It was perfect all around

They had the truck and storage space available, and I was able to get what I needed moved and into a unit. Given, the truck wasn’t available until 4:30pm but that’s not their fault. Usually that’d be a passing grade for me; good to go. I’m not the type to leave a negative review for anything really. Now, I can appreciate the fact that I was able to get the job done, but it wasn’t without tripping over every hurdle along the way. The manager was especially not helpful. I filled out all the info online when applying, and online it didn’t show my truck reservation. They had it scheduled, but I had no way of doublechecking without calling. When I showed up, they had the truck but didn’t have the secondary contact info that I filled out online. So we had to put that in again, the whole time the manager was treating it like I was inconveniencing her by saying “oh I already filled this information out, is it not there?” She rolled her eyes and cut me off saying no we have to fill it out again I don’t see it. Then after we get through the process I tell her I also got a storage unit. She seems annoyed again that she has to keep talking to me, and informs me it will be 2 units. She I ordered one larger unit rather than the smallest available, so the extra space would fit my couches, so having the unit be separated into two is not what I ordered. In addition to that, when we went to go and check out the units, she forgot to give us the keys and locks? So we had to go all the way back inside, for her to tell us they’re inside the units. They weren’t, and she sends another employee to investigate (who was so nice by the way, shoutout to them) and they informed us that they didn’t have that size unit available at this location so that’s why it’s 2 separate ones. It’s baffling to me that in a business that stresses space and measurements, they could make one unit into two because it’s technically the same amount of space rented. No, because there’s a wall in the way, and now I have to stand these heavy couches on the arms, and good news, the doors are much shorter than the height of the unit, and they roll up to the top of the opening and not the roof of the unit, so putting these tall couches in will be a nightmare, and you guessed it, it was! Also damaged my couches a bit in the process, because again I didn’t expect to wedge and pivot on asphalt. Door got stuck on some of my boxes because I have to leave ample space due to the way they roll up, damaged 2 boxes and had to take everything out of them. Took 45 minutes to get that door open again. So, not only was there a wall in the way, I couldn’t use the first 6 inches of the unit because of the door. Again, in a business that is built on moving things into a space, it’s beyond ironic that there were issues. Besides that, the units weren’t clean, full of spiders. Livid, honestly, but I had to move my stuff in there because I’m on a time limit with the truck. Instead of upgrading me to a larger unit or even telling me where the unit was available and maybe even comping the miles to get to that location, but no. Now onto the truck. I got a text saying to verify the info with the truck and it’s insurance before leaving, and the link crashed every time I tried opening it. Went back inside and the very helpful manager said “I wouldn’t worry about it” even though it had very important looking notices of liability ect. This isn’t really something I’m going to be lax on, but it was clear she had something better to do. What was it? Someone parked a truck in the lot next door, and according to the ice cream shop worker that came in to tell her about it, “it had been there all day” and even though there was absolutely nothing they could do about it because they didn’t have the keys, the manager thought it was more worth the time to go over there. Customer likely parked it there to switch vehicles and would be back for it later, and no it’s not pressing for this vehicle to be parked in a gravel overflow lot for an ice cream stand. Anyway, so I get in my truck and it didn’t have a full tank at the time of pickup, more like 3/4 and 1/8 which would’ve made things a lot easier when filling to just fill it up, ended up overfilling it. The tire pressure light was on, but it was a tire pressure system light? Could’ve been bad sensors in the wheels, but wasn’t happy to see a warning light first thing when I get behind the wheel on the truck I just rented. Truck was dirty and dusty in the back, not much I can do there, just kind of had to roll with it. Swept it out the best I could. Things still got dirty, and I had rain to deal with in addition. Once again, if this was a single unit, it would’ve taken one trip, but it wasn’t, so I had to be strategic with what I packed on the first trip and account for the extra time it would take to load everything, and it took a LOT of extra time rearranging and shifting things around. It ended up having to be two separate trips, so we went over milage. I could have done it all in one trip if the truck was available earlier as well, but that also wasn’t an option. So my choices were rearrange and move everything until 5am or take two trips into the following day. Good thing I reserved 24 hours, because I needed it now. Second trip, once again, took extra time unloading into the storage space. Because of that, got caught up in the rain and all of my boxes got wet. Good thing I moved most of the large heavy and important stuff the first day, but I still didn’t want my wood furniture and cardboard boxes packed full of stuff being exposed to water. I’m not blaming uhaul for the rain, I’m blaming them for giving me the storage space(s) that took extra effort and time to utilize leaving me *caught* in the rain. Overall experience driving the truck wasn’t bad, no issues there, but glad one of the tires didn’t go flat or we could’ve had a monumental problem on top a pile of huge ones. Overall, the equipment and storage were in a less than less than desirable condition, got space that I couldn’t utilize as well as I should’ve been able to, the manager was rude and wasn’t helpful at all, and my stuff was damaged because of everything above but also in addition to the rain which we didn’t think we’d run into. But hey, it’s in storage and I was able to move out on a budget, that’s worth at least 2 stars. Rent. Storage. Elsewhere.

Have the truck manual in the glove box. Had no idea how to control the. AC. Also, someone left a dirty food container in the truck.

Great service by the staff. Very friendly. However, the van smelled HORRIBLY of cigarette smoke. We had to drive with the windows down the entire time we had it. Super disappointing that the rule isn't followed and proper cleaning doesn't take place.

Overall, my experience was excellent. I did report that there is an issue with the brakes as well as when you put the car in drive and reverse. I am not sure if there is a problem with the transmission as well.

The brakes on the truck were poor and it vibrated and pulled to one side. The low tire pressure indicator was on. I told the attendant these problems. The truck worked well for what I needed it to do and was clean.

The people were very polite and very professional. The location is very clean and very convenient. Everything was great about this experience! One comment is the truck needs maintenance on the TPMS system, but it's not a big deal. Front rotors feel a little warped too, but to be expected from a truck with 78K miles.

I don’t understand why I was charged for fuel. I stopped at a gas station and filled the tank to the amount that was requested in the app. I feel like they didn’t need to charge the extra amount.

One of the most pleasant experiences of the whole moving process - the staff was extremely helpful and nice - facilities were well maintained, clean, well lit & very secure! The whole process from start to finish was easy and the one month was even free!! Can't beat that!! Would highly recommend UHaul Webster!! 😊

Customer service... arrived early and were told we would have to walk to back of building to get truck, which would've been no big deal at all EXCEPT we were told "since you're early, we haven't brought truck around". So it sounded like they had planned to bring truck around to front of building for our initial pick up time, but because we arrived early , that wasnt a service they felt like providing. Almost like it was in inconvenience for our early arrival. Disappointing. Early arrival or on time, same protocols should apply.

The employee at desk was very courteous and knowledgeable . I would just say it would be good for the employee to let you know there will be a text sent to you to photo the truck before you leave and send it to the site in the text for before photos. Once I got to my location and saw the text the link had timed out. I phoned the employee, and she told me it would be fine without the photos, but a heads up would have been better.

Marilyn was great! She was so helpful with the whole experience of my getting an indoor storage unit. She was friendly and professional and answered all my questions. She made the whole process go smoothly and wanted to help in anyway she could. Also, she did all this while the store was just starting up and getting boxes, tape, locks and all the other things the store needed! If I needed to have another storage unit I wouldn’t hesitate to go U-Haul Webster ( as long as Marilyn was there!)

Marylin does a good job of keeping an eye on what’s going on and assuring the facility is clean and secure. The bathrooms are clean and an excellent convenience. The keyless entry made it very convenient to enter the site and the building. The environmental control was always in the prescribed range and comfortable. The elevators are large and well padded. They have many carts available. The prices are very reasonable. If boxes or packing material was needed they’re available in their onsite store. I highly recommend this storage community.

I do not like that I have to use provided lock with key. I would prefer to use my own combination lock so that family members can access their stored items more easily. App seems useless, does not show any information or functionality regarding my storage space.

This U-Haul Location Stands Broad & Tall, Way Above Average for Such a Business. The General Manager During my Tenure as a Storage Space Renter, Marilyn Arbo, is in a Class By Herself. Her Attention to the Seemingly Lost Art of Running a Business that Puts its Client Front & Center Above Profit is Her Hallmark Quality. She is Flat-Out Amazing! My Family Has Being Going Through a Tough Period with One of Our Most Integral Members Battling a Debilitating Illness, and Ms. Arbo Went Out of Her Way to Be Extremely Accommodating, as I was Not Able to Make it Out to the Premises to Open my Lock, So She & Her First Lieutenant Drilled Through it to Render it Open.., Before my Rental Period for the Month of August, 2025 Ensued, Which Would Have Been the Next Day! Told them I needed an extension for 2 more days. They tried to run a 4 day extension. I transferred only enough funds for a 2 day extension so the payment went pending for a day then returned. Uhaul wasted no time in embarrassing me by having the truck repoed while I stopped for lunch. No call from them to tell me the payment didn’t go through. Then they kept my stuff located in the truck and claimed they didn’t know where it had ended up. Sickening and embarrassing.

Didn't realize you had access hours, in a well monitored facility it should be 24 hour access trusting cameras. Also 6 pm is crazy early to close and no one made me aware of your hours while making the reservation. I called at 5:50 to confirm the address and am glad I did as a rush phone check in is the only reason I actually got the space I reserved. Had I not happened to make that call I would have been in an UNACCEPTABLE, UNCOMFORTABLE position

Marilyn was so helpful in making sure I was able to get a truck her internet went down several times when she was trying to make my reservation, at one point she said that she wouldn’t be able to help me but if anything changed she said she would call me, so I went down to hertz and they wanted to charge me some outrageous price and the phone rang it was Marilyn and she said I got a reservation for you, I know it sounds corny but she saved my day I just want to say Thank you so much.
