Access code didn't work even after checking in at the office. Email from U-Haul did not accurately describe the process for entering the building. Alarm goes off every time storage area is accessed, even when keycard is swiped and accepted and automatic sliding door opens. If I was not in such a hurry to move out, I would find another storage facility, even with the extra work that would entail.

When I first started moving-in to the storage unit the gentleman at the counter seemed confused and maybe new to the company. I called to inquire about my unit and was informed I did not have a unit. I called my mother who still lives in Springfield so she could get the situation straightened out. She called and spoke with the manager , Phillip, who was incredibly kind and empathetic to the situation. He fixed the problem immediately without a hitch! Thank you U-Haul on Bruns Lane and Phillip oh, you guys are the best!

Cargo bay floor had dirt/ oil on it that ended up on my white carpet. Did not use furniture pads nor did I open the bag and was still charged for them. Very poor attention.

I don't usually make time for this kinda stuff, but when I left there the other day, I was really delighted. Honestly there was “nothing special” about any of it. I rented a truck and returned it. The person that checked me back in had a tone that put me in a great mood, he was quick, wanted to know how I was doing, he checked over the truck, and said he would email the receipt. He was in a medium to good mood, but I felt like he was happy to see me like an old friend. The whole way home I reflected on how easy the whole thing was and how the guy who rented me the truck was also very sharp and polite and pretty quick to get me through. It's tough to find good help; you got a great team, I hope you take good care of them. Thanks for reading this far;).

We previously rented three different storage units with U-Haul, in the climate controlled part. They were always very clean and well lit, and we did not have one problem with bugs, mice, or anything. We used U-Boxes when we moved, which were a life saver! This is the latest unit we have rented, but we only needed it for a short time. We have been very happy with U-Haul and always recommend it to our friends.

Excellent storage facility. Very clean and no problem with rodents or insects. In the past we had three units, and just got one for my son to use while he is moving out of State. We also used U-Boxes when we moved last fall. Highly recommend and could not be happier with the prices and service!

The storage facility was well maintained, and the on site staff was great to work with. The billing was wrong almost the entire time we rented from Uhaul. most months they would fail to charge our credit card, then we would get locked out of our storage unit. That is my only complaint about the experience.

Staff at Bruns Lane U-Haul in Springfield were exceptionally friendly and provided all the information necessary. [When we were ready to depart on a long trip with the truck, we felt the back driver side tires were slightly low. We stopped at the Clear Lake U-Haul on the way out of town and staff there checked and filled all the tires. Our U-Haul experience was great from start to finish!

Impress upon employees honesty in returning lost items to customers. Your employee confirmed to me my car chargers (2) were left behind. When I came to pick them up only was was returned to me even though in phone conversation both were found together.

Truck was dirty. I also was charged a clean up fee and was promised a discount if I brought it back with a quarter tank of gas which I did and was still charged an extra fee. Horrible experience and needs to be more transparency with pricing.

2 employees were working. The one I assumed to be in charge was a pain in the ass. Seemed he struggled to not rent to me. Trailer was dirty inside, trailer tail lights stopped working, was pulled over with no ticket. Had to stop for the night and it put me a day behind. I have rented and purchased from this location. This was the worst experience I have had at this store. I also wanted to note that employee #2 was helpful when employee #1 was not around, he seemed relieved not to be around employee #1. Not sure if I will continue to use unaltered with other options available and where I and my party are treated like crap.

The address for the drop off provided initially was a shopping with no signage for U-Haul. This was confusing and led me to go to the acrtual location used.

Perhaps train employees not to be cocky or arrogant to your customers, both interactions with the same employee were terrible, and in the case of a pandemic, correct adherence to safety guidelines should be followed and absolutely was not. Over two visits, on different days, not one employee was wearing a mask when in doors and assisting customers, all of whom were wearing proper PPE. I have worked in retail management and leadership for 20 years, from what I witnessed, clearly taking care of your business (customers) is not a priority for the supervisors of the Bruns Lane location. Overall, a VERY poor customer experience.

Although I had made a reservation and checked in online there was still a 30 minute wait before getting the truck. There were only two staff members working, I think they need additional support. One of the customers in front of me had reserved a 26ft truck but the staff member had put them down for 20ft so getting that person set with a truck and trailer to accommodate their needs took longer.

Horrible got the truck in poor condition with engine lights on and very low fuel. Rip off I was charged more than what I was told did business with Penske and they were straight forward. Will make sure to share my experience and receipt on all platform to warn future customers.

I think your employees need some customer service lessons. My latest dealing with them has me extremely frustrated! My charges were put on hold Friday because I didn't think it was fair to charge me the full rental price..Once I got to my location I realized there was no ramp with this truck (10' (I assumed all moving trucks came with a ramp- my mistake) so I called this location (on hold for 8 minutes) to ask if they had a ramp, which they didn't. So I returned the truck after going 13 miles and gone for 35-40 minutes because it was no use to me without a ramp.....The employee told me he would have a manager call me on Saturday to discuss it with me. to date I have heard from no one! Since I still had to move some things from my storage unit, I asked a friend to help and he went to your Dirksen Parkway location (which is on the exact opposite side of town) and rented a truck with a ramp to get the job done for me... Next month is my big move to my new home, I wonder who I will choose to rent from...Penske maybe!

The Bruns location needs more help desperately......the staff there were awesome but exhausted trying to keep up with demands. Owen keeps things running AND goes above and beyond at the same time. Please appreciate the people and their representation of the Springfield U-Haul location.

Had 2 storage units for 1.5 yrs to store belongings while looking for a condo to purchase. Staff was always helpful but sometimes very short handed. This is a VERY busy UHaul facility. Very secure and easily accessible.

During the pandemic I tried several times to reach someone at the location by phone and email but was unsuccessful. I was able to get ahold of U-Haul but not the direct location that held my storage and was told that I wouldn’t be charged any extra fees due to the pandemic and me losing my job. I arrived to pay off my storage and was changed an extra $50 for a lien fee but I was told when I called that I wouldn’t have to pay any extra fees and that my storage was never in lien that those messages were automatic. The general manager then gave me his card and said he gets all the emails directly and that I had to pay the fee. That frustrated me even more because I had emailed them several times with no response and I was charged for something I shouldn’t have been charged for.

The GM was extremely helpful as I went in to the store several times for boxes and truck rental before my move. The staff member who was working in addition to the GM also helped with the rental unit procedures. I enjoyed working with them. The rental unit building was clean and I feel my items will be secure there.

Very nice/convenient facility. Unfortunately, facility is NOT price competitive. Cut monthly rental expense by 50% for comparable space. Hated to leave but was unable to negotiate a cheaper rate.
