Unfortunately i book a 20 feet truck form 30 Days for 9 H with a low price and once i came to pick up the truck, no truck available and they suggested me to take 15 feet truck, where i had to take 2 trips instead of one trip. as well as i get charge double the price.

Alice AI arrived about 30 minutes late for a 4 hour reservation and I had all this pressure from the agents telling me I was gonna have a big penalty, about 1200$ if I arrived 15-20 minutes late. While I understand that there may be a penalty (1200$ for being 15 minutes late is outrageous), I didn’t like the pressure, and they were even implying /suggesting that I don’t take the truck at all this day when I had already planned moving.

Horrible organization, worst customer service, I told the “manager” if there was something we could do to speed things up, explained I’ve been waiting in line for 45 minutes, nobody at the front desk, and the only thing he said was “I feel sorry for you”. Once I got the keys there was 2 trucks blocking the way. Reserved the u-haul for 4 hours, turned out I only had 2 and a half hours to do the whole moving because of this.

Hafid EVery very bad experience. I booked a truck at 8am, I arrived at 7:50am and didn’t not leave with my truck until 9:45am. There was a line of 15-20 customers and the employees were outside moving trucks around, without a single employee at the desk. Many clients including myself were paying movers by the hour at home, and even lost time from my reserved elevator slot. Completely unacceptable service. When stating that I had already waited an hour and showing I was frustrated, the employees said “if you’re not happy you can complain to customer service”. All to say I will never go back to this location, and will consider using another company instead of U-Haul in the future.

Irumi SMy reservation was changed 5 times: once from one location to another because of limited availability, 2nd time to yet another location because of truck maintenance needed and lack of availability, 3rd time from a reservation window starting at 2pm instead of 10am after already booking movers, 4th time to 9am instead of 10am with a 5 hour window instead of 6 hours and last time to a 4 hour window. The last changes happened two days before my move and I originally booked 2 months in advance. I ended up paying for a 6 hour reservation because that is what my reservation was originally but I only had it for 4 because the price did not update when they changed my reservation for the last time. I actually respected all of this and made it work, but I overpaid and it was all too stressful, inconsistent and not worth it. It wasn't even much cheaper than a moving company. Also the mirror on the passenger side of the truck kept moving every time we hit a bump which is very common on Montreal roads. Unsafe equipment. You also understaffed at the location. I was first in line right before doors opened and still waited an hour to get the keys. I am sure the rest of the line waited +2 hours feeding into their moving time. Fix your process, make it more accessible and make your customer experience much more seamless and less stressful.
Nicole LI reserved a U-Haul truck in April for this past Saturday at 10 a.m. I also opted for two labor helpers offered during the booking process. However, I saw the charge from a company called rapido Moving from my credit card . On Saturday, my ex and a friend went to pick up the truck, but it wasn’t ready—they said it wasn’t available. I was really stressed. I called rapido Moving, and they told me to cancel the helpers and that they would send two more when the truck was ready, around 1 or 2 p.m. I went back to U-Haul at noon, and they said it would be ready by 1. I called rapido again, but by the time the truck was ready, the helpers never arrived. I kept calling them all day. I only had the truck for six hours. In the end, they only sent one helper, not the two I paid for. They refused a refund. I finally gave the payment code to that one helper so he could get paid. Overall, I was very dissatisfied, and I just wanted to share this poor experience with you.

Benoit BJ'ai reçu plusieurs informations différentes de 3 personnes différentes concernant la tarification et la location du camion et matériel de déménagement. Aucune cohérence dans le message délivré au client. Quand je m'en suis plainte lors de la prise de possession du camion l'employé a sous entendu que c'est moi qui n'avais pas bien compris ce qui avait été dit précédemment par un autre employé au téléphone. Heureusement pour moi je suis aller récupérer le camion avec une autre personne et j'avais un témoin lorsque je suis venue rendre le camion et que l'information reçue était différente de celle reçu quelque heure plus tôt. L'employé qui a récupéré le camion à notre retour était condescendant, insultant et malpoli. J'ai egalement été intimidé au téléphone. Je ne recommanderai pas U-Haul et encore moins cette succursale.
karima kWhen picking up the van 20ft, told that you dont have the booking, even with a reference number and a copy of the email. Wasted lots of time and phone calls. YOu found it after 20 minutes. The van was booked for 3 days. It was parked during the day at Papermans which is what we have done in the past because we have out valets take the cars for the event from Ferrari there in the evening. Uhaul moved the van back to its depot next door ! WHY? I was not contacted until the Evening that this had happened. The truck was needed for the event that night. Lucky for us you happened to be open so that the diver could pick up the keys and take the van back. Very poor communication all Round to be honest.

ISSAM BI made the reservation online and on location it got canceled and I could only get a 2 days rental. One of the days would have been charged by hours at a rate of 20$ because of moving season. My original rental was a 3 days rental estimated at 255$. I would have ended up with a shortened rental for more than half the price you told me and all that because of a mistake I had nothing to do with. I shortened my rental to a single day and then got my account flagged for an unpaid charged I was never notified for. I paid the charge and had to wait 45 minutes on the phone to tell the ealert people that the charge was paid because they could not do it directly from the system. Overall, I had to move my plan because of the lacks in your system and I was never offered any kind of accommodation for your mistakes.

When I saw the text about an hour after, the link was expired. - there was no verification of any damage at the start of the rental. - the truck was dirty inside: there was dirt, dry leaves and many wool blankets on the floor. Clearly the truck was not cleaned before the rental.

Edline SThe truck was smelling fish but it wasn't the company's fault, it's probably a customer that used it for an uncommon purpose. They took the time to clean it but the smell was still there. The major inconvenient was the fact that I booked my truck for 7:30 for mobile pickup but on U haul website, it doesn't show that mobile pickup are not allowed at this location. So I had to postponed the reservation, come back in crunch time at the opening where the yard was a mess full of trucks not ready to go and not inspected which caused delays for every one. I ended up getting my truck after 10 o'clock. ** Recommendation** Not allowing the customer to do Mobile pickup where the locations are not allowing them. Thank you

L'agent qui suivait live les commentaires d'un match de soccer... 1- La réservation stipulait 150 km de fuel gratos plus 50$ à payer pour le camion seulement parce que je devais le chercher à Mtl et non à Laval. 2- à Montréal, le gars me dit qu'on ne peut pas donner le camion parce qu'il dessert Montréal seulement. Après plusieurs appels au siège social, 1 heure d'attente, on me donne le truck avec seulement 49 km de gaz avec un drop off à 15h30 alors que je le loue pour 24hrs et il était 5 pm, il me dit pour changer il faut que je rappelle la compagnie, me donne la clé et me dit que le camion est sur le parking. J'y vais je cherche partout...nada!! Un membre de leur équipe était à côté, je lui dis que le numéro est introuvable..il les appelle sur le talkie, ils se crient dessus parce qu'ils ne sont pas supposés me donner un truck qui est parlé au 3ieme rang...alors il a du sortir plusieurs véhicules pour m'amener le mien, il était 5h30!! Le truck!! La clé reste coincée dans ignition, j'avais du mal à freiner complètement.. I felt like I was a danger for the others. I felt being scammed. Really deceiving experience. Merzouk MDespicable service overall. Personnel was rude, dismissive, unwilling to help out. My reservation for my truck was cancelled the night before my move. I had to spend over an hour on the phone to be able to get a guaranteed (as written in confirmation email) truck at 17h instead of 8am as scheduled. The day of at 17h, and after spending 2h in line waiting i am told there is no truck for me… unless i bring back the truck myself (i had ordered a one way trip). Moreover, they have not respected the initial price i was quoted, as the round trip was more expensive. Truly terrible experience i would not recommend using uhaul at all.
Alexandre YRented UHaul van with guaranteed van reservation. But there was Montreal system outage your associate said. He said I can cancelled the reservation anytime. Your associate (not the black guy) was arrogant and disrespectful. It is just fine that he notified/announced to everyone that their system was down and that our reservations would not be possible for that day. Everyone expressed their concerns and I expressed mine. He cuts me off, then I said "that (cutting-off) was rude". Then he directs his response to me "you are rude". The black guy was helpful, but the rude associate keeps on asserting his authority. We have NOT moved in yet because of this. No UHaul van to use! We will re-try this weekend. Hopefully without the rude arrogant associate who never apologized.

I got there and waited in line . When it was my turn , I found out that they only take credit card . They were not able to go though my debit payment . There is no information that says you need a credit card. It’s 2026. When can’t they accommodate clients with all possible payments? I have to physically get out of the office and take money out from the bank and come back. They were able to get me a truck by 7pm. One hour late and I lost 60$ for my lovers . I appreciate to get compensated for the inconvenience of possible and and I can modify my overall rate and refer to my family

Benoit GNo one told me the return location wasn't the one I booked. They didn't even notify me via email. So I drove an extra 23 miles because I went to the return location I'd booked a few days earlier, only to find they couldn't accept my car. I was confused and didn't know what to do. I drove another 10 miles back to my friend's house, and only then, after checking my account, did I discover the return location had changed. The next day, I drove another 13 miles to the new return location.
GUI LI second time meet this malpractice: Despite I stated clealry and the associate confirmed I want rent for 24h , he still marked in the system 10h, on purpose, as he explained later, to not block the truck for a next rental if I return it sooner. The problem with this is, as it already hapened repeatedly with me, is that I cannot return the truck overnight with the application, because it would automatically charge 2 periods, and the staff offered no refund for the mistake, stating company policy of no refunds. This is cheating in the face. The system should unblock a vehicle after return to be available immediately.
Csaba DWe can start the online process within the U-Haul app at 9:00 on Sunday, not before. I had to wait almost 40 minutes to be validated. I was expecting to get the truck before that. I would like to be able to be already validated when I arrive at the opening. Also no clear idea on how much gas to put back in, it would be best if we would only have to fill up completely.

J'avais réservé un local d'un grandeur précise à une de vos places à partir d'un jour précis et le jour J, on arrive avec notre camion cube et nos affaires et on nous dit qu'il n'y a plus de places dispo ALORS QUE J'AI RÉSERVÉ (mail à l'appui). On a dû sa battre avec l'employé pour qu'il fasse sa job et nous trouve une place. Au final, un local un peu près équivalent était dispo dans une autre succursale mais pour plus cher. Nous l'avons pris en exigeant de l'avoir au prix de celui qu'on avait réservé. Le gérant devait nous joindre sous peu pour cela. Cela a jamais été fait. En s'y installant Nous avons senti une énorme odeur de rongeurs mais on nous a certifié qu'il n'y en avait pas. Nous avons malgré tout acheté DE NOTRE POCHE des pièges à rat pour notre local. Nous sommes restés à peine plus d'un an et déjà en automne dernier nous avions retrouver des cadavres de souris dans nos pièges. Nous avons informé les employés comme quoi il fallait faire quelque chose et vite ! De plus d'informer que notre lumière de local n'avait jamais fonctionné. On nous a dit que le gérant allait nous rappeler et que des notes étaient sur notre dossier. Nous avons eu aucun rappel. Fin février, nous sommes aller inspecter notre local plus en profondeur. Résultat : des cadavres de souris et de la merde de rongeurs à grandeur !!! Et ce, même sans aucune présence de nourriture dans nos affaires ! Nous avons de nouveau signalé tout cela aux employés qui on même pris des photos sous nos yeux de la situation. On nous a informé que dès lundi notre lumière sera réparé et que le gérant nous appelera. Rendu jeudi, ni la réparation de lumière ni l'appel fut fait. Nous sommes donc parti à peine plus d'une semaine après sans avoir eu jusqu'à ce jour un seul appel de qui que ce soit et sans avoir vu quelconque changement dans l'état des lieux. Résultat : tissus et meubles abîmés avec odeur nauséabonde et ZÉRO geste de votre part. C'est une honte de traité le monde ainsi ! Je déconseille fortement tout mon entourage de faire affaire avec vous. Pire expérience d'entrepôt! Vous nous conseillez de vous contacter pour résoudre tout litige avant d'écrire mais cela fait des mois qu'on attend une potentielle réponse de votre part donc rendu là c'est plus de notre ressort !

Mais pas la fin du monde, ils ont été super serviables. Mon point négatif est par rapport au système de réservation d'un espace de stockage de U-Haul en général. C'est vraiment pas clair, surtout à cause du vocabulaire utilisé par U-Haul. On a une réservation mais qui n'est pas vraiment une réservation puisqu'on n'a pas un espace de stockage de garanti. Et ensuite on parle de "move in" pour ce qui est vraiment un "check in". Pour moi le "move in" c'est le jour où j'arrive avec mes affaires, mais pour U-Haul le "move in" c'est quand on a enfin une vraie unité qui nous est attribuée (et où commence à payer). Heureusement le personnel de Jean-talon a été super et a pu m'aider à régler tout ceci et faire en sorte que j'ai bien un espace de stockage pour le jour de mon déménagement. Merci à eux !

I have reserved a 10' storage unit as a part of my month of free storage when reserving a UHaul truck at the Jean-Talon location in Montreal. I had ensured my reservation was confirmed about 2 months before the move. When I got to the location, they told me that the general UHaul team and the Jean-Talon UHaul team were not in contact, so the reservation was never made in their system. So instead of the storage unit I reserved, I had 2 options: A) take a much smaller unit with them (as that was all that was available) or B) go much further in Laval and put my stuff in their storage unit. The staff overall was very nice and the facilities were adequate, but this obviously was not what I wanted. Would not recommend this to a friend.

We spent more time just trying to get in/park/allow other cars going the opposite direction through in the tiny lot than the actual time inside. Reducing the number of vehicles in the lot or expanding further back might be the best course of action because while everything inside was great including the staff, the parking situation made it a less than stellar experience.

I was supposed to get a month for free but the system didn't seem set up to properly to do that, and I had to contact U-Haul to make sure I would get my free month (they did honor it though). I also wanted to end my contract a week earlier but their system was down and I didn't go in during the week because of lockdown restrictions and my own sleeping habits. I think this location may need to upgrade their systems but overall, the experience was very good.

Au cours des années, nous soulignons la courtoisie du personnel à notre égard, l'excellent travail de Mme Line Vaillant pour répondre à nos interrogations et ses suggestions pour régler le PEU de problèmes survenus au cours de ces 11 années. Le seul commentaire moins positif (et pour lequel il y a peu ou pas de solution) est le peu d'espace de stationnement pour les locataires aux heures d'achalandage. Même dans ces situations, le personnel a fait son possible pour nous aider, quitte à déplacer des camions UH. C'est sans hésitation que nous avons recommandé UH Jean-Talon O à nos amis.

I cancelled my contract 3 days after my reservation due to the filthiness of the place. Such a waist of money. The guy at the front desk didn't seem to care at all and he told me there's nothing he could do for me. I called the manager the next day, was told I would get a cal back. I'm still waiting.
