I want to like this location, as its super convenient and the employees try hard. However, every time ive tried ordering a vehicle, the gas tanks are empty and its time consuming to always refill them or account for the gas at pick up. They are accommodating in that they will give me a different vehicle, but it always takes nearly an hour when im on a time crunch. They need better security to prevent syphoning, san jose needs to do better.

For some reasons my u-haul box rental plus pickup and delivery transactions were completed and supposed to be closed out totally on 08/07/29, but then I received a text notification indicating the box rental was activated and opened up again on 08/17/26 by the manager of the Curtner Avenue warehouse in San Jose. Since then I made numerous phone calls and spoke with multiple u-haul representatives about this error made by u-haul, even escalated to the District Manager but to this date I still have not received a resolution and closure on this erroneous open transaction/reservation again without my approval.

I was told tomdrop off at the reserved time at 930am. I picked up the truck at 850am. Waited 20 minutes after i discovered there was a missing windshield wiper then was able to depart at 910. I arrived at the drop off location at 9am. Waited in the car as instructed by the signs printed. No one came. I wemt inside and waited for the one attendant to finish a transaction… then was attended to… now late in the eyes of uhaul… chaged $58 for an extra day. Thievery..

equipment was in poor condition. straps very frayed, tires WAY overinflated Huge business and skeleton crew. 1 person doing the check in.. Owner has attitude when I was simply asking questions. MAYBE IF YOU SPOKE LOUDER I WOULDNT HAVE TO ASK YOU SO MANY TIMES AND. THEN FOR YOU TO GIVE ME AN ATTITUDE??? WTF?

Service was good here, location easy to get to with public transport. The truck did have some dings and scuffs on the OUTSIDE when I picked it up, but the inside was clean. The trailer was pulling a bit to the right and there was resistance, like it felt heavy even when empty. The guy who came to fix the blow out tire did not torque down the wheels with a torque wrench.which kind of worried me. Other than that everything was ok

Service there is sooooo sloooow. I've rented u-hauls a lot, nothing like this. 2nd time I was at this one, a few years back, and it was the same. I had a 4x8 trailer to drop off. There were 8 people in line, and no one at the desk. We waited forever. Someone from the garage walked right past us, went tot he bathroom, and walked right past us again without saying a word. Not even a "we'll be with you in a few minutes." I finally went outside and looked all around the lot till I found someone. He took care of me and signed me off. Which was great, but it meant he took care of me before the 8 people that had been waiting longer, which wasn't my intention. Pickup a few days earlier was just about the same.

There was only 1 person on staff, which meant that I didn’t leave with my trailer until 34 minutes after my reservation. No complaints about the courteousness of the staff, just wish there were more, as at one time there were 4 customers waiting to be helped.

Wait time was ridiculous. Having only 1 person at the counter checking people in, who then needs to go hook up the equipment for the customers does not work. I was late in getting back to my movers because I waited over a half hour to pick up the u-haul truck.

this is an amazing physical space, but it is terribly understaffed. 12 people in line, some claiming to have been there for 30 minutes. My rental, made entirely on the mobile app, took 20 minutes for attendant to be free enough to find the key for my vehicle. I've had past service at independent gas station with only a handful of vehicles that was more satisfying than this location. such a waste of an amazing location with ample parking and an abundance of vehicles available.

got there 30 mins early and had to wait an hour to get our truck. I live in Fremont 2 mins from a Uhaul location but had to drive to Sa nJose.25 mins away. Not convenient.

Upon arriving i was the 6th person in line. 2 people on the counter, not only checking out rentals but then going to the yard to assign the truck/trailer made the line move at a snails pace. Delegation of duties, more help would have been nice.

Daniel the mgr. in San Jose was great! He was extremely helpful/friendly. I believe the rep who dropped off/picked up my container was Trina? She was fantastic. Extremely hard working and very helpful. I'd recommend Uhaul Ubox.

Had a 9:30 reservation for a trailer, got there at 9:15 and didn’t walk out with my trailer until 11:15, two hours total in line and checkout for a trailer I needed for less than an hour. They need a faster way to do check-ins and have more people ready to go pre arrival. I had already checked in on the app as well so all paperwork done from my side, should have been able to pull to a guy in the lot, scan my code and hookup the trailer in 15 minutes if I’m pre checked in. Guys checking in are doing what they can with a very slow system, people in line were getting feisty after 2 hrs.

My overall rating was average for a couple reasons. Frankly I feel that rating is generous with the issues I encountered. I made a reservation and received an email confirming my appointment at another location on The Alameda. When I went there the reservation had been cancelled. After arriving at this location, I waited almost 30 minutes to get waited on.

Every time I rent from this location there is a huge line for service. In the past the only person working was the owner/GM. The rental experience is typically wait in line for 30 minutes, the same person who helps at the desk then needs to go get your equipment ready and then you can finally get on your way. Picking up your rental should not be an hour experience. Staff appropriately, this pickup was a Saturday afternoon, it shouldn't be a surprise that it will be busy.

I had problems with the app. and the location had problems with low life humans syphoning gas out of the one site vans and other rentals. They helped me navigate outside the crazy app and I took the low fuel because I knew I had a gas station down the street and they gave me a discount if I brought it back more then a quarter tank. I loved the Ford van, better than the Dodge I had before and can’t speak for the GM products for cross winds…thank you it was great experience.

I had significant difficulty trying to take the pre-rental equipment photos in the U-Haul app on iOS. I kept taking pictures and accepting them but the app never seemed to accept them. Eventually an employee said to skip doing it in the app and just take regular photos on my phone. It's kind of annoying to pick up a truck and it only has like 10 miles worth of fuel in it so the first thing I have to do is spend time getting gas. Maybe provide some minimum amount of fuel like an 1/8 or 1/4 of a tank?

First of all its not customer duty to find truch, it took me 20 minutes to fins truck because there are so many trucks and how do i know where is actual the truck. I asked the guy where is the truck and he said ovet there but they should do the excat location Rather than going me out to find and see numbers on each truck better they have to take us or bring at the door. My Uhaul experience was great!!! It was super easy to check in and the truck was in great condition when I got it. Returning the vehicle was also very easy. Pricing was affordable as well. I would recommend this location to anyone!!

Poor customer service, long wait time. Tried to use App had many techincal issues. When I picked up the rental truck, I left the location and discovered there was very little gas in the truck. I went to the gas station and purchased $38.00 of fuel. When I returned the vehicle to U Haul, I was assured that I would be reimbursed for gas, but wasn't. There was a long line for check in, seemed that not enough staff was availabe on Saturday.
