DONNA HThe counter people were adamant that a customer must have a smartphone to complete a reserved trailer. They displayed a poor attitude, left to “speak with their manager” and refused to complete the paperwork. A different counter person became aware of the issue and stepped in to complete the transaction. This has occurred previously, with insistence that a customer use text message and internet prompts to transact business when a smartphone is not a requirement to use U-Haul equipment.
JOHN IUnderstaffed. Store even left unattended because of attendant required to go do "propane." Chaos of outgoing and return equipment. Long wait; Best lication: Tacoma, WA 12th&L st. Stellar staff.
Lyse QFront desk people are not good. Stood there for about 5 minutes thinking the woman at her computer was actually doing something work related but she never even looked up until I let her know I was there to pick up a truck I had reserved. Then when I finally got through the “paperwork” (all on the phone now) she sent me to the wrong truck. My truck was at the complete other end of the lot which I didn’t know until I went back in and asked the other woman working the desk where it might be. Anyway got my truck and all worked out, just disappointing walk up greeting and customer service like they pretty much don’t care you are there.

ZACHARY ZAmazing Service and Great Vibes! Had a great experience with this U-Haul location. The staff was well-trained and brought nothing but good vibes. I did run into a minor issue with the vehicle while on the road—nothing anyone could’ve predicted. I called the location and spoke with Brodee (I believe he’s the manager), and he immediately took care of it. He got me back on the road quickly and with no hassle. What really stood out was that even after I was back on the road, Brodee called to follow up and make sure everything was going smoothly. Now that is customer care—my own lady didn’t even call to check in on me! 😄 Thanks again! You guys definitely earned my business in the future.

ANDREA LFive Stars Every Week! I rent five cargo vans every week from Concord U-Haul for my catering business, and the experience has been nothing short of excellent every single time. The vans are always in top-notch condition — clean, well-maintained, and ready to go. The staff is what really makes the difference. Huge shoutout to Nataly, Monica, David, and of course Brodee, the manager, who runs a seriously well-oiled machine. From the smooth check-in process to the person outside helping fill my propane tanks — it’s clear this team takes pride in what they do. Thank you for always making my weekly pickups a breeze. KYLE BLine for returning the U-Haul were out of the property onto the street. Nobody directing or helping. Lines were long, but when you did reach an employee they were kind and helpful.
JONAH HCustomer service is horrible. Everyone looks like they don’t want to be there. They all clearly need training. Especially the young man that attended me. Very monotone voice. Almost as if he was annoyed that he has to work. When I went to return my vehicle, no one was at the front desk. Every single one of the employees was out back talking to each other . Mind you there were 2 people waiting when I got there. I was trying to hand the keys off to an employee but I waited 15 minutes and I had to leave. So I left it in the drop box. From what I’ve seen and heard, the Concord location on Monument Blvd is horrendous. There needs to be a serious overhaul on customer service methods . Unless the manager/owner/ corporate doesn’t give a damn since they’re riding on the coattails of the brand name.

ARMANDO GI got charged 48 dollars for equipment I was not issued but somehow that was not the worst part of having to use this location. I made two truck rentals during the same week. Both times I visited the location I was surprised at how awful the customer service was. I would stand in line on both occasions for 3 plus minutes being ignored by the staff while they talked or used their phones. Everyone's customer service was horrible, and they all seemed annoyed having to assist me with checking out. By far the worst Uhual I've been to. Staff needs to do much better.
KHALIL LThe oil filter was loose and upon arriving at my house to start loading, all of the engine oil poured out onto the street. This costs me almost a half a day waiting for the remote technician to arrive and make repairs.

MURTAZA ZBad experience at this location as they didn't honor the pre-arranged order agreement. Not my fault the system gave me special pricing on a one-way rental when I originally made the order. I even confirmed with the headquarters to make sure it was the right one way pricing several weeks before pick up and they confirmed what I was seeing on my confirmed order was accurate. Then local staff would not give me that price and wanted over $200 extra. I was forced to change my moving plans to round trip even though I needed one-way. That made our move very difficult. We will not use that location again. I have always had good service at other uhauls before.

ERNEST CI was a drop in customer and was helped right away. Originally a large trailer was hooked up to my car but a smaller trailer becomes available. The staff accommodated me and actually saved me some money
WILLIAM VCounter help seemed disinterested…the posted sign for return of equipment said to wait by the vehicle but after 15 minutes no one came. And the counter person said to leave the keys.

HENRY FI wasnt aware if your ordering online and need to refund, you have to deal with customer service rep online as well. The Customer Service people in person one of the guys was very rude. His name is Daniel. I didn't appreciate how he was talking to me.
DIANE TRented a 10' truck for a day to move items to storage. The price for daily use ($19.95) was terrific. $1.19 per mile, is steep, but we only drove a total of 25, so it was okay. The truck was clean inside and out. They marked the amount of gas correctly and we only put in enough to get it back to where we started out. They were busy (Tuesday) so it took awhile to check-in and to check-out, but it all went smoothly. They have a lot of items to buy to help with a move. We purchased a couple pairs of gloves that were reasonably priced. We had a good, no hassle experience.

Christopher CThe rating is for Pittsburg -- CONCORD was excellent! But this matter needs attention!!! I had originally booked with Pittsburg (Bliss Road) location and they were HORRIBLE!!!! They closed a lot earlier than they have posted therefore I couldn't get access to my truck. I showed up at 11:40 am and they close at 12 PM on Saturdays. I didn't select self-checkout therefore I was stuck and stranded without any warning that no would be at this location. There were a couple of people before me that were trying to return their trucks claiming they had showed up 20 and 30 mins prior to me and NO ONE WAS THERE. This is poor customer experience and unprofessional to close shop before posted hours of operation. It was a long weekend and apparently every truck was rented, luckily we got the last one, ONLY because someone had just returned it.
Norma GService is horrible! They told me to wait in the trailer pick up spot for someone to hook up my trailer. No one showed up. I went back to the office three times and they kept saying someone will come and no one ever came. Finally, I demanded to have someone come hook up the trailer and then the front desk person came to do it. And was not nice about it. Then later in the day after returning the trailer, I got a call saying I returned the wrong trailer. What does that mean? I only rented one trailer. The person who hooked it up hooked up the wrong trailer. They end up getting it straightened out. But they are a real mess over there!

Even though I had paid in advance for packing blankets, they didn’t have any available and the person who finally helped me didn’t seem to know how to refund that charge. All in all, very disappointing.

ALEX NCharged for 16 fee for no reason when delivered clean with all rented items in trunk. Also filled gas more than what I received. The staff just said park it, we’ll take care of it instead of explaining why I was charged this. Illegals camped in front asking for work.

JESUS CTo U-Haul , I commented on the Condition of the Cargo Van that I RENTED. It was a " pitiful sight ! " When I saw the dirty , muddy , with bird poop on the windows VAN in the U-haul yard . I rented anyway because I needed it at that Time to Use . The VAN inside looked as if the previous USER of the VAN spilled a box of " Tide detergent " on the Rubber Floor mat . I washed the Van at a CHARITY CAR Wash , and cleaned up the mess inside . ALL 4 Tires on the Cargo Van were dangerously low ( Left front 35 PSI , RF 45 PSI , Both back tires were at : 50 PSI ; That's 30 under PSI ) SO I filled -up the TIRES ! THese Actions all took EXTRA time and COST MONEY . I' M REQUESTING A REFUND OF SOME TYPE for these Actions that I performed , being the fact that in most CASES the RENTER doesn't have to CLEAN UP THE VEHICAL to THAT EXTENT !! U-HAUL SHOULD REIMBURSE ME SOME OF THE MONEY BACK . Michael Tuohey / 620 N. 2nd. Street /. Dixon , CA 95620. EQUIPMENT : BE 2955L. Rental Date: 8-1-2025. MATTHEW PSome confusion over the telephone between your two Concord CA locations. The larger yard on Monument opens at 7, but pickup trucks are on Detroit which opens at 10. Operator answers both location, but represents them as the same. Methinks Detroit is struggling. Monument staff good.
DAVID HAll of the male staff members are not friendly or welcoming at all. On multiple occasions, my family members and I have experienced it. One was constantly on his cell phone and neither person was able to smile and say hello. I will be taking my business to Penske next time.
NATHAN RJust make sure you confirm reservations, parts availability with a person. Don’t depend on automated systems to work well. Staff there was friendly, efficient, and helpful. Thanks!
