WAYNE JI had to scan my own documents at the pickup counter. When did it become a self-serve in-person transaction? When returning the unit several days after a snow storm the return area was only partially cleaned(part was plowed and part was where rental units were removed from) resulting in the parking lines not being visible and previous returns being parked haphazardly. Should I jam it in a snowbank between spots, or where?
PAUL SThe only problem I had was I didn’t know there was ice on top of the truck and my 19 yr old daughter was following me and it was falling on her. So someone really needs to make sure there is no huge chunks of ice on top of the Uhaul trucks.

Gary MKnow what you are renting to people. Don’t schedule a reservation for something, then the next day call a half hour before pickup and say you can’t rent out a piece of equipment and force the customer to have no choice but to pay more for another piece of equipment they did not want to rent. My experience with this u haul was definitely not enjoyable…

BRIAN QCustomer service was good, but the "no parking for more than 15 minutes" is the most ludicrous parking ever! I was told to park in the neighbors parking lot. I rented a van in the afternoon for a few hours, it was lightly snowing, they had no business and the lot had plenty of parking spots. I will NEVER use them or recommend then to anyone.

OCTAVIO CThe truck was loaded with snow and the windshield also loaded with snow. I didn’t have a snow brush tall enough to clean the top of the 20’ van, so I had to drive to my first destination with snow flying off.

JOSEPH LThe front desk experience at this location was extremely disappointing. I arrived with a confirmed reservation for two 26-ft U-Hauls, along with one of my workers, and simply asked the young lady at the desk where I could park my personal vehicle while renting the trucks. She told me I *had* to park across the street at the Stop & Shop parking lot. I asked whether this was an actual U-Haul corporate policy, and she insisted that it was. I’ve rented from U-Haul hundreds of times over the last 10 years and have never once been told I had to park off-site. When I asked how I was supposed to return to the location after parking my vehicle elsewhere, her response was that I “should have been better prepared.” Additionally, if I am required to park in a private lot where I am *not* a customer, and my vehicle is towed as a result, is U-Haul prepared to reimburse me for any towing or impound fees? This instruction puts customers at risk of unnecessary costs and liability, which makes me even more doubtful that this is a legitimate corporate policy. I do not believe this reflects U-Haul’s standards or official procedures, and the employee clearly needs retraining on both customer service and correct policies. I will be leaving a negative Google review until a district manager contacts me to explain what happened here and how this situation will be addressed moving forward.
WILLIAM MMake sure that there is no ice or snow frozen on the windshield and top of truck before renting. Make sure the property is salted properly so pick ups and returns are safe customers.

THOMAS Ddropping off the truck or item you need to tell people not to put the key away first like you already do once I put the key in the slot. I wasn’t able to get any other information for you. This was the stupidest way I’ve ever seen anybody set up instructions.

DOUGLAS MThe uhaul reps tried to give me a trailer that didn't have any working running lights. First trailer I tried had faulty wiring for the running lights that my vehicle detected. After resetting the fault detected by my car, I noticed that all running lights on the left side of the trailer weren't working. Second trailer still had some running lights that were out but at least the rear tail running lights worked. They said it's not their policy to check running lights and claimed that I didn't need them. It was night. Running lights are required at night and it's illegal to run without them. Policy needs to be updated to check for this. Otherwise uhaul may be liable for renting faulty equipment.

EVEN BEING GENEROUS WITH YOUR NUMBERS, REGULAR MATHEMATICS ONLY BRINGS IT TO AROUND $261.00 YET TO REVIEW THIS TOTAL AND COMPLETE RIP OFF WITH THE "mngr.", BUT VERY MUCH LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS, THIS, THIS OFFENSE TO REGULAR MATH EVERYWHERE!!!! ALL OF THIS AND THE TIRES WERE ALL MUDDY AND THEY WERE AWARE OF A MISSING HUB CAP! ! ! !

DEVLIN TThe reason for the stars is from my picking up van experience—profession and cordial and fine equipment. When returning the very new van, I followed the instructional arrows around to the back. The garage like door was open. The sign instructions were to wait in the “equipment” at the STOP sign and green light. It was not “after business hours”, so —We did. No one came. After >10 minutes, I entered the shop large back area. I parked the van. The area appeared large with buckets in a line and other equipment. I noticed a door with a key pad that appeared ajar which looked to be a way to return the key. I and took the necessary pics to start the return process. Afterward, I went through the door which resulted in my entering to the left of the counter where two people (females) looked at me. I explained I was returning a van, and want to confirm I had completed all that was necessary. One of the people replied, “ You shouldn’t be back here “. She said this again in response to showing here the van, parked, open garage door and green light. She again repeated that I should not be there. I informed that no one came as I waited and followed the instructions saying to stay with equipment. But that the green light with STOP, sent a mixed message. After she confirmed i needed to do nothing else, that I would likely receive my receipt by email in 2 minutes, I left. I value the photo taken to confirm equipment condition , before and after , but my experience (tone—-no smile, no hope all went well etc.)”with your inattentive and defensive personnel, felt more rude than helpful.

Robert MThis U-Haul does not operate in good faith. The system was down & I could not get my vehicle until 5 hours later. The truck was hard to start 2 times while I had the vehicle. I tried to extend my rental but was refused as “another family needed the vehicle.” I returned 30 minutes late, but the receipt was clocked at 1 hour and I was charged one a whole day! This was a rip off!!! I would never use U-Haul again, if this is how business is conducted.

ANGELA PEmployee was lovely but there was a long wait because the system wouldn't connect to my phone. The van itself was clean but smelled of cigarette smoke, and we later found a cigarette butt wedged in the side. Having to take photos (including of the roof?? We didn't do that one) was frustrating, as it seems like U-Haul is just outsourcing its labor to its customers. Overall not a great experience, but mostly frustration with the system and not the people. Would recommend, with caveats.
