I used the app for faster service but was unable to check in using it so entered the store. Upon arrival no one was at the counter or on the grounds. When I called the number like the app suggested the phone rang at the counter we were waiting at, no one came to answer the phone. We waited about 5 more minutes and then knocked on the EMPLOYEES ONLY door and the door was opened immediately. 2 employees came out: a man, and a woman who had 2 bags of fast food in her hands. The man said he'd be with me in a minute and went into the bathroom; returning a few minutes later he began to help us. He was very helpful but seemed to be confused about the app. Another customer came in at that point and the lady employee looked at him (still with the bags of fast food in her hands) and said he'll help you in a moment and walked away entering an employee only double door entrance. The man that was helping us finished up, got us out to the trailer, hooked us up. He was very knowledgeable. I felt bad for the person who had to wait the entire time to be helped.

The lady at the desk was less than pleasant and acted like she was annoyed by my questions and me renting a truck. I am not used to Uhaul and wanted to make sure I got everything right. Usually, when I rent heavy equipment, I am offered a walk-through and additional support. After I left, I called and asked about the text for pre-photos as I didn't answer it before I left. She simply stated "you left it's too late" and then I asked if it causes my insurance to drop, etc, and she simply stated "you have your contract." The renter should be escorted to take photos or something different. I don't need excellent customer service, but I expect a more friendly attitude. The location is ideal for me, but this lady was not too pleasant or helpful. In addition, I haul with a full size truck and 20' trailer fairly often. Where this rental was placed, I had to do a multi-point turn to get it out (less than convenient). I could not have taken pre-photos where the truck was parked anyhow and if I pick it up from the location, shouldn't the pre photos already exist as post photos or photos taken from Uhaul? This process could be improved. Today, when I dropped the truck off, there was a gentleman who had a truck that had a low-tire pressure light and he had to wait again in line to get a different truck which was not my issue, but made me question if the trucks are checked thoroughly.

The lady overseeing the return of the trailer we rented was extremely rude!

Van had several problems. It wouldn't shift into park easily. Passenger side door wouldn't close unless it was slammed. The transmission 3/2 downshift slammed hard. I was giving the rental, 19.95, amount as compensation. Not going into park easily is a huge red flag. https://uhaul.com/s/B4D480728B

The trailer rental experience was great. I reserved online the morning of the rental and the pickup was stress free. The return was also stress free, even though the return was right at closing time. The employ was glad to assist with my return and stated that I was all set and that he would be emailing my receipt to me. I received the receipt a little later and the rental was complete. Great job guys.

Casey helped us get the tow dolly going and was super helpful and wonderful to chat with. I also appreciated how Casey and another employee said "God Bless" we have way too much vitriol in our society so it was so welcome to hear kindness being spread. Keep up the good work.

Truck needed some suspension TLC and a wheel alignment. The customer service reps at the location were very friendly and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend.

It’s not a problem with this location, but when I used the app for return, it glitched during upload of equipment photos. Happened the same way a week earlier when returning to a different location.

They were nice and handled the job. I had booked at another dealer that cancelled me at the last minute and left me traveling further and kept my crew waiting. This location was a bit slow but I was also impatient because of the situation.

The woman working there could benefit from some customer service lessons. She was not very polite & was rude to the male who was working to help us. After we left, we realized the floor inside the truck was sticky so we had extra clean up to do so we would not be charged for that.

Truck was parked deep under trees and something liquid was floating in the cup holder. I couldn’t open the driver door or close it without tree branches getting caught. Other than that it was a great experience at this location. Very friendly workers

I purchased moving blankets which were not provided during check in. There should be a separate desk for those who have e checked in via mobile. I waited an extra 30-40 minutes and wasn’t able to complete my full move as a result. When returning the vehicle there was a backlog of returns which forced me onto a dangerous position on grand river with the 26’ truck I rented. I fortunately navigated the situation but it would have easily turned into an issue. Completely avoidable and frustrating. The people there were nice though.

Customer service was excellent. I encountered a problem caused by another location, and they fixed it promptly. Kenyon, the manager came to the location personally on his off time to make sure the issue was resolved. His employee Katal was very helpful in getting the situation resolved. Staff was very friendly and prompt in their service.

Another great Uhaul rental. The more you rent - the better it gets. Find a location - make it your 'go-to-location'....and I assure you they become like family. Farmington Hills is mine.

I've visited this location a few times now, and it is definitely "hit or miss" in terms of customer service. My most recent visit, on July 20th, was not the best and is why I would rate this place just Average or 3/5 stars. When I arrived around 1:30 pm, I waited about 10 minutes in the lobby/desk area before anybody showed up. I even tried calling the store specifically for assistance about 5 minutes into my wait, only to receive no answer. I could also hear the phone ring at the front desk, as I was hoping that my call would ring someone else in another part of the building or outside for help. After about 5 minutes, another customer arrived and asked if anyone was helping me, to which I replied I had been waiting for 5 minutes with no one helping me. He proceeded to look around the lobby area and then went outside to find someone. After a total of 10 minutes waiting, Mark (owner) walked in. At no point during my checkout process did he ask if I was waiting long, apologized for my wait, or mention anything about being short staffed (why I assumed I was waiting for so long). Additionally, at no point either did he thank me for my business or for my patience. He seemed more annoyed that I was there than anything else. Lastly, during my checkout a third customer arrived to drop off their truck and appeared angry, gave Mark their key, and just left. Overall, each time I have visited this store, the customer service has been lacking. Even though it is right around the corner from my home, I will go out of my to go to another U Haul location.

if the tire pressure sensors on the truck are not functional, then this information would have been helpful. I stopped twice to see if tires were low, a third time at gas station to buy $2 of air and find all tires were filled up. Tooks some side streets which added miles, that I also paid extra for. Not a very good customer experience...

There was a hole in “mom’s attic” that had let rain in so when I opened the back of the truck for the first time there was water all over the floor and “mom’s attic.” The drivers side door didn’t close all the way because there’s something wrong with it.

The deck of the 6 x 12 trailers, as I have noticed, seem to be getting weak. It's more then likely due to age, but it might be worth checking out.

Initially, my rental was not available at the location that I asked for (even though the reservation was made and confirmed). I was able to drive to this location and get a vehicle, but I had to cancel the reservation and make a new one. The clerk was not able to find a key to the first three trucks that I was given. Finally, I was given a truck with only 20 miles of gas, which didn’t seem like normal operation. When I asked how much it would be to have them pay for gas as opposed to me returning it with 20 miles worth of gas, the clerk said he did t know and was unable to find the answer. The truck preformed fine, but the process of getting it was less than ideal.

I had to call so many times just to get my U-box to the right location. I talked to so many traffic control customer representatives who gave me different information on each call, which was beyond frustrating. The manager at the Farmington Hills location and the traffic control representative consistently contradicted each other with their information. The manager at the Farmington Hills location was past horrible!!! Horrible attitude!!!! Made jokes about scamming me!!!!!! I hope new supervision is hired for this location.

We rented a 15' truck over the phone from the Farmington location, the process was very easy, returning the truck after hours was easy. I had never used the U-Haul app before, it was downloaded right after I got in the truck, the app was easy to use. It was a very hot day, the AC worked fine, that was one of our biggest concerns. We'll definitely use this location again!
