Make sure you don't try to fool someone in thinking a 20 ft truck and 6 ft trailer is equivalent to a 26 ft truck. The square footage is not the same, just because 20 +6 equals 26. The height and width needs to be factored in. And the trailer are a hazard if you have to pick it off the ball hitch with your own strength due to trailers not having a crank lift. Ridiculous. I was at the UHaul store for almost 2 hours trying to get into a truck. Worst experience.

The location was fine once I went there, but calling customer service to locate my U-Box was a nightmare. We were told that our stuff was guaranteed by the 13th and not only did it not show up till the 15th, customer service was very unhelpful in locating and contacting me about it. I was told several times the box would be delivered before a certain time and I would be contacted once it was. I was never contacted and the few times I spoke to someone I was given incorrect information.

This location was a last minute fall back. My original location was the Sand City Tioga Ave rental location. The woman I met there was beyond rude. Locked the gate as I stood there and told me "There's your truck, checkout online. I couldn't access my truck and wasted 1 1/2 hrs. She wouldn't answer the phone to help me. If I was her boss, I'd fire her. She should NOT be representing Uhaul. She's one of the worst people I've ever had to deal with. Don't ever rent Uhaul in Sand City.

Pick up was an immense CLUSTER! I was called a day before pickup that a 15' van was unavailable at this site (2330 Del Monte,CA) and was rescheduled to site on 1118 Airport Road Monterey, CA. I prepaid and registered for EXPRESS PICKUP at 7am sevral hours before pickup. We arrived at 1118 Airport Road site just before 1 pm (scheduled pickup time) No one there. Sign in window says RETURN at 2 PM. When 2 attendants arrived they said there was no 15' van available at their location. Took 20 minutes for Uhaul attendant to contact TRAFFIC and tell us to go to another location to pick up 15' van. The 1118 Airport Drive Uhaul attendant gave me wrong address TWICE(509 Del Monte and 590 Del Monte Ave) to U-haul pick up point. Finally we called national Uhaul number to get correct address. We arrived at the Uhaul site on 2330 Del Monte Ave.Monterey (this was where I originally scheduled pick up several days ago. I went to counter where two attendants were stationed, one with a customer one was counting coins for a cash box. I went to the register where the attendant was counting coins. He said he would be with me in a minute. HE TOOK +10 MINUTES TO COUNT HIS COINS. Then put the coins in a desk and then finally assisted me. He said I owed an extra $3.37 on my reservation but could not explain why. I gave him a $5 bill. He said it would be too much trouble for him to give me change. Remember he just made me wait +10 minutes to watch him sort change for a cash box. So I gave him my credit card that has already been billed $404.04 earlier this day so I could EXPRESS CHECK OUT. The 15' truck was clean and furniture pads added. The whole process to EXPRESS PICK UP took me +TWO HOURS!!!!!! I can never recommend these Monterey, CA locations to anyone. Their service was poor and seemed they wanted to aggravate customers with different skin color than themselves?????? I highly suggest diversity training for both locations.

Only thing is (no fault of this location) is that I returned vehicle inside of 4 hours but was charged for entire day. I was advised this would be the case but seems like if one makes an attempt during busy times to do so, some compensation could be made?

The gal that checked in the trailer was less than helpful. She left as we were unloading the vehicle and felt like we had to disconnect the trailer ourself. She then said she couldn't check it in under a split contract even though we rented it that way. Surprisingly we got a check in the next day even though the truck was still checked out.

I tried to call this office over five time to ask for help & to tell them I would be returning the trailer late & each time my call was routed to your central office. Finally, the day after my return date, a very rude woman called me to press about the return - she offered me absolutely NO help. Then I was told that I would need to pay a fee of $10 per day per late day & when I returned the trailer 2 days late was told that the fee was $20 per day & the total feeI owed was $57. I did not pay this fee & asked that someone from UHaul call me regarding this extra fee. Next time I'll call Penske.
