CHRISTOPHER JUhaul scheduling kept trying to change the time and place of my reservation. Eventually got the original time and place, but a different sized truck. Hard to trust that I actually was going to get a truck when I needed it. Stressful and time consuming when I thought I had that piece of the move settled ahead of time. DAVID HHard to get to this location if you are coming south. Nothing can be done about that. Windshield of truck could have been cleaned. Other than that everything was great.
JEFFREY GDear U-Haul Customer Service, I’m writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience I had with my reservation. The U-Haul vehicle I originally requested was not available at the location I selected, and I was redirected to pick it up in Monterey—an hour away from my home. This unexpected change not only added an extra two hours to my day but also cost me approximately $75 in additional fuel expenses between my personal vehicle and the U-Haul itself. While the staff at the Monterey location were courteous and helpful, the inconvenience and added cost made this experience frustrating and stressful. I wanted to share this feedback not to criticize any particular location, but to highlight how changes like this can significantly impact customers' time and budget. I hope U-Haul can consider ways to improve the reservation and vehicle availability system to avoid similar issues in the future.

LINDA RTruck’s exterior was filthy, fuel and mileage was off from what the contract stated (I took all the pre trip photos if you’d like to see for yourself). Nice guy working the desk. I did have an issue upon returning to town, the store I was scheduled to drop the truck off at was supposedly “too full”, despitethat location on McHenry is a massive lot… I specifically use that location because it is within walking distance of my home, the parking lot is too sketchy to leave my vehicle there. Since I unexpectedly had to drive completely across town (a near 30 minute drive in traffic during the middle of the day), I had to put additional fuel in the truck to keep the fuel gauge in the correct position.. then the cost of the Uber was absurd to me as I don’t use these services.. I would love if U-Haul were willing to reimburse a 25+ year frequent customer (I use their trucks for my business at LEAST once a month). U-Haul, reach out if you’d like to do the right thing! :D
RICKY PAlfredo runs a great shop. Clean, efficient vans is great shape and easy to drive. I have referred a friend who has used this location three times and is also quite pleased. R.D.

BRIAN OLocation was impacted by city construction so entrance was awkward but that will be finished soon. The van we rented ran just fine but was filthy. We had to scrub the windows (inside and out) in order to see and the window washer fluid tank was completely empty. Also, our schedule dictated that we return the van after hours and the online checkin system did not work. It required us to take pictures of the fuel gauge and odometer but then the pictures wouldn’t upload. With that said, there was an instruction in the system that said, “Click here if system is not responding,” which I did and it told me the checkin was complete. But it was awkward and frustrating at the end of a very long day!

ANTHONY LEverything was great... except that they didn't have the things I ordered (appliance dolly, utility dolly, and furniture dolly) even though the online system showed that I could order these, but I erroneously believed they would be available. The online sign-up though made the check-out and check-in processes very efficient and smooth.
Edward PDrop off was very easy. Parked the truck and turned over the keys. Receipt was emailed and available in my account.
Joel JQuick and easy. Only needed the van for a couple of hours to move a sofa. Guy was polite and friendly.
DARLEEN SI had a great experience with the employee that checked me in - as well as the other employee that checked me out. They were both helpful and awesome. The Uhaul app was easy to use and I found it helpful. The early arrival experience before the store opened went well - everything worked like it was supposed to. My only suggestion is for the truck to have at least a half tank of gas - I had to go get gas first - then again later to bring the tank up to the level that it had when I picked up the truck - that's it!! KATHLEEN CWe had turned the truck in at 10 o’clock the same day. Drop the key in the dropbox. But the local agent didn’t check it until late in the morning and we are charged for an extra day. This is outrageous.

ALLEN DWe had a reservation with U-Haul for Thursday, December 26 for a 20’ truck and car transport. The cost for this was a little over $600 which is a lot of money for us. We went to go pick up the rental. The location was about an hour drive from us which meant 60+ miles were already used up before we even started. When we finally arrived at the location, right away my husband noticed that there was no car transport in the lot. It turned out that neither the truck or transport were there. The person who had rented the truck we had reserved decided to keep it another day. Okay, that’s fine but I would think U-Haul would have a plan for situations like this. My husband talked to someone who said she was ‘actively looking’ for another truck but wouldn’t know anything until the other locations opened at 9am and she would call us back. So we had to wait around for another hour and a half. Time we should have been using to load up the truck. When we called her back @9:30am (yes, we had to call her), she again said she was ‘actively looking.’ When she finally found a truck, it was only a 15’ truck and the car transport was an hour away in Salinas, CA which was again an hour away, and we would be the ones picking it up (using up miles) or we could drive 2 hours away to get a 26’ truck and transport. A total of 4 hours plus miles and fuel for our car and the 26’ truck. It was also suggested that we could get 2 10’ trucks. How would that be possible when there is only 2 of us plus our 2 vehicles?? At approx. 11:30am, we finally settled for a 15’ truck without the car transport because we had to start packing and get on the road. My point after all this venting is that we reserved a 20’ truck with a car transport for a reason and expected to get what we had reserved. Now, we have to reserve another 15’ truck AND car transport to get the rest of our stuff that we had to leave due to it not fitting the first time which is going to be ANOTHER $600 plus fuel. The so-called discount that was given was nothing. It barely put a dent into the cost. It would’ve been the same amount if we were able to get the 20’ truck and transport so where’s the discount? Some people may be able to afford this but we are on a budget. This is an expense that we were not expecting and shouldn’t have had to expect it, plus the stress and anxiety that my husband and I are going through. I think, since none of this was our fault, we shouldn’t have to pay another $600 for something that we had no control over. U-Haul is a large company and I believe they should have some kind of backup plan for situations like this.
