Jaimie T.First of all, I had reserved a 20' truck at one location weeks ahead, only to be told days before pickup that no 20' was available and that I would have to go to a different location for my truck and that location would not be open until 10 am. When I went to that new location (Chicago Station), I was told they did not have a 20' truck as it was stolen the day before. They claimed to have informed U-Haul but no one told me. I called U-Haul and was put on hold for 45 minutes. I was able to find another location open (Christmas Eve) which is the one listed above. They did not have a 20' but only a 15' which had 106,000 miles and was not clean. Given the holiday weekend I took the smaller truck although it didn't fit my needs.

Gene R.Been using Uhaul for years and this was a miss for y'all. Got the vehicle with “1/4 tank†which turned out to be less. After 43 miles and returning early the attendant berated me for not fueling up and that it was on “empty.†He went to double check after realizing I went only 43 miles on the tank you started me with and realized he was wrong only after I questioned him and showed him the time stamps (that I would use in court) from my phone. Sorry gang, this was a lawsuit ready for the books. Piss poor lazy employees leaving vehicles on empty. Do better!

THOMAS T.They took a photo of my id/drivers license to rent a pickup. How do I know that that photo will be deleted and not be sitting on some server somewhere waiting for the next hack to steal my identity or worse someone at that facility doing the same ? I very much makes me NOT want to rent from you again .. that is a grievous personal security issue. So if this is common practice you need a better procedure and I am not even sure it is legal for you to retain that info after the transaction is complete, i.e. the vehicle is returned etc. . You very much DO NOT have my permission to keep that photo .
David M.Please encourage employees to behave ethically. During the return process, I accidentally left behind personal property when clearing out the truck rental. I called the office and was informed that my property was no longer there. This isn't something I'll make a fuss about - I understand it was my responsibility to account for my personal property. Regardless, it is disappointing to know that the Uhaul employee who came across my property decided to keep it as their own rather than set it aside for my retrieval. Uhaul management may want to check video footage from this location to identify the Uhaul employee who saw fit to take customer property as their own. Keep in mind that employees who struggle with ethics and steal from customers are predisposed to stealing from their employer as well. It's so often the little things like this which really contribute to whether or not a customer engages in future business with an organization.

Ronald S.My truck was full of debris, and cerial everywhere, but the biggest issue was that the door was jammed, hard as hell to open and close towards the bottom. Another thing is, if i opted out of using a dolly and furniture pads, dont put them in the truck and waste my usable space.

Peter C.Here for a hitch install. Location was very flexible with scheduling and friendly, helpful, and informative both over the phone and in the shop. The install was speedy! The shop was tidy and they did have a few folding chairs but I walked up a quiet backroad to Happy's for breakfast and a more comfortable (and caffeinated) wait. Note for those hoping to tow! Call the location well in advance to add tow lighting wiring to your order! I was disappointed that Class III hitch installation does not automatically include tow lighting wiring. The U-Haul website should be more clear when placing an order that wiring is not included - and provide an obvious option for adding it to the reservation. I wish the hitch installer would have checked in about whether I wanted wiring so it could have been special-ordered in time.
Therese D.We rented a car trailer for one day. Picking it up my new truck door got dented up. The trailers were packed so tight together you couldn't get out of your truck to help hook up. Then we were on our way back home and I called that we were going to be about an hour and a half late dropping it off. The said that they would charge me for another days rental fee. I asked if they would work with me and just charge me for 1/4 or 1/2 day. They said nope our computer won't let us do that. So I said ok I'll just take my time and bring it back tomorrow around 3:30pm. If your going to charge me for a full day I wasn't going to rush back. The said you cant do that we need the trailer back right now because its already rented out again for 7am. I replied so your going to charge me an extra full day when I don't even have the trailer and charge the next guy. Go back and review your recordings about our conversation. I called the shop that friday around 1:30pm. If thats how your company treats your clients, to me its pretty poor business. Not to mention the trailer was all beat up, oil and grease all over it and the tie down straps were all cut up. Don't believe me, take a look at the trailer yourself.
