My life partner had an emergency surgery in Austin while on a business trip. He drove, I drove to Austin to be with him. We had two vehicles that needed to get back to Houston. One being a Dodge Ram 1500 and towing a Mustang. No issues with towing. U HAUL EMPLOYEES REFUSED TO ASSIST GETTING THE TOW HITCH HOOKED UP!! After a very long time, another drop off customer helped me get the hitch on and my car on. THANK YOU RANDOM GUY, named Rich. You were my savior, U HAUL WAS NOT!

This location is not what I requested on line when I arrived at the location I requested on line I was then notified my reservation had been moved to another location I will remember this before I make another reservation with uhaul
CHENITA EBoth employees I dealt with were courteous and efficient. The equipment was prepared for my arrival. The return was quick and easy. All around good service.
JOSEPH WThe people at U-Haul were very helpful but the equipment was not maintained properly. I reserved a car dolly at Slaughter Lane and the one available had a nonfunctional light. The people helped me get one from North Lamar (great help there as well) but that one also malfunctioned during the trip. Good people, bad processes to keep the equipment in good working order. U-Haul needs a good competitive challenger to make them step up their performance.
STEVEN FToni was wonderful. I discovered a very flat tire on my way to pick up the trailer I had reserved, and Toni was able to be a little flexible with my pick up time. The nature of what I had to take care of was already pretty stressful, and I appreciate her kindness and professionalism.

ANTHONY HTeamwork. There were 3 staff while we were there. 1 was outside completing the reservation with hooking up or dismantling the equipment; one was at the desk helping at this time a line of 4 different reservations, the 3rd staff sat at the front counter looking into a computer screen with no eye contact nor a greeting to any of the 7 customers waiting. If this is a leader or trainer, it is wise to keep said person in an office. The perception does not look great on the team nor company. Brittani was wonderful multitasking.
Jenni TI have used the North Lamar location several times. They are always so helpful. The manager, Brittani is so helpful and pleasant to work with. We also worked with Robert. He was very nice and helpful. This location is always very busy. They are always working to make it a pleasant experience.
Martha SI wish the trailer I had rented would have been at the same location as the truck I rented. I wish the truck I rented, which turned out to have trailer bolts stuck in the tires, could have been swapped out at this location for a new truck (which was on the lot and readily available). Both at check in and check out the clerk could not find my rental agreement.

JANICE MRude costumer service. I was accused of smoking weed in the vehicle. I dropped the vehicle off and the guy immediately checked it. I get a call an hour later stating that I smoked in the vehicle. I don’t smoke. Tryna to scam me out of my money. I would not recommend this location to anyone
CHIMERE WThere is zero customer service from the employee who retrieves the cars dropping off. Was annoyed, sitting in a truck texting while I’m waiting in the dock to return my car…then asks what I’m doing…when there’s signs everywhere saying this is how you drop off. No hello, no hi how may I help you. Just “I don’t have you on my list here”….it doesn’t matter you can drop off a U-Haul at any location and simply because the truck I reserved somehow wasn’t there I had to get a bigger one and still haven’t been reimbursed. There is zero professionalism there and the truck smelled like dog per and hadn’t been washed in ages. The brakes barely worked as well.

I had to chase the front desk person to ask quetions about my payment to explain me things . They didn’t wanted to help me . They acted like if the were making me a fovorite .

VANCE HEverything usually runs quite smoothly with U-Haul, but special shout out to Brittani, at this location, because she went above and beyond to help manage my needs and assist in finding a solution to save me a ton of extra hassle and money. When you have customer service representatives like her, you create life long loyal customers.
COURTNEY MFriendly customer service, was in an out with my vehicle in under 15 minutes, and although I didn't need packing items, the store was well-stocked with just about anything you would need to move.

David CI dropped off the truck with the same level of fuel as when I picked it up. When the final receipt came through, I was charged $50 for 6 gallons of fuel. I called and explained that this was an error. An employee - perhaps Antonia D, who said she photographed the gas gauge - said that I was wrong and that her manager would have to check tomorrow. She was quite rude throughout the entire process. I did call back the next day to explain the situation. Whoever I talked to was not familiar with the situation, so I presume the rude employee did not actually follow up on her error. The second employee was quite helpful and processed a refund immediately. There are a million U-Haul facilities around Austin. I will just go to another one next time. No use in dealing with excessively negative people who don’t understand the concept of customer service.
KYLE Amy bookings were cancelled multiple times. one when I was there, even when I had called a day before to confirm. they didn't want to take my license first, then didn't want to let me use soft copy passport (which they informed on call I wouldn't need in first place). then 2 other times I booked, and they kept cancelling the order, even after calling multiple times and going through agents, stating it would work with my passport visa and DL. the entire day I was figuring this out, as had deliveries planned... since morning 10am pickup to finally making it work by 430pm! and still charged fully!! no remorse for the actions.

ERNEST CI think the way you charge so much up front after the initial quote of 28.85 is very misleading and confusing. Charging for 250 miles plus charging the day rate to 90 bucks because of the overage is just dishonest. It’s misleading to quote a price and then not honor the price you quoted. Nit sure how you get away with that. Even though the amount was adjusted I just felt it was unfair and wrong to not clearly state your intention to raise the rate before someone shows up to rent.

MICHEL BClean the windshield inside and out. Hard to see out of the windshield with oncoming lights or sun. Fill the gas tank. It was at less than a quarter tank. I put in $50 worth of gas and used maybe $10 or $15 of that. Got no credit for the extra gas I put in. Tow/Haul mode came on every time I started the truck and shifted into drive. I think the button is damaged and the lightest touch sends into Tow/Haul mode. Took me a while to figure out how to turn it off. Interior light was on all the time because the adjustable interior lights level was turned up to the point that the interior lights were always on. I rolled it back just a hair to make the interior light go off. Otherwise may run down the battery. I adjusted the side-view mirrors since they were pointed at the sides of the truck instead of into the adjacent lanes.

Austin FI just want to give a shout out to Brianna and Milton; they were very courteous and professional. They gave me the impression that they enjoyed assisting me with my U-Haul needs. When I returned the truck Milton explained the charged, when I left, I was satisfied with the outcome. I will refer everyone I know in the area of the N Lamar area who need to rent a truck or moving supplies to this U-Haul. Thank you all for being so awesome!
