The trailer I reserved was not there so they got me a smaller trailer. Due to that issue I was forced to make more trips moving stuff and with the price of gas it cost more money then expected. Due to this hopefully the next time I rent it will be comped and no cost.Jeffery T.

my problem is with your employees insisting that i use a cell phone to rent a truck. your site offers that as a convenience, but states that it's also acceptable to have a clerk check you in. regardless of what some people think, not everyone has a cell phone.barbara T.

Undecided if I would recommend. Last experience I had was horrific. Made reservation but there were no trailers available and they wanted me to drive 30 min away to another city to get one. This experience was great. Very efficient staff and everything was great.Brian L.
I think u haul is a good organization. The location on Kansas ave in modesto ca is especially a great location I have used it many times. One thing you can improve in is hire more people like the ones at Kansas ave. Blanca is a great representative of you company and is very good customer service. I do not send in reviewed many times at all. But I felt moved to do so because of the top quality service and professionalism of Blanca and the entire staff at that location.Richard H.

The 4x7 trailer I rented today had no safety pin for the coupler. They tried to sell me a lock so nobody could take it off. I said it was missing the safety pin to hold the coupler on. I pull trailers for a living. I've seen what can happen with no safety pin. The people who "helping" me had no clue what I was talking about. Since I only needed it for a very short time, I just took it as it was. But I was really upset by the lack of safety equipment and the lack of knowledge from the employees there.Dean L.

I ordered items/equipment to go along with my truck rental and the pads werent even in the truck, nor did they check to see if they were and then the dolly I needed was not available. Just poor planning on their partArianna K.
Horrible customer service. I had one CC declined twice while using the CC machine, after which the the agent asked "do you have a valid card" I supplied another card and I told the agent that if this card was decalined, I was going to leave. It was declined, I got up to leave and the agen said "maybe it's the machine", which it was. NO apology. I was told in a very "short /terse" way how to do the walk-around. I asked if someone would assist, I was told "No, that's your job to do, we don't do that" I stated that Enterprise always does the walk-around with me. I was told "Not my problem". I went to do the walk-around, after looking at the condition of the van, which was filty and had issues (the pictures were hard to see and I didn't see the issues in the photos) I returned inside to ask about all the dirt and dents. I was told "That's why you take the pictures, like I told you. Did you not understand that?" This was told to me by someone other than the agent who assisted me. Had I not needed the van that day, I would have cancelled. I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again. I rent 2-3 a month, I normally rent from Enterprise, but due to when I wanted to return the van, I opted for U-Haul. I won't even give U-Haul a second chance. U-Haul should be ashamed of the people that are at the facility I rented from.Martin D.
The truck had dog hair all over. I waited 15 min. Before getting help as the attendant was washing a truck and made me wait until she cleaned it. She stated that she just sanitizd the truck, but it was dirty full of dog hair. I took the truck home and vacuumed.Sargon S.
The young lady who assisted me was wonderful getting educating me on the trailer and did great hitching it to my vehicle however I discovered during the return on the vehicle she overcharged me. She was charging me per mile and I paid extra in case I went over the allotted mileage, but the man I delivered said that is not possible has the trailers have no mileage gage. We had to have the drop off point changed to the Kansas avenue location because the one we had selected (Tio's Auto) had closed earlier than the 6 pm time their website had indicated. This actually I find inexcusable as it caused substantial issues having to sort that out. Tio's Auto should be open when they say they are on the website. I made the reservation more than one month ahead of time. I really wanted a 5X10 box trailer but I got a 6X12. It was a bit too much for me to haul it for 2000 miles. Otherwise everything was goodAurel V.
Understanding and helpful. One thing uhaul needs to do, is clarify where the truck is being dropped off. Every time I choose a location to drop off a rental, I go to that location and they state I need to take it somewhere else. DumbRyan P.

The Kansas location is far more professional and honest than the McHenry location. The sassy young man at the McHenry location always tries to rip you off for gas and always has an attitude. The employees at the Kansas location were helpful, nice, and there was actually the correct amount of gas recorded. I will only use Kansas uhaul from now on.Micah R.

The manager and store associate did the best they could with what they had but at the end of the day, U-Haul is just a crap company. This is my 2nd time having an issue with U-haul and it's because of their lack of guarantee when renting one of their items. I rented a 6x12 trailer and when I showed up, the trailer was down for repair (it needed a compressor) . I had people who were supposed to help me move, plans to leave that same day and the u-haul that I reserved was down for repair with no notice! I was then offered a smaller trailer or a truck which would not be comped and would've been triple the price I was supposed to pay. I called U-Haul to complain about the issues I was having and was told that I should have receive a call the day prior to confirm when and where I'll pick up my trailer and that it's not a guarantee the place I reserved my trailer will have it. I did not receive any call the day prior and when I told the woman on the phone that, she basically said well I can call the place you were supposed to pick up from and see if there's any update. The place I had just left FIVE MINUTES AGO. Needless to say, U-Haul offered no solution. Lucky for me, my friend had a compressor and offered to fix the U-Haul for them. They allowed him to and thank god it worked. No discount was given for my troubles. We paid full price for a trailer with a flat that we had to fix ourselves because U-Haul was acting helpless.Deja D.

I specifically asked for a trailer with a ramp so that we can load a motor cycle, BBQ, heavy stuff. Instead I received their last one with a tail gate. That was after I waited 45 minutes to cancel the first one that she assigned me to that was closed trailer with no ramp. So we had to make ramps out of bricks and boards. Safety hazard but we got through it with no injuries. Thank God !!!cornelia V.
