This was a harrowing and traumatic experience. The people at this site blocked me in and yelled at me in public. When I arrived, 4 barking dogs ran up to the car. They werent friendly and i didnt feel safe. I asked the man there where to put the trailer and he pointed to an area on the side of the highway that also didnt feel safe to back it into, so I suggested a spot inside. They said that I needed to wait for thier son to arrive in 30 min "because he takes care of the uhaul" and "we don't know anything about it". I attempted to explain that it was paid for and I could check out online. He repeated that I needed to wait, so I thought I'd make the best of it and go literally next door to get gas and told him so. He walked away. I unhooked the trailer and left it in a spot close enough to roll to where he initially said and so that it wasnt blocking anything. I pulled my car into the gas,station next door to get gas and where I could park safely away from thier dogs. After pumping the gas I went into the store to get a snack for my wait. I took my time since I was going to have to wait and when I came out they had blocked me in with a truck at one end and the woman stood at the other, yelling at me that I couldn't go anywhere. I repeated that I was just getting gas and had planned to wait and she continue to yell at me that I couldn't leave and she didn't like my attitude. That she "knew I was going to leave" and she wasn't going to let me and "the sherrif was on his way". I repeated that I had told her husband I was just getting gas and was waiting. She repeated that the sherrif was coming and I couldn't leave. Her husband then came over and said "let her go". I called the uhaul number at this point and put it on speakerphone so that they could hear that I could checkout online and leave. The woman started berating me again and thier dogs were barking . The operator could hear her. At this point the uhaul operator apologized on behalf of uhaul as she could hear the woman yelling at me. Uhaul refunded my money., but I am traumatized by the whole thing.
