The drop off place in Meridian, Idaho is brand new. Lots of help I like it.

Lazarus ZMy pickup location was changed and The truck I reserved was given to another customer and the only thing available was half the size of what I needed. There was also no Dollies available and had to go to a different store to get those. Then when I went to drop off the truck I was charged extra for the miles I drove when the difference was the miles added by the location changes and the extra trips I had to take due to my truck being half the size I wanted. Really crappy experience.

DONALD TFirst of all there is no military discount. Seriously?!? That’s why U-Haul was created, to help military PCS to new locations. I’ll be using the dealers instead as much as possible. Also we explained numerous times that we need something big enough for our truck. We went with what they determined would fit. The trailer did not fit and we had to go straight back to return it, mind you with a fully loaded 26ft truck. When we returned, the little girl didn’t say hey did you know we have a toy hauler. Nope. And when my husband asked she said no U-Haul location carries those… there were two in your parking lot. She didn’t know how to do her job. She was trying to have the guys that clean and fix the property hook up and unhook the trailer. When we went over the fact that the trailer sucked immediately returned they said they dropped the charge, I let them know we had no dolley in the truck and the guy said he took it off the reservation. Then we drop off at one of your dealers NOT a U-Haul and they let us know that your location never fixed their mistakes! Thank goodness this lady knew her job and fixed all of the mistakes and gave us the military discount (the trailer was over 500$ WTF?) . We are moving 5.5 hours away due to military PCS! I’ll never go to a U-Haul again. I’ll always find a dealer, or go through any one else. Horrible experience. Oh and they didn’t give us extra miles that are supposed to be given under the terms of aPCS. P.S. The two young guys that work at this location were great, the former military gal was great. The little girl that maybe just hit 20 needs some brain cells or maybe better training or maybe a different job. She almost cost us over 500$ and because of her lack of intelligence or experience which ever one we also waisted 2-3 hours while driving around a fully loaded 26ft U-Haul She didn’t comp us for the miles that were waisted because she lacks intelligence or experience or both. Maybe hire people who have had to use U-Haul for long major moves and bring back the active duty military discount for PCS.

bryan cThere should be better attention paid to your trailers. I was issued a car dolly told everything was okay and when I arrived at the location to pick up the car the driver side tail light was hanging out because there was no screws in it. When I returned I informed them that I had put a couple screws in to hold it in place and the only question I was asked was did I call roadside assistance. Why was it allowed to ever leave the lot without being inspected properly? Plus when I returned it the counter person was very long commutative had an earbud in and acted like she was paying more attention to whatever she was listening to then what the customers were saying. On multiple occasions I told her I didn't hook the trailer back where I picked it up from and she kept repeating pull it under the awning and we will check it out after I had informed her that it was unhooked and back where it was supposed to be.
James wI arrived before opening and had to wait, door opened at 7:00 am than was told I had to wait and meet someone on the drop location. He checked the trailer in I was a day early returning the trailer he gave me a receipt but no credit for early return. No explanation or thank you.
Tyrone BDJ greeted me promptly when I walked in the office, and he made quick work of the process to rent the van I had reserved. The van was clean and it operated well. DJ made quick and easy work of returning the van as well. I'll use this U-Haul location for all of my future van or truck rental needs. DJ deserves five stars!
William GI was a pleasant experience on check out and on checkin. They have a good staff! Note: I have rented there twice. Each time I had to back the truck out from the spaces on the side of the building. It is really difficult if it is a longer truck parked near the end of the parking area. That is kind of tricky for someone who is not used to driving a big truck, le alone backing one up. Seems to me the staff could drive the trucks out OR, staff could back them in when they park them. That way, renters would be safer just driving out forward.
Ronald HTraining the employees to actually know what to do and how to do it. Equipment that I paid for was not available and when asked I was told they were so busy the didn’t have any. But I could greatly see the same equipment in other trucks. I asked for a refund for those pieces if equipment and they said they could not change anything on their end. Two employees said I would have to get the refund when I dropped the truck off in the state I was traveling to. The customer service was poor in Meridian, Idaho.

David GI reserved a trailer to use moving personal items to California. The pick-up was scheduled for today, Monday June 15th. U-Haul Idaho called me yesterday, Sunday June 14th, and asked me if I wanted to pick up the trailer on Sunday at no extra charge and would give me an extra day to return to U-Haul at the completion of my trip to California. The agent told me there were an abundance of trailers available and they wanted to get them off their lot. That seemed to be helpful and I appreciated the offer. I picked the trailer up Sunday and parked the trailer in front of my house that is less than 5 miles from the U-Haul dealership where picked up. After returning home with the trailer yesterday, I decided I would not need the trailer. When I returned the trailer this morning, Monday June 15th to the same location where I picked it up, I was informed that I would be charged the local daily rate for taking the trailer on Sunday. I totally disagree with being charged a daily rate just because I took the trailer one day earlier than reserved. I did not use the trailer to move anything, it sat in front of my house overnight. I only picked it up early because of the call from U-Haul Idaho. I am requesting a full refund for the daily rate charge.

Skyler BWe mistakenly returned the Uhaul a few hours after picking it up. We were told we should not need it. Then of course, the movers told me we DO need it. I called U-Haul and they would not let me restart the order. Twas a mistake on the mover's part and I had to lose a $600 U-Haul trailer because of it and the store was not helpful.
Ryan FA video showing how to do the pick up using the app. The app did not work well at all. I could not adjust the seat and had to get help. The truck did not have a full tank of gas for a long one way trip - inconvenient.

Kathy SYour corporate one 800 number quotes, a certain price and then the local U-Haul dealer completely screwed us. We thought we were gonna be paying $350 for a truck rental but paid over 700. My wife signed a contract she shouldn’t have, but they held her to it even though corporate quoted her completely different price. Buyer beware. Never use you all again.

MASON PThe lady that was at the check out when I picked up was not someone I would want representing my company. I had parked in a spot along the street side of the complex, which was not marked other than parking lines, she told me I needed to move my vehicle and I said sure but can we process the rental first she said once you love your vehicle. Fine. I move my vehicle and sure enough now there are 3 people in line in front of me 2 of which parked in the same spot I was told I needed to move from. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, however I was on a tight time line getting to a donation where our non profit chatter school had 1 hour to collect the donations. This whole show of power from a woman who chooses to enforce the “rules” only when she wants, cost me 20 minutes of that hour drastically reducing the amount of donations we were able to get. I am pretty pissed about this actually and 100% will not be going back to that location and will definitely think twice about using Uhual in the future which is unfortunate as I have done $1000s of dollars of business with Uhual.
Andrew BThe prices and pricing structure is kind of out of hand. You see an advertised $35 and then you end up paying close to $100 after all the fees, not including the mileage fees.
Kaleb EYou guys called me the night before my move, when I was gathered with friends to say my goodbyes. I missed the call, but received both a voicemail and a text urging me to call back because you all needed to speak with me. I stepped away and called back, just to wait on hold for 10 minutes and be transferred two or three times just for the call to end. I called back in an hour and the call was picked up and all that was needed was to confirm my reservation. That could have been a text. If that wasn’t annoying enough, when I did show up for my reservation, the location did not have any of the dolly that I have reserved. You spent all that time wasting mine to confirm my reservation, when you didn’t have my reservation ready.
Matthew LThe only thing that could maybe use some improvement would be maybe be a little more flexible. I didn't use the blankets I rented. I didn't even take the blankets out of the front seat. They were still in the bag sealed. I'm 70 years old recently divorced after 41 years. Moving by myself, let's of expenses and lots of things to remember. I had forgotten about the blankets being in the front seat I was so busy with moving. I think it should have been adjusted and not been charged, since I didn't use them. Daniel was great helping me get on my way when I picked up the truck.

James WThe one curious thing in my rental experience this time was it a lady called me to reportedly book the connection for the next day at 5:30 6 o’clock she took all my information, including the credit card and everything. I assumed at that time that she was charging for the rental, but when I went to the store, I had to repeat all that information because it wasn’t stored in this computer I don’t know that app. I don’t know how that happens and evidently the information that she took down was lost somewhere. She did a good job. It’s just if the sales agent young man at the store didn’t have that information I was curious about that but all in all is a nice experience. I do it again.

DAVID H | Online Move InOur move-in was a disastrous fiasco. We purchased a 7x10 unit for $129/month. Upon arriving, I noticed that the unit didn't seem to match the schematics accurately. I measured it, and it was actually a 5x8. I let staff know, and this process was extremely slow. But I want to let it be known that none of this was the fault of Gabriel, who assisted us. He went above and beyond to make things right and he deserves more pay for what he did. We were forced to downgrade to a 5x10 because no 7x10 units were available. In fact, they weren't anywhere on the map of the facility, so I believe this specific size of unit did not exist and was some computer error. The fact that you can pay such a price for a unit much smaller than advertised is ridiculous. If I hadn't known better or thought to measure it myself, I'd be paying an extra 30 dollars a month! Additionally, once Gabriel gave us our new 5x10 unit, it already had a lock on it for some reason. So we had to wait even longer. But Gabriel came through again, and gave us a proper 5x10 that we could use. And use it we did. Overall the experience was very confusing and poor.

So we asked them to upsize us. They had us put in our code. It didn’t work. We came back weeks later put in our code at the door still didn’t work, we updated it again. Still didn’t work. They were nice enough to give us a month free but still had issues with our new code. I’m not sure how that’s simple of a system has that big of an issue . If this continues I’m going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. It’s supposed to be a secure facility. I need a secure place for a reason and I feel uncomfortable at this point.

I had reserved a 10x20 and I was unaware that it was 2 different storage units, so when I opened it I was like ummm this isn’t what I reserved, the kids had seen my reservation and didn’t tell me I had another storage unit right next to mine so I went into the office and asked what the heck and he was like oh ya you have the one next to it too and I was like okay can you unlock that one too? He was like ya give me a min, he hopped on his scooter or Segway and zoomed back to where the other storage unit was located unlocked it and zoomed away, he was just really unprofessional and rude in my opinion.

They aren’t ready to rent yet… not convenient rooms, and would t open the disabled access. I’m disabled. But I couldn’t use the door closest to the unit. The guy who checked me in needs to not tell people inaccurate info. However, the unit was clean and the lady checking me in tolerated my frustration very well. So great customer service except the check in on the phone.

But facility is not authorized to take U-Boxes yet. I was directed to another U-Haul facility. Using the other facility apparently started a conversation about user transfer of U-Box that has not yet been resolved. So excellent experience at East Overland in Meridian, Idaho. Accusatory and somewhat threatening experience elsewhere. Would appreciate a call from a representative to discuss/mediate/resolve U-Box issue.
