1. I was awarded a VIP certificate for $75 because the last time I used U-Haul it was a (excuse my French) shit show. 2. My reservation was not met and I did not receive a courtesy call. I had to arrive at the location for them to tell me that they didn’t have my cargo van. I went to the U-Haul they instructed me to go to for them to still be closed. I then proceeded to another U-Haul location after speaking with “traffic” as it’s called by U-Haul employees to receive a 10 ft box truck after requesting a cargo van. The truck was dirty inside with sand in the seats, straps left in the back, oil in the back, and debris left in the back. On top of all of that the gas hand was on E. If I had time to waste I wouldn’t care but after driving around 1.5 hours I was pressed. The rep told me to bring it back on 1/4 tank for a discount. Upon returning the truck the reps were very professional but had no idea on how to proceed. Nobody ever asked about my certificate number and they had to contact their manager to figure out how to proceed. The manager told them to place the reservation on hold and they would take care of it on Monday. Meanwhile… I still have $90 charge on my card. I am a customer service professional myself and I know that rule number 1 is to not make your problem the customers problem. When I received the voucher for the initial mishap I mentioned I was told it would be treated like cash. Now here we are months later and I’m going through the same thing with U-Haul. If I had known it would be like this I would have rented a truck with Home Depot just to skip over the bs. So now I have a $90 charge holding on my account and a $75 voucher that apparently means nothing. I’m very exhausted and don’t understand what the problem is with getting simply what I was told I would receive. Had I known that I had to give U-Haul 1 dime i would have not even come to your establishment. At this moment I am exhausted and I am tired. I just want this to be over. Pleas can I Be done with this. I will provide my certificate number so my $75 credit can be applied. I was also offered a $15 discount if I returned the truck on 1/4 tank (even though it was on the mark between E and 1/4… please save me! Thanks in advance
KRISTOPHER AThe change OIL light was on an which made it hard to picture if the mileage gauge so I lost some gas after making sure the van was full of gas when I got it And the drop box was not where they said it was in the dark looking for a drop box was not fun !!!!! Call the customer service number and they had no clue but after also 20 minutes later find it .

SHARA DI had a disappointing experience during my recent visit. As someone new to renting a truck, I was unfamiliar with the process and expected some guidance. Unfortunately, Ciara was dismissive and didn’t take the time to explain anything. She simply had me swipe my card and handed me the paperwork once the transaction was complete. Her attitude, along with that of another employee wearing glasses, came off as uninterested and unwelcoming. Neither of them greeted customers or offered any assistance unless absolutely necessary. It felt like they didn’t want to be there and just wanted customers in and out as quickly as possible. When Ciara asked what kind of protection coverage I wanted, I told her I didn’t know what that meant since I was new to the process. Instead of explaining, she just pointed at a paper with the coverage options using her fingers, without giving any real clarification. I was left confused and unsure of what I was selecting. Honestly, I almost walked out and took my business elsewhere due to how unhelpful and dismissive the interaction felt. came in with a positive attitude and no bad intentions, yet I was made to feel like an inconvenience by both employees, simply for walking in. They treated me as if I was a burden rather than a customer. However, there was one woman who seemed to be a manager or supervisor sitting in a separate office—she was kind and actually smiled when speaking to me, which I appreciated.

NAIM EShould have went to budget! They clam when I ordered my truck and trailer over a week in advance. That it was a package deal. Well they fool me when I got to the location to pick up. I had to pay for everything separately so I spent even more money. Didn't offer anything such as insurance, road side assistance, dolly thing in that nature. You would think after spending about two hours on the phone with uhaul twice something would have went right. My trailer tag number was right but the number on the trailer it's self was wrong. So upon returning that it was definitely to the people at return site to figure out. There was more but don't need to continue. I've wasted enough time with uhaul.

JAQUAMBIA RThe truck smelled of cigarettes and had old cigarette butts inside it. It drove horribly and was very puttery and bumpy, causing our belongings to fall over multiple times despite how slow and cautious we drove. The staff just gave us keys and didn’t help us find the truck. When dropping off no one really told us what to do so we just left it parked and gave the keys to someone on the parking lot at another truck.
AMBER WIn an attempt to obtain information regarding price and my thoughts of discrepancies the representative lacked patience and the ability to explain receipt. The calculations did not appear accurate and the charge of fuel was not accurate however because there was another customer that she had checked in the vehicle was not available at my request to take for my own fueling. I have used this location many times and this is the first that I experienced such a dull and not enthused customer service team.

Satierra HI was livid when I tried to extend my reservation for 24 hours because I was in physical pain and uhaul was to charge me an additional $75 for "four additional rental periods" which is OUTRAGEOUS. The fact that I had to spend the better part of a whole day trying to remediate the damage to my antique wood desk due to a leaky trailer is in large part the reason I needed additional time in the first place. I wasn't going to put uhaul on blast for it but it made me very angry. I will happily spend that money on an extra visit to the chiropractor before condoning that BS. I am considering canceling my upcoming reservations and not using uhaul again, which but usually at least 5-10x a year.

Well that did not happen. I will continue to contact them daily if necessary to correct this. Take pictures they are important.

I book 2 hours van and got traffic couldn't come back on time at 10am. The lady worked on that day called me to ask me bring back the van excactly before 11 because she need that van for someone else. I told her how can i bring back if something happens on the road! And i asked can i drop off another location closer than drive all the way back to their location on blanding. She said No. but thank goodness i still can brought the van back at 11:07! I felt so frustrated while driving back because of her attitude! That lady is too much to be understanding and thoughtfulness! For this service i think i can only give them 0 star reviews!

LESTER B | Overall ExperienceStaff in the past were always very rude and not friendly except for the last time I was there to empty the unit. This uhaul location is infested with roaches and rats inside the indoor part where people store your items. The outdoor units have tons of bugs. I have seen both there. They need to be spraying the place for the roaches and place poison out for the rodents. A local Pest Control company could do the job very easily every month to maintain. They make enough money just from one customers large storage rent to pay for Pest Control each month. They have not done anything to make this place any better in many many years. Sad.

They don’t explain process at all, and I had to call the overnight line to figure out how to get in. THEN! We get in literally at 7pm and we walk in and see a 6in RAT stuck to a trap!!!!! It was alive and crawled under one of the storage doors. AND THEN saw a roach crawling on the wall. The place is terrible.

This changed wasn’t told to me until more than a week later. The manager charged my credit card for two months payment plus other expenses that I had no ideals what it were for. Had to called the 1 800 number to get help. Then after that they charge my card again and again. I had to turn off my card to stop charges. Today still trying to get a charge for boxes refunded to me that I did not receive or ordered.

Also the gentleman who manages the Normandy Store was incredible. These 2 men are your saving grace. The Uhaul customer service is horrifying. No one is on the same page, I have know clue how your customer service computers don't interface with the actual stor computers. Information is consistently incorrect. Uhaul caused a lot of challenges and financial loss when my husband I moved to Florida January 2022for my daughter's medical emergency. We reserved a unit on 103rd street from your customer service. When we finished our 14 hour drive with our truck and car hauler the unit not only didn't have storage but they didn't even have the size we ordered on the lot. This store sent us to Normandy after once again Customer service reserved another unit. When we arrived we learned that particular store wasn't even open for bussiness and was still being set up and built. This is important to remember because this store will definitely be referanced again in my complaint. Please know the store Manager was amazing and truly cared about helping us. Your customer service only read from a script and told us we were incorrect and Normandy had our unit available. The insisted we were wrong and all but called us lies. From Normandy we were directed to the Blanding Westside store. They had one unit available but it was too small and not the size we originally reserved when we proactively prepared foe this big move. So feeling defeated we took it unloaded after drive all day and then had to rent another unit with another company just so we could fit our items. Remember my reservation was for you biggest unit but Uhaul never delivered on what they promised. So I was paying an extra 100 a month because Uhauls customer service systems don't jive with the actual store. After this debockal all was well until 3 months later and we get a call from your customer service agent stating we were late on our Normandy unit. If you are following me you know that the Normandy Store was not open for business and we were sent to Blanding Westside. The CS agent insisted we had a unit on Normandy and told us we owed the money and we were wrong because her computer showed we rented it. Pull the call, take a listen, I'm embarrassed for your company for this atrocious interaction. She told my husband we had to pay and he explained everything twice our whole debockal. She still insisted he was wrong and we needed to pay for the unit. Finally after many call backs your customer service agent finally excepted we didn't have a unit. Moving on, I had enough and decided to call and discuss my unsatisfactory service over the last several months. For your information your CS manager was beyond unsympathetic to our challenges. My child had 9 surgeries and contacted gangrene and was on a ventilator in an induced comma. I was a bit emotional. The whole reason we moved is to make sure she had the best care. Uhaul added so much more stress and I felt so defeated from every angle. Your CS Manager did nothing but interrupt me to correct me on my experience because obviously her computer was as correct and how could I possibly be experiancing all these issues. I had to retell the story so many times. All while juggling the children's hospital, and everything else that goes along with moving 800 miles away. Please understand I give credit where credit is due . Your in store managers at all 3bstors were wonderful but your call center agents an management is sub par, disappointing, poorly trained and lacks listening skills, empathy, common courtesy, and the ability to think beyond what the computers tell them. I'd love to talk to someone who actually cares about our overall experience with your company. I hope you are out there. I managed call center supervisors for 18 years and had pride in their ability to give white glove service. You know how that happened? Not by giving away the bank but by listening actively to our customers, reiterating what they understand, taking notes so the customer did not need to repeat themselves, empathy, sincere appreciation for our customers accounts. My teams drove satisfaction by simply being good humans that thought for themselves. They didn't react like programs, zombies or script readers. So call me I want to chat with you. There is no reason your call center service agents are not high quality. Or maybe you don't care, maybe no matter the NPS scores or ESATS don't affect your revenue. What do I know I'm just a number and $ amount to Uhaul. However, if NET promoter scores do matter, I will never recommend Uhaul to my friends or family. You get a 0 or 1. 1 is the lowest. The ceiling of the indoor facility needs to be cleaned often. The roaches were once the issue but the mold is my overall reason for moving out. I could no longer deal with it.

So I don’t have to ever deal with that location again.
