Pure bait and switch scam. Approved for one-way for $139 flat rate then one day before call to say the truck is not available for one-way and forced to do in town for $260. Avoid if possible.

I had to wait for almost 45 minutes once I got there. This cut into my allotted moving time. Eventually, another employee came to help the woman working, but there definitely should have been an additional person there initially. The first truck I was given had windshield wipers that didn't work. I was given a different truck, and I didn't realize until I got to my destination that the lock on the truck didn't work, possibly from rust. In addition, I requested a dolly, but they somehow already didn't have one at 7am. I would recommend having a greater supply of tools or being more prepared to not offer them at all.

Location is somewhat difficult to get to...my reservation was changed to this location so I was a little bit annoyed with that, but apparently they had the size trailer that I needed. Staff was very helpful and fixed an issue with my U-Haul tow bar.

Uhaul should not have customers to recheck in their own vehicles, I thought trucks was rented by the day, I had to return it by 6pm when I picked it up at 12 and I didn't have enough time to finish moving, couldn't extend my rental because I paid 118. For 6 hrs..

The vehicle was dusty inside, which tells me it was not sanitized. Additionally, the tire pressure was low. So not only was it not in good condition, it was not safe. You need to tell ppl before they make a reservation on your website that you don't parking for customers to secure their vehicle while using the rental. Very misleading.

On 10/30 I reserved a 20 foot truck because I was moving from Oxon Hill, MD to Waldorf MD which is about 23 miles apart. I reserved a one way trip because the pickup was ten minutes from the move out location and the drop off was ten minutes from the move in location. Once I arrived to the pickup location at 9am on 10/31 I was told that a truck was not available for me to pick up and I had to wait a few days. I didn't have that option because my lease was up that same day and I had to be out by midnight. I was also told that someone called me and left a message letting me know a truck wasn't available. I did not receive that call and didn't have a “missed call" showing on my phone. After speaking to a sales rep at uhaul via phone call I was advised that the “only” truck that was available was a 10 foot truck that was in Washington DC. which was clearly out of my way. I was also told that the truck had to be returned to that Washington DC location. I had no other choice because I had to be out by midnight. My plans clearly changed. Because of the inconvenience my trip changed from a 23-25 mile trip to a 120 mile trip. Instead of filling up a 20 foot truck one time I had to fill up the 10 foot truck twice costing me more time, more gas and more mileage all equaling more money. Instead of my trip being one way from Oxon Hill MD to Waldorf MD it became: 1. Washington DC to Oxon Hill MD 2. Oxon Hill MD to Waldorf MD 3. Waldorf MD to Oxon Hill MD (2nd trip) 4. Oxon Hill MD to Waldorf MD 5. Waldorf MD to Washington DC (to return truck) Instead of paying $60-$70, my total was $210 which is very disappointing. I've used uhaul on several occasions and never received this type of service before and to a certain degree I have lost confidence in uhaul producing what they advertise.

I was charged twice for a rental on 10/15/20, the first truck I was given had a warning light showing a problem with a rear tire and it was wobbly. I made a u-turn at Bladensburg Road and went back to the store. I let the clerk know there was a problem with a back tire, he reassigned me another truck. He assured me I would not be double charged. I WAS ANYWAYS!!! This is the second time I've had problems with the equipment and charges at that location. The first occurrence was in September 2020.

I've rented trucks and vans from this location several times. My most recent experience was by far the best. The woman at the counter was very friendly and fast.

Booked the u haul at different location and it u haul truck has been automatically assigned 13 miles away from the actual booking place without any prior information. Not happy with the incident happened with me. Going to complain about it.

Please remove the hand truck and bag with blankets from your trucks. Or make it easily removable if customer chooses to do so. I was told that I can't remove it because seal will break and I would have to pay for hand truck rental. Bag of blankets is permanently attached to the truck. It takes space that can be used for some of my belongings, instead I'm forced to haul around your belongings.

I cant recommend your company to anyone. On September 3, 2020 I put a $40 deposit on one of two October 1, 2020 hitch installations scheduled at your Landover location. I reserved two trailers for pick up on October 3, 2020 at your Central Ave. location. I showed up at your Landover location at 7:00 am on October 1, 2020. I was be told "Sorry, we don't have a mechanic and we haven't had one in weeks. You hitch installation has to be canceled.

Positive feedback here: I had a reservation at another location where "the system was down", no ability to rent anything and no idea how long before things were working again, and my schedule was shot. I called the Bladensburg location, they had the equipment I needed, got me in and out very quickly, everything was easy and positive. They are further away from my home but I'll try them first the next time I need to rent. They saved my bacon!

While the actual location, the people and the equipment was excellent the reservation experience and finding the truck was a disaster. I will never use a neighborhood dealer again and the one on GA Ave in Washington DC should not be allowed to rent Uhauld. If you want more info call me at (434) 2588470. Also the amount of time I was put on hold to talk to an agent is ridiculous. Get a call back system. I will try Budget next time.

The trucks need some upgrading and the staff needs to pay more attention to ensuring that the rented equipment are loaded when the truck is picked up. I had to lift all my furniture because someone forgot to include the dolly.

This was a secondary location, and not my first location of choice. I was never informed after making a reservation 6 weeks in advance that my original location and any surrounding areas did not have a vehicle I needed. When I arrived on time to the Falls Church location where I had booked in mid August, I was informed I had no truck, and that I could either "deal with it" or call customer service on the phone. Eventually, one staff member, and what I assume was the manger helped us call cust. service, and surrounding locations to find a truck, however I think its VERY poor management for UHaul to have never sent ANY type of communication that there was no truck available, and to have me show up on the day of my reservation, assuming everything was fine, for staff to tell me "there's nothing I can do".

This location the employees were really nice and helpful. The truck I rented really needed severe maintenance. The alignment was off so badly that it felt like it was a hazard to drive. Sundays is my only day off. If I did not need the truck that day to move somethings I would have opted not to use the vehicle.

Cool staff. This is a very busy location with a lot of aggressive customers. I rent here when I'm in DC which requires a rental truck at some point. In spite of the challenges they handle business efficiently and professionally and I thank them for their collective team service.

One of the Male customer rep working was not wearing his mask. During COViD and the agency policy I feel it is paramount that policy is adhered to. However all of the customer reps were working very hard to ensure each customer was taken care of in a timely and professional manner

The customer service agents were ridiculously rude and unhelpful. The amount of attitude was completely unnecessary. On top of that, there wasn't even a hello- much less a question as to whether I needed help. And I had to ask the heavy set black male, to wear his mask! He did not appreciate that either. I will not be going back to this location- not when I live between two of them.

Bad customer service I was charged for a key that broke due to wear and tare on the key I never got to use the truck to move the items I need to get rid of never going to that location awful service

Truck looked as though it had not been clean or sanitized. I rented a tow dolly and did not examine the straps when I took possession. When I arrived to hook up my vehicle, the right strap attached to the dolly was frayed almost completely in half. I called the store about the strap, the service rep wanted to argue that she and the other rep looked over the straps themselves to make sure they were in good condition. I told her I did not see her examine the straps, I saw her hooking up the dolly to the pickup truck. I asked her to bring another dolly to my location. She told me there was nobody in the store who could do so; I could bring the dolly all the way back to the store and get another one. I asked her if I was going to be credited for the inconvenience and the mileage, she said no. Luckily I had some chains with me to secure the vehicle to the dolly and was able to transport it that way. When I returned the equipment to the store, I was charged 2x for the dolly.

What should be simple logistical planning was very difficult. First, I wasn't being charged for a 2nd UBox - it required many calls and a few months to get that fixed. Moving out was also a disaster.
