Gary QAt check in the person working the counter was very courteous and the pick up was a pleasurable experience. Due to the size of the 26 ft truck I was concerned that it might be too big for my abilities in the parking lot i was going into. I asked the clerk if there would be any way that i could possibly down size to a 20 ft. He said not a problem he had one available if i wanted to do that. He switched my on line reservation and it did not seem to add any extra time. This experience i would rate it Excellent. Their was a misunderstanding on my part due to the stressful day coming up, I missed the documentation link sent to my phone to take pictures of the mileage and the existing damages to the truck. When i got back home i saw that i had a Text Message from U Haul and i tried to access but it had expired. I contacted customer service rep. Katiffany Readdy explained to me that was the documentation portal that i was supposed to do before i left the lot. I explained to her that i did take the pictures of the odometer and the vehicle just not with the link. She said no problem and sent me an email to send her the pictures so she could just upload and put them in the "file" for me. Katiffany stayed positive and was very willing to go above and beyond in my opinion and i thank her for the help . This experience I would Rate it as Excellent Drop off was not a great experience. In the past i have rented motorcycle trailers from this location. I would pull up under the cover and waited for someone to take the trailer and it was pretty quick and painless. This time i rented a 20 foot truck and returned the equipment. I waited with the vehicle as the sign directs me to. I waited 20 minutes outside in the staging area and went inside to turn in the equipment. As i walked in i saw two people sitting at the counter looking at their phones and the clerk who was chatting up the other two people with no customers in line. When i walked up the counter, the clerk took the key and said i was all set and i went on my way. My biggest complaint is that the second encounter with the U Haul they seemed lazy and not wanting to do their job. I don't under stand who does what job at this location but with a check in as simple as it seemed to be, this could have been performed by support personnel just as easy as the counter clerk. This experience was a below average experience.

JOSEPH DI did not understand the return policy, I did ask the customer service rep about returning the trailer. He said you return it here before 8, I came back at 6:20 and the place was closed. He did not explain the return after hours policy. I made a video of me returning the trailer at 6:20.

John JFirst off, I was very satisfied with the U-Haul on Governors Drive. The only problem I had was on the way to Virginia I ran into rain. When I got to Virginia Beach, all of the moving blankets I had in the back of the trailer were soaked. I called U-Haul Roadside and they sent an apparent contractor over that night. He said he found where the leak was coming from, but he didn't have the equipment to repair.it. He got on the phone with Roadside, and I was told to take the trailer to the U-Haul at 5609 Raby Road in Norfolk, VA. The manager said the trailer is not waterproof. Mind you, this is an enclosed trailer. He was very disrespectful did not want to help even though roadside assistance sent me there. I finally asked to speak to the repair manager which he finally notified. The repair guy took the trailer off my vehicle and brought it to the back. He came back 5 minutes later and said he could not find any leaks. I told him and the general manager that I wanted a replacement trailer, and he refused again saying they are not waterproof. i then got into my vehicle and called U-Haul roadside again not leaving until I got an answer. The manager came out approximately 15 minutes later and told me to leave the property because I was blocking "his customers." There were no customers at the time. As far as I am concerned, the manager and service manager need to be fired. He not only talked down to me but also to another customer that was inside. This is no way to run a business. Very disrespectful. If this was my first time renting a trailer, I would not rent again from U-Haul. I have never had a problem with U-Haul before. Like I said, the Huntsville location was nothing but friendly and very helpful. In fact, I had to rent another trailer in Virginia so my daughter could put the rest of her things in it. I contacted the U-Haul in Huntsville by phone to arrange the rental. Very helpful. If the U-Haul in Virginia Beach was just a fraction of the U-Haul in Huntsville, it would go a long way.

Alfred BCheck out and check in is slow. Also, when I called to reserve a trailer and specifically asked for one with ramp. They tried to tell me that I didn’t order one with a ramp. We squared it up but the person who took my reservation wasn’t helpful nor competent.

We had filled up the tank to Full but were still charged $68.75 for gas. Have tried calling their phone number but keep getting a "CALL FAILED" notice.
Laura EI completed the online drop off information. A guy came to the car and saw that I was entering information for the self checkout/return of the U-haul trailer. He immediately went and disconnected the trailer and parked it in a specific spot. He then disappeared back inside. He didn't ask if I had questions. It was my first time returning a trailer in a very long time and I had never processed the return online. I proceeded to the parked trailer and took the required pictures. The attendant was not helpful during the process. That is my only constructive criticism.

Rodney GIt was a very straightforward process, having made all reservations online and picking up equipment the next day. The truck and trailer were in very good condition, and the attendants were helpful during pickup and return. One thing that could be improved is having the trailer already hooked up when the customer arrives (that would probably require an extra attendant).
