We rent here a lot. Today during drop off the location was severely understaffed. One staff was new and unsure of what to do when a computer was not functioning. Another staff member was outside collecting keys. Once called inside to help she (Ashley) tried to mitigate the growing line of people and a customer started harassing her. No managers were available and both staff were clearly upset. I will be calling the store manager today to let them know what I observed as the customer who was being abusive said he would be filing a complaint. Ashley did a great job. Her colleague was unprofessional, albeit frustrated and none of this would have happened with proper staffing.Melissa P.
Customer service could definitely be improved. I reserved a Van online and the service rep gave me the keys but I couldn't find the Van with the right number. I went back in and told them but I was then told that I didn't order a Van, I ordered a Pick-Up but that was definitely not the case. I started looking for the Pick-Up but couldn't find that either. At this point I was getting upset and thought at least I should be told where the vehicle is located on the lot so I had to go back in and complain that I couldn't find it and the rep checked the computer and realized I was right, I did reserve a Van and I did find that parked at the opposite side of the building. This was needless frustration and15min wasted walking around the lot.STEVENK N.

The vehicle they provided was filthy, has obviously been beaten on by contractors, and rep that checked it in upon return was having a bad day and screwed me out of a measly $20 for damage I didn't do. Advice to anyone using this location, take your own photos, go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb, and have have a rep go over the vehicle with you while you do so. One bad employee is making the whole branch untrustworthy.Andrew S.

I was given false information by an employee relating to my rental. Manager confirmed that the information was told to me incorrectly but he didn't care and said he wouldn't do anything to correct the situation and charged me for his employees mistake. When I confronted on why they didn't honour their word he was aggressive and rude. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I will hire out over giving this location business ever againRoss B.
Didn't like the results of my rental I was an hour and a half late pass by 24 hours so I got a charge an extra day I got stuck in Torontoâ€˜s traffic meant to phone forgot they called told him I was gonna be an hour and a half late still got charge for two days instead of one day not nice I am repeat customer as always.FREDF B.

I booked a truck in Ottawa to move my daughter home from University. The night before we left for Ottawa I called to confirm (no one contacted me) and I was told there were no trucks available. After hours and hours being disconnected by the phone I had a wonderful young man help me arrange a van from Hamilton to Ottawa and back again. After several hundred dollars in gas and having to dump some furniture in Ottawa my daughter's things came home. My experience booking the vehicle on line was horrible. Confirmed two days before. Then one day before my pickup location was moved to another city (Caledonia) from Hamilton. It toot 90 minutes on hold with two different representatives to my reservation get back to what I had booked in the first place. Will avoid using Uhaul again unless I have to. The pickup truck was cover with the snow on the windshield. I have to clean myselfMike R.
They told me the gas was at 1/2 a tank, when I got in the truck it was definitely not at 1/2 tank it was between 1/4 and 1/2 and I should have taken a picture. I drove 52 km and out $10 in gas and it was fuller than when I took it and I got charged an additional $9.64 for fuel. disappointing next time I will definitely say something before I leaveJulie L.

Everything was great. The uhaul system and website was down the day I was there and two younger gentlemen worked that day - both were exceptional and very professional in the situation where the uhaul system was down. The trailer was not clean at all. It had lumps of sod and dirt all over the floor of the trailer. As it had just started raining yesterday as I was picking up the trailer, all the rain turned to mud and spread everywhere. I didn't even look at the trailer for cleanliness as it has never been a problem in the past two months of trailer rentals from the same location, and I have had rentals at least 15 time in the last two months.Gregory H.
This man was above and beyond outstanding and professional I have rented a lot over the years and no one has ever hooked my car dolly up before and Checked all the lights except for this man. He deserves credit. Polite and kind.Glenn R.
Staff were great and friendly HOWEVER NOT ONE of them were wearing masks and frankly in this day and age, that's just not acceptable. Make sure you're organized and don't call people in the middle of a move and ask for the truck back. Having to switch trucks because someone messed up, set my move back more than two hours. This caused my girlfriend and I not to be able to move all our stuff into our new apartment. We had too book the loading dock twice to finish the move.Justin C.

Mice infested, staff couldn’t care less about our concerns, Store Manager did not return our phone calls despite numerous calls made and messages left. Some of our belongings were damaged (carpet) and no one bothered to help nor provide some sort of compensation. Will never use uHaul again for any kind of service. Every facility may have its challenges however, customer service is extremely important and no one seemed to care. Perhaps further training is required with this location staff. The person that was working should not have been working they didn't seem like they wanted to be at work I asked for a lower unit I have a lot of items to put in the storage I waited 40 minutes to get served once I obtained my key I went around the facility to enter my unit and realized it was on the top level I went back to say that the unit is not on the lower level and I was told that you couldn't do anything about it that I would have to go around the building and wait in line again after lugging in all my valuables onto a dolly from my vehicle into the facility and it was very frustrating therefore due to the attitude of the employee I decided to cancel and I did not go ahead with renting a storage unit from U-Haul however I did use the truck for that day to bring my valuables and stored items to another facility however the vehicle rental division as always was excellent but your staff on Barton Street is very young and they don't want to be there when you work somewhere you have to take pride in your job and make the people feel welcome and listen to the people when they are making requests because we the customers are the ones who grow your business to a large successful business that you are todayMarco F. | Overall Experience
