oscar cAbsolute joke dealing with U-Haul and their deceptive trade practices. I rented a pickup & trailer from 9:30am - 8pm Saturday (9/27). I specifically rented this because of height restrictions at BOTH my departure location and my arrival location. When I arrived to pickup the truck and trailer at 11am I was informed the truck (which was parked outside) was never available and should not have been available for rent. The desk attendant then informed me that I had no recourse due to being late to pickup the truck, despite this not changing my rental return time. I was not contacted prior to spending nearly $50 ubering to the location, the only location with such vehicle available in the Austin area. In essence, U-Haul took my credit card for an 11 hour rental, and when I neglected to use the first 90 minutes of this rental, they felt that excused their breach of my rental contract. Absurd. More absurd? That two renters can rent the same vehicle and preference is given to the individual not present. I suspect the other rental was more lucrative, good for U-Haul. I informed the attendant that the box truck she offered in exchange, a materially different rental, would require at minimum twice as much time, due to having to carry items nearly two blocks and being materially smaller. Later, when I called U-Haul support, they stated the pickup at that location was marked as available, but upon calling the location, stated this appeared to again be a mistake. Support then informed me my inability to rent the truck was due to being late to pickup it up, despite that pickup being during my rental period, and despite the clerical stocking error still occurring at present. U-Haul clearly has inventory issues, U-Haul clearly prefers to frame those issues as somehow my responsibility if I choose to pickup inventory at a time other than the exact beginning of the rental period. I suspect U-Haul has a financial incentive in choosing one renter over another. As a result I suspect U-Haul will attempt to collect funds from the additional two days I was forced to spend using the truck, as I had stated in advance. I suspect U-Haul is not prepared to reimburse me for my time and transportation expenses as a result of their breach, but I’m more than willing to have such a conversation. Maxwell LTHE TRAILER WAS HOOKED UP INCORRECTLY AND IT CUT THE WIRES AND EVENTUALLY THE TRAILER FELL OFF THE BACK OF MY TRUCK CAUSE THE PERSON INSTALLING IT FAILED TO CHECK ALL THE PINS! Worst experience ever.

I was not asked if I needed a lock and the store had already close, also I asked about the drop off as after hours and was not provided with details about operating the vehicle and applying gas. I would not use this location again.

CHANTAL HPick-up was easy but the truck had limited gasoline and needed filling immediately. I was reimbursed for gasoline.

Brandon FThe only hiccup was that the app told me to return the key to the drop box upon returning the uhaul, but this location didn't have one, spent a bit of time running around looking for the right spot but the employee at the desk ended up taking it for me. Instructions on returning the key could have been more clear. Other than that things went well.

LANCE WThree young ladies worked hard to meet the needs of their customers. Check in process took little longer than expected, mostly to customers not familiar with Uhaul procedures. Once attended to, process and hook up went very smoothly and quickly.
OSCAR PThe staff was very nice. The Uhaul had a huge hole in the roof, so thank goodness it wasn't raining.

Joao NWe were not told a mile limit of only 200 miles was on the contract and we had to drive from uhaul location, to a storage unit and to the deceased persons home all the way back to Vidor, tx. Of course that would go over 300 miles. Will never rent from uhaul again and I will post on social media
