Todd PI reserved a trailer a month ago and two days before my move was told they only had the smallest trailer available. That trailer was being used by somebody else and was unreachable. I had to get in touch with a regional scheduler to get anything at all. If there was literally any other service in town I'd have switched to them and will likely never use uhual again after the awful experience.

CRYSTAL G#1 The location was clean but it was not clear at all where to drop off the truck, the parking lot is full of storage units blocking view of the entrance and dropoff area and the signage on the building was not clear at all as to where to go. #2 I would have picked maybe or probably for recommending location but am very unhappy having to pay at least $100 more for rental and fuel cost because of reservation not being honored. Any rental car company the doesn't have the vehicle gives you the next size up for the same rate. Seems like bait and switch to me, I have no way to confirm if a truck was available or not hence why I said I was forced. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND UHAUL BECAUSE OF THESE TACTICS. HARD TO BELIVE NOT ONE 15FT TRUCK AVAILABLE IN ALL OF ANCHORAGE. '

After being turned away after paying for an uber to arrive I called again and the agent contacted the store and after arguing with me reluctantly rented me the vehicle. Fuel listed was incorrect and they had damage they knew about that was undocumented

TAWANDA NFuel was at half when I got it and on the paperwork it showed 3/4 tank. Had to pay extra because I returned it at the same level I was at.
JERID JEverything was fine down to Tony the friendly fellow who helped me out, I live here in Fairbanks the van I rented was just the right size for the job, one drawback is the van obtains better traction with weight in the rear of the van. It was no big deal just did the Alaskan thing tip to home and load up some sandbags and away we went. It may be a good idea to have some sandbags available for folks to without ample winter driving experience. I work in a tire shop you have the right tires just need to add some weight

Leah GPull the equipment into a warming area prior to the Customer picking it up. The Equipment was covered in snow and also buried in snow. The leftside rear tire had a hole that was unnoticeable due to these situations. Once I shoveled the snow off of the trailer it was iced over making it extremely difficult to load the vehicle on the trailer.

AMY WWatch out! We were charged for another month’s storage when our boxes were still in transit. That is not right. We did not have access to them as they were still on the ocean. U-Haul would not refund the 2 box storage fee charged on the 21st of October and our boxes arrived at our location on the 23rd. When you do not have access to your boxes and they are still in transit, you SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED STORAGE FEES.

ROBERT WPut all season or winter tires on vehicles! Bald tires don’t work at all in Fairbanks, Alaska. when I asked if they had decent tires for winter, the worker at uhaul told me “Oh, it’s a dually so you won’t have any trouble.” That truck could not get going on a flat and well gravelled surface! Definitely a waste of money as we could only make one trip instead of two, and now still need to rent a truck elsewhere to complete our move!!

Toby VI am concerned about the ethics within your company because I had a minor accident with one of your trailers and I have been grossly overcharged for damages that I, as a master mechanic, would dispute. In specific I am being charged for a tire and wheel that were not damaged as well as some other components that I know were not damaged when I returned the unit. I freely admitted that I had an accident and told the agent when returning the trailer. We inspected the unit together and agreed upon the extent of the damages but when I received the bill it had much more than we had observed. I think I am being ripped off and I can not in good faith recommend renting from you in the future.

ROBERT DKayla and Logan are absolutely amazing team players! They were both very good at communicating and explaining various aspects of the rental. Logan helped make sure I I arrived to the correct location. Kayla made sure communication was fluid in regards to needing to extend to and hour or so. Very transparent very respectful and extremely helpful. 10/10 can’t wait to use them again!

OXENIA P | Overall ExperienceWe weren’t notified that our container had arrived until after I called to check in on it. I’m not sure how many days it sat there and I could have picked it up earlier. Was also very nervous when we went to pick it up and the guy just said to take the one we thought was ours, so it was never checked out to us. Also we were not told to schedule the pickup 24 hrs in advance so that became tricky in trying to arrange since we are 2 hrs from the site. Also, both loading and unloading locations have poor communication and when we told them to ship it wasn’t made clear to manager to ship for a week, so it was delayed from the beginning, and then the non notification at the end was frustrating as well. I’m not sure why there isn’t a way to have it tracked in transit since it is a large item and it seems like it would be helpful to have an idea where it was last located
Lily WCould have made payments easier and reach out for non payment options better. Also accepted cash app payments over the phone but uhaul unit was still closed and believe card numbers was stolen due to payment still being processed by an employee
Sarah F | Overall ExperienceDue to understaffing the phone are rarely answered. It's upsetting and misleading. Unfair to the employees who have to deal with upset customers due to a staffing issue. Office is often empty when walking in. Wait times can be long.
Katrina G | Overall ExperienceThe only issue I had was the concrete barrier for the fire hydrant, I couldn’t SEE it…. When I parked, that was the closest spot available. But I was at the wrong door. So I went to move my truck, didn’t SEE anything on the passenger side, so I cranked the wheel but it was the wrong way and it destroyed my front quarter panel and front bumper. Unfortunately I found out I don’t have collision on this vehicle so I cannot afford to fix it. But everything else was ok ish. I mean, ideally I want more than a 10x10 but I guess that’s how those outside units are built? Since they all the garage doors on the opposite side I’m guessing there’s no 10x20?
craig h | First ImpressionsI used the South Fairbanks (Airport) facility. There was enough room to unload and unpack the shipment from the movers. It is clean and they were working on repairing and keeping it clean. The inside temperature felt more comfortable than most other storage facilities in town. If I need another storage unit with those qualities, I'd rent here again.

I cannot stress enough how well run this particular place is. They offer a variety of services. I had a trailer hitch installed. My storage room looked brand new and was climate controlled. There were multiple pieces of moving equipment available to use for free. Honestly too much to write- it's easier to come see for yourself. Bottom line they offer many services and it's a pleasure to do business with them.

I really appreciated the drive-in garage bays for loading and unloading, and the complimentary trolley carts. It was also easy to pay my rental fee online. My only complaint is that sometimes it seemed like the office was understaffed, so that when I had a need to attend to, I would have to wait for quite a while if there were multiple other customers needing assistance. But overall, great experience!

LLOYD F | First ImpressionsI live in anchorage and our sole purpose is to come up for the events at the Carlson center. They always end on Sunday at 5pm and you all close at 5pm. We need to be able to put our items back in the storage after the event before we head to the airport. Even if you could close at 6 just for us to access our storage unit, that would be great. They announced several times that they don’t want anyone to move out before 5pm because it creates a safety issue for the patrons. As much as I like your facility, this may not work for us. We need to be able to rent a unit for at least 2-3 years. Please let us know if you can work with us

Also their was an empty 5x10 next to one of the separated units however the manager on site couldn’t change the units so I could have two units side by side because the rental was made online. Luckily the in store units wasn’t split. Also the split unit is two 5X10s that are apart from each other . There was an available 5x10 next to one of the split units I got but the manager said they couldn’t change the online designation. It seems odd that a store manager can’t reassign units in their store as needed to accommodate a customer better.

I was not told that i had to sign in and what times I access the storage unit that I paid $129. And $10 for the uhaul lock. Online the price was different. And the price on the wall is $79. However, the first truck would stop running whenever it hit a full stop. We asked for a replacement and then the second truck's cabin stank of marijuana. I'm allergic to marijuana. The cabin will have to be completely wiped down to get rid of the smell. Or ask for another new truck. The gentleman at the desk was very nice and helpful. Jared at Fairbanks Uhaul on Airport Way was a pleasure to talk to. Please give the man a raise for working with coworkers that contaminate the other trucks. :D

The storage area was easily accessible either via a man door or garage door. It was well lit, warm and easily accessible. The storage area appeared to be secure and free of unsavory characters. I would certainly recommend storage at this location.

But, the old flooring has been left in the corridors, which can be extremely bumpy sometimes, and if the load on the dollies is unbalanced at all, items will fall off. Minor inconvenience for me, for others who would be storing valuables, a much bigger concern.

Not how can I help u not anything remotely customer service based and when talking to the employee about the different sizes and costs he was very confused and unsure of anything, it just was a very difficult situation and experience with very little in the form of assistance or help to be guided in the right direction.

SHAWN C | Overall ExperienceThe service from the lady was awesome, she was professional and nice but the person named Preston made me walk in the cold holding moving boxes to find the vehicle that was mine. He gave me the keys and said that it should be In front of the building. I checked, the letters and numbers didn’t match, so I walked and checked every single vehicle and still could find it. Finally I went in and the nice lady gladly walked me to the vehicle that was mine. Also every other uhaul place that I have been to have brought out the vehicle to me. I think he needs training on customer service due to his attitude towards me, and knowing where a vehicle is. The lady did great, more better than most people in her position despite me having card issues. She needs a raise, I’m only going back because of her.

Aliyah B | Overall ExperienceWhen my wife and I moved up from Las Vegas for our new assignment at eielson afb we had put in a reservation for a 10x20 storage locker. That reservation was not honored and we had to jump through hoops in an attempt to find a location to unload a 26' truck. After securing two 10x10 lockers we moved out of one and informed the front desk twice it had been cleared. When we returned a week later to empty the second, the first locker was still open and had never been removed from our profile. The only issue I have with the facility is the hike from the loading area to the rear corner. Having another set of doors would have made our move so much easier, it seemed close to 100 yards each way when we were toting our household belongings.

This Preston so called manager never reached out to me. Shannon was rude and condescending throughout this whole experience. You seriously need better customer service employees or extensive training so they know how to BE NICE to the customers. The college road uhaul treats its customers way much better. The only reason I used this one, it was closer to my home. Never again will I use this one... Such a disappointment... There was also broken glass by my storage unit the whole month I was there, no one cleaned it. The bathroom was filthy, no tissue, no soap... Be better..

Shannon was adamant about not giving any deals/discounts. I even asked if there was any discounts for healthcare workers, she very quickly said NO. I was like oh ok.. I would rather have had the gentleman that was working, at least he apologized for having to go help a customer outside. I told him it was fine because I was still looking at boxes. I even asked her if there was any discounts for short term, because we only needed it for two weeks until the place we're moving into is ready. Shannon's very stand offish and said "No we don't pro rate" and left it at that. I was like dang, can she be any ruder! She needs better customer service skills and maybe U haul customer service is not her thing. She's going to end up helping you lose customers rather than gain them. OH, when I mentioned the college road u haul gave discounts, her rude answer was they were probably not following guidelines, I'm like really?! How would she know that. She was just not helpful at all. FYI: Your bathroom was very dirty. I asked to use the bathroom, she was like ok and walked away. I would rather have used the college road U haul facility, but yours was much closer.

Lily A | Overall ExperienceMy experience was very inconvenient at every corner. During the move in, my reservation was to a different Uhaul location that was managed by this office. The access gate wasn't working so I was forced to relocate to this location. I reserved an outside unit, which wasn't available so I was forced to get an inside unit at a much more expensive rate. There's typically only 1 worker ever to be found, multiple times we were waiting for 30 plus minutes to even talk to someone. I don't recommend this place, storage rates are super high.

They stoked 200 rounds of ammunition for my gun, went threw EVERYTHING!! And broke my Easter decorations ( Which is my favorite Holiday). I feel it was an inside job & I had to move my stuff to a safe storage Unit elsewhere. Very disappointed ‼️‼️

I will be telling everyone not to go there and will not be spending another cent with Uhaul after what happened.
