the truck I need with the products and services I've requested. The manager Everett was customer centric and went the extra mile to ensure that I had the service I requested at the best price point. It's like he provided the service he would want as if the shoe were on the other foot and he was the customer. The store associates are kind, respectful and always helpful whether providing a service or listening to customers' needs. Any concern I've had was treated with care and their prompt attention. The Friendly location is the only Uhaul location that I will do business with, because they are truly exceptional and provide services above all others that I've visited. I appreciate their quality service. If I ever need a storage unit or truck I'll definitely come back. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

When I first got the unit, uhaul employees told me I was getting a large unit big enough to fit a whole apartment, and they gave me one of the smallest units. I had to get a second small unit because no large units were available. Getting two units made this way more expensive for me and they were so small my stuff really didn’t even fit and some of my stuff got broken. I wouldn’t have even come to uhaul if they had just been honest with me that the big units weren’t available. The alarm was broken the entire time I had units there and would ring the entire time I was in my units. Every time I went there, I asked employees in the office about the alarm on multiple occasions and I even called corporate about it and everyone kept telling me it wouldn’t ring any more and then it would ring again the next time I went to my units. It’s very painful to the ears. Even on the last day I was there, one of the uhaul employees tried telling me I must be entering my code in wrong if it is ringing and tried to act like it was something I’m doing wrong. I’ve been there other times where employees admitted to me the system is broken and said it does that all the time so he was wrong to try to blame me for that. I verified my code with him and it didn’t stop the ringing after that. I even asked him to come help me with my code or the alarm and he just told me he fixed it and it should not ring anymore and he he wouldn’t look at it with me. As soon as I went back to the unit after he told me that, it was still ringing and no employee came to look at it for me. The code box never worked the entire time I had my units, and I’ve been there a few times where uhaul employees actually tell customers to leave the door cracked open so customers can get in. When I went at night the door would be cracked open and it wasn’t safe because anyone could follow me in. Then when we got our truck on the last day it had a flat tire. They had a parking lot full of trucks and wouldn’t let us switch the truck out because they said those were reserved. We had a reservation also though so that didn’t make sense at all and the other people they were referring to weren’t there. We had to wait for roadside repair to come and we were paying movers by the hour so moving became even more expensive for us because of Uhaul’s y professionalism. The place has terrible customer service. I saw they took records of my units off my portal but I still got charged for most of the time I was there. To me I shouldn’t have been charged because this was a terrible experience. I typically don’t complain or try to get my money back but this was incredibly bad customer service.

Seniya S | First ImpressionsI rented a storage unit at U-haul for 4 years and 8 months consecutively (the same unit) and I was treated disrespectfully, put on hold for over 20 minutes with no repeat follow up from the U-haul staff member, spoken to rudely , interrupted repeatedly when speaking with a representative, had my U-haul truck rental reservations canceled and moved to a location 30 miles out of the way and it is much more details I can add here, but this is just the overview of my experience.I will never recommend U-haul.

A 26 ft truck out of state rental and the storage unit was upstairs with no elevator and no one mentioned that. I had to rent three units to be avoid hurting my old self and the people I hired to do the job. Trash and rat traps litter the place.

The building was not secure...the door could be opened, the alarm would sound, but we were told no one would come to check on the alarm if it went off. There was also no elevator to the second floor. We decided to go elsewhere, as I did not want my items stinking like something dead.

A 5 day grace period should have been granted and I had to move trash from in front of my storage that someone else left. Other wise my three years doing business with you was great.

Not sure where the water came from but it covered the soles of our shoes and it hadn’t rained so not sure what was going on with that but the dock smelled like vomit. I wish the doors to get into the units were wider. It was very hard to get my furniture especially sofa and loveseat into the door of the 10’ x 10’ unit.

I don’t want to be charged an extra day for the truck and I would like to be able to access the storage unit that I’m paying nearly $100 a month for at my convenience.

But, when I picked up the van, I had attempted to do the online part but that failed, and couldn't get a response online. The guy working the desk was creepy! Couldn't tell if he did it with my credit card also. When I asked him about it he said he didn't do it. The guy had his volume turned up on the phone and I could clearly hear the picture taking sound. I have cancelled my credit card because of this and now concerned about my drivers license information being out that. I feel I need to get the redone. I am expecting u-haul to reimburse me for this expense and provide me with an explanation of why he is taking picture of my id and possibly my credit card.
