Jacob was extremely helpful. After a delay in the arrival of the hitch and me showing up for my original appointment, Jacob handled the situation very professionally letting me know that we would need to reschedule and being very apologetic that no one let me know beforehand. What could’ve been a really bad experience was salvaged by Jacob’s efforts. Great customer service and a job well done by Jacob
Madeleine WI am not one to review anything but my experience at this location was completely unacceptable. I was attempting to return my truck when I was flagged down and accosted by over 10 men speaking Spanish and attempting to enter my rental truck. I yelled at them to get out but they continued to enter the vehicle including one man sitting in my passenger seat before I made it verbally clear that he had to exit in no uncertain terms. The employees present were unmoved by this and simply sent me on my way saying that this is typical of Alexandria and not common where I was coming from. If anyone attempts to return a truck to this location I implore them to not stop for the posse flagging them down. I understand these men are attempting to find work but U-haul allowing this type of predatory and aggressive behavior at their lot is disappointing and for people of weaker constitution could result in a dangerous situation. This is more of a warning than a review- avoid this location. These men also attempted to enter my personal vehicle driven by my father parked in an adjacent lot. U-Haul seems like they take this lightly. This is not the experience I expected from them.
Griffin EThe staff was great but the experience stunk. I did Mobile pick up hoping it would be an easier process and I still waited 45 minutes because they had to verify my identity. You give your ID and still they needed to call 2 people to verify I was the person. After that, I requested and paid for 2 dolly’s and packing mats and they were no where to be found. The truck was a mess as well

Steven GYour app failed. It couldn't determine my location, even after I double-checked the app permissions and made sure. The toll free help number was also useless, as the phone connection was so spotty I could only hear every other word and static. Fortunately the people at the location were helpful. You need them because your remote access stuff is a complete failure, utterly useless trash.

Willes LOnce I got through the long line of other customers, Customer service from the employees was good. There was a reported problem with the computer system where the price I paid wound up being higher than quote from my online reservation. This is dumb and U-Haul should do better. U-Haul should have operational computer equipment and sufficient staff on a shift to address customers in reasonable times.
Matthew KCab of vehicle smelled like marijuana. Nothing the location crew could do about it and I don’t blame them. The truck also only had less than 1/4 tank of gas when I picked it up.

Marek PStaff was very friendly and helpful. Front desk was amazing, and double checked that you would like to still include any of the extras that often accidentally get selected in the online checkout process. Pickup and dropoff was the easiest I've experienced in the DMV area with a dedicated pickup/dropoff lane (which also removed the worst part of renting for me – trying to park the truck in those truck lanes). Lines can get long inside, but staff was great and moved as quickly as possible. I recommend doing as much of the paperwork online beforehand to help make it easier for everyone and get in/out of the line quickly.

CESAR AOnly 1 employee was working on Saturday morning. There were over 10 people waiting in line to get their vehicles which took over 30 minutes. This significantly and negatively affected my moving process.

adiam nThe attendants could be a little more kind. I was disturbed when I handed the employee my license in his hand and then he placed it on the counter when I had my hand out. The same incident occurred with the key for the rental truck. I get it everyone doesn’t like touching hands and with us just getting over a global pandemic it can be a lot, however, if I’m holding my hand in front of you just drop the key or identification in my hand. I was also disappointed with the lack of interaction when I went to return the truck. He just shouted out “leave the key in the seat and you’ll get your final receipt”. Customer service is a dying art sadly.
