U-Haul should do a much better job of matching the storage to the size of the original rental! They should take into consideration the fact that people (families) are moving from one city to another, and a such are already 'digging' into their financial resources, which these days are getting slimmer and slimmer!

DOLORES CI can’t say enough good things about U-Haul as a company. I shipped my belongings from Santa Rosa, CA to Houston, thinking I was going to stay in Houston after my mom passed away. I went to the storage center there several times to get things out of the Box. The staff in Houston were all very friendly and helpful. I then sent my belongings back to Santa Rosa and they delivered the Box to my home. I had it for two days and when they came to pick it up, the guy helped me with two pieces of furniture that I couldn’t handle myself. He went above and beyond his duties to help me. And, believe it or not, not a single thing was broken after being hauled twice halfway across the country! I highly recommend U-Haul and tell everyone about my experience.

IBRAHIMA DI've utilized several U-Haul locations this year after selling my house and renting three different storage units, and the experience is typically quite positive. However, my most recent rental had a few hiccups. After booking online and arriving at the location, I opened the truck's back door to find the furniture blankets scattered haphazardly across the rear section. It appeared as though no one had inspected or tidied up the truck prior to my rental, and the zip ties were missing. Additionally, due to server issues at the office, I didn’t receive a receipt, and the app wouldn’t allow me to take pictures at the location. It felt like the rental was activated before I even accepted it. Another recurring frustration is that when renting a furniture dolly at various locations, they’re often unavailable despite being charged for them. U-Haul could really benefit from taking a bit more pride in their service and attention to detail.

ANGELICA SIt was a day late but no big deal. It was a long ride from Texas to Ri so I understand. Everyone from loading to unloading was very helpful. When I contacted U-Haul about it being late they contacted me within the hour and confirmed a new delivery date which was the next day. None of my items were damaged. Make sure you pack it well so things don’t shift during transport. 9/10 experience for me I would use them again. Also!!! To ease your mind buy apple tags and transport them with your box I didn’t do that but read the idea afterwards would have saved some stress.

Insurance Charged Without Approval – I never agreed to purchase rental insurance, yet it was added to my total without my consent. This is completely unacceptable, and I would have declined it had I been given the option. 2. Misleading Mileage Quote – When I booked, I was quoted a price that included 100 miles. However, upon returning the truck, I was told the quote only covered 50 miles, forcing me to pay an additional $30. Had I been given the correct information upfront, I would have planned accordingly. 3. Lack of Transparency – At no point did the U-Haul representative clarify these charges when I picked up the truck. I only discovered the extra fees at drop-off, which felt like a deliberate bait-and-switch tactic

I’m sure that his genuine compassion, rarely goes unnoticed.

I stop paying because it was broken into and was told I cannot file a claim even though I had the insurance. I have short term memory issues from an accident and was told I had no options to file the claim. Not good business. The manager also lied to me and told me she could not tell me what was left in the shed until I told her some things I had in there. Then she said, “ oh yeah the maintenance guy said there was (insert items here) in the shed when he put the new lock on.”

The manager, however, that concluded my transaction was not: 1) the elevator did not work so she moved my unit to another bldg. 2) The main doors did not work to that bldg. 3) She sent me a block down to the next bldg unassisted, so I could not get in since she did not educate me about checking in first then using my card to gain entry; 4) Walked a block back to ask her for help & she showed me how to gain access; 5) When I got to my assigned unit, it was zip-tied so I still could not use it; 6) I walked the block back again (in 90 degree weather) to ask someone to cut the zip tie, at which time the original gentleman that assisted me was very helpful. I understand that the mgr was under a lot of pressure and frustrated with other apparent problems on-site, but when I asked her for help the second time, she said curtly. “Just wait, I’m only dealing with 50 things at once right now!” I get that she was stressed, but I found it to be rude and unprofessional, considering my point of view as the customer and my having to go back to the office 3 times just to open the storage unit I rented.

However, despite having the card, entry was denied. Adding to the frustration is the complete lack of support: there's no direct contact number for a brand supervisor or any other representative. The only information I could find online was an automated message recommending calling back at 4 AM Arizona time, which is utterly unreasonable considering I need to drive back. This situation is unacceptable. I paid for a service and am currently being denied access with no explanation or clear path to resolution. I demand immediate assistance and a solution to this problem. This is the second time U-Haul has let me down. Previously, you overcharged me. I have all the receipts where someone changed my order; this time the branch manager was very helpful, but your system denied me entry when I needed it. Bad business U-Haul

He was terminated after 6 months of emotional distress, mental meltdown and hosoitalization for STRESS! I am still suffering from PTSD! I have not ywt filed my claim, due to the condituon of my Mental Health from this Grossly Negligent experience! I have been diagnosed with PTSD, Generalized Anxiety and Depression. I am 65 years old, disabled with no support system here. I have never, ever experienced such unprofessional, negligent Business Conduct in my entire professional Business career! TRAUMATIC!! Healing. I was told they get stolen but that is an inconvenience to your tenants and rather frustrating. Aside from that, this U Haul is the best, very clean, no roach droppings or spiders or dead bugs getting on your stuff. I had this storage for a little over 3 years and I was amazed how clean it is and that was very important to me. I would definitely use them again and all refer them to anyone that needs storage. Took a while to place heavy metal tools on 4 Dollys only to find out the elevators access denied. Got storage online because the staff at facility was going to be gone before we could make it there. Staff forgot to tell us we couldn’t add the 24 access feature to account online. Had to reload the heavy metal back on top the trailer and return the next morning to have feature added and get items into storage. Then I found out they didn’t even have a general manager. The distance from elevator to our storage is about 300 yards. Please consider adding more elevators

I went through the online process, then had to repeat the exact same process at the office. Wasted a lot of my time. Your 3 phone number requirement makes it impossible for folks with only 2 phone numbers: another waste of time. Once at the store your system would not allow me to use the same alternate phone number that I used online. My items are now safely, and easily, stored at CubeSmart. With only 1 phone number required. My required alternate address was not accepted, though I have used it for 10 years for every other company I have done business with. support@uhaul.com link does not work. Waiting time to talk to someone has a 20+ minute wait. Invest in some competent IT people. The counter folks, and the Chat folks online, apologize for your IT incompetence with the comment that they don't know what IT is doing or why, and they feel real bad. None of which helps. Please let corporate in on my dissatisfaction.

Did send notice to my friend before I was notified. Was two days late and charged $15 late fee. Had paid for another month. Good till May 3 but checked out April 14, 2021. Did not get reimbursed my two week over pay. When asked for copies and to sign that I was closed. Told they do not do that. Asked about taking my credit card off files was met with resistance. Was told by phone they had referrals for moving. Called back and was told they did not. Despite the fact that I was Quoted $245 that was extra for putting the bed together. Uhaul gave me a number. They were only the people to move but they did not have a truck. The folks at this facility appear to know nothing. Unable to give correct info. Not able to locate my reservation and horrible with customer relations. This was a nightmare.

After submitting these (I had now been in the cold rain for nearly an hour bc I had an Uber drop me off), I was told that they couldn’t verity my Id or some nonsense which is ridiculous bc there is nothing wrong with my id. I was told I’d need to come back. I wasted over $20 on Uber thanks to this. The next day, I made a new reservation, but when I showed up to pick up the truck, I was told there wasn’t one available, even though I called in ahead of time to make sure. I told the guy I would take any of the sizes since there were many on their lot, I was simply told no. I forget the excuse this time. I have been renting from Uhaul for years and I’ve never had a problem before now. Once again, I was out another $30 for Uber trips. Not only did I lose all the Uber money, but I also missed out on getting the couches that were being given me. I so very disappointed in Uhaul, and I feel under-valued and discriminated against.

On my move out day, 2 days before due date, I advised the lady I was moving out and then days later I receive a notice for payment then late payment. Not to mention that day it took an extra 20 minutes to gain access to my audit because the card didn't work yet again. I had to pay movers for that time. I will never again. And this was my 2nd time using this facility. Last was 2017. The experience then was mediocre, however I decided to give a 2nd chance. Never again. I don't have time to waste.
