The person who inspected my vehicle upon return was courteous, and very helpful, and went out of his way to make it easy for me. The desk people seemed not to care much. The person helping me upon my arrival asked for someone to bring the vehicle around for me. Despite their being 4 people behind the desk that were socializing, no one got the vehicle. Eventually the young girl gave me a set of keys and pointed me to the direction of the vehicle. Sure doesn't show too much customer care. I got the same impression on returning the vehicle expect for the young man that went out of his way to take ownership and check my vehicle in. Just trying to provide an honest review.Carlo V.

Still disappointed regarding my last transaction at the Wellington Location on Hamilton Mountain. I was not notified of the $20 charge, if I didn't return the trailer using the U-haul website. The fee was more than the rental!Michael D.
Twice I've tried to collect a truck using the truck share 24/7 at this location (2275 Barton Street, Hamilton, ON), only to be let down by the system. Please follow up with staff to ensure keys are left out or in case of inability to do so, reach out to the client to advise that. Uhaul trucks are awesome, but staff at this location continue to drop the ball. However, kudos to the young man that did arrive at 7am today (October 30) outside of business hours to assist. If I had his name I would name him but he deserves some acknowledgment.Aaron B.

Make sure when a people make reservations in advance that all the equipment they required are available. I made my reservation 3 weeks in advance, requiring 2 dollys 1 furniture dolly and 6 blanks. When I arrived to pick the truck up. I got only 1 dolly and 1 furniture dolly and 6 blankets. I honestly wasn't impressed. So yeah make sure when someone reserves a truck and equipment that it's all there and ready.Brian C.

The only problem I had was I had to find the truck and then I had to put the back door down which I was not happy about then I had to find someone to do that since I had hip surgery 7 months ago and I didn't know I had to check the truck over until I got a msg when I got home but the two staff members that checked ne in and check me out when I brought the truck we very nice and polite and helpful BarbBarb W.

Hello, Well when I brought the truck back the male employee said I'll check it in and being inside in a couple of minutes. The employee was still outside talking to another male forever. I must have waited 15 minutes. During the waiting 4 customers rented trucks. Then 3 more customers came in to rent trucks and 3 more customers came to be line. so, I decided I would next to speak to the female employee at the counter. I said I'd like to finish my contract with UHAL. I told her about the male employee taking forever. She went on the computer and said the male employee had not checked the truck in yet. In any event she did her job and finished the paperwork and I left the UHAL station. Before I left the male employee was still outside taking to another male. UHAL is great Company and would recommend UHAL to others. It's that sometimes employees kind of ruin the experience for customers. Respectfully - Thank you Howard MageeHOWARD M.

Your mileage charge per KM is obscene. Nothing to do with the location I rented from but advertising 19.99 a day and then applying .59 /KM is outrageous my fault for not knowing advance but I will never rent again from UHaul.peter H.

I reserved a room and it was not available when I got there! Was offered another one which unbeknownst to me was more money! Paid for it and 3 days later got a letter stating I was late on payment and would have to pay a late fee! Went in and was told not to pay as I already had and that the company does this all the time! Received another notice maybe a week later stating the same! Was told by counter person (who was friendly) that it was NOT the correct price and to not pay. At the start of next month I received another letter stating same price, so I went in and was told by the same person he would talk to manager and see about getting the price I was quoted on the internet. I was told by him that if the manager would not agree (which I was told NEVER HAPPENS) that I could move out and not be charged. A week later when I did not get a answer, and looked at my credit card statement I had already been charged! When I went to see what's up, I had the unpleasant experience of meeting the manager one (Colin Reese) who was nothing like any of the other people who worked there. He was rude, ignorant and unwilling to listen. His only and final answer was that (I was wrong, and that's that!) I told him I was not happy and would leave a review. His words were I DON'T CARE! My rating is average because I was told my unit was being demolished and would have to move ASAP. I arrived at 3pm and talked to office. I was told they were transferring me in a U-box and would get one delivered to my storage unit. After about 30 minutes the guy drove up saying they were just figuring out what they are doing and would just be a little while longer. After 2 hours of waiting I went back into the office to find out what was going on. The guy called his boss and was told they are moving me to another unit not a U-box. I was told the first month was free but I needed to pay the 18.00 insurance fee. I had forgot my wallet but need to come in to pay my other unit in a couple of days. I had to then go back unpack my truck of the things I was bring home and repack with the boxes to move into the new unit. I received an email a couple of days ago saying that there was a 15.00 late fee on thec18.00. On May 20, 2021 I booked storage as we sold our home and need storage for a short time. The storage was book and was told given the pass code to enter after hours but the MOST important part they left out was that the access code wouldn't work until after 24hrs, hence why we were locked out. We had to leave all our furnitures in the truck, park on a street. We returned May 21 to store our stuff and was told that, no elevator, so we we forced to cancel the storage and had no were to store our furnitures. Mice infested, staff couldn’t care less about our concerns, Store Manager did not return our phone calls despite numerous calls made and messages left. Some of our belongings were damaged (carpet) and no one bothered to help nor provide some sort of compensation. Will never use uHaul again for any kind of service. Every facility may have its challenges however, customer service is extremely important and no one seemed to care. Perhaps further training is required with this location staff. The person that was working should not have been working they didn't seem like they wanted to be at work I asked for a lower unit I have a lot of items to put in the storage I waited 40 minutes to get served once I obtained my key I went around the facility to enter my unit and realized it was on the top level I went back to say that the unit is not on the lower level and I was told that you couldn't do anything about it that I would have to go around the building and wait in line again after lugging in all my valuables onto a dolly from my vehicle into the facility and it was very frustrating therefore due to the attitude of the employee I decided to cancel and I did not go ahead with renting a storage unit from U-Haul however I did use the truck for that day to bring my valuables and stored items to another facility however the vehicle rental division as always was excellent but your staff on Barton Street is very young and they don't want to be there when you work somewhere you have to take pride in your job and make the people feel welcome and listen to the people when they are making requests because we the customers are the ones who grow your business to a large successful business that you are todayMarco F. | Overall Experience
