Only suggestion would be to have a priority line for people who have reserved and checked in online (in advance). There was a line up and significant delay due to the capable staff trying to completely satisfy each customer before tending to the next. Otherwise it was a good experience.Kirk S.

Staff was friendly, but no one told me to check and validate my fuel level when I got to the truck. I was VERY surprised to get a truck that was almost empty, so I took a picture of the gage for reference and went directly to the gas station and put $50 of gas in it. I dropped off after hours and got my digital receipt the next morning and was charged for gas $19.95 and a gas service fee $30. I went into the location that day to.ask about the charges, and the guybthere validated for me that I should definitely not have any fuel charges, but was unable to do a refund. He gave me a card and told me to call the manager in the morning. Every time I call, no one answers and it says.my wait time is over an hour. So I am very frustrated and owed money by this location.Breanna M.
The on line stuff you have to fill out is rediculous. I want to know why on the side of your trucks it says $19.95 + miles yet after saying I needed the cube truck for 4 hrs and roughly 40 kms I gave him $100 and got no change back and still put $25 of gas back. So my rental came to $125 and had the truck for 5 hrs no changeDoug A.

I haul tell you that there is 1/4 gas in the van and it is when take a first look but once you leave the premises then within a kilometer it's way under 1/4. That is very disingenuous and very disappointing for the customerVijay P.

The return process was frustrating when we input our reservation number and name it didn't recognize the name. We tried the additional name it did t recognize that either . It was later in the evening and had been a long day of moving so that enhances the process .Christopher M.

Uhaul has been great at the location . The frustration that I have is this years new rule re truck rentals. We are in the process of a short move, 215K., with uhaul outlets at both ends. But there is now a ridiculous regulation the required us to return a truck to its pickup spot. So, the easy cost effective move is complicated by both time and the forcing of additional mileage. My daughters move from Ottawo to SW Ontario went well and drop off in Port Elgin was no issue. Thus year, I cant do the same from Hamilyon to Port Elgin, a short drive. Put More Trucks on the Road !!!Holly M.

This location was great but our overall experience was absolutely brutal and caused an immense amount of stress and created a domino effect of problems. We initially booked the truck for pick up at the Big Bear on Aberdeen but were then confirmed at the Welcome Mart on Barton. When we arrived at 3pm to pick up our 15' truck for a 24 hour rental we were told it hadn't been returned. After spending over and hour trying to figure something out since no 15' trucks were available or had to be returned at 9:30am the next day (our move in time was 9am the following day) we were able to secure a 10' truck for 5pm, to be returned at 1pm the next day (we lost 4 hours of rental time). Unfortunately this ended up costing us almost our entire final day of packing, and during all of this we had a baby with us that was inconsolable by the time everything was figured out. Not only did this cost us precious time and cause a ton of frustration during an already stressful move, but all of our items wouldn't fit in the 10' truck, and due to the truck having to be returned earlier we were only able to do one trip with the uhaul followed by several other trips between our old location and new location which was an hour round-trip drive each time. All said and done this incident cost us invaluable time, caused the most stress and frustration we've ever experienced during a move and inconvenienced not only us but those that dedicated their precious time to helping us. At the end of this all we received a $50 discount and had the km rate cut in half but I would have paid double to have not had this happen.James C.

Wasn't made aware of a $25 cleaning fee as I made sure it was clean when I returned it and I was charged the $25 . Not happy with that as the vehicle had sticky juice or pop on the ground of the back storage cab . Not happy I had to pay extra in which I was not told about .Nathan P.
Amazing experience, I was tight on time as I recently added a hitch to my new vehicle but did not order a wiring harness. Your staff were lifesavers this weekend, despite the part being in stock, your Barton staff called a nearby location in Burlington and arranged to have the part waiting for me when I arrived at the location. The Burlington Plains Road East staff were great too, I walked in and they knew who I was by the vehicle I arrived in, and as they were slow at the time a staff member came out with me as I did not have the tools to do the quick install. He was great l, he knew what he was doing and turned a 20 minute job by me into a few minutes and I was on my way to pick up the trailer at the Barton Street location. I am impressed with Kyle as he has a great attitude with customers, when I was first at the location a lady was having a go at Kyle about a truck rental issue, you know the type a Karen. He was able to switch off after his Karen encounter and focus on me as a customer and you would never know he just went 12 rounds in a customer service cage match with a Karen.gregory C.

Make the employees check the truck and KM before giving it to a customer & after customers return it to avoid any issue. Like I rented the u-haul van because we needed another truck when my family was moving out. Which is stressful as it is. I rented it for one day but I couldn't return the truck on time for which i was charged additional day no problem. But the mist of renting the U-Haul Van & Returning it quicker then i wanted to because the branch was short on van and called me twice. I did not check the Mileage either time because I was like this is one of the biggest branch in Hamilton area their operation will be mistake proof not like the other convenient stores where guy know nothing about your company. So the result of me blindly trusting the branch was that there had a discrepancies in KM Mileage. And even though i drove less than 50KM(out of which i prepaid for 40KM) i was charged additional $113.43 after me trying to tell the employee working in the branch i did not drive those KMS. Only thing I had as evidence was gas receipt from minutes prior to dropping the van off. Which was from a gas station less then 5 KM away from the branch. Your company is providing a service to people in need off your help, people who are going through tough days. You should not be adding to their troubles. Thanks, Adil DhramcyAdil D.

I reserved a room and it was not available when I got there! Was offered another one which unbeknownst to me was more money! Paid for it and 3 days later got a letter stating I was late on payment and would have to pay a late fee! Went in and was told not to pay as I already had and that the company does this all the time! Received another notice maybe a week later stating the same! Was told by counter person (who was friendly) that it was NOT the correct price and to not pay. At the start of next month I received another letter stating same price, so I went in and was told by the same person he would talk to manager and see about getting the price I was quoted on the internet. I was told by him that if the manager would not agree (which I was told NEVER HAPPENS) that I could move out and not be charged. A week later when I did not get a answer, and looked at my credit card statement I had already been charged! When I went to see what's up, I had the unpleasant experience of meeting the manager one (Colin Reese) who was nothing like any of the other people who worked there. He was rude, ignorant and unwilling to listen. His only and final answer was that (I was wrong, and that's that!) I told him I was not happy and would leave a review. His words were I DON'T CARE! My rating is average because I was told my unit was being demolished and would have to move ASAP. I arrived at 3pm and talked to office. I was told they were transferring me in a U-box and would get one delivered to my storage unit. After about 30 minutes the guy drove up saying they were just figuring out what they are doing and would just be a little while longer. After 2 hours of waiting I went back into the office to find out what was going on. The guy called his boss and was told they are moving me to another unit not a U-box. I was told the first month was free but I needed to pay the 18.00 insurance fee. I had forgot my wallet but need to come in to pay my other unit in a couple of days. I had to then go back unpack my truck of the things I was bring home and repack with the boxes to move into the new unit. I received an email a couple of days ago saying that there was a 15.00 late fee on thec18.00. On May 20, 2021 I booked storage as we sold our home and need storage for a short time. The storage was book and was told given the pass code to enter after hours but the MOST important part they left out was that the access code wouldn't work until after 24hrs, hence why we were locked out. We had to leave all our furnitures in the truck, park on a street. We returned May 21 to store our stuff and was told that, no elevator, so we we forced to cancel the storage and had no were to store our furnitures. Mice infested, staff couldn’t care less about our concerns, Store Manager did not return our phone calls despite numerous calls made and messages left. Some of our belongings were damaged (carpet) and no one bothered to help nor provide some sort of compensation. Will never use uHaul again for any kind of service. Every facility may have its challenges however, customer service is extremely important and no one seemed to care. Perhaps further training is required with this location staff. The person that was working should not have been working they didn't seem like they wanted to be at work I asked for a lower unit I have a lot of items to put in the storage I waited 40 minutes to get served once I obtained my key I went around the facility to enter my unit and realized it was on the top level I went back to say that the unit is not on the lower level and I was told that you couldn't do anything about it that I would have to go around the building and wait in line again after lugging in all my valuables onto a dolly from my vehicle into the facility and it was very frustrating therefore due to the attitude of the employee I decided to cancel and I did not go ahead with renting a storage unit from U-Haul however I did use the truck for that day to bring my valuables and stored items to another facility however the vehicle rental division as always was excellent but your staff on Barton Street is very young and they don't want to be there when you work somewhere you have to take pride in your job and make the people feel welcome and listen to the people when they are making requests because we the customers are the ones who grow your business to a large successful business that you are todayMarco F. | Overall Experience
