Drop off was the big issue and I drove almost 400 km to drop off the trailer. The assistant was helpful but this location was chaotic with many trailer tongues extending out into the roadway. Access was good but trucks and trailers seemed parked everywhere. I would avoid this location if I had a choice.

When I picked up the truck that I rented it only had 1/8 of a tank of fuel or less. I had to go fuel up the truck before I started loading it because I wasn’t sure if I would run out of gas. When I went to pay for my rental, I mentioned to the lady at the till that it is a poor company policy to leave a vehicle with less than an 1/8 of a tank of fuel in it for the customer not only did she disagree with me but she started arguing with me and turned a legitimate complaint into a full blown argument. I asked her stop and close out my bill but she decided to escalate the situation and refused to let me pay for my rental. She said I would have to call head office to resolve this. This woman should be fired! This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I would never recommend this location to anyone so long as that woman is working there! I understand that you don’t always get a full tank or a half tank of fuel when you pick up a rental but having less than an 1/8 of a tank is ridiculous. I only rented the vehicle for 4 hours so I could have refused that specific vehicle and waited for another rental but that was going to be too time consuming for me. I already had waited in line for 15-20 minutes. That’s why I took the rental and voiced my concerns afterwards. That woman should not ever work in a customer service position. She scores a ZERO when it comes to customer service!

We use de U-Haul app to pickup and drop off the truck. It was fast, useful and easy to use. The staff there was very polite and diligent and answered all our questions.We surely would recommend it! Thanks!

There was this back and forth about losing a truck that was returned to them. I had asked to take a view at the cameras to confirm that they truck was returned to them but it resulted in tons of being put on hold and not looking at the cameras I’m going to assume as they had said that they still couldn’t find it. As well as I’m looking at my past orders and I see a charge for 80$ for a truck I never rented. I’m seeing the charge for 50$ for the truck I rented but this other charge I’m just beyond confused right now. The communication skills between staff seem to be below average and I’m hoping that gets fixed.

This was my first time renting a van from U-Haul, and although I was confused with the online rental (I MUCH prefer dealing with actual people), the woman at the counter was VERY patient and helped with my Rental pick-up, never making me feel that I was wasting her time. When I returned to drop off the van Gurpreet was friendly and quick to acknowledge me, even though he was getting another order ready for a customer, fabulous customer relations! The return process was fast and easy and I appreciated that both staff didn't get frustrated when I obviously didn't know the correct process... but I will next time!

Reservation online was terrible, website did not work for reservation process. Called local U-Haul and made reservation over the phone. When I went to pick up the truck, the process was extremely disorganized slow and unprofessional, even with the reservation the day before. Truck was in very poor shape, sunvisor was hanging down in front of windshield on driver side just as one example. Will definitely use a different rental company next time.

The staff was all over the place, they would be helping me and then another staff member would walk in and I would be ignored and they would just walk away leaving me standing there. It was done by a few staff. The one lady was about to do it to a customer amd he told her to just deal with me and finish what she was doing. One person was helping me for 10 min, I asked for an enclosed trailer and was told they don’t have any, then filled out paperwork for an open trailer. Then I was passed on to someone else to finish paperwork and she started all over. After about another 20 min I went outside and was given a smaller enclosed trailer. When I returned the trailer I was told to drive down to the end. The man was just finished placing a trailer and I was next. A woman walked up to him and they started talking for about 5 min as if I wasn’t there. The staff are very disorganized.

I was not satisfied with my rental experience. First, there was no parking available for customers when picking up the truck. I had nowhere to park my own car, which was very inconvenient. Second, the check engine light was on when they gave me the truck. Vehicles should be properly inspected before being rented out — customers should not receive a truck with engine problems. Third, when I asked the receptionist about the size of the truck, I was told it was 15 feet long, but it was actually only 12 feet. I had planned to pick up something that needed a 15-foot truck, and it didn’t fit. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and hope U-Haul improves its service and vehicle maintenance.

Get new staff ones who don’t tell me to go jerk off in my hole. I was over charged and I called them out on it and I guess they didn’t like it. I have a disability which is a tracheotomy. I am going public with this as that is not just unprofessional but very disrespectful. They need to go back where they came from if this bullshit is going to happen. I’m not done with this situation as I’m being told if I call head office that nothing will be done about it. If nothing gets done about it, I will take the lawn into my own hands.

It drove like a tank and pulled hard to the left when driving up hills especially. Very smelly in cab of truck. The app failed during pickup and I had to wait for 45 minutes to get the truck, because they did not know the code for the lock to get the keys. Not well run office at all. I will not be going back to that location.

Dropped off at the specified location, but the business was closed Mondays…so i left the unit at the back behind the building. I followed the instructions indicated thru the text sent by U-Haul taking the requested photos. Just felt strange leaving the trailer unlocked with no one around.

Packing blankets had been left in rain and were provided to us wet - useless for protecting wood furniture. Appliance dolly also left out in rain and provided with dripping wet straps. Not acceptable. The rear door on the truck was in need of servicing - jammed repeatedly when closing because wheels in one side would jump the track and took all of my strength to get it moving again. When brought to the attention of the attend upon returning, I was told it just needed WD40. I was ignored when describing wheels jumping outside the track and the door jamming. I have another truck rented in a week. I expect better quality service.

When I called this location to change the drop-off to one-way, I was not told in advance that it would increase the price by approx. $100. I immediately asked them to change it back to return at this location and the person told me that she made the change and that I would see it in my UHaul Ap shortly. I waited 3 hours, and called back. The change was never made and the person couldn't understand what I was asking. She eventually had to get her Manager on the phone to correct. When we returned the UHaul, right after check-in, I received my receipt by email which charged me that additional $100 (approx) and I called them immediately and they redirected me to the billing dept. I was told that they charged me as a ONE WAY and that I would receive a credit for the overcharge amount, which I did, a couple days later.

Takes too long to get vehicle. Can’t add drivers without them being there. With Turo you can add drivers online. I also don’t like that they are taking my photo at check in. The check in process always seems to change. Will be using Turo more in future unless process becomes easier.

The U-Haul computer systems also went down at this location so I could not properly return my trailer. Thankfully the employee was proactive and wrote down the information on a piece of paper and then processed it himself later. U-Haul needs to invest in itself as a company, I have experienced nothing but issues from the moment I started interacting with this company.

This location wasn't the issue. But this experience was. The location listed on Barnet highway was the 4th location I was sent to, and was the location I was trying to avoid. I booked a truck at a neighbourhood U-Haul dealer (City Tire) and it was sitting there, for a week leading up to my "Guaranteed Booking". I pull up at the time of my booking and the business didn't do anything to set up their end. Then the agents on the phone sent me to two more locations that either didn't have a truck or the truck was locked behind a fence, before they finally sent me to the giant U-Haul center on Barnet Highway an hour after my booking (far away from me).

Didn't inform me that if I brought the trailer back a day early that it wouldn't cost me as much overall experience with u. Haul is garbage. I rented an appliance dolly. I waited in line to rent the dolly while one employee sat at a computer directly in front of me. I didn't like that. The dolly was outside, wet and the strap was not tied up. When I returned the dolly there was a line up but an employee saw me, found the contract and provided immediate help. This was very good and much appreciated.

The layout is terrible, half the time I could not get to my storage locker and had to wait for rentals to be moved. There is no signage or paint to tell people not to leave return vehicles in the way of the storage access and even if there was the place is so full there is no where for them to be left. If I wanted to access my unit before employee hours there is a strong chance it would be blocked by new returns. This was absolutely unacceptable and a terrible experience. The entrance is shared with a car dealership who double parks and the uhaul triple parks on their side making it an absolute nightmare. 0/10 would never recommend.

Price was good. Staff often confused or seemed annoyed that we wanted help or asked questions. Access to locker main entrance was a nightmare. Seemed like we were caught in a dispute between Honda and U-Haul on who owned the access road. There were times we could not get a vehicle to the building. There were times the access road was totally blocked. We spoke to a manager(s) on a number of occasions. Apologies but no change made. Trucks parked every where. Finally had enough. We had rented for many years but couldn’t deal with the lack of access to the building. Would have stayed but found a different location for our storage. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone until access issues are fixed.

poor storage location. To upload or download stuffs to storage takes too much detour. The main entrance gate was way too far. Used move/out feature from the app, but it didnt work. it say its in pending “waiting for uhaul employee to check the storage” then it never happened. i waited roughly 6 days then I had to walked into the Uhaul to completed move-out process.

Horrible experience had to store my personal items due to restoration work and a week before I had to take my stuff they were flooded by rain apparently not the first time. My unit was the worst hit. When I paid for unit I was never told of this incident or asked if I wanted to purchase insurance. I also recently received a notice advising the price of the unit is going up. Now we wait they said I can only choose to get refunded or go through claims. That is so wrong I should get refunded and also be able to submit claim for items damaged.

The good: Barbara is an actual superstar. Everytime I’ve needed help with something she’s been so helpful and kind. I notice other staff members seek her out for guidance as well. She seems like a great leader. The bad: it’s very hard to access the storage unit. There were often uboxes being stored in the loading bay and the neighbouring business block the road most days. On more than one occasion staff from the business next door were in their car, parked in the storage loading bay having lunch.

I was very upset when i had originally reserved the storage as i was moving down from north vancouver island 8 hours away and had reserved the storage at the smae time as the truck weeks before. When i finally got to the storage facility i was told my storage reservation was taken by another customer. I was confused because i had RESERVED it and then after driving 8 hours and nowhere else to take my things i was told it was first come first serve. So i dont understand what the point of reserving was. They originally were going to let me just walk away with nothing i had to ASK if there were other units available. Which there were but not the size i reserved so i needed to get a bigger one at a more expensive rate. THEN they were not going to honor my first free month from my original RESERVATION because i was taking a different unit. Eventually everything got sorted but was a hugely unnecessary added stress to my move. I did reccommend my friend NOT to choose uhaul for their storage and moving needs because i did not want them to go through the same thing i did. They chose a different company and it went smooth with zero issues. Unfortunate.

I had to ask the staff 3 different times about my storage locker when leaving. None of them could help me and said they would find out and get back to me by the end of the day. None of them called me back. I then emailed the GM of the uhaul about the matter. That took 3+ emails to get a reply. At which after being a customer for 3+ years, I wasn't allowed to have a prorated amount for 7 additional days for the storage. It was just a "sorry, that is policy" without thinking about the customer. After all this, I even saw a uhaul rental hit an employees vehicle and let them know about it. Not looking for the world, just a little help.

I was moving from the North Island to Coquitlam and had RESERVED a storage unit for my belongings along with my uhaul truck rental. Upon arriving atthe uhaul storange unit to offload everything i was told my reserved unit was gone because it was taken by another customer. I did not understand as I had reserved the unit for the day i arrived and the was told it was first come first serve. I have never in my life heard of a reservation being first come first serve. I was very upset and they offered a bigger, more expensive unit because all the units of size i had reserved were gone. Then they said i would not get my first month free because it was not my original reservation. I did eventually get them to do it but it was alot of unnecessary added stress to an already long stressful day of moving and driving.

One of you employees was exceptionally helpful during my time renting the two storage units. I do not remember her name at this moment, but is a blond short hair lady and she was always smiling, new the system and process very well, and provided very quick help when and I needed, and every time we cross paths in the storage area she was saying good day! Unfortunately due some changes in my finance, needed to close my two accounts, but if I needed again, will go this U-haul location and hope she is there to provide the same exceptional service.

The storage facility was at the far back when I requested one that I could drive up to, and when I sent my driver there he was told I didn't have a storage locker there , so that created unnecessary stress . Then I called about getting some guys to load and unload and these guys subcontract for uhaul . They are not professional. They didn't seem to know how to load and pack properly. Constantly checking their watch , and they just got dropped off . So they had no car and my driver was upset that on a hot sunny day he had to share the front of the truck with 2 hot sweaty guys. No where did I agree to transport these guys .. they just assumed . That was rude and annoying . Because of their lack of knowledge it costed me 2 extra hrs , a lamp, and I needed to move the rest of my things to another storage locker , costings me anadded $400 for 2mths . They broke a very expensive hand painted lamp and just threw my stuff in the locker and piacked heavy things on top of breakable things. I'm very disappointed with the company that uhaul supplied me with for loading and loading . Never again !

I had booked a few weeks prior , called the day before to change and get a bigger unit and confirm my reservation to avoid any problems for the guys the next day . I has a friend driving the truck so his time was valuable as I was paying him he got there and was told there was no storage available ...that was awful and very upsetting. He then drove to sentinel storage which was closed for lunch then he called me to ask where I'd like him to go .I also had hired moving helpers thru uhaul via select movers. Also getting paid by the hour. I told him to go back to uhaul , I sent him reservation # ..and I had to stop what I was doing ..I had cleaners, plumbers, etc on my end . And only to be told I had to do something online. My internet was canceled, computer packed, my phone was in a dead zone area and I got very upset because all the info I gave 2 weeks prior was what he asked me for . I.m still upset. Then they gave them a locker on 2nd floor with stairs when I booked a ground floor . Just a gong show a whole hour wasted and costed me $ 200. Extra that made my experience with uhaul not good I'm still very angry. Then select moving sent 2 guys..not professional movers, I couldn't understand them . They didn't know how to pack well and then I needed a 3rd storage locker and after the horrible experience I ended up booking one at sentinel over the phone in 10min and done, but .also costed me another 200 plus these guys from select movers didn't pack the locker well either and the driver called me to say it might not all fit in here..these guys don't know what they are doing and move at a snails pace . Me and 2 girlfriends had to do a lot of work to help speed up the process and so we had to help them with packing tips and they didn't want to listen at my end but we got them to fit in more things they were just going to leave .I saw lots of wasted space , then thankgod my friend got in the locker and shuffled things around and it all fit ,I'm not impressed at all with moving company and the guys they sent out, they were more concerned about the time than working and costing me another 2 hrs of time and money plus extra locker

My storage unit was flooded; U-haul never took responsibility. I lost 1/2 of my professional library as a result. In addition, there was the gong show that happened this weekend with a UBox rental. If I never have to deal with U-haul again, it will be too soon.

The main reason I moved was access to the facility. Several times I could not easily access the doors due to the trucks and Honda parking lot. I brought this up once to the staff but didn’t hear anything back.

The website made it look like there was an elevator to access second floor. There was not at this location. And the second floor units had a large ledge at entrance so we could not wheel heavy items into it but had to lift them in. And the description of what could fit was incorrect. Not enough space to store furniture and contents.

Mice droppings on my wrapped sofa sectional when I moved my furniture out. Not very pleased as rodents can damage to furniture and cases a bad smell. There was no food inside my storage unit.

The location was high volume and for there only being one person he was extremely efficient. I thought I was going to be hours but signed in within 20minutes of arriving and had convenient access to my storage locker.

Everything was perfect with the unit but unfortunately the shared parking lot with the Nissan dealership made it an absolute nightmare trying to drive back too the storage entrance. I'm not sure what's going on there or if it's just temporary.

Can't say enough about the wonderful service received from staff, especially Christie. From beginning to end she was kind and helpful in making our storage needs a seamless experience. I would have rated 5 all the way except the last day the automatic exterior lights weren't working... it was the only time it happened and the staff was looking into the problem immediately. Additionally, access to the storage units from outside was tight a few times due to lots of parked cars and trucks but we managed regardless. Overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend uhaul storage.

The adjacent Honda dealership filled up the shared lane with vehicles stacked multiple levels deep every day, and U Haul trucks were often parked on the other side. This left very little space to maneuver a vehicle, load, unload, etc. Rental truck receiving area was often clogged with trucks coming in, completely blocking the storage unit access. I voiced my concern to two different managers, nothing was done. Access to the storage units was also restricted or blocked completely during a construction project on the Skytrain line (now completed), which made it extremely difficult to load/unload. No compensation, advance warning was provided, nor was there an apology forthcoming for the inconvenience . Waiting for counter service was very slow. Not uncommon to stand in line for 20+ minutes to speak with someone. Staff was friendly, many of the complaints were out of their control (except for the Manager).

Water had leaked into my unit. Destroying my antique ivory screen.... which I paid 3200 for 20 yes ago.... which would have increased the value substantially. Did not feel satisfied with a "shame about your luck" attitude. I was texted the claims number, but was already told by manager that they would not pay that amount. So I guess " shame about my luck "
